JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.
Isaiah 9:6

How clearly the prophet distinguishes the wonder of our Lord's incarnation.

As a Child He was born, wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in a manger, and held in His mother's arms.

As a Son, He was given as heaven's gift by God who so loved the world, the eternal Son of God by whom the worlds were framed and by whom our salvation was secured.

Why a Child and a Son?

So that we, through His death, burial, and resurrection, could be born again as God's dear children and one day be presented as the sons of God (Rom. 8:19).
--Rex Trogdon

Unto us a Child is born,
wrapped up in His mother's arms;
Unto us a Son is given,
come th' eternal Son from heaven.

5.50a.m. England.

Goodmorning All,

Well festivities continue today for some and for others, especially in England there are the January Sales in most shops and stores and a  time for spending the Christmas gifts of money...some folks over here will have been queueing overnight for the best bargains...yes that does happen!

John (Bonesy) Hello dear brother, I am so glad you are able to be with Judy for a good length of time this Christmas....enjoy!

Marilyn I am pleased for you that all went well at the "family" Christmas.

I am up early this morning after a sleepless night, have a touch of bronchitis again and bad throat., well it's that time of year.  I am sat here with a nice glass of hot Ribena (blackcurrant drink) and am going to have another read of Pat's devotional now...

Speak later.
Love Jenny

The festivities are over but the memories remain.

Jerry and I had a wonderful lunch with Ivalou and her family....I think, 17 of us.   After eating we opened our gifts and then we played our version of Merry Christmas!  It is played with decks of cards.  Then a caller calls off the cards and when you have one remaining you have to say 'Down to One'.  Then when the last card is turned over you yell 'MERRY CHRISTMAS!  We all brought White Elephant gifts.  Lots of fun.  Even the little ones could play.  But Lydia and Alexis played off by themselves...both 4 years old.  And when you went into Ivalou's living room, you could see how they played.  Disaster area!  But they are good little girls and cleaned it up quick.

Going to doctor this morning about my painful arm.  Hope I get a miracle pain drug so it will stop.  Mr. Pain has been a constant companion way too long.  Besides I am anxious to put up the Christmas decorations and get back to normal...whatever that is.

Hello everyone!  Just wanted to say "HI" before I tackled this house.  We have toys, clothes, and wrapping paper from one end to the other.  And that was after we straightened a little bit yesterday.  :-[

Anyway.

Have a good day, and maybe I'll be back later.

Al Moak

Well I'm sure every one of us has much for which to praise our God, for His lovingkindness endures forever!  We were about to go out to a Denny's locally last evening when the phone rang.  It was our son in Olympia, WA.  He was calling from his cell phone in the car, and he had our DIL and 4 grands with him.  So, when he was sure I was on the line, he said, "Go!" and the whole family, at the top of their voices, said, "Merry Christmas!"  I'll bet most of the state of Washington heard that one.
I had to remind him that he should be calling again today, though, because it's our 49th anniversary!  I really wanted just to put a bug in his ear about the fact that next year it'll be the 50th, and we should have all the kids together!  I knew he's the planning type, so I wanted to get him started on it!  That's what you call a kniver.

Good morning.  I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee......French Vanilla.  mmmmm

My grandaughter, Angel, is asleep in the other room.  she stayed here last night, cuz her dad is sick with a bronchial infection, a virus doc said, and she decided if she stayed with gram, there'd be less chance of her getting it.   ;)  Poor Paul justs coughs and coughs and coughs.

I'm so glad everyone had a blessed and peaceful Christmas Day.

Now, I have to head over to the "drawing" section to see if Mullet drew his picture yet.  He has challenged us to draw out best and post it there.  We have to use the computer.  I was hoping we could use pencil and then scan and post, but nope.....he wants to do it the hard way. haha

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just back from a busy morning.  We didn't go to the Senior Center for coffee this morning but instead met at the Cafe, which was open.  We had about 10 men there this morning.  Then I went to the Y and walked and then did some shopping.  This afternoon we are going out with friends to eat at the Golden Corral.  So this will be a busy day.  About ready for some rest.

Happy Anniversary Al and Marbeth.

Look like it is going to be fairly quiet here today.

;D Hi Mr Hanna, is it quiet? perhaps I can make a noise

Did you hear it?  8)

I do hope it is a special day for Mr. Moak and Ms Marybeth.  ;D

It was such a special day at home for me on the Christmas. Many friends and I did meet many new friends. I love my family with all my heart and I miss my home when I am away. It is a giggle for me here every moment. I will not allow my family to see my heart it is broken and and I am more sad than ever to know I must go away from them again soon. I will treasure my time here.

Yesterday it is a celebration for the birth of Jesus. Today it is the same, and every day I will celebrate His birth and the gift of ever life.

Today in the China it is a very sad problem. A gas came and it did make many thousand people die. I am so sad to think if they did not know Jesus they are gone from the families for ever. So many are wonderful people with a most kindness in their heart.  I pray God will find a way to let them all know of Jesus befor they did die. It is the most sad thing for me to undarstand. I just know my kind God will have a way. If God is love. they have such love in their hearts. Do they then know Jesus? I pray each day there is a way to see them in the heaven.

