Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Has anyone else had trouble getting to CP today?

Ria over in Holland hasn't been able to and her ISP says our site is "down".  Then I got an email from Ruth here in Ontario saying that she can't get on.

Every time I've tried today at all my "coffee breaks" I've had no trouble.

Pat, I have had no problem reaching the CP site this morning and now in the early evening.

karmat

I've had no problems, but i did notice that I was the only one on here for a while, and that was unusual.

Pat

I had a phone call from Judy McKenna right here in Guelph saying that she gets "Page Not Found" when she tries.

Strange.

Yes Gitsie is the one that got wet when the roof leaked.

I got an email from Jenny, she couldn't get back on CP either.

Pat Scott:  Whew!  Slow down and have a fun trip - lean back and relax on your drive to Calgary.

Karmat:  Ouch for poor Travis - poor little piggys!

Larry:  Thank you for your message about Don's surgery.  We have been told that it doesn't always go well so will wait on that - he is doing very well right now.

Joyce:  Nice seeing you post and I will send prayers your way.

Marilyn:  Hugs for you on the loss of your little  Gitsi.

Carol

Pat

But you can, Marilyn.  That's good.

I have no idea what the problem could be other than a routing problem like SeniorNet sometimes has.

How are you doing?  It's so sad.

Marilyn

I got a big hug from my son and the g-kids and I explained to them about Rainbow Bridge. I keep thingking I could have done more for her but I don't know what else I could have done.  I came home from work a 1/2 hour early I just couldn't stay any longer.

I have class tonight at 6 p.m. I took Happydog and Bebe for a nice walk, I hooked both of their harnesses to one leash. MISTAKE!! they are too strong together for me to handle for very far. we walked about a block and came back

It looks like my job will be over at the library on or before the 16th. Did I say that in my post earlier? I forget. This has been one stressful month for me  one thing after another. Now a jkob change when I just got one. I don't go to the doctor until Sept. 16th, I have to wait to get my Medi/cal card so I can go. Maybe by the end of the month I will have it.  It is for free medical care.  Please Please keep me in your prayers. I have been through so much this month.

Oh, poor Travis!  Bet those little piggies do hurt, and I don't blame him for not wanting anyone messing with them!

Carol, prayers for Don's hand to heal quickly and completely are going upward!  I feel so sad whenever Darrel and I go to the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo.  The personnel are all wonderful and they try so hard, but they only get the old types of medicines, and it is hard for them to get more updated meds and treatments for their patients.  Clinton practically destroyed both the military and the Veterans hospitals while he was in office.

Pat, I wish I had a chance to talk to you before you go, but just go in peace, knowing we will be praying for you.  Have a wonderful time, and don't worry about anything at home.  Nothing you can do, anyway, so why fret?

I couldn't get anything this afternoon/evening when trying CP except "page not found."  But as you can see, I'm here now! ;D

Papa John, I hope the shots weren't too painful and that you get a great night's rest tonight.

Hello, Larry!  Always good to see you and read your posts.

Ria, you're doing just great!  And I have heard the same information that Larry told you concerning Prostate cancer.   So I pray all will be well with your dear father.

Mieka!  Nice to see your lovely smile!  Hugs to you!

Well, I now have three boys plus one girl, so life is not quiet in my household just now!  I just took some photos of them with their faces all painted with glitter face paint---what a mess! :) :-\

I want to see if there are any new photos today.

Karmat - did you consider the possiblity that the reason you were the only one in here was self explanatory?
Marilyn - I pray  that our Father will supply the needs of your heart at this time.  He is sufficient.

Pat

Well, it's so nice to see some of you here at least!  I'm so sorry, Janet, that you were having trouble.  I just can't figure out what it could be except a router problem.  At least you finally got here.

Jen and I just got back from a walk and not I must try to get my big suitcase packed so that we can put it in the roof rack thingy on top of Judy and Norm's car tomorrow.  That will just leave my wee one with clothes for the road in it and my laptop, cameras, etc. to go in the trunk with Norm and Judy's road stuff.

I've got bottles of water all frozen and we'll have water for the trip too.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry.  I thought about Gitsie as we walked tonight and it's just so sad when you've had a pet for so long.  We've done it so often and you just never seem to find it easier.

Must go...

Hi Al!  And Carol!

Talk later!

I have just used a feature that is available with the software that these forums use to send a message out to all members letting them know that the server is down.

Will someone please let me know if you receive it?  This has never been used before on this site.

