Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

We need to be praying for the folks in British Columbia.
The fires are bad and threatening a lot of the province.  It is a dreadful situation.

Etta Sue

I just received an email that photos of Clarksville Christian Church are on the Indy Star newspaper website.  A photographer from the paper was there last Sunday taking photos.  If you want to see my little church, check out the photos on the IndyStar website.

I'm still up... Difficult night.

Praying for the needs here at CP.

You know what I find amazing is that we know each other and we are all over the world.  Japan Canada UK USA Europe.  Amazing!!

Hi everyone.  Another overcast day and we had more rain during the night.  It is going to warm up by afternoon.

We had men's coffee at the senior center this morning and then two other men went with me to the gym and we walked a mile this morning.  I have some things to keep me busy today but will probably stay home the rest of the day other than a quick trip to the post office.

Etta Sue, enjoyed seeing the pictures of your church.  It looks very much like the one we had in our home town and which I attended for my growing up years.  Pat and I were also married in the church.  The little globe sure brought back memories as believe this is the birthday bank where you put in a penny for each year you are celebrating.  I haven't seen one of those for many years.  Am I correct?

JudyB

What can I do to be free of guilt?

No one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it. But now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight—not by obeying the law by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago. We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins. For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times. And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus.

Romans 3:20-26 NLT

What we cannot do for ourselves
This is the gospel in a nutshell: God knows we are guilty and knows we cannot save ourselves. He has done for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He sent Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sin. When we trust in him, the consequence of our sin is fully removed.

Etta Sue

Yes, Larry.  The little globe is a bank where you put in the amount of money that you are old/young that week.  And I love it when everyone sings 'Happy Birthday' and says 'God Bless You' instead of your name since there may be many celebrating their birthday that week.  I missed that in my previous church...too many people.

And I am in the number 8 photo on the Indy Star
website...the back of me...I am in purple.

Another day of nothing definite planned.  Doing some laundry again but that will soon be done, folded, hung and put away.

Tomorrow will start the big 150th celebration at church.  We are having cake and ice cream at the old Masonic Lodge...it was started the same year as the church and one of the church members bought the lodge.  Then we will go to the church to listen to the original 'Shepherds'....four men who started singing together about 15 years ago.  The one pastor is coming back from Tennessee to help us celebrate.  My nephew, Tracy, is one of the originals also.

Then Sunday is Sunday morning service, then Sunday School.  We have a big tent set up outside and we will all go outside for lunch.  I am fixing a huge amount of potato salad for my contribution.  Then we will all go back inside and will have recognition of all the past ministers and watch the 124 photo slide show.  Not sure what else.  But I love surprises!

Then it will all be over for another 150 years!!

Hey....Yoo Hoo!  Where are all of you?  I didn't realize CPers could be so silent!!

I was thinking the same thing Etta Sue

HELLO!!  I'm here, but have been away all day.  We went to Amarillo for Darrel's appointments.  But one doctor was out sick, so that one has to be rescheduled, making us another 400 mile round trip.  :-\  But the urogolist said Darrel has no infection now; also his bladder is better.  He is to continue the medicine for another month.

Tomorrow is scrapbooking day at the library.  I think I will work on my Costa Rica album, would like to get that finished.  Then next week I hope to get photos of Abby's last dance recital printed so I can start working on her new album.  I have missed two years (mostly) of her, because she stopped allowing me to come to her school to visit.  Guess she was embarrassed to have Grama come to school.  Sigh.....  But she is coming around!  She jumped up off the couch to greet and hug me today when we stopped by.  That did my heart a ton of good!  :)

Etta Sue, I enjoyed seeing the pictures of your church, so nice and clean and bright!  And you look good, too!  Hope you have a great turnout this weekend and lots of fun (and visiting and eating, of course!)

So now I will continue my silence (as far as you can tell!)  ;)

Saturday morning, and I'm here. :)  I'm listening to Pandora, my worship channel, and seeing what you are all up to.  You're right.  It's pretty quiet in here.  I guess we're all busy with going about your days.

This is the day the Lord has made!  I'm so blessed to be in it.

Marilyn

I've been here several times just didn't have anything to say at the time. Still don't

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Well I don't have anything to say either, so I'm SAYING IT.

