JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I got early for me and went to the pool this morning.  Then I had breakfast at a little cafe.  Now I am drinking my morning coffee after noon.

When I was growing up, the neighbor girl, Jane, and I made up a sandwich.  Two pieces of bread.  One slice you put on peanut butter and slices of dill pickles.  The other slice you slathered mayonnaise on it and some lettuce.  Slap the two together and eat!  Yum!  I wonder if Jane remembers that.  I will ask her this afternoon at Euchre!

I am still catching up on TV recordings while crocheting Chemo Wraps.

Also I didn't do my Read the Bible in a Year in Florida.  Couldn't concentrate with people talking and the TV going.  So I am reading two days each day until I am caught up again.

Praying for the needs that have been mentioned.

Pat if you were here in Oregon I could give you a jar of the hot pepper jelly. I love it on toasted bagels with cream cheese and hot pepper jelly.

Hi Al corned beef and mustard is great so is cooked cabbage with mustard on it and even so horseradish added to that.

another good sandwich is onion slices with tomato and lettuce with mayo and mustard on the bread.

Pat, I have 7 jars just waiting to  be eaten. Come on any way you can get here, just watch out for those Cascades if you are flying.

Janet do you watch Fox News.  Today there was a little girl in Colorado with NF1 who got to have a date with Tim Tebow. She has had several operations to remove the tumors. They showed x-rays of her spine with the tumors.

Marilyn, I saw something on Facebook about that, the little girl wanting to meet tim Tebow, but when I clicked to read the story, it wasn't available.  The word is finally beginning to get out about neurofibromatosis!  That's a good thing!  There is a lady who has also written a book about it, hers is called Thriving with Neurofibromatosis.  She wasn't diagnosed until she was 33, but her mother and older brother also have it.  She married and has SEVEN children!!  Most of them have nf with multiple other problems.  I ordered her book to read to Beth, but it hasn't arrived as yet.

Class went well today.  I have another painting about 34 done, and it is a big one--18 X 24.  Well, pretty big for a portrait, anyway.

Pat, why don't you and Judy come to Kansas?  I will rustle up some hot pepper jelly for you!  ;)

GRRRR!  The THIRD book has been returned to me.  And when they send them back, I have to pay to get them, then pay the third time to resend them.  This one was one of the very first ones I mailed, and the address is exactly what the lady gave me.  Now I have to see if I can find another way to contact her.  :(

Etta Sue, I am having a little trouble staying up with my Bible readings, too, but am now caught up again!

When I was a kid, I loved mayonnaise and lettuce sandwiches!  We very seldom had sandwiches of any kind; we had to eat that old steak a lot!  ;) Kids always want what they don't get, even when what they get is so much better!

I voted in the caption thing, too.

Hi, friends, I was able to help a couple of friends today, then, because of time constraints, was able to introduce them, so it was a good day. And, one of te gentlemen bought soup for us at Shoneys. Oh, it was good!

One little sandwich I enjoy at southern cooking restaurants is to order sliced tomatoes, then eat them between the cornbread. Such a satisfying little end to a nice meal.

Y'all havve a wonderful evening in fellowship with our Lord.

A pot of turkey vegetable soup is simmering.  Sure wish that I had a Toasted BLT sandwich to have on the side.  Jeanne:  It sounds like you have a lot of favorite sandwiches.  Listening to "The Help" on audio book.  I had forgotten the laws in place in the South not too many years ago.

So good to have Al back!

A call from my brother in Washington and he wants to visit at the end of March just before we go home.  He will pull a trailer so we need to find a place to park the trailer.  Amazing that he is coming at all because his wife does not want to be near any snow & they do go over a pass.   This is happy happy news.

Pat:
Thank you for the message today.  Words to live by each and every hour.  I am so sorry and pray for the family in the car crash.  Greetings to Paul from us!

Pat

Janet, wouldn't that be nice?  Maybe when we leave Marilyn's, we'll just hike down to Kansas and see you!  HAHAHA!

I've been sitting here wondering about Ken.  I do pray that he's experiencing the comfort of our Heavenly Father at Grandmother's funeral out west.

I've been interested in all of the different kinds of sandwiches - wow - have never heard of half of them. I think one of the ones I ate when I was young was balogna and strawberry jam. Funny, but I don't really like it now  :) I like the jam, but not the balogna.
Pat: yes, I've been praying for Ken too. This can't be an easy time for him. God will give him the strength though.
Pat and Judy: Sounds like a good trip. How much trunk space to you have - enough for everyone to tag along?

Yep, Betty!

We have an old bus stored out on the back 40!  So no need for a trunk.  Lots of seats in this big old bus!

Yes, how I wish we could just pick up and just take off to visit the members of this website.  All of you are so special.

My husband was not a sandwich person but his favorite was bologna, mayo and a pineapple slice!  Try it!  It is good!

My favorite lunch meat is pickle loaf with mayo but I have to have potato chips covering it and then the other slice of bread.  That way I can eat something else with my other hand at the same time as the sandwich and chips!!

I came out ahead at Euchre.  No need to go to the bank but I was a winner.  Really fun!

I am leaving in a few minutes to take Hawaii to be greased and an oil change.  I have over 6,000 miles on it.  The manual says you can go 7,000 between oil changes but I have always done it every 3,000 so why change.  Easy to remember...divisible by 3!

We started out being sunny but now it is over cast.  At least it isn't raining.