I just attributed it to faulty deodorant!! :P

I'm in here by myself again.   :(

I took a shower this morning, I PROMISE!!!!  Please come back and play, guys! :(

Thanks Iain.  I wish that it were possible to always express our love for the Lord.  Have friends who believe that they have lived a good life and that is all that matters.  Can only hope they will see that more is required.

Janet, didn't realize that you were involved in 4H.  My 16yr. old granddaughter raises Holland Lap Rabbits and is very involved in a island group.  It has been a real blessing as most of her time was spent with school and art work.  She is a talented watercolor artist...needed another outlet and this is wonderful.  The kids and leaders are so much fun.  I think it helped her to develop real maturity.

Al is able to do things still...but always has some pain from the prostrate cancer.  Some are able to recover, like my brother-in-law.  Al's has now spread and it can't be stopped.  He is at peace with God and determined to continue doing regular activities as long as God will permit.  I try not to act differently but find it all so hard at times.

Wendy is in so much pain all the time and no amount of praying seems to change things.  At times it is hard to not get discouraged but realize that God is in control, not me.  She will be having a lot more tests and specialists say there is not any hope of improvement for years down the road.  Next comes the battle for a settlement with ICBC and they are terrible!  Has had to fight for every treatment...but has a great lawyer.  Must get a settlement that will cover the years ahead for treatments or she will lose her mobility altogether.

I don't know how folks get through life without having Jesus.  Each day I pray to try and be a blessing to those who cross my path.  So many frightened people in the world who don't know the peace that comes from our Lord.

Pat

Hello Everyone!

It's 2 am here in Guelph and I just finished sending out an email to our members telling them about the webhosters server!

Then I find that it's fixed!

Great to have it back and now I must go to bed.

We'll not start a new topic this time as most of our members were unable to read August 7th thread.

If you check in, Etta Sue, travel safely and we'll see each other in Calgary!

Now, I'm going to catch 40 winks!

'Who against hope believed in hope.'

Romans 4:18

Disappointment and frustration are two words that are well known to Christians throughout this world. Often it seems that we take one step forward and two steps back. How true it is that when we would do good, evil is present with us.

A good work may greatly encourage us for a while only for pride or some other sin to get in the way and the discouragement we feel, overshadows any good that we may have done.

Many of us feel that disappointment is our middle name. We try our best, slogging away daily only to be slapped in the face with one disappointment after another.

We question ourselves, our motives, our actions and tie ourselves in knots wondering what we have done wrong to deserve or warrant yet another let down.

Good results from a medical go for nothing when a sharp pain in the chest comes our way. Waiting for important exam results only to find that we have failed. Job interviews that go well, yet a week later we receive the dreaded letter beginning, 'We regret to inform you...'

People will tell us that something better will come along and I know for a fact that when relationships with other people are concerned then that can prove to be of little comfort.

I have many friends that have enjoyed a healthy loving relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend only to be shattered when that relationship comes to an unexpected end.

Many wonder if they will ever find the right person for them. Single people can fret for months on end about this, and as the years go by it gets worse instead of better.

Some of the finest Christian I know are single.
Many of them are content with their portion, however there are a few that dearly long for a companion in this life. Their schoolmates were married long ago and they cannot but wonder why the Lord is leaving them behind.

They feel like they are ageing on a daily basis. Why does God not bring the right person into my life TODAY?

Colleagues mock, so called friends make a joke about it, asking when are you going to get married? If only they knew the hurt that causes me!

Our tongues can be vicious weapons at times!

I remember many years ago, trying to comfort a Christian friend of mine who had just split up with her boyfriend. Both had applied for Mission work. The Lord wanted her to serve Him. There was no place for her boyfriend.

She had to make the choice between her Saviour and the deep feelings in her heart.

She came to stay with my wife Ann and I for a week or so. She cried for what seemed like days on end. Nothing I could say or could do would give her any comfort. Sometimes in life it is better just to put your arm around someone and say nothing. This was one of those occasions.

I did not learn this lesson until I had exhausted myself trying in vain to comfort her.

Months later she started her service for the Lord and she was undoubtedly one of the brightest Christians that I have ever met. She served the Lord faithfully for I think nine years or so, until a family illness drew her back home again.

God had in the meantime had been working in the heart of a young man. He had taken him on a peculiar journey. Travelling many hundreds of miles from his home. He changed his heart and employment along with his address. He had been a very successful insurance agent but he found that he had to give that up.

He had been taken from darkness to light. A new song was now in his mouth and he wanted to serve His new Master in the work of the ministry.