Busy day.  Besides the usual I made a big batch of potato salad for lunch after church tomorrow.  A nephew called to find out what all is going on at church this weekend...I may park in his driveway tonight.  Then another nephew called and asked if I would sew on buttons on two pairs of pants for him.  He brought them and I did.  I thought everyone knew how to sew on buttons but I guess not.

Then my friend from Mexico Skyped me.  Now I am finally getting caught up online.

I need to call Ivalou to see when she wants to leave this evening.  It rained earlier but hasn't since noon.  Looks like rain any minute now though!

Busy.  Busy.  Busy.

All right now, Jane and Marilyn!  If we all stop talking, none of us will have anything to read in here!  So come on, yak it up!  ;)  You too, Al!

I got seven 12 X 12 pages done for the Costa Rica scrapbook today.  But I sure have lots more to go....and I hope some people will look at it and enjoy the fruits of my labors!

I think I sat in the same position too long, as am hurting now between my shoulder blades.

Nita, sure good to see your post today!

OK Me too.

We have spent the day painting.  We have changed the colours!!!  Beige and brown for the kitchen.  Cupboard doors are a darker brown.  Busy busy.  John is now putting the doors back up.  The kitchen was a pale green and a darker green.

Kass is at Wonderland today with good friends.  Heard from her and she is having a blast.  Tomorrow or Monday she has a friend arriving for a couple of days.  It will be a busy time.

Night everyone!

Leaving in a few minutes for more 150 year celebrating at church.

Last evening was great.  The Shepherds.  I got goose bumps when I heard their harmonizing.  They should make a recording but they say no!  It was so much fun seeing people I hadn't seen for years...some since grade school!!

Today will many more memories made!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I think the sun is going to pop out from the clouds this morning but still chance for rain today.  As far as I know we didn't get any rain here yesterday.

I didn't do much yesterday but watch a couple of movies on Netflix on my computer.  I don't do that very often as can't say watching movies is one of my most favorite things to do.  Guess my attention span is too short.

My son called last evening to tell me that his daughter had called him saying he was going to be a grandpa for the 4th time.  So this will be our 5th great grandchild.  I must admit I am saddened for the child as they can't support the children they have and I fear for the kind of life they will have.  However, this is not my business so will just hope and pray for the best for them all.

I am ready for church this morning but am doubtful that Pat will attend today as her back was going into spasms again last evening.  She couldn't sit in a chair and be comfortable and had to spend the evening laying on the bed reading and watching TV.  I think she spent too much time in the kitchen yesterday and being on her feet for any length of time is becoming a real problem for her.

I just read on another message board that Pat Howe did not get good news as the cancer has spread up behind her eye and they were not able to remove it all during the surgery.  It sounds like she has a rough road ahead of her.  Please keep her in your prayers.  Some of us have known she and her husband for quite a number of years through SeniorNet and have met them at some of the old SeniorNet Bashes that used to occur.

Etta Sue, sounds like your church already has had a wonderful celebration and are off to a good start for the next 150 years.  I revisited the photos in the newspaper and saw the lady in purple.  I had not looked at all of the pictures before and again these brought back many good memories of my youth and being raised attending the Christian Church in our little town.

Judy, it is quite a job to paint kitchen cabinets isn't it.  It sounds like your kitchen will look like new with the color change.

Marilyn, I always liked the taste of blackberries but never liked all the seeds.  I don't remember ever picking them.

Janet, great news on the infection situation for Darrel.  I am sure you were both delighted.  Too bad about having to make the return trip to see the doctor but these things happen.  We certainly want the doctor to be in good health when he/she treats us and decides on our care needs.

Nita, I often listen to the music on Pandora and enjoy the variety and the new artists I would never hear otherwise.

Hope this is a good Sunday for everyone.  The little boy next door has a little motorcycle and he rides it around their house hour after hour.  Going to have to leave my office as the noise become very annoying.  I don't hear it in the family room.  Enough complaining from me to last the day.

JudyB

The painting was done and all the doors and drawers were done.  No door knobs yet, but that is minor.  We can do that at a later date.

It was a busy 2 days.

Janet

It is Sunday again!  That means time for new Thoughts, which you can find by clicking here.
