Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Ivalou got an hour massage yesterday.  I got a pedicure while she was doing that.  The two stores are almost next to each other.  The massage therapist said that Ivalou's right arm is almost out of joint from using it so much while her left arm (rotator cuff) was healing.  She has another appointment the 28th.  Ivalou said she felt better already!

Ivalou has been stumbling and staggering a lot lately.  On our way home from Florida, I told her that she needs to swing her arms when walking.  I reminded her that after her stroke she was told to swing her arms to help her balance.  After rotator cuff surgery she couldn't swing that arm and she got so used to not doing it that it was normal for her to not swing.  Swinging her arms has helped a lot.  I do think she needs to walk more but not outside yet!

Today I have a doctor appointment.  Then I am calling Betty and tell her I am on my way to her house.  Then we will eat at Hamilton Town Center Shopping Mall.  After that we will head to Brown County and Cornerstone Inn.  The Clarksville Christian Church Women's Retreat is the next couple of days.  This years theme is Cozy Mountain Lodge.  And I heard we are going to study Ruth.  I love the book of Ruth.

I am taking my laptop so I may or may not be online.  We come home Saturday.

My Mother would be 100 years old today!!!

Until Then

(Click to hear music)

Words and music by Stuart Hamblen

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a trail that's winding always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.

Chorus
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.

The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there, will only bring a smile.

Chorus
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.

This weary world with all its toil and struggle
May take its toll of misery and strife:
The soul of man is like a waiting falcon--
When it's released, it's destined for the skies.

Chorus:
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.

Beautiful hymn, Judy.  Thanks!

Now if your folks in Canada would just stop pushing that cold air down here....    ;D

It's so windy here today.  My windows are "new-ish" so don't rattle but I'm sure if they hadn't been replaced a few years ago, they'd be rattling and rattling.

I have a couple of errands to do and then lock myself inside my cosy house for the night and leave the wind outside.

I had a real workout again today--intervals!  Whew!  Walked/ran over two miles in 30 minutes, keeping my heart rate above 120, and up to 145!

We just got back from lunch at the senior center--chili and cinnamon rolls today, yum!  And we had a guest speaker who talked to us about Alzheimer's--what it is, what to look for (symptoms) how to treat/relate to those who have it, etc.  Very informative.

I am going to rest a bit, then go see Beth, and maybe interview another lady for the Treasures series.  I will come back and post the last one I did, too.

See you later!

Hi everyone.  It is late afternoon and the first chance I have had to get to the computer.  Today was the big day we made the trip back to the surgeon in Atlanta.  It was a hard trip on Pat, after a night where she couldn't sleep, but all went well.  We dropped Mary off at Stacey's apartment so they could visit while we were at the doctor's.  They x-rayed her hip and all is fine.  However, she still has a place in the incision the doctor wants to monitor but hopefully it will clear up soon.  They did remove the staples.  As soon as we got home we took a nap and Pat is still sleeping. It has been a beautiful, but cool day here.

I have read all the posting up until now but it is late so will pass on individual replies for today.  Tomorrow should be less hectic.

Janet

Larry, it is so good to read your GOOD report!

Yep, Pat, I can still run!  I was to run hard for 30 seconds, then slow down and recover for two minutes; repeating for a full 30 minutes.  The running was mostly at 4.5 to 4.8 MPH.  Puff, puff!! :P  Now guess whose legs are sore?  ;)

Boy, what a beautiful day we have had, with an even warmer one in the works for tomorrow, or so they say!  Then back into the cooler on Saturday.

See you later!  :hello:

Janet:  I am reading Joel Rosenburg's Implosion rather slowly.

I just read that Adrienne from SeniorNet died.  Don and I met her in San Francisco and had such a nice visit on the pier with her - she had recently written that there was a spot of cancer perhaps on either her lungs or breast cancer - I can't remember.

We are back from the ocean.  It is still there although it sure is hard to find places to park and walk to the water anymore.  So much is private streets that end with no way to walk - although the beaches are public and just difficult to find a place to walk down to the water.  We did - enjoy even the fog that stayed for three days.  The clock in the motel room ran backwards so that was a hoot - and our water was only warm once in three days but it was better than camping with sand in everything.  cool out there and 90 degrees when we came back here.  Had a great but short visit with an old friend - she had a back problem so we didn't go and see them until the afternoon before leaving.

We also accidently drove on a "Thru" sign right up to the Pendleton Marine Base and the stopped traffic to let us turn around  (the Marine did have a little smile).  That is the 2nd. time we have done this - once at a Navy base.  Sometimes they are so hidden.  Our GPS was wrong several times and I had to ask for directions and no one knew anything until one person said, Oh I know where you should be....   an angel is always there watching over us.

Larry:  I wish you could come back to CO ---

Huge Error

I am mistaken about Adrienne from San Francisco dying this week.  Now, I have been told that this is another woman by the same name in California.  I am so sorry to pass along the wrong information.

Carol

Pat

Carol, this is terrible news of Adrienne.  When I read your post I went to FB and searched and searched and can't find in any of my friends that she died.  Can you share where you read it?  I hope it's not true.  :(

EDIT:  Whewwww...  Thanks so much, Carol.  I can see that happening too.  I'm just so happy to find out that it's not so.

