JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Hi everyone.  Had a good nights sleep and since we are no longer doing coffee at McDonald's on Saturday morning I was able to sleep in until about 8 this morning, which was enjoyable.  I had another good day yesterday so am greatly encouraged.  I think my body must be adjusting to the new pacemaker/defibrillator and the added pacing of the other side of the heart.  Not much planned for today other than attend a meeting this morning and a quick stop at the Dollar General store that is on the way to get a couple of items.  Then I will enjoy football games this afternoon and evening and rest.  I really have a rough life don't I?  :)

Etta Sue, the pressure washing of your porch sounds like it was almost too much for you.  Hope you have no carryover effects today.  Almost sounds like you got over tired yesterday as you did so much.  Enjoy the fish fry tonight.

Carol, people sitting near you must indicate your good humor and friendliness shine forth even in a dark theater.  Sounds like you are staying in a nice place.

Ruth Ann, always nice to read that you have had a good day.  The money does seem to have a way of flying out of our pockets.

A special hi to all who join us here today.  If you are just looking in and have registered for the site please write a few lines so we can begin to know you.  We always have open arms to others joining in our discussion if they observe the guidelines to keep this a safe, God centered place.

Carol

We slept well in this very quiet place and it is dark and a drizzle rain outside.

Larry:  LOL, I never thought of it that way.  Also, I have never thought of your getting used to a different defibrillator.   So, they are not all the same.

Heading to the beach after a bit.

TO ME!

Ha! Ha!  Yep!  Today is the day I start living in my 8th decade!!

Marge called me while at the beauty shop and cancelled our fish fry outing.  Storm predictions and she didn't want to be driving in the storm or us standing in line in the rain.  So Ivalou and I pigged out at the China Buffet!

It rained all afternoon and evening but really got serious with lightening, thunder and wind after dark!  I have a few limbs...twigs in the yard and there sure is lots of wet outside.  My sump pump ran all night and morning!

Charlene called me soon after I was out of bed.  She brought me a gift around 10am bringing her granddaughter, Makena, and her Mom, Charlotte.  They didn't stay long.

And then Ivalou and I went to Art's Pizza in Anderson.  When Ivalou's husband, then fiancee, came home from Crete in the Navy during the 50's, he introduced us to pizza pie!  Remember it used to be 'pie'?  About the same time Art's Pizza opened in Anderson.  It was just a walk-in place, order your pizza, wait and take it home to eat.  Best pizza in the world!  It still is only now it is a pizza restaurant.  Ivalou and I almost ate a large pizza with Diet Pepsi!

And KMart is still close to Art's so we went there.  I found a blue jean jacket...I didn't even look at the price, tried it on, it fit and put it in the basket!  I had my grocery list for Euchre and got some items on the list.  Ivalou was wanting some vegetation killer but KMart didn't have any.

So we went to Walmart...she found what she wanted.

Then Dollar General in Lapel for some milk!

And home.  I am home for the day.  Ivalou has an alumni dinner from high school to attend this evening.  It's for anyone graduating from Lapel during the 50's.  I am too young...I graduated in 1960!  tsk! tsk!

That's it.  Now to go check Facebook.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Al Moak

Thanks for saying that, Jane - that way I can tag along with a metoo.

Thanks for the birthday wish....even with my prompting!

My birthday was great.  Ivalou and I had a wonderful time...laughing and joking around...just like old days.  Made my day memorable!

I crocheted and watched TV in the evening.

Now to wait another year and I can do it again!  Birthdays are wonderful...the older you get, the more you have!

I am ready for church and ready to head out the door.  This evening at 5pm we are having a church picnic outside and then go into the sanctuary for a Hymn Sing!

Hi everyone.  Another week has flown by and we have a sunny morning with the forecast of some cooler days ahead.  I am planning on attending church later this morning and will then get something for lunch to bring back home.  I was happy to see Georgia University win their football game last evening with the University of Missouri.   Nothing else planned for today other than watching some of the pro football games.

Etta Sue, sorry I didn't see it was your birthday yesterday until after I had posted.  Hope you had a wonderful time.  Sounds like quite a storm you had a couple of nights ago.  Hope your church picnic this evening is most enjoyable and the weather cooperates.

Etta Sue  Happy Birthday!

Today is John's last day off on holidays....It has been so good to have the time together.  It will be hard to see him back on the road!

Be back later with a new Thoughts!

Janice

Hello friends, Janice here.  Been a while since I was here. Sorry I have not been able to keep up very well.

Happy Grandparents Day to all you Grandparents!  My Gr-dtr made dinner for me today, how nice of her,
I had forgotten it was this day.  My dtr is in El Paso since a week ago Friday, and will be coming home by tonight, otherwise she would have been with us for dinner.  On Sunday it is dinner at noon!

Happy Birthday yesterday, Etta Sue.  You are still a spring chicken compared to me!

I read the postings for this week.  I hope all the sick ones are better, and all the travelers have safe journeys.  I am doing OK I guess, too much stress and tummy acid though.  A week ago tonight near midnight I had a terrific chest pain and high blood pressure so I called my gr-dtr to come.  She called 911 and 4 EMTs came.  They did an EKG, not heart related, just acid reflux, but still high blood pressure.  Saw my doctor Tuesday and he prescribed a better antacid, and a relaxer.  I think he said it was Xanax.  My doctor is so special, he prays for me!  I stopped taking it yesterday when I found that my heart rate was 38.  An hour later it was 39....too much relaxing!  It is better now, was 50 this morning which is about normal for me.  And BP is good again too.

Another friend passed away Friday, it seems like this year has been filled with friends and family members passing away.  Earl's best friend died just 3 days after he did.  Our dtr-in-law's son died in July, after a 9 month struggle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was 32 years old.  I was not able to go to the funeral at Amarillo because of having a bad case of the BPV, like some of you have had.  I have had it off and on for 33 years.  It has been especially bad this year.  But God is faithful, and gives me strength to endure.

Janet, thank you for contacting me recently. I am glad that John is there to visit Beth, I know they are enjoying his visit.  He sounds like a very special young man.

I got an alarm system for my house and myself.  After my husband died, I felt the need to make it safer here.  Last year when he was in hospital awhile, and I was there with him, someone came into our house and stole some money that was locked up, but they found the key.  Someone around here knew where he was, and where I was during that time.  Dtr and I examined all windows and doors, and no sign of entry. It is as though they had a key or something.  I never did tell Earl about it, as I knew he would worry about me.

I also have a puppy now, since the end of  March.  Jackie is almost 7 months old.  She is a Boston Terrier, and she's the most hyper little girl I ever saw!  Even the vet was taken back by her being so hyper.  She wants to jump all over you and play.  I will be glad when she slows down!  My step-dtr and her dtr came to visit me this summer and Jackie got so excited she threw up.

Must go, y'all have a good night and a better tomorrow!
~Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Janice:  How good to hear from you.  It sure sounds like you are doing all the right things in regards to staying close to the family and friends, keeping safe and now have a puppy to keep you company and active.  My best to you!
