Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hi everyone on this 4th of July.  Apparently North Augusta doesn't allow fireworks in the City Limits and we didn't hear anything last night.  Fireworks are legal in South Carolina. Tonight will be the test.

We have a cloudy morning with the possibility of more rain today.  So far we have had about 1 3/4 inches of rain the last couple of days.  I have turned off the watering set for Monday as certainly won't need it. Yesterday was a day of no accomplishments as I woke up very tired and stayed that way all day.  I spent a considerable amount of time laying down and went to bed early last night.  So far I am feeling better this morning after about 7 hours of sleep.  Nothing on the schedule for today except a visit by what I hope will be our new housekeeper.  I will probably tune in to the golf tourney this afternoon.

Yesterday was a very difficult day for our son as he had to go to the cremation society to finish the paperwork.  I had offered to go with him but at the last moment he decided that wasn't necessary.  He then came home and started looking at cremation urns on the Internet.  He came over late in the afternoon and asked us to help him, which we tried, but he is still looking.  He stayed and had dinner with us. He will go back to work late this afternoon and I expect will sleep in this morning.  He said he had a very good nights sleep on Thursday night and it was almost noon when he awoke but felt very depressed.  He did assure us last night that he will be alright.

Ruth Ann, I cannot imagine spending 7 hours at Walmart.  Do you have some type of  light weight cart to put the groceries in so you don't have to carry them?  Hope you can rest today.

Ed, interesting information regarding insurance claims.  I don't think I ever would have thought about doing that.

Hi, friends,

It's been quiet here at the Bice domain today. :)

We had a storm pass through earlier, but looks as if the big fireworks celebration with the Nashville Symphony and various actors and musical artists will go on, starting in just a few moments. It's really nice to be able to sit on my bedside, look out my window, and watch the sky as it lights up with the fireworks. So nice to be comfortable and get a clear view rather than be downtown with the expected crowd of 300,000.

Yes, Larry, we have a few grocery shopping carts available to us. We can take our groceries to our apartments and then are expected to return the cart to the storage area for its next use.

That sounds like good advice about loss of personal items during an accident. I'll be sure to remember it.

Y'all have a good rest of the day.

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone on this Lord's Day.  It is suppose to be nice today with a high of only 88 this afternoon.  There is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm but we had that yesterday and it didn't rain.  I had another down day yesterday until late in the afternoon.  I watched a great 4th of July program put on by the South Carolina Educational Network (PBS) and it was a lot better than the Capitol 4th celebration that followed it.  I thought most of the musical performances were pretty terrible until towards the end of the program when the great pianist Ling Ling played Rhapsody in Blue with the Symphony Orchestra and then the performances that followed.  I had a really good night's sleep last night, the best for quite awhile and arose feeling tip-top this morning.  We will attend Sunday School and church and then plan on going to Pizza Hut, where Scott is working, so we can check on him and give him a couple of big hugs.  Will come home and rest and then watch the end of the Greenbrier Golf Tournament.

We met with the housekeeper yesterday afternoon and her husband came along and he and I had a nice conversation while the ladies went over the house.  So we now have a housekeeper.  This is a big relief to both Pat and I.  She has been doing this kind of work for 30 years and came recommended from one of the men I have coffee with who has used her services for a long time.

Ruth Ann, nice you could watch the fireworks from the comfort of your own apartment.  I didn't hear any fireworks close by but did hear from far off booms last night.  In the apartment house where Stacey lived for about 6 years they had some grocery carts available but sometimes you couldn't find them as people wouldn't return them to the basement area.  They really helped.

We had the final sermon on Afterlife this morning - such a well-spoken pastor - he speaks without any notes & knows his stuff.  Still, we don't care for the music as we don't recognize anything anymore.  Tough for us oldsters.

The national concert really woke up with the performance of Ling Ling (I believe that it his name).  And, one wonderful gal sang twice.  What a fantastic fireworks display - prayers answered that nothing happened to interrupt our celebrations.

We came home and had to moved outdoor furniture and stuff as tomorrow the entire house is to be power washed - then it will dry for painting.  Our house is brick but there is a lot of trim - the HOA has this painted every five years and it really doesn't need it except for windows where hail damaged the trim.

Larry:  Good news for your finding a housekeeper as that will take the load off Pat.  Send Scott a few hugs from all of us - I know others would like to be of some comfort besides our prayers for peace.