I hope every day it is a celebration for the birth of Jesus and for the ever life. I hope it is a safe and a happy week for all.

I love you ms Pat, I love the CP, and I love you God.

~mi  ;D

:-\ Oh and I have a questions about a wise men. How are they wise? What did they do that they are wise? Do we have them today?

I think I know some? but it is my wonder if it is the same? ???

Hello Mieka:

I heard about the leaking gas on the news this morning and right away I thought of you and how your heart would be aching for the people there who are suffering and for the ones who have already died because of the gas. It is such a sad thing to think that many do not know our Jesus in other countries and even in America.

It is my prayer every day that many will come to know Jesus as their Savior and to understand that Jesus is the only way to the Father and to Heaven.

My son and Daughter in law (Gilbert and Sarah)  have both told me that they believe there are many ways to God and that Jesus is only one of them. They have also said that they do not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus. How sad it is to know that in my own family there are some who will be lost forever if they do not accept Jesus into their hearts.

I pray every day for them to open thier hearts to Jesus.

Today I have put away all the Christmas decorations and the tree all into their boxes and cleaned up my house. I have a few days off and want to get my own house in order before I go back to work. There is so much to do before I go to the hospital on Jan. 12th. I will not be able to do my own housework for at least 3 weeks maybe the whole 6. I do not know what I will be able to do. I have to make sure I have enough of everything me and the dogs will need so I don't have to be a burden to others to do things for me.

Be back Later.

Chris & Margit Saunders

Dear Mieka, hello my little sister.
The wise men were wise,  because they studied the old Testament and other charts,  and worked out when the Saviour of the world would be born, and also where!
And so they set off on their long journey to worship Him,  for they knew that a great change was coming into the world,  A personal Saviour Who would redeem us,  individually from the slavery of sin,  when we call upon Him to receive us,  and forgive us.
The Father honoured their faith by guiding them by a great star, which shone brightly above the place where He lay.
Read Micah ch 5 v 3
Genesis ch 49 v 10
Isaiah ch. 60,  mentions the gentiles bringing gold, and incense,  to the Deliverer,  the Messiah.
The only gifts we can bring Him really, are praise , worship, and a thankful heart for all His grace poured out upon us.

GRACE= God's Riches At Christ's Expense !
Unmerited favour.
Love to you Mieka, and all the Brethren and Sistren lol. :)

BEST WISHES TO AL AND MRS MOAK
Heres some sunshine just for the two of you.

Al Moak

Dear Mieka - How wonderful to have once again one of your questions on here!  The "Wise men" were literally "magoi."  They were not kings, but were priests or court advisors.  There are Old Testament parallels in Daniel and Joseph, who were advisors to kings, but who also ranked very high in the courts to which they were attached.
These particular magoi, as Chris has said, were indeed wise because they came to worship the Christ.  Apparently they had studied the Scriptures relative to the coming Christ, and from those Scriptures they were able to know just when and where Christ should be born.  We would be wise to follow their example of interest and reverence for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you so very much Pauline, Pat, Marilyn, Chris and Margit, and Larry for your wishes for us.  Marbeth came in here and viewed them all also.  You can all come to our celebration with us at Moonstone Grill up at Westhaven, near Trinidad.  From the tables there you can look out over the Pacific Ocean!  Be sure and be there at 6PM.

Papa John

Happy Anniversary to Al and Marbeth !

Dear Miss Mieka.  You always have the interesting questions.  I have to say that I don't know how they got their wisdom and information to set them off on their long journey.  It must have come to them some way from God.
Deut 29:29  The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.  (NIV)

We have had a nice quiet day here.  Our daughter, Rachel and her husband, Martin, with their children John and David are coming over tonight for a dinner of leftovers.  We have turkey and dressing, ham, green beans, etc. along with some pies and cakes.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

My son and I made it safetly to Atlanta and back, and when I arrived, I see Mieka is with us again!!!

Hi, there, my friend. Short though the time may be with you, we will all benefit from your messages.

Al, that's a good kind of conniving, though, to alert the kids that the 50th will be coming up next year. For today, though, happy 49th!

Greetings to everyone else. Hopefully I'll be hooked up to cable pretty soon. Then, I'll be able to read more extensively.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Christians are wonderful people to have as brothers/sisters!  Thank you, Papa John and Ruth Ann!

Happy Anniversary to Al and Marbeth

We spent three nights visiting with the children and so enjoyed Christmas Eve service in a barn - yes, a real, working barn.  The church service is always conducted by Southern Baptists and it was simple and lovely with wonderful music.  It was just beginning to feel chilly in there even with the overhead heaters when the service ended.

We so enjoyed having the time to talk with most of the family; unfortunately, eldest son has the flu so he stayed home with his family and is still ailing after three days or more.

Mieka:  How nice to read your greeting.

Tomorrow night we have another service so this is a terrific week.

Nards:  Don't fret about your music show as we who have no talent are so happy to have anyone take the time to produce a musical.

Pat:  I trust that you have had a peaceful Christmas.
