JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Pat - it would indeed be wonderful if we could get together while you're out here, but I'll understand if that's not possible.  We're about 4 or 5 hundred miles from Portland here.  Anyway, I pray you'll have a good trip.

Al Moak

Thanks so very much Pat and Marilyn.  That card is absolutely amazing!  And, Marilyn, that artwork is someting else!  Bless y'all.

Marilyn

All we are going to meet up with Pat in Florence. Can you make it that far?

Just heard from Peter in Portland...  He's suggesting Benney's International Café 1517 Highway 101 Tel 541-997-4595. It is right on the main drag (Hwy 101) and has great reviews!

Never mind, Jane.  I just did a search on FB and found your PMs to me and I have no idea why I didn't get any notification of them.

Thanks!  :)

I couldn't get on here earlier.  It was a blank CP page like the last time CP was down.  Either someone fixed it or it fixed itself since everything seems fine and dandy now!

Wish I could attend the Oregon Mini-bash... :(

Well, my remote came by FedEx.  I programmed it for my TV but it wouldn't program for the satellite receiver.  So it was identical to my old remote except you could read all the buttons... ::)  So I called DirecTv and I was told a new satellite receiver would be coming for me to install.  That might be a challenge since everything is in an entertainment center and sometimes you need more than two hands/arms!  Then someone called me about an hour later...had me to go over a few things that I had already done and I was told tomorrow morning a tech is to come to see if he can fix things.  I told them okay but for him to have a new satellite receiver just in case he can't fix mine.

Then if that wasn't enough...my house was getting hotter.  I checked the thermometer and it was 80 degrees in here.  Then I noticed a light blinking on the front of the inside unit.  I got the book out.  'If light on front of unit blinks, turn off and call your service man!'  I did and left a message on Jake's cell phone.  Today I called the office.  They are to have someone come today.  Waiting...  At least it isn't 90 degrees.....yet!

When it rains, it pours.  And I thank God everyday for him blessing my home, car and my possessions.  It all could be worse, I know!

This morning I took a lady who had hip replacement June 20 to the hospital for blood work and to her surgeon's office.  Then we had coffee at Bob Evan's and I took her back home.  It was lunch time so I stopped at McD.  There I saw a classmate that has Alzhiemers.  She acted like she knew me but I don't know.

Etta Sue, if it's not one thing it's twenty, right?

The site was down for a while this morning but our wonderful Michael/Oldiesmann fixed it as soon as he was notified.

Pat my camera is a point and shoot Fujifilm AX300 14 mega pixel. If you click on  my blog you can see a pic I took yesterday of Bebe. The camera automatically focus' on what you are shooting, even turns off the flash if you don't need it. there are no setting to  worry about, if you are doing a macro it focus's and a macro shot. It fits in my pocket, It's amazing.

I got it for 75,000 points that I earned for scanning every thing I buy, it took me two years to save up enough points to get the camera. It's the only  one in their catalog . Gilbert bought Savannah my 15 yr old granddaughter a Nikon D3000 oh how I would love to have that set up.

I don't understand "scanning everything I buy", Marilyn.  It sounds great!  I have a little point and shoot now as well as my Nikon.  Paul got it for my birthday and I love carrying it in my purse all the time.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We reached 100 degrees here yesterday but the heat advisory was removed for today.  We had quite a thunderstorm about 3 am this morning and it rained for an hour with some wind and I think some small hail.  I was awake at 3 am and wasn't able to go back to sleep.  About 4 am I put in my earplugs and turned on some music and an hour and then rested for another hour.  Fortunately, other than going to coffee this morning I have nothing scheduled for today.  In a little while we are going to iHop for dinner.  We got some buy one-get one coupons and Pat hasn't felt very peppy today so she won't have to cook.

We had planned on going to visit our daughter but she has invited us to attend her church on Sunday so will wait and go then rather than make two trips in four day.  She is going to be playing with others in a hand chimes choir for the celebration of the completion of their sanutuary.  They have made it much more handicapped assessible and now she will be able to get into the building and around in the building in her wheelchair.  They even asked her, and two others who attend in wheelchairs, to identify where would be a good place for them to sit and have shortened the pews in those location.  So this will be a special day.  On Saturday we plan on meeting our son and DIL in Madison, GA, which is about halfway for both of us to drive.  We have done this several times and can have a nice visit over a nice meal at Cracker Barrel.  Pat has made them each a new quillo and will take it to them.

