JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Etta Sue:  Aaaaachooooo  - hope you are better very soon.

Wishing we had a Chick-Fil-A closer - most I know are in the malls.

Don painted the walls in the garage yesterday and planned to do the hanging storage rack - it is huge - in dark brown.  Well, it is a reddish brown and he had paint all over his head & under his nose that looked like a beaten man.  After a long shower with a lot of scrubbing, he is normal once again.  Thankful.  Anyway, I kept cleaning a corner that was wet and we called the water department because it looks like the water meter is leaking outside.  So --- all is stopped right now.

Larry:  all those staples, now that is a medical story.

What a difference 24 hours and a few pills make!!  I am among the living again!  I slept until 10am, ate breakfast and read my Bible devotions.  Then headed to the dining room.  Curtains and windows are cleaned and all the wood is polished along with the glass polished.  Carpet is swept and spot cleaned.  Even mopped the entry.  Took me longer than I thought but I did talk with Ivalou on the phone for 54 minutes!  I had to cut her off when I remembered I was on my cell and I am at the end of my cell phone cycle.  Sure didn't want to go over my minutes and pay that price.

And I have sent out emails and put on Facebook about FROGGS.  This is the 8th Annual FROGGS.  Friends and Relatives Of Grandma and Grandpa Stevenson.  My county still has an open fire ban so we can't have a wiener roast but we can have gas or charcoal grills...to me that is more dangerous than where we have an open fire.  I know we need rain but please, God, no rain after noon Saturday, Aug 11.

That's it!

This is good for those with colds or coughing. hold the cup  in your hands and breathe in the steam as you drink the tea.

You will need: fresh ginger root, black tea bag & whole cloves. 1 qt. pan; 3/4's full of water.
Sear ginger root, put in water & boil water for tea.
Throw in 2 or 3 whole cloves while boiling water.
Boil approximately 10 minutes.
Add Black Tea bag to strength desired.

Despite an appearance to the conrary, I've been reading every day, with a stop here and there to pray.  I'm still feeling the affects of thst cold.  It rumbles around in my lungs and sometimes keeps me awake at night. Oh come soon Lord Jesus!

Hi everyone.  We have a 60 percent chance of rain today and I sure hope we get some of the 60 percent.  The last couple of evenings there has been rain around the area but has missed us except for some thunder.  I will go to coffee in a few minutes and hope to feel up to attending a meeting this morning and that will be it for the day.  Yesterday afternoon two of our good friends from church called and then stopped by for a nice visit.  We enjoyed having them there.  Yesterday I made my first potato salad, including boiling the eggs for it.  It turned out well with potato's (we find canned potato's work very well), celery, fresh red bell pepper, green onions and the dressing.  There sure was a lot of chopping and I thought when I got through and saw the small salad it made that was a lot of work for such little results.  However, it was tasty and went well with the hamburger and fresh cucumbers and onions and a lettuce salad.  Pat makes her own sausage and I will fry some of it so it is available for several coming days for her breakfast.  I expect to watch some of the Olympics and also read on a novel that I am coming into the last part of it.  It is pretty good.

Pat finished up her second week of therapy and will have two more in-home sessions next week and then two or three weeks of therapy where we go to it.  Everyday I see progress that she is making.  However, yesterday was a recovery day from the trip downtown and to the pharmacy the day before, which left her really tired.

Carol, I always hated to paint over my head, not that I ever did a lot of it.  I expect everything is looking great in your garage.  Hope they find the cause of the water leak quicikly.

Etta Sue, glad to see you were feeling better last evening.  You sure must have been to do all that additional cleaning.

Marilyn, that sounds like quite a recipe for the cold remedy.  It sounds very pungent.

Al, sounds like you need some of Marilyn's tea brew.  Hope you will soon feel better.

Janet

Good to read all the new posts since I was here yesterday.  I had the laser procedure on my left eye yesterday, and for less than a 2 minute procedure, Darrel and I spent about seven hours of waiting.  Ugh.  I'm glad it's done, and will go back to local eye doc in a week for a check on pressure and to see if I need new glasses.  Bad news was that I have the beginnings of Macular Degeneration, so he recommended some special vitamins for that, hope it will slow the progression of it.

I dislike painting over my head, too--really painful for the neck and shoulders!  Carol, hope the source of the leak was found and stopped.

Etta Sue, glad to see you are feeling better.  Enjoy your FROGGS meeting!

I read on Facebook that Ulysses had rain--but here at my house, less than three miles away, we had nothing but lightning and an occasional roll of thunder!   :(  No fair!!  But it does seem to be a little cooler today, so that's a blessing.

Al!  Good to see you!  Hope your lungs are soon all clear!  And I agree--Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

I am reading another really good book, called Seven Days, by Mike Evans.  It is like reading today's news headlines or watching the news!  Really good--I want to finish it today!  Scary, but good!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

It is a great and cool morning here and finally down from the 90's but that will heat up again this week.  I even wore a denim shirt on my morning walk.  Feels so good...

Janet:  Sorry for your macular degeneration diagnosis.  I don't know much about it but only that there are so many new ideas to combat the outcome.  Strength and faith.  We have a friend who has experienced this for years and still drives and reads with larger print or pulling the news closer.

We did find the leak and it is where the roofers must have moved the downspout so Don climbed the ladder while I held it - now, how good is that if he fell.  I thought that for sure I would protect his head but sure did not want him to fall on me... we are careful so don't worry.  A bunch of putty is the bandage for the leak.

I am bathing dogs today, 1 down and 1 more to go. Happy is under Keith's desk so I can take a little break here. Yesterday on Facebook I found out that my best friend had passed away on July 16th and not one family member notified me. I was so upset and am very sad to lose such a great prayer partner. You may remember me asking for prayer for my friend Kitty several times over the years.

Taking a break!  The kitchen is a lot of up and down....need rest in between the up and the down!

Marilyn ~ The day that my cold was the worse I could hardly hold my head up let alone a cup of tea!  Besides I only had the pan and the water...none of the other ingredients.  Have never bought them either!  I know you are into healthy recipes but I find the healthy ones are too costly!

My back hurts because I painted all the living room, dining room, kitchen and utility room ceilings in one day back when I was vamping up this house in 2001!  My back still hurts when I just stand.  I thank God that the pain goes away when I sit or sometimes even lean on a wall.  I have noticed since I have lost a few pounds that it doesn't hurt near as bad but painting ceilings is what started it!

I am still having problems with my left eye....watering, and some pain at times.  Ivalou goes to the same eye doctor this coming Wednesday so I am going to ask if I have a bad left eye day, if I can come in and have Dr. Miller look at it.  It comes and goes and I am using eye drops like I was told to use.  But it isn't stopping!

Neighbor Jane came last night and brought a picture of our choral group at the Murat Temple in downtown Indy when Jane was in the 6th grade and I was in the 4th grade.  She needed the names of 4 girls and a boy.  I helped her with two girl names.  The others, I saw pictures in annuals but those annuals didn't have names...that's weird, right?

Well, I am rested...time to get busy again!

I am writing this with my blackberry. I have lost the motherboard in my computer. As well the external 56k modem. That is not bad to whaty some lost. Ruth lost her satelite modem, she had a direct hit to the phone transformer outside her house. She isn't sure if her satelite dish is ok. We both will be going to the library as there is frree wifi there, still that is quite a drive for both of us.
