Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Pretty quiet in here compared to the last few days.

Etta Sue~thanks for the encouraging words yesterday. I would have replied earlier but I wanted to share a song with you.

I can only Imagine
(mercyme)
Words and music by Bart Millard

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
I can only imagine

chorus
Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day will come
And I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Chorus twice

This song rocks! Our family will listen to songs at night and dance and sing together praising God.

We had a man visit our church who sang this song.  He told us to close our eyes and listen.  It was awesome.  I could really feel God's presense in the church.
It was powerful!

I would like to say I would dance in his presence but I think I would be in awe of Him and be still.
Maybe after that I would dance for Him.  ;D

Great study, Al. I am so thankful I am a christian!

We have a Chili feed at the camplex today at 2:00 we will be going to.  Everyone in town gets together and makes a Big pot of chili and hot salsa.  We towns people go around and try them all and vote for the best and the one who wins gets something.  ::) Not sure what though.
They also have the kids from dance showing off their new moves.  It will be fun.  Hope you all have a good day!

Mieka ~ I am glad you are eating american. I love it.

Janet ~ Bev wasn't told her condition because she preferred it that way. I knew 9 months that she would die and I kept quiet about it and when her time came I loved her enough to let her go home to the Lord by saying she could go with her mother who died six months before her. She took three deep but unusually easy breaths and was gone to us on earth, but she is getting things ready for us to come home to the Lords house and we will see her again there.

karmat

That song is awesome.  Bernard sang it at my father's funeral almost two years ago.  Eight days later, Travis was born, and a lot of times, I would sit in the recliner with him and listen to the radio.  They played it almost every hour, and I would sing along to Travis.  It kinda became "our song" and will always be special to me.

Another awesome and totally unexpected/unintentioned result of that song is that it is taking secular stations by storm.  There was a station in TX (where Mercy Me is from) that called and wanted to interview Bart Miller because they were getting so many requests for it.  Miller said he was a little nervous about doing a live on-air interview because one of the jockeys was openly homosexual and the other was openly not Christian, so he wondered if he was being set up.  But he accepted, and they said that they just wanted to talk to him and find out what made that song so popular.  Bart Miller didn't know, then the gay DJ said, "People are wanting something real.  This song is real."  or something like that.

Since then, I have heard various reports that it is on the most requested list of many secular stations across the country.

Point -- Many musicians water down their message to "crossover" to mainstream.  BUT, let God have control, and He will take you across without diluting the pure message.

God is good.  ALL THE TIME...

Janet, we are still thinking of you and praying for you.  We do not know what the future holds, but we do know WHO holds the future, and if the prognosis is correct, then God, in his infinite, unexplainable, wisdom has a divine purpose that may not yield immediate earthly rewards, but someday, in eternity, Beth will see that God was using her.   :-*  and (((hugs))) to you adn Beth.

karmat

Hi Jerry!!  My grandmother was the same way.  If she had known how serious her condition was, the last few days she was coherent would have been extrememly worrisome for her.

Marilyn

HELLO JERRY
[/b]
So good to see you posting again. I have missed your dry wit. You have made me cry this morning. I guess you have read where I am getting that new computer. I went all out on it. well all out at least for me. Anything on credit is all out for me. Haha. ;D

Sonja I love that song too. I saw a very crippled up man who could hardly get the words out sing that song on  a praise program out of Texas. I can't remember the name of the program but it was Randy Phillips program. There was not a dry eye in the house as that man stood up from his wheel chair and sang those words, I get tears just telling you about it.

Karma I wish we could all hear a concert by Nards and his group. That would really be fantastic. Does he have any tapes or CD's that Ic ould buy from you?

Jenny...........
While you're on line i'd like to say hi kiddo.

Ruthie

Hi Sonja.....   thank you for that lovely song, "I can only imagine".  I heard it for the first time when someone, I think Kevin Pauls, sang it at Peoples Church.

It is wonderful and when there are troubles in our life, it helps us to IMAGINE WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE WHEN WE SEE JESUS!   WOW.   The present troubles will disappear.

