Janet - I pray for Beth nearly every night.... and have done so for a long time....ever since you shared some of her medical problems awhile ago.
I just feel "so close" to you and Beth... just like I 'know' you!

Oh Father, I ask for Beth whatever will be You very best for her.  From my humanly limited viewpoint, I ask for her complete healing, but, far, far more than that I ask that You will make Your Presence known to her in a powerful, blessed way.  Oh make her more fully aware of Your love for her than she has ever before experienced!  Oh Father, You can bless ANYTHING to us - I pray You'll bless her.

Well, dear friends.........here is the latest on Beth.  Her Dad has been watching a doctor on TV who does alternative medicine therapy, and he wanted me to call him.  I did, and they sent a package of herbs and stuff for her to start, to detoxify her body.  After three weeks of that, they want us to bring her to Midland, Texas for a week of IVs and other treatments, to "jump-start" her system to begin healing itself.

The package arrived yesterday, so Beth began the regimen today.  The Dr. thinks that a combination of herbs and stuff he will give her later will shrink the tumors.  Please pray she gets a good result from this treatment.  Conventional medicine is offering no help at all for her, and we feel we have to try to find her some help.

She still is getting nothing from Social Security, and the bills just keep on coming............

Thanks for all your prayers!  We couldn't make it without  those!

Conventional medicine doesn't always work and Herbal therapy is the next step to try. I saw a program on PBS last night on Alternative Medicine here in the USA. They have their own program unit at the National Institute of Health. Senator Harkin  is the one who got it all started and the NIH has put their top Doctor on it.

Janet, we will certainly be praying that this new treatment will help Beth.  

Janet I would be open to Alternative medicine and would, also, do a lot of research on-line about the different things Beth will be taking.  This would be to keep up-to-date and not to be taken in by some who specialize in being shams.  

I pray that these things will work for Beth.

I had a cousin who was diagnosed with some type of cancer (pancreatic maybe) and he was not given much hope.  He turned to Alternative medicine...and coffee enemas was one of the things I remember.
That was 25-30 years ago and he is still kicking.
I even think he made it in some kind of medical journal.  

Kathy, funny you should mention coffee enemas!  They told Beth to take three enemas a week---two with garlic, and one with coffee!  I wasn't going to mention it yet...  That's some of the stuff I had to go find for her today.  I will be brewing extra coffee once a week now!

Janet, I pray often for Beth. An encroaching disability is SO difficult to deal with. My prayers for Beth and for y'all as you work with her through this suffering.

I am praying for Beth and her family as she is using the natural herbs and alternative treatments.  May God be with you all.

Janet - please include me along with our other "brothers and sisters" here.  I'm a firm believer in alternative treatments.  I think she has no alternative.  I'm also praying that her checks will soon arrive!

I pray, Father, for Your grace and mercy for Beth.  I pray You'll use these medicines that You have made and that they'll be effective for her.  Oh make her know that You are the Healer, but, even more, that You are her GOD.  Make her aware that You have never left her and that You will not leave her now.  Oh bless her through our Lord Jesus.
I edit the American Herbal Association Journal every three months, and I'm very aware that our Father has made many medicines.

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement.  She has started on the treatments with the natural things, and I pray we will see some improvement soon.

The nurse from the alternative medicine place called today, and luckily, Beth was here at that time.  She had NOT given us complete instructions!  She told Beth today she is not to ingest ANY sugar or dairy products whatsoever!  And that she should start to feel better this next week!  So on we go..........

I am praying that Beth is feeling better soon!!!

What a good thing that the nurse remembered soon enough, and that Beth was right at hand.  That expected improvement in a week sure sounds great.  We'll be praying the Lord will use this new regimen to work His miracles.

I also pray for both Beth and you Janet.  Believe alternative medicines are very helpful.  My ex BIL is a retired doctor and he promotes them.  Wendy is also being helped by accupunture and the therapist is going to prepare special herbal medicine to help her body heal.  There are many paths to being healed other than conventional medication.  

Will be praying.  

Does Beth use a lot of the dairy or sugar?

I understand about avoiding certain food products. One of the medications I take requires that I eat no grapefruit, which I dearly love. I'm out of the medication and have been for about a week, so while I'm waiting for the mail to bring the new supply, I may purchase one just for old times sake.

Also another medication can't be taken within 6 hours of ingesting milk or dairy products.

Most certainly it's important we know our limitations and try our best to live within them.

Janet, I also join with you in praying that this alternative approach will bring improvement to Beth.  

Ruth Ann, I have also had to give up the grapefruit.  For years I drank a big glass of pure grapefruit juice with my breakfast served over crushed ice.  It was such a great way to start the morning.

Beth went last night with me to the Thanksgiving Dinner at the care home with her grandma (my Mom).  This morning, she called to tell me that she had fallen twice last night after I took her home, and had a very hard time getting up again.  

It grieves my heart to see her going downhill at such a pace.  Please, Lord, let the alternative stuff help her!!

Janet I will continue to pray for Beth. and believe for her healing.

Janet, I truly feel for you, seeing your dear daughter in such terrible straights.     We're continuing to pray for Beth and for you and the rest of the family.
