Hi Everyone.  It is a cloudy morning but we only have a low chance of rain.  I am just going to check in this morning as used up most of my energy getting my bath this morning. I am listening to our Church service from last week.  It is recorded on Sunday morning but not available on the website until towards the end of the week.

Greetings Jackie  My pleasure to be of service, as the saying goes!

I tend to retire late, after the late night house tidying is completed.  As most of the techy gadgets automatically change the time, I do wrist watches and wall clocks.

Greetings Larry   Splendid seeing your post.

Hi Everyone on this April 1st.  It looks we will have a mostly cloudy morning and then a sunny afternoon with a high only to 60 degrees. I am hoping to have a much better day than yesterday. The unstable angina started again yesterday afternoon and evening.  It never got too bad but just uncomfortable.  I hope to have a little more energy for today but so far that has not been the case.  Pat had set out my breakfast tray last evening so I only had to get a couple of things from the refrigerator.  Scott was coming out yesterday afternoon but never made it as he fell asleep and didn't awaken until after 7 pm and that was too late so he said he would try to get out sometime today.  He has today and tomorrow off from work so hope he can spend a few hours with us. I am going to have to just check in for today or at least limit my comments.

Greetings Everyone  Two posts in a row from me!

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone on a rainy, chilly but otherwise nice morning and we are to see the sunshine by mid-afternoon.  We were suppose to get up an inch or more of rain last night but have no idea whether we did or not.  I have managed to get a few things done this morning such as emptying the top rack of the dishwasher and fold up a few rags that Pat had washed that will be needed by our housekeeper when she gets here Friday.  I have several other small projects I would like to do or get started on this morning but other than fill my medicine boxes for the next two weeks they are not high priority.  Scott did make it our yesterday morning and stayed until about 2:30 when he had to go home and get ready for work.  I think when I wrote here yesterday that it was Wednesday morning and not Monday morning. He worked on his mother's computer and fixed it so she can use Chrome on it.

Ellie, glad to see your posting as always and your greeting to me.

Greetings Larry  A pleasure my friend.

Freckles looks and smells great.(she went to the groomer yesterday) Today I will be working at the hospice office for a couple of hours. The caregiver/housekeeper called and was going to ER about her blood sugar. She has more trouble with her Blood sugar. She only comes once a week now mostly for the cleaning, I  have so much back pain when I have to vacuum. However, I don't seem to have a problem bending to clean the litter boxes or make the bed.

Hi Everyone.  We have a beautiful sunny day today with a high expected of 73.  We are looking forward to Scott being with us later this afternoon and early evening.  Other than that I expect it to be a pretty quiet day.

Good morning Ellie.  I hope you all are having some very nice weather.

Marilyn, it is always nice to get our pets groomed and bathed.  Sweeping carpets is not an easy job.  I haven't tried to sweep floors for several years except with a little light weight broom and dustpan for spot pickup.  I hope you enjoyed your work at the hospice office.  I expect there is a lot of record keeping needed in such an office.

I was thinking of Janet and Darrel this morning and have sort of lost track of how many days they have been on their trip.  I expect it at least over.  I was also thinking of Ruth Ann and hope her move went well and that she will help in keeping her new apartment set up.  Also thinking of Judy and John and our dear Pat.  I hope she is now recovered enough to leave rehab.

Greetings Larry  Not a good weather day on the Isle of Man today.  We have rain now and again and a high of 52F.  In fact, some parts of the United Kingdom had snow this morning.

I use a battery sweeper, light to use and it does a good job!

Jacqueline

No snow here but, we was met with some hailstones on our way in the car between Dorset and Somerset this evening...

Greetings Everyone  I think it will be another day at home for us, rain due, though some sunshine this morning.  I noticed when shopping a few days ago that there were Easter Eggs on sale.

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone.  We have a beautiful and sunny morning and headed to a high in the mid to upper 70's today with no rain in the forecast until possibly late tonight. The kind lady from our Sunday School class did bring by the Wednesday night dinners of fried chicken, salad, French fries and a thin but rich dessert.  Two pieces of chicken were on each dinner so I had the wing, 3 French fries, a little of the salad and the dessert.  I gave the rest of the dinner to Scott and Pat had put one piece of her chicken on Scott plate.  The girls were here but they had eaten before they got here to I reimbursed them for the cost of their dinners as it was no more than what it would have been had we taken them out to eat.  There are only two more Wednesday night dinners in May and then the meals will stop for the summer.  I can go online and pay for the dinners.

I think Scott discovered the problem with Pat's computers that wouldn't connect or stay connected to the Internet.  It had to do with the IP address and rather than one that changes he put in a static one.  He was also able to figure out how to get the games downloaded that Pat had paid for over the years.  Obviously we were happy happy as that takes a big weight off my shoulders thinking I would need to restore the computer to factory condition.  He will be out again this afternoon and will do the same adjustment to the other laptop.

