Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

For ever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.
Psalm 119:89

The world may change its standards, but the Word of God will never change--it has been settled forever in heaven.

Many today re-interpret the Scriptures to try to make them more palatable to modern thinking. Doing this will only produce spurious Christians.

If we do not like what God's Word says, it is we who must do the changing.

His Word stands forever as God's unalterable standard. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away."

What is His Word saying to you today?
--David Croudace

O may these heavenly pages be
My ever dear delight;
And still new beauties may I see
And still increasing light!

Thank-you.  Thank-you Lord for this confirmation that Your Word is settled.  I know You are doing a wonderful thing right now, and that your Word does not return to You empty. You keep Your promises. Praise Your Holy Name.

"As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the earth, and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is My Word. I send it out and it always produces fruit.  It shall accomplish all I want it to, and prosper everywhere I send it."  Isaiah 55:10-11

Iain I see you are around dear one.  I will come back soon to see if you have some words of inspration for me/us.  God Bless dear brother.  New Year Blessings to you.

Ria I hope you slept better last night dear.  Speak later!  O.K.?

Personal Life: Face Down, Listening

Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: "As for
Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of
many nations."
--Genesis 17:3-4

The Scriptures declare, "Abram fell on his face" as the Lord talked
with him (Genesis 17:3). Abraham was reverent and submissive.
Probably there is no better picture anywhere in the Bible of the
right place for mankind and the right place for God. God was on His
throne speaking, and Abraham was on his face listening!

Where God and man are in relationship, this must be the ideal. God
must be the communicator, and man must be in the listening, obeying
attitude. If men and women are not willing to assume this listening
attitude, there will be no meeting with God in living, personal
experience....

Yes, Abraham was lying face down in humility and reverence,
overcome with awe in this encounter with God. He knew that he was
surrounded by the world's greatest mystery. The presence of this
One who fills all things was pressing in upon him, rising above
him, defeating him, taking away his natural self-confidence. God
was overwhelming him and yet inviting and calling him, pleading
with him and promising him a great future as a friend of God!
Men Who Met God, 21-22.

"In this fast-paced, busy life, Lord, we don't spend nearly
enough time face down before You. Tozer talks of lying flat on
his face in his study in prayer; draw me to this position of
humility and reverence more often this year, I pray. Amen."

I certainly appreciate the beautiful calendar! Y'all are really talented and it's wonderful to share your love of our Lord by using the talents He gave you.

It's a warm day here in Nashville. We're moving much of my son's stuff today, so I'm very thankful for the warmth.

Y'all have a good day.

Good Morning. Pat and Chris thank you for the devotionals. Pat the  calender is fantastic, I must now get a color cartridge for my printer, I have been putting it off for quite awhile now.

Jenny, Ruth ann and Ria, good morning to you.

Pat:  Thank you for the daily devotional.  I am particularly thoughtful about the world's standards changing.  It seems the vulgar language is now considered the "norm" and allowed more and more in the media.  Tough to find a movie without violence and language anymore.

But the word stays true.

Ruth Ann:  I hope that your son has a safe move on a nice and warm day.

Here, we do have snow and very happy that we are not trapped in the mountains.  We cancelled a visit to son's cabin and lucky that we are not there with such deep snow.

I have to find this calendar.  Carol

Pat~The calender is beautiful.  Thank you so much.  It looks like you spent a lot of time on that.  You are so sweet.  :-*
Also great devotion.

Wonderful words to ponder on today.

Let's sing!

Footsteps of Jesus
(Click to hear music)

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'." Matthew 16:24

Words - Mary B.C. Slade, 1826-1882
Music - Asa B. Everett, 1871

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.

Refrain
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where'er they go.

Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam's fountains,
Helping the weak.

Refrain

If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.

Refrain

Then at last, when on high he sees us
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
end at his throne.

Hello Everyone!

Well, I see that some of you have looked at the calendar.  I do hope and pray that you enjoy it very much.  I've printed mine out on "photo quality" paper and not the glossy and I'll put a page on my fridge with magnets each month.

Ria, what a lovely little poem!  Thanks so much for that.

Thanks Chris for the devotional.  I really enjoy them and they cause me to think about the Master.

How neat, Karma!  Thanks for taking the time to say "Hi!".  But hurry home!  We miss you.  When will you be home?

Ruth Ann, you say you are moving your son's stuff.  Moving it in or out?  I'm confoooosed (and that's not difficult to do).  Glad you liked the calendar.

Great to see you check in Marilyn!     Don't work too hard!  Yes, get a colour cartridge for our First Annual calendar!

Doesn't that irritate you sometimes?  It does me.

Hi Jenny...

Quotehaven't got a printer though. Just enjoyed the pictures.

