JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Lord, Thou knowest all things; Thou knowest that I love Thee.
John 21:17

Indeed He knows all things!

He knows our shortcomings and our failures; He knows our backsliding and our murmuring.

But He knows, too, that in our heart of hearts we love Him. For who He is, for what He is, and for what He has done, we love Him. This rises above our weaknesses.

How can we help but love Him who first loved us and gave Himself for us?
--Jim Flanigan

We love Thee for the glorious worth
Which in Thyself we see;
We love Thee for the shameful cross,
Endured so patiently.
--Joseph Stennett--

The Holy Spirit: He Can Be Grieved

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for
the day of redemption.
--Ephesians 4:30

Because He is loving and kind and friendly, the Holy Spirit may be
grieved.... He can be grieved because He is loving, and there must be
love present before there can be grief.

Suppose you had a 17-year-old son who began to go bad. He rejected
your counsel and wanted to take things into his own hands. Suppose
that he joined up with a young stranger from another part of the
city and they got into trouble.

You were called down to the police station. Your boy--and another
boy who you had never seen--sat there in handcuffs.

You know how you would feel about it. You would be sorry for the
other boy--but you don't love him because you don't know him. With
your own son, your grief would penetrate to your heart like a sword.
Only love can grieve. If those two boys were sent off to prison, you
might pity the boy you didn't know, but you would grieve over the
boy you knew and loved. A mother can grieve because she loves. If
you don't love, you can't grieve.  The Counselor, 51-52.

"Lord, I think I take Your love for granted and consequently forget
how grieved You are when I sin. Overwhelm me today with Your love, so
that I might be more careful to not grieve You. Amen."

U.K. 9.27 a.m.

Hello Everyone.

Good Morning Chris and Margit.

Thank-you both for those words...so many folks do not realise that the Holy Spirit is Alive and Active...a Person...even some Christians have difficulty understanding the Trinity., Here we have it, in a nutshell...."do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God"....yes Holy Spirit (The Revelator)  reveals Jesus to us.
Thanks dear Bro and Sis for the lovely Scripture Picture this a.m.   :-* :-*

PatYes He knows I love Him.  He knows my weaknesses and that yet I am not "perfected in love"...but I will be...one day!  Praise God!

We had some strong winds over here during the night, these haven't subsided but it is a nice bright morning. The sun is trying to come through., Hopefully by Mid-day it will.

Have a Wonder-Filled Lord's Day
Love and Prayers.
Jenny.

Good Morning, God!

I am all ready for church.  I have looked outside.  Looks like a skim of snow fell after I got home for eating out with Tony and Charlene last night.  It was slick last night but the roads weren't clear either.  Glad Tony was driving.  I love being with Tony and Charlene.  I am so proud of both of them in how they conduct their lives and living for God.

Jerry, if you come in here...I am on my way to your place shortly.

Good Morning everyone.  I am not going to wait until the end of the day to post.  I am ready for church and have had my devotional time and am now listening to some fine Christian music on my computer.  I got my sound card problems fixed yesterday and can now, once again, enjoy all the music I have stored on my comptuer.

Pat, a fine devotional this morning with a lot of meaning in a few short words.  Chris, the Insight article certainly makes its point and causes one to think of how we grieve the Lord.

Etta Sue, be careful on the road this morning.  We are going to have another dry and sunny day here in Georgia.  It got down to about freezing last evening.

Jenny, I always appreciate your writings and Scripture references related to the things being discussed.

Troy, your swimming times improve every week.  Congratulations on your excellent times.  Zachery  it was good to see your cheerful posting  yesterday and am glad to see you have your computer back.  I am looking forward to seeing more of your graphics in your postings.

Sonja, I can certainly feel for you and computer problems.  After three weeks of computer frustrations I am hopeful that mine are over for awhile.  It is good to have everything working again.

Sarah, are you planning on being an EMT after highschool?  EMTs certainly do important and lifesaving work.

Jeanne, that was quite a strange day weatherwise that you all had.  This seems like it has been a long winter and still a few more weeks to go.

Papa John, glad to hear you are walking again.  I think my walking program is continuing to build upon the ECP treatments I took during the summer.  It is nice to see old friends at reunions.

Janet, as soon as I finish writing this post I will look at your photos.  Hope your arms didn't bother you during the night and keep you from sleeping.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Next Sunday is our annual Senior Day at the church and those 50 and over make up the choir and do the anthem for the service.  So this morning we are practicing during the Sunday School hour.  They did that last week as well but forgot about it and went to Sunday School.  After church next week they have a banquet for the seniors and have special entertainment.  It is always very nice although last year one of the young men servers dumped a plate of food down the back of Pat's clothes.  We cleaned it up and didn't let it spoil the day but it will always be a memorable one.