When I made my Camomile tea last night I noticed it was very dark and had a different flavor.  When I finished I discovered that Pat had not removed the coffee pod from yesterday morning so I had a blend of decaf coffee and tea.  I would usually notice this before I start the coffee pot to dispense the hot water but had not.  We had a good laugh over this unimportant oversight by both of us and I will be more careful in the future.  After I finished the tea I had a great night's sleep.

Jackie, do you enjoy the Easter Eggs?  I assume these were candy eggs and not dyed real eggs. Glad you won a game and had a good time.

Ellie, we are like you all in that we seldom leave our home.  My next outing will likely be to the barbershop in a week or two.  I have encouraged Pat to get out, which she does occasionally.  We got one of those lightweight sweepers when we moved to this house and didn't have a housekeeper.  It was still hard on Pat and now usually our little broom and dustpan will do the pickup if something gets on the floors and our housekeeper does all the floors each time she is here.

Greetings Larry  Good Man Larry for reminding us we both need to go to see the hairdressers. I still go to get my hair done, hubby does sometimes, though I can organise a home visit when needed.

Our battery sweeper's on and off button jammed and I had to let the battery power off.  And the manufacturer kindly replaced it free of charge.  Splendid customer service.

Talking about Easter Eggs, if we buy one it will be a chocolate Easter Egg.

HONEY!  I'M HOME!!.... :)   ;)
I kept looking for today's date to post, but this is the closest I could find.  Maybe April hasn't been opened yet?

We got home Tuesday night at midnight.  I wanted to check in while away but had a lot of connection problems, etc.  Only managed to post a very few photos so far, several of those since we got home.

Carol, thanks for thinking of me!  The trip was wonderful, but last Sunday night I fell when stepping out of the shower and hurt myself pretty badly.  It was an elevated shower, about 9 inches down to the slick tile floor, and the tiny bath mat slid and down I went!
Fell across the toilet on my chest and arm, and hit my knee on the tile.

Time to leave for the doctor's--will finish later!

Janet

I'm home again.  Darrel wanted to take me to another doctor, just to make sure all is okay in my chest.  She ordered more X-rays, will call to tell me if they see any cracked ribs or dislocated ones.
My knee is really sore, but is a little better each day.  It was s long and uncomfortable ride home, needless to say, we were very glad to get here!

The trip was really nice.  Darrel was very moved by Normandy; especially Omaha Beach and the American cemetery there.  They had a special ceremony for our group and took photos of the Veterans among us.

The crew of the ship MS Bizet were top notch!  They treated us like royalty.  ;) There was an outbreak of the norovirus on board and they worked so hard to nip it in the bud, and they did!  There was much use of hand sanitizer when entering or leaving the dining room, boarding or leaving the ship, and they sanitized the ship stem to stern and top to bottom!  Was so happy neither of us got the virus!

We saw and toured such huge and beautiful Chateaus (Castles).  French history is very long and very complicated, with all the drama of royalty and intrigue. I wonder if the kids dread studying French History in school?  ;)   One thing I didn't know is that the Kings were nomads, moving often, with 1000 to 1,500 people, all their furniture and stuff!  What a job!  One King had 12 castles! They look very beautiful, but were cold and drafty, and not comfortable places to live.

A real highlight for me was visiting Claud Monet's home and gardens at Giverny. The gardens have been restored to the way he had them during his life.  Also saw his burial place, a family tomb, in a nearby cemetery.

I have read all the posting from the days I missed, and so glad to see Larry still faithfully stopping in to greet us, even when he doesn't feel at all well.
We love you, Larry!

I think it's time to eat--we skipped lunch.  We ate enough on the trip to fast for a month--but we won't!  ;)

This is enough (maybe more than enough) for today. It's good to be back in touch with all of you.

Greetings Janet
We are glad you had a wonderful holiday.  But, sorry to hear of your fall, sending best health wishes for a speedy recovery.  Hopefully, no cracked ribs, but heavy bruising is painful.  Have you been given any pain relief?

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone.  Kind of a dreary morning and will be a cloudy day with the temp getting into the low 60's this afternoon.  Our housekeeper will be here today.  I am going to just have to check in for today as am fighting a great weariness this morning. This is one of those mornings when I am having trouble holding my head upright when I am standing but can keep it upright when sitting.  I did get in the car yesterday morning and go with Pat over to Walmart to pick up the grocery order.

Janet, glad to see you safely home but so sorry about your fall and a tough ending for your fine trip.

Ellie, glad you had good customer service with your vacuum.