Dear Janet.....   I am so sorry to hear about your precious Beth.     I will, along with others lift her up before the Father, who is the creator and sustainer of all things.   I will pray that God will give you the words to tell her and the right timing.    Also tell her that there are many people praying for her!    I have Beth on my list.   God can and does heal!    Will pray also for YOUR heavy heart.

God Bless!

Love Ruthie :)

I know im behind but this is what it is..CLOSER WALK

Rachelle
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thy own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct thy paths.

Iain

Folks I think it is true of us all that we would like a closer walk with our God. With that in mind I penned the following in the prayerful hope that it would be of assistance to one needy soul. It was --- ME!

And his servant came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? How much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?'

2 Kings 5 : 13

The letter 'I' is right in the centre of two words, 'pride' and 'sin.' There is no doubt in my mind that the sin that plagues me most is pride. From it stems unbelief, murmuring, impatience and a multitude of other faults that make up the person writing this post.

Pride is a sin that must be dealt with on a daily basis. I know of a few fine Christians who have as part of their make up a very short fuse. Their temper can snap for the least thing and it is not a pleasant sight. They are more aware of their failing in that department than anyone and many have a real battle to keep their tempers under control.

If we do not make a serious attempt at curbing or censoring our sins then God will deal with us in a way that will leave us in no doubt as to what He is trying to achieve! Lessons in the school of faith can be very painful indeed!

The Bible tells us to mortify our sins (the deeds of the flesh) and as yet I have failed to accomplish this. I often become disheartened as a result.

Pride is difficult to deal with and almost impossible to mortify! The Lord Jesus Christ is our model and we strive to be like Him, yet I am all to aware of the need of more pruning in my own life.

I truly fear the pruning shears yet my heart desires to bear an abundance of fruit in this life and I am sensible enough to realise that I cannot have one without the other.

I do not ask for the knife, rather I shrink from it, however I have such an overwhelming desire within to shine for Christ that I am a bit more willing today to go through seasons of pruning that I once had been.

Pride will suggest that we do not have need of pruning. Pride tells me that there must be something more to the way of salvation that what is on offer.

Pride wants a part of it! Humbly accepting God at His word sparks a conflict within the soul. Salvation would be far easier for me to accept if my own works had a part to play!!!!

Perhaps it would have been better for me had I been born in Galatia!

Pride suggests that there must be some good work that I can do to merit God's favour. There must be something that I can do to wipe my slate clean. I just cannot accept that I am –in Christ - perfect in the sight of God and I have had no part to play!

Surely God cannot simply forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings every single day just because I confess them and do my best to turn from them. They are there!! Always with me, sin is part of me and no matter what I do I cannot shake it off.

The Bible and the message of salvation by grace through faith is just to simple to accept!! Surely there must be a catch!

It was all too easy for me to accept God's forgiveness when first I was saved but not now. I wholeheartedly accepted God taking me from darkness to light and that the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son cleaned me from all my sins.

That was then! Now that I daily sin against that same light I find it difficult to humble myself again and again to accept the same blessings!

OH! What a foolish, foolish man that I am!

I cringe when I think that my pride dare suggest to me that my way is better than God's way!!

It is all of grace, all of it! Away with pride, let it sink to the depths of the ocean and give me Christ as He is freely offered to me in the Gospel. I am clean today. I am saved for all Eternity. I do love the Lord with all my heart. I do want to serve Him for the rest of my days. His way is best and it is the only way.

Pride is a spoiler.

Naaman is typical of many who would be saved but will not! The man after all held a high ranking position as captain of the host of the king of Syria. Though he was a mighty man of valour he was a leper.

It is hard to imagine these two descriptions meeting in the one person but that is the way it was. News came to him of a man that could cure him of his leprosy so he heads for the home of Elisha.

What happened next floored Naaman. Pride in action and not a pretty sight! No way was he going to accept a message from a mere servant and he definitely was not going to dip himself in the Jordan.

It was just too much to ask, he was higher than that and he was not going to demean himself by following madcap instructions like washing in the river Jordan seven times!

