JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Yesterday was very enjoyable.  The food was fantastic...lots of looking in the souvenir area...if you couldn't find it, you don't need it type place.  The weather was perfect after it stopped drizzling.  The show was super great.  George Dyer is a singer at Branson.  Quite the entertainer and not bad to look at either...with only him and three musicians on stage.  Great show.

Now today I am taking Ivalou for tests.  She got a call saying her blood work showed high potassium and so I need to take her back to the nurse's office to get another blood test.  Then to Noblesville for her mammogram, the same building for her bone density test.  Then the same building but a different entrance, her x-ray on her left shoulder!

By then we will be starved!!  Don't know where we will eat but somewhere before returning home!

Well, after the busy day yesterday, I've taken today for rest and relaxation.

Hope all have a wonderful rest of the day with our blessed Lord.

This cold has really taken hold of me. Get thee behind me Satan!!! This is NOT MY cold, I am not claiming it.

Here is the link to  another of my websites where I have posted the challenges from my group there are only twelve pages so far but if you click on the thumbnails  that will take you to that page.

I posted this already, but it did not show up, so I will try again.  If both posts get processed, you will know why.

Good evening to all.
I learned some good news, a new great grandchild will be arriving in our family, but I don't know yet when he/she is due..  We had given up having one to carry on Earl's family name.  He had six gr-dtrs but only two grandsons, and only one of them had his last name.  Now...at age 37 Shawn and his wife are expecting (finally!).  I wish Earl could have known that.  Of course I do not know the gender yet though.

Another bit of news today, an answered prayer for sure.  Our daughter Elaine came by to see me after work, and it was her last day.....she is officially retired now!  I have been so concerned for her health, her job was ruining her health....all that stress and overtime. She had not told me that the agency had offered an early out, as it is the end of the fiscal year for Social Security.  She did the math and decided it was OK to go ahead and retire effective the 30th.  She worked in SSI area of the work, the hardest and most stressful part of the agency.  She paid off her house several years ago, so that is a big part of the decision, no mortgage payments.

Al, I remembered that you mentioned it is good for a church to raise up its own pastor.  This has happened,  more or less, at our previous church.  After we were gone from that church, they had the problem of many short term pastors, so they finally called one of their own young deacons to be pastor.  We knew him and his wife well.  They attended Earl's funeral service, and after the service was over and people greeting and consoling us, he told me that it was because of Earl that they stayed in that church.  They had originally intended to just visit as they wanted to visit other churches as well.  But, he said, Earl was so friendly towards them that they decided to look no further.  He was then a young Christian, and grew enough in his walk with the Lord that the church called him to be pastor.  I was so pleased to hear that.  Earl was very friendly and an encourager as well.

Blessings to all,
~Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

That's good news, Janice.  Ideally, a man should be recognized by his gifts among the congregation.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I awoke to a dark and overcast morning.  We heard some thunder last evening but only a few drops of rain.  Pat ordered two new bedspreads but when I put them on the bed she didn't like the color nor the loose weave and so we have them packaged back up and will return them the first of the week.  Unfortunately we have to pay the postage for the return but did get them from Prime so haven't had to pay postage two ways (at least directly).  I plan on attending a meeting this morning and that is likely the schedule for today unless Pat wants to go somewhere or we decide to eat out for lunch or dinner.  I will be watching college footaball games this afternoon and evening. Pat was really suffering yesterday and could hardly walk but seems to be doing better this morning.  In some ways she is better and in others she seems to be getting worse.

Etta Sue, sorry to read of the continued and new problems for Ivalou.

Marilyn, hope you are feeling better from your cold today.  Thanks for sharing your website.

Janice, new great grandchildren are a wonderful privilege of growing older. I doubt that your daughter will ever regret taking the early retirement.  Stress does a number of people and my heart doctor told me he believes it was a major contributor to my heart issues.  What a wonderful tribute to Earl from your pastor.

Since Ivalou's blood draw and mammogram were scheduled an hour apart, I asked at the doctor's office if I could get my flu shot.  So I did get it and glad that is over.  The nurse asked me if I had had a flu shot before.  I told her that more times than she is years old.  I think the flu shots started for me in the early 70's.  My employment gave them to us free from a nearby doctor that came to the factory.  I have only missed one year...and that's the year I got the flu.  I said to myself...Never again!  My husband had a heart attack in 1979 and both of us got the flu shot in the fall.  Both of us felt yucky for about 6 weeks...we went to work but did a lot of resting also.  All those other years....the flu shot was wonderful!

Today I am just doing piddly jobs including a couple of loads of laundry.  I have some dead lilac bushes that I want to prune before the leaves fall off.  Maybe....I will trim the maple tree that the tree trimmer was suppose to top.  I am tired of running into the low leaves when walking or on the mower!  Then that will mean I need to go to the woods to take the limbs.

Kaye Don and Barb were to leave this morning for Florida and not return until next April or May.  I haven't been out to see if they are gone or not but I presume they are!  His motorcycle was on the trailer yesterday...he likes to ride it here and in Florida.

Nice and sunny today.  I turned off the heat pump...it was getting warm in here.  The trees are really turning beautiful colors...reds, oranges, yellows.  Just a few wispy clouds in the sky but bright and sunny!

I am doing some better, I have been taking Mucinex every 4 hours while I am away, 1500mgs of Vitamin C twice a day and the Cold ease  every 3-4 hours. I forgot about raw garlic being a natural antibiotic. Well I just ate a garlic flower and it sure was hot.  I don't think I will be doing that again.

We did go out for dinner last evening but came home without hanging around to chat like we usually do. Here is a link comparing  my first photo before using Sensa and 6 month is the other. Took the new photos  yesterday. I can sure see the difference in my body as well as my attitude. Check out the facial expressions. Click Here