Janet

Hello, Larry.  Sending you best wishes for a return of strength today, and prayers for peace.  You know I admire your strong faith and accepting attitude so much.  You inspire me!

Yes, Ellie, thank you.  I now have 800 mg Ibuprofen and Tramadol for the pain, was able to sleep pretty well last night, until chest pain woke me around 3:30 when pain med wore off.  But I'm getting better day by day and bit by bit. "This too shall pass!"

Greetings Larry    Have an easy day today.

We both find the best way to achieve splendid customer service is to be polite in dealing with a company.  If you moan or tell them in no uncertain terms that you  were sold a faulty product; it gets you nowhere.

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone. We are in for another cloudy day with a high in the mid-70s.  It is sort of like day and night the way I felt all day yesterday and last evening and how I am feeling this morning.  I actually feel a little more human today and looking forward to the day.  Late this afternoon are the last two semi-final games in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  They are getting started early enough that I should be able to watch all of both of them.

The top Amateur women golfer from around the world are competing in the final round of the first Annual women's golf tournament ever played at the Augusta National Golf Course.  This is the only round they will have played on the true Master's Course as the other two days were played at another course.  I am sure I will watch quite a lot of the men's Tournament, which gets underway Tuesday with special events and then the actual tee off for the Tournament starting on Thursday.  Even if one doesn't care for golf just looking at the magnificent golf course and all the beautiful blooming plants is worth while.  This is considered the premier golf course in the world.  Many people fly in using their own or company planes and the roads are clogged and the restaurants and other businesses love it. Many people rent out their homes for this week for thousands of dollars.  The schools have their Spring break this next week and many residents leave town.  Our Church services have reduced attendance, except we older folks plus many of the activities of the Church are cancelled for the week.

Janet, I appreciate your prayers and concern.  Glad the doctor gave you some pain medications to help while you overcome the effects of the bad fall.  I sure hope you were able to get a good night's sleep last night and feel somewhat better today.  Do you have any broken ribs?

Ellie, I always try to remember that the person I am talking to about a consumer complaint is just an employee and didn't cause the problem and I find them willing to try to help solve the issue.  When they provide good service or have tried to do so and always try to thank them.  I wouldn't want their job of listening to people complaining all day long. I didn't have any choice of having a do nothing day yesterday as had no energy or desire to do anything.

Janet

Larry, how thankful I am to read that you feel better today and are looking forward to watching the sports.  I know I do not need to remind you to not overdo!  ;)

The Nurse Practitioner didn't call me, so I'm assuming I have no broken or cracked ribs.  The pain is much less in both chest and knee, I'm hoping part of that is due to healing and not all due to pain killers.  I try not to take any more medications than necessary.  But I do pay the price if I wait too long!

I plan to attend a little Jewelry making class at the Artery this afternoon.  It's only two hours, fun, easy, and will mean having several Christmas gifts done!

Ellie, you, Larry and I have had this place all to ourselves for a couple of days!  I do hope some others come to chat!  Oh, yes, I did see the one from Jacqueline--hi, Jackie!  (Do you mind being called by the shortened version?  If so, tell me, and I won't do that any more!

My chest is telling me it's time for another Tramadol.  :-\   Talk to you all later!

Marilyn

I wrote s post I believe it was Thursday and  it vanished into thin air. I looked for it yesterday and found it not. On of the grocers here is having a one day giveaway  of up to eight 16" pots of  good potting soil if you buy some plants. I have 3 large pots already in the car already. This is once  every spring. I still have the 3 large pots that Gilbert planted tomatoes in last year out on the deck, I am going to dig up 3 roses and plant them in the pots on the deck, when I get my tomato plants I will put those in the new dirt. Every May there is the Master Gardner's organic tomatorama in the mall.

I've borrow two suitcases for our trip but I think the biggest one will be too big, So I will take then next size smaller, my backpack for a carry on and my CPAP machine. Janet You fly a lot, am I supposed to take our medications in the original containers, Or can I take them in the little daily does boxes.? Those will go in the carry on.

Marilyn, we always take ours in the pill strips, with rubber bands to insure they don't get spilled (learned from experience). Things like OTC pain killers we usually take in original containers (small.)  I'm impressed!  You're packing already and not going until June??  If I pack even two weeks ahead, I find myself having to go see what I packed!  For one week, I could pack all I need in a carry-on bag.
Everyone does things the way they like, and that's good!

We are trying to choose a date to go to Florida to visit grandson Mark.  Right now, American has some good prices on flights from Garden City to Orlando.  Must call Mark to double check when he can be off work a few days, also Tiffany, his wife.

Planning and anticipating is half the fun!  I wish you a wonderful, relaxing, refreshing trip!