You would think that a man would do anything to be rid of leprosy, but such is the nature of pride that it will not accept what is genuinely best for us! Ask me to dip in the Abana or Pharpar, my home rivers and I'll consider it, but not the Jordan.

Why are so many heading to a lost Eternity?

Because like Naaman they simple will not accept God's way of doing things. Even as Christians our days would be far happier and more productive if we started the day, God's way!

Thankfully Naaman was a man who would at least accept good counsel. His servant pointed out his folly and pride was eventually swallowed.

Having obeyed the command he emerged clean! The way that God cleanses can be enjoyed by all who are willing to confess their sins, turn from them and humbly accept that the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross at Calvary was accepted by God as the perfect offering for sin.

The way of salvation is simple, it is us who complicate it.

Is God asking you today to do something great, or is He asking you to wash and be clean?

Sorry this is so longwinded folks.

Have a blessed weekend.
Special love to those whose hearts are sore this evening.

LOl

Your brother in Christ

Draw Me Nearer
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Fanny J. Crosby, 1820-1915
Musician:  William H. Doane, 1832-1915

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Refrain

Draw me nearer, nearer blessèd Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessèd Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Refrain

O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

Refrain

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Refrain

Hi Rachelle...  I'm working on Week 1 still.  I was hoping to really go at the lessons tonight but I've been invited to a concert here in Guelph that I think might be nice to attend.  I'm still "thinking about it" though.

That's just such a tragic happening in your area, Rachelle.  The poor families of these dead folks.  Yes, I'll be praying for them as they cope with this terrible tragedy.

Thanks so much for sharing that song, "Can You Imagine", Sonja.  I've heard it and the words are really meaningful.

Saturdays in CP are never as busy as the days during the week I find.  But we'll get back to the postings on Monday.

I'm sorry for not replying to everyone today.  I forgot about this concert tonight and now I'm rushing around like a "chicken....." (and you know the rest!)

I got a cute email i'd like to share!!they had cute graphics but i don't know how to get them to here!

"Excuse me, Sir."

"Is that you again, Moses?"

"I'm afraid it is, Sir."

"What is it this time, Moses; more computer problems?"

"How did you guess?"

"I don't have to guess, Moses.  Remember ?"

"Oh, yes; I forgot."

"Tell me what you want, Moses."

"But you already know, Sir. Remember?"

"Moses!"

"Sorry, Sir."

"Well, go ahead, Moses; spit it out."

"Well, I have a question, Sir.
You know those ten 'things' you sent me via e-mail?"

"You mean the Ten Commandments, Moses?"

"That's it.  I was wondering if they are important."

"What do you mean 'if they are important,' Moses?
Of course, they are important.  Otherwise, I would not have sent them to you."

"Well, sorry, Sir, but I lost them. I could say the dog ate them; but, of course, you would see right through that."

"What do you mean you 'lost them'?
Are you trying to tell me you didn't save them, Moses?"

"No, Sir; I forgot."

"You should always save, Moses."

"Yes, I know. You told me that before. I was going to save them, but I forgot. I did forward them to some people before I lost them though."

"And did you hear back from any of them?"

"You already know I did. There was the one guy who said he never uses 'shalt not.'  May he change the words a little bit?"

"Yes, Moses, as long as he does not change the meaning."

"And what about the guy who thought your stance was a little harsh, and recommended calling them the 'Ten Suggestions,' or letting people pick one or two to try for a while?"

"Moses, I will act as if I did not hear that."

"I think that means 'no.'  Well, what about the guy who said I was scamming him?"

"I think the term is 'spamming,' Moses."

"Oh, yes.   I E-mailed him back and told him I don't even eat that stuff, and I have no idea how you can send it to someone through a computer."

"And what did he say?"

"You know what he said.  He used Your name in vain.  You don't think he might have sent me one of those -- err -- plagues, and that's the reason I lost those ten 'things', do you?"

"They are not plagues; they are called 'viruses,' Moses."