I used my pen today, Carol.  Please tell Don, it's my very best pen in the whole world.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I think this week has been jam-packed with appointments, taking others to appointments, picking up my trucker son who will be here a few days, etc. And, the heavy schedule will continue for a few more days.

WHEW!! I may need to consider "retiring from retirement!"

I read every post, enjoyed the pictures, hymns, devotional thoughts from when I was last here. I didn't realize I had missed coming for so long until my virus protection program reminded me that the last time I had updated was 3 days ago. So, the computer has rested for 3 days without my hands touching it...

And, the schedule picks up again tomorrow with breakfast with relatives from out of town. So, I'd better close things down again and sleep fast once again. :)

Much love and appreciation to all,
Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Well, I am at Cornerstone Inn in Nashville, IN. I think I woke up at least 50 times last night.  We have a free afternoon.  Bet I take a nap!

There are 32 women here....some new ones and some that have been here before.  Lots of fun.

If your church has Women's Retreat, I say, 'Go!'  It is so much fun to learn your sisters outside of church.

It's about time to go down to the lower level for breakfast!

Adrienne Jonas had a biopsy this week.  They detected cancer by a mammogram but thought the biopsy would get rid of the cancer.

Unto Him Who Hath Loved Us
(Click to hear music)

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Rev. 1:5,6

Author: Arthur T. Pierson, 1837-1911
Musician:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876

With harps and with viols,
there stands a great throng
In the presence of Jesus,
and sings this new song:

Refrain:
Unto Him who hath loved us
and washed us from sin,
Unto Him be the glory
for ever. Amen.

All these once were sinners,
defiled in His sight,
Now arrayed in pure garments
in praise they unite:

He maketh the rebel
a priest and a king,
He hath bought us and taught us
this new song to sing:

How helpless and hopeless
we sinners had been,
If He never had loved us
till cleansed from our sin:

Aloud in His praises
our voices shall ring,
So that others believing,
this new song shall sing:

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia and is suppose to warm up this afternoon to 72 degrees.  I was gone almost all morning because after coffee I had to take a prescription to the main Kaiser Pharmacy and made a quick stop at Dollar General.  Nothing else on the schedule for today.

Janet, you are fortunate to still be able to run and have overall good health.

Carol, I sure was relieved to read on in the messages and find that it wasn't Adrienne who had died.    Glad you had a good time at the ocean.  I wish we were able to come back to Colorado also but just wouldn't risk it.  Neither Pat nor I have been up to traveling more than going down to see Stacey for quite awhile.  It takes a lot of energy to travel.

Ruth Ann, can we retire from retirement? :)  It sounds like you may need to learn to use the word "no" as it is a complete sentence.  Please don't jeopardize your own health.

Etta Sue, sorry you didn't sleep well at the Inn.

Pat and Judy, always pleasant to see your postings.

Jeanne Lee

PLEASE!  You folks in Canada!!!  Stop sending more winter weather in this direction!  It's cold and snowing with a light covering on the ground again and I just know it's your fault!   :clobber:

Sigh!  Actually I know very well this is normal for this time of year.  The calendar even says spring doesn't start until next week and that never really means a thing anyway.  I should be used to this by now, I guess.  ;)

Cold here too, Jeanne!  :)  The wind is blowing hard.  But doesn't the old rhyme say, "March winds bring April showers which bring May flowers"??

Put on an extra sweater.  LOL

It's not windy today, Pat.  Just cold and snowing.  And I'm warm and comfy here in the house and very glad I don't need to go out for anything today.  I may even mix up some muffins to go with a cuppa later this evening.  That should put me in a better mood, doncha think?   :D

Janet

Jeanne, pretend I am sitting across the table from you with a cuppa  :coffee: and we can just have a really nice visit!  I would love that!

Pat, want to call me this afternoon?

Ruth Ann, I agree with what Larry said, though I'm not good at saying "no" myself. You really do need to take it eaqsier!

Yes, Larry, not a day goes by without my praising God for my health.  I do well know how blessed I am.

It's been a busy morning, but now I think I'm home for the duration of the day.

Carol, I hadn't seen Joel Rosenberg's Implosion, but would love to read that one, too.  I could hardly put Damascas Countdown down at all!  Wow!

I have been told.... many times..... to say no...... That's O.K., I would be LOOKING for things to do, otherwise!

Pat, Thank you for the "hi!"

Yesterday we went down to Barrie, about 140 Miles (226 km). Everett wanted to get something from a store in Barrie (they were sold out!!) and then we went to an all you can eat Chinese Restaurant (The Mandarin) Delicious.....

Janet, I'm 69, this year and used to run everywhere at work; I don't have anywhere to run around here so I don't even know if I could!!  There are too many hills and sharp curves on the road so I cannot go and try there. I can still run up and down stairs; maybe I should do that more rather than when I have to....

We are getting warmer temperatures, up here, and I hear the maple trees are producing sap...... so that will be great on the french toast!!

Jeanne Lee

The banana nut muffins are out of the oven and cooling.  It's tempting to fill up on them instead of a nutritious meal, but I'll be good.

Janet, come on over.  Will you have coffee or tea?  Wouldn't we have a wonderful chat if we could really share a cuppa and a muffin - or more than one of each.

Ruth, way back when I was only 69 I had a lot more energy and did my share of running around.  But I'm afraid those days are gone.  God has said "Slow down now, and let some of the younger folks do the running."