Our daughter called this morning saying she had checked her mailbox again and apparently there had been a late delivery because her first disability check was there.  She was greatly relieved.  She saw a new internist today who is going to manage her health rather than her having to see multiply doctors at the public health hospital.  She now has Humana health insurance.  She is getting her medicine set up to obtain by mail as the generics are without additional cost.  The doctor is very close to her apartment so hopefully no more spending all day at the public health hospital waiting hours to be seen and then more hours waiting for prescriptions to be filled.  This should take a lot of stress off of her.

Marilyn, your new camera sounds very nice as does the one that Pat has.  My smartphone has a 5 megapixel camera but has no flash.  I can also take videos with it.

Etta Sue, yesterday our Logitech Harmony universal remote just stopped working and I had to dig out the four remotes it takes to operate without it.  We had changed batteries twice to be sure they were good.  Then this afternoon I put the batteries back in and it came back to life.  I hope it will work now. Hope the Direct TV tech gets you all setup.

Pat, that is quite a trip you and Paul have planned.  Are you driving all that way?  If so you will see some beautiful scenery along the way and a lot of not so pretty scenery.

Pat

Yes, Larry, we're driving all the way.  I'd rather do this than go by air.  I'm looking forward to seeing lots of types of scenery.

Pat the AC Nielsen company sent me a scanner a few years ago to use to scan all merchandise that I buy and transmit that information to them once per week. They in turn give me points for my transmissions and extra points for completing surveys about various things. the AC Nielsen company   is a marketing research company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACNielsen The part that I participate in is called Homescan

Pat, Jane, et al:  After I spoke with Pat on the phone this morning, Marbeth and I did some fairly careful thinking about getting up to Coos Bay, etc.  It would of course have to be an overnight venture.  With that, plus stopping to eat, etc., the cost would be prohibitive for us.  Our finances are just not adequate just now - much as we would indeed rejoice to be able to do it.

Pat in Nebraska watch around mile marker 121 for Golden Eagles that nest nearby. I am longing to go back to driving to LA!  Enjoy your trip.

Hi, I've been here quite a length of time this evening, catching up on past and current events.

It's so great to hear from y'all!

My birthday gal had a wonderful weekend - she was giggly and wiggly all day long Sunday and Monday. :) Her dad even took off work to be able to spend more time with her. Then we went to a restaurant and enjoyed a great meal with our little "queen for the day."

Now, it's time to get back into the swing of things. Physical therapy for the pinched nerve, and lotsa cleaning in this apartment! I'm thankful that my cousin's apartment is now vacated, so I can get to work cataloging the items received, and then finding a place to put them. :)

Love to all of you,
Ruth Ann

Janet

We are back home tonight, after the trip to Salina to see Kerri, and then on to Emporia and north to visit my sister Shirley.  What a wonderful visit we had!  She had quite the experiences in Africa, the very WORST of which was her time in the Johannesburg, South Africa, hospital!  She is walking well now, but being careful, and giving the muscles and tendons and such some healing time.  After doing that for a month, she will see a joint replacement specialist in Wichita.  She is really praying NOT to have to have surgery again.

Today, we decided to drive to Hutchinson and visit the underground Salt Museum.  That was very interesting; it is the only one in the Western Hemisphere.  It was a lovely 69 degrees down there 650 feet below the surface of the ground!   Tuesday it was 112 degrees in that area!   :P  When we stepped out of the van, we thought we might melt into puddles!  UGH.  But then they had a little rain and the next day was nicer, and today nicer still.  Since we were 100 miles closer to home in Hutchinson, we came on home this evening.  I had planned to spend another night with Shirley, but she had grandkids coming anyway, and needed the bed for them.

Purses!  I HATE purses!  Certainly different from most other women, but carrying a purse makes my arm and my back ache.  So I try to always buy pants that have pockets, and when we travel, I usually use a fanny pack.  I do usually carry a small purse.....to the car, in case I need something from it.  Those SUITCASES that are so popular now?  I could pack for a week's trip in one of those things!  ;)

Kerri's heart is softening toward the Lord, she even called today and asked me to pray for her, which I was SO happy to do!

Pat, Oregon is a very long way from Kansas!  And we are going to the Grand Canyon the last of August; still a long way from Oregon.  But we surely would love to see you again!

Since I have been up since 4 AM, I do believe it's time to go to bed!  I did sleep good at Shirley's though! :)