"Whatever!  This computer stuff is just too much for me.
Can we go back to those stone tablets?  It was hard on my back taking them out and reading them each day, but at least I never lost them."

"We will do it the new way, Moses; using computers!!"

"I was afraid you would say that, Sir."

"Moses, what did I tell you to do if you messed up?"

"You told me to hold up this rat and point it toward the computer."

"It's a mouse, Moses, not a rat.  Mouse!  Mouse!
And did you do that?"

"No, I decided to try calling technical support first.  After all, who knows more about this stuff than you?   And I really like your hours.
By the way, Sir, did Noah have two of these mice on the ark?"

"No, Moses."

"One other thing.  Why did you not name them 'frogs' instead of 'mice,' because did you not tell me the thing they sit on is a pad?"

"I did not name them, Moses.  Man did,
and you can call yours a frog if you want to."

"Oh, that explains it.  I bet some woman told Adam to call it a mouse.
After all, was it not a woman who named one of the computers 'Apple?'"

"Say good night, Moses."

"Wait a minute, Sir.  I am pointing the mouse, and it seems to be working.  Yes, a couple of the ten 'things' have come back."

"Which ones are they, Moses?"

"Let me see.
'Thou shalt not steal from any grave an image' and
'Thou shalt not uncover Thy neighbor's wife.'"

"Turn the computer off, Moses.
I'm sending you another set of stone tablets.

We have three Llamas and I'll make an effort to take a couple of pics and ask Pat to post them in photos.  We don't sell them, nor do we shear them.  So some might ask:  Why do you have Llamas?  And we reply, do you have a dog?  Why? ;D  At least a Llama keeps the grasses down. ;)

;D  Hi Ruthie!  Just you and I and 2 guests right now.  Welcome guests  Join Us !

Well the kids and John are in the basement throwing wood around.  You should hear the thump, thump, thump.  Good job no one has a headache!  It is good work for reducing stress too.

Lee I would love to see some photos of your 3 "little" pets.  What I want one for is to go backpacking in the bush.  I also hear they are better protectors than watchdogs?  This true?  We are looking into getting some sheep, the kind that produce the wool for Pat's Aaron sweaters! She will need to learn how to card, and spin, and, and, and ....... maybe not.  That will be a big undertaking too.  The price of lamb is high and that will provide some income.  Enough rambling.

I am off for today and will see y'all tomorrow

Hi all...just wanted to let you know I'm home safe and sound.  Had a beautiful ride down to the retreat site.  Rode some 100 miles there.  Rode through some heavy rain on the way home, and found out that my Frog Toggs don't keep me dry!  But it wasn't that cold and I did fine.
Pat, you asked about leather.  wellll, I have a leather jacket, but it's not made for motorcycle riding, and I have some chaps that I only use when it's very cold.  In the summer, I don't ride that much, but if I do, I don't use leathers.  (I know, I'll probably get flack from that, but you guys don't know how hot it can get in Texas!)

Lee.....Do you really have Llamas?   I have only seen them in the zoo up here is Canada.   Do they kick and spit like camels do?

Judy.....maybe you could buy one from Lee and bring it up in the big rig.   But then maybe one would be lonely, so you had better buy at least two!!

My parents used to have goats.   They were good for munching on the grass and supplying milk.  That's what I drank as a child.  Goat's milk is very nutritious.   Can you drink Llama milk?   :-\

Well, I took time tonight to read through all the remarks, reports and prayers for me during my sickness.  It makes me love all of you the more because I know you do care.

Every day I am gaining strength.  Tomorrow I plan to go to church and hopefully I can just use my cane.  If not I will use the walker.  God has answered prayer and I give thanks and praise to Him.

I still do not remember a lot of things that took place in the last four weeks.  I read some posts which I wrote in the hospital and at home which I do not remember writing.

But I do remember everything else.  There isn't any brain damage.  We go back to the surgeon who did the work on the colon on Monday.  Later we will be seeing some other doctors.  But right now I am feeling fine.  Thanks again for all your prayers.

I will post this in prayer requests as well as in New Every Morning.