Pat, that old bus sure has covered lots of miles in the last few years, toting senior citizens all over the place!  Will you need an experienced navigator on this trip?

Pat I was wondering when you were going to bring out the old bus. You , Just and Ruth can take turns drive and make it here in 24 hours. I better go to the Bagel shop and buy 12 doz bagels. Will someone please bring the Cream Cheese? Oh and make sure you bring the camera, we will go out to the beach and try to catch a few waves (in our cameras of course)

Yeah, right!!  You surely do need Jeanne as navigator!

By the way .... you do know Nita and I are right here in the same neighborhood as Marilyn, don't you?
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

   We'll go over to Montana and pick up Ken.  Then go down to Denver and get Carol and maybe backtrack a bit and get Janet!

Oh, before that, we'll just duck down and get Larry and Pat in Georgia!

But, first I have to shew the chickens out of the bus.  There's so much straw in there and there's enough eggs for egg salad sandwiches on the trip to Marilyn's (and Jane and Nita's house).

We'll get down to visit Alan and Marbeth too!      C:-)

Don't forget to stop in Indiana to pick up Etta Sue and Iva Lou. I think Sarah and her little girl are in Kansas too.

I got Happy bathed and he surprised me by climbing into the tub all by himself I didn't even have to coax him When I took off his collar he got right in. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. He'll be 14 in May. I did find a hard lump under his tail that I have to ask the Vet about. I hope It isn't something serious. I can only afford the$220 I have to save up for him to have the blood tests sometime this year.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It was our normal busy Wednesday morning with Bible study and then an hour at the donut shoppe and then on to lunch at a buffet place with the group.  It was a very enjoyable morning.  It was after 1 pm when we got home and, of course, I had to rest for a couple of hours.  Then a little after 5 pm we are meeting another couple at the local pizza place.  Pat and will just have something to drink after having a big lunch but will enjoy visiting with our friends.  Our daughter saw the doctor who will put in her pacemaker/defibrillator and it will occur on March 6th.  She has to be at the hospital by 6:15 so we will have to set the alarm as we will have to take her. She will stay in the hospital overnight so we will be going to Atlanta two days in a row.

Judy, I expect that was some tense moments for John.  I am surprised that the needed equipment for the height wouldn't be standard outfitting of the trucks where it would apply.  Glad he didn't get a ticket.

Etta Sue, I am doing the read through he Bible in one year plan and it starts at the first book and goes straight through.  I am now in the book of Leviticus and will really be glad to get done with the endless descriptions of the sacrifices required in gruesome detail.  I can't get beyond what  mess that must have been and how harsh some of God's laws were to the Jewish people.  I get an e-mail each morning reminding me of the chapters to read and that is working very well as I keep the e-mail in the inbox that day until I have done the reading.  I like to do it first thing in the morning when it is quiet.

Pat and Judy, maybe you can get that magic schoolbus out of storage from years ago for your trip to see Marilyn.  Whoops, I see you found another old bus for the tirp.  Please do get the chickens out of the bus as it is warm down here and I know what a chicken shed smells like.  :)  I had never eaten pepper jelly until a couple of months ago and I really liked it.

Carol, nice to read that your brother is going to visit you while in Arizona.

Betty

Pat: The bus sounds good. We could eat different kinds of sandwiches all the way ... starting with chicken sandwiches. I could even bring my GPS although Jeanne would probably do a better job of navigating. My GPS has gotten me into some strange places ... sigh, would have to retire first.

Judy, my Dad was sounding very good tonight. He said recovering from the hernia surgery (last Friday) has not been very painful. Of course, he is comparing it to all of the pain he has been dealing with with the shingles. He still has pain from the shingles, but is still improving. Janet, I gave my copy of your book to Dad to read while he's recovering.

Our SIL has gone back to work half time today. His Still's Disease is under control because of the prednisone he's on right now.

We had a good snow storm today - it was snowing while I was in a meeting, but then cleared before having to drive home:)

Praying for everyone.
Betty

I just got home from my busy day.  I completed another painting today.  This one is large--18 x 24, and is of a mother and little girl walking on a beach.  It turned out very nice.  Next I am doing one of great granddaughter Lexi, holding a big pumpkin!

Pat, you wouldn't bypass me to go to Georgia first, after Denver, surely?!?!  I will really yell loud, so you can find me!  ;)  How I wish we could have a bash, or get-together, or whatever we want to call it!

We have been invited over to friends for chili for supper, and it's time to go.  See you later!

Hi, friends, while this "gospel bus" is circulating, please take I-24 from Atlanta to Nashville and pick me up before going on toward the west! :)

I've been busy with volunteering today, and now will be confined to home because of the rains tonight. I had hoped to be able to go to the Ash Wednesday service tonight.

Thus, will rest, and prepare to work on a project for my associate tomorrow. He needs it by Friday, so the deadline time is fairly short.

Well, y'all have a great evening,

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Carol

That sounds like a fun bus ride.  Janet, I will make sure that Pat picks you up this time.

Larry:  It sure sounds like a lot of driving for you regarding Stacey's surgery so I am going to mention that perhaps you can get a good deal on Hotwire for a motel room near the hospital.  We are sometimes pleasantly surprised when booking with them - or, Hotels.com too.

Getting ready for a cousin & husband to arrive for three days.  There is a massive art show in this town this weekend.  I mean, 200,000 people pour into a town of 20,000.  We will save a parking space for them - my cousin.

I have a little pamphlet from this church on Lenten readings and it begins today - Ash Wednesday.