As the Lord prepared him for the task ahead, He brought him to live next door, in rented accommodation to my friend!

Months passed and the friendship blossomed. Long walks in the summer evenings soon led to a healthy romance. They married, and I cannot remember seeing a more radiant bride.

Disappointments, tears, heartache and sorrow were all forgotten as they were united as man and wife.

Now they serve the Lord together in the place He chose for them.

Had I told my friend years earlier as she cried her eyes out that things would work out in a wonderful way for her, she would not, could not have believed me! God does ALL things well.

Our disappointments are His veiled appointments.
Perhaps today, you are in a position where you are hoping against hope. It is not for the first time either.

Many years have passed since first you believed and trusted, yet there is still no sign of your prayers or desires being answered.

What could be more impossible than for a hundred year old man and his ninety year old wife to have another child?

Abraham did not look at the impossibility. He simply took God at His word. We must do the same. Each day we must fight against unbelief and the temptation to give up.

We must learn to rest in the words that our God has spoken to us. There are two verses further on in this chapter that I would like to quote to you.

They contain words of great encouragement. I pray that you will take time to learn these two verses by heart and keep them as a special token of God's love for you.

Repeat them to yourself whenever you are tempted to doubt, and learn to rejoice in the Unseen.

'He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.' Romans Chapter 4 Verses 20 & 21

I'm here!  I couldn't sleep, so thought I'd try CP again and this time I made it!  Thanks, PAT for the messages re: the server being down.  I think I got all that you sent!   :)

I just read all the messages from the first one of August 7, and I will not try to comment on each one, except to express my sympathy to Marilyn on the loss of her little Gitzie.   :'(

I want to wish all the travelers a good trip and lots of fun while in Calgary.  Be safe!  (Pat, maybe you should save your nap-time for when you're not driving, y'think?)  :P

Hello All,
I hope and pray you receive this.
It is Friday morning and a  very hot, sweltery morning at that.

I've entered through the tap in on the e mail you sent me Pat.  I can't get in my usual way yet...will try later.

Iain, thank you dear brother.  Your words 7-8th, are so helpful to me at this time with my son Christopher, some of you are praying re Private matter on this situation, NOT just the job needs. This devotional gives me great hope.  The Lord will work this out for His Glory.

I must remember that Abraham did lose heart and he took Sarah's advice re his slave girl Hagar. Because of that we have the Middle East conflict, still......  However God did not default on His promise and I stand in His promises for my son..........Sarah..."WHO AGAINST HOPE BELIEVED". (Heb 11:11).

MARILYN I have e mailed you and will be in touch again shortly.  My thoughts and prayers are with you....I lost my first Yorkie when he was 17 and still miss him.  Though I love my dear little "Sunday" dog.

ELIZABETH....Lovely to seeyou again.

RHIA....Hope you get in alright, re server.

I am coming in later if the server is working!

Until then:-

"May the God of all hope so fill you with joy and peace in believing through the experience of your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing , (BUBBLING OVER) with hope. (Rom 15:13).

I, too, am able to come in today. Normally I have a terrible graphics problem that requires me to refresh and refresh my screen before I can read anything at all, but today it worked perfectly! :D

Godspeed to those going to the Calgary bash.

Ria, yes, it is wonderful to see you posting. And, your english is MUCH better than my usage of your language, you can be assured of that! ;)

Hello to everyone else. I've read the posts, but must return to bed to rest. This cold is keeping me pretty quiet.

Have a good day.

Papa John

Good morning.  It is good to see so many in here.

The injections yesterday weren't too bad but they did make my back pretty sore.  I didn't sleep very well last night but this morning I feel pretty good.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry about your losing the little dog.  I still miss our little Wrinkles we lost a few years ago.  We decided not to get another dog.  I know they really become important members of the family.

Pat, we will all be thinking about your traveling across Canada.  We hope you, Judy, and Norm will have a lovely and safe trip.

Good Morning!

I finally got in.  I have trouble getting in on and off so thought it was my problem.

I got an A OK from my pain Doc...  so I can go do water excercise.  My back is still in pain.  But had the stimulator adjusted so hope it will start improving every day again.

Love to all,

Francy

Janet

I have a few minutes here while my kids are playing with the neighbor kids.  We went swimming this morning, and Beth will take them again in the afternoon; then tonight we are going to Hugoton.  Darrel is teaching Scuba, and the rest of us will go to the fair to see all of Abby's ribbons and to eat barbecue.  So it's another full day!

I need to go for now, but wish you all a wonderful afternoon!