You just need to have the URL for the calendar and then contact a friend with a printer and ask them to print it for you.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I want to welcome the new folks joining us.

Pat, that was a wonderful devotional this morning.  With everything else in the world seeming to change, I am so thankful that God's word does not change.

I also think the CP Calendar is great.  So far I have printed out the cover and the first three months.  I think I will go back and reprint those pages on photo quality paper and use a high printer setting.

Ria, I haven't heard anything about the terror problems in Holland on our news here in the USA.  There has been a lot about the British Airline flights being canceled.  I was greatly relieved that there were no attacks during the holiday season.  I am afraid this is a war that has no end in sight unless our Saviour returns.

Nards, I sure hope that Travis keeps you in line while Karma is away. ;D  Sure you will be glad to see her get back home.

Ruth Ann, know you all will be tired with the efforts of moving but sure glad you are having a nice day.  The last few days here have also been very nice with tempertures up in the 60s.

Carol, I certainly agree with you on the vulgar language.  Unfortunately the people on the Federal Communications Commission have apparently decided that vulgar speech will be acceptable on broadcast television.  I think there is an effort to get new legislation passed to ban certain words being used on broadcast TV and I certainly hope it gets passed but am very doubtful that it will happen.

I have lots of things that I need to get done today so guess I better stop writing for today.

Pat

Hi Everyone!

Here I am now on my laptop.  My big computer finally gave me a message, "No keyboard detected" and yet it's all plugged in.

What a time I'm having lately!

I really don't like working on my laptop as the screen is so different and the keyboard is different and well, I'm spoiled.

So, if you've sent me any photos to post, they are probably on the other computer so please be patient.  It might be a few days before I can do them.

I am sorry , Pat you are having trouble with your big computer.  This will probably be the longest weekend now for you.  ((((((hug))))))

Chris & Margit Saunders

Ahhhhhhhh, they are great when they work well,
and a pain when they don't, computers who needs them---- well --me!  :)

There are three new photos on the scripture page, and always, it is the scripture that talks, not the photos.
Trusting, and believing, can set your feet dancing before the Lord.
Love to all,
Pat, you  have the patience of a saint, but then, that's correct, for all believers are saints! :D

7 Wonders of The World
--Author Unknown

A group of students were asked to list what they thought
were the present Seven Wonders of the World. Though there
was some disagreement, the following got the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one
quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet, so she
asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make
up my mind because there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and
maybe we can help."

The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the Seven
Wonders of the World are:

1. to touch
2. to taste
3. to see
4. to hear

She hesitated a little, then added:

5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love

The room was so full of silence you could have heard
a pin drop.

Those things we overlook as simple and "ordinary" are
truly wondrous. This is a gentle reminder that the
most precious things in life cannot be bought.

Jane Walker

Hello ... I have been "in the dark" and cold for a couple days.  :(  We had a power outage here on the southcoast of Oregon and I awoke yesterday morning very cold and it was very dark.  Since everything around here is "all electric" the town was quiet and dark as well ... there were a few stores and the hospital running on alternative generators ... I went to the hospital cafeteria for lunch yesterday!  I am thankful for my wood burning stove, so I could at least be warm.  I love candle light anyway ... so that was good!  Nita had power restored before I did today, but at the moment it looks like we are back online!  For sure, we learned how unprepared we are for an emergency like this.  I am praying it doesn't happen again too soon ... I'll have to lay in another supply of wood!   ::)

By the way, PAT... I totally love the CP Calendar!! I have saved the pages and I think I will try to use them as background on my 'puter each month ... I will also work toward getting some photo quality paper and printing them out --- someday!  Thanks so much for the beautiful calendar and the work of putting it together!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

Oh, Jane, thanks so much for the kind words.  Yes, it was just a labour of love for all my CP friends and anyone else that happens by.

Send the link to anyone you know and who might like a nice scripture calendar for their fridge or elsewhere.

Who knows?  We might even get some new members!!

I'm sorry you had a power outage.  Yes, these electric houses sure aren't any good in a situation like that.

Pat - I for one have absolutely no idea of the work involved in making the calendar, Pat.  It really is an asset to this site, and I'm sure it will attract many new members.

I have company due anytime now...so if I make a "quick exit"...you'll all know why! ;)

Weather here has been quite mild for this time of year...BUT Old Man Winter is due to make an appearance by tomorrow.

Has everyone done their "UNdecorating" of Christmas now?  Things are back to normal around here....now I'm anxious to get some spring cleaning started.

Well, the doorbell is ringing....I'll try and get in here later tonight, if possible.

I hope it won't be a late night....I had another sleepless night.....and I want to be rested for church tomorrow.