Good Morning Pat thank you for the devotional today and Chris thak you for anotheron the Holy Spirit.

Janet, candling is when the top layer of hair is gathered in small portions, twisted from the crown to the end and then all the little ends that are sticking out are cut off. this leaves the hars smooth and shining, with no split ends and not frizzing ends.

It is cold here thhis morning and I don't thing it ever got above 40* yesterday. When it is this cold I always wear pants toc hurch because I also wear thermals. The cold realy effects me and I tend to shiver, so I have to dress comfortable for me. Well I must get ready for church now so I will return later.

Hello!  Just popping in for a minute before we head to church.  We combined the morning and evening service into one afternoon service due to the weather.

Pat, I am so sorry about your tooth.  That is never fun.

Wish I could stay longer, but I here strange noises coming from Travis's vacinity, and I probably should go check! :P

Ruth

Good afternoon:

Pat and Chris thanks for the messages.

Pat I will be so glad when the tooth situation is over for you.

My hubby is away on a School Bus Charter from our Church,  he took the college and career age group to Muskoka Baptist Conference Centre Friday evening and then headed back today to bring them home.

Then unknown to him when he gets home we will then be going to our daughters for dinner.

Ruth Ann I hope also that your aches and pains go away.

Ria wonderful to read your posts as well.

Everyone have a great day.

A DRAW, I WOULD SAY!!!!!!!! :) ;) :D

Subject: Computer gender A language teacher was explaining to her class that in French,
nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as
masculine or feminine. "House" in French, is feminine-"la maison."

     "Pencil" in French, is masculine-"le crayon."

     One puzzled student asked, "What gender is computer?"

     The teacher did not know, and the word was not in her French
dictionary. So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately
enough, by gender, and asked them to decide whether "computer" should be
a
masculine of a feminine noun.

     Both groups were required to give four reasons for their
recommendation.

    The men's group decided that computer should definitely be of the
feminine gender ('la computer"), because:

         1.  No one but their creator understands their internal logic;

        2.  The native language they use to communicate with other
computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;

        3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory
for possible later retrieval;

        4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself
spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

     The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be
masculine  ('le computer") because:

         1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;

         2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for
themselves;

        3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the
time they ARE the  problem;

       4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had
waited a little longer,  you could have gotten a better model.

Margit thought this was hilarious, for some reason that only women will understand. :)

Janet

It is 3:22 here, and you are still on page one!  Hmmm!

We enjoyed the service this morning at our church, the pastor talked about this previous week's events (the awful half-time show of Super Bowl; the horrific death of the little girl, Carlie, in Florida) and then preached on the 38th book of Genesis, about Joseph's life, and how he did right in spite of being mistreated and maligned, and how he always kept rising to the top.  He emphasized to all of us, how integrity, faith in God and hard, honest work will put you over in every situation.  It was a great sermon.

We then went to Pigs R Us and had lunch with the kids, then I dressed Abby in her dance costumes and took photos of her.  They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.  She kept getting into the shadows.  But I think there are a few I can use to paint from, as I want to paint her again while she is little.

Now we are home, and I must get my painting stuff together and into the car, class starts in the morning!  ;D ;D  So don't expect me to be around much this week!

See you later!

Good evening all.

Church was great today.  I didn't realize today was 'The Bridge' until about 10 minutes before it started.  So I went to 'The Bridge'.  The youth minister is awesome.  He really knows how to get the message across.  Jerry and I did at least 36 duplicated tapes of both ministers.  That is great.  I gave one to Tony and Charlene last night of the youth ministers sermon.  They agreed...he is great.  And in his mid 20's!!!!

Jerry and I ate at Arby's...about all the restaurants were filled to the max so we had fast food today.  We got to his house and Bubba remembered me.  I brushed him...he loves that.  But, oh my, that cat sure does shed.  I had on navy pants.  I soon had a new design....navy pants with furry legs.  I sure am glad that Ali and Inky doesn't shed a tenth as much as Bubba.  Then I took a nap.  I woke up.  Bubba was in Jerry's chair and Jerry was napping on his bed (Jerry's bed, not Bubba's  :o).  I hate to 'nap and run' but that's what I did.  I don't like driving with the sun on the hood of my car and that would be in the evening.  So I am home and Ali and Inky were glad to see me.  They are quiet right now.  Wonder what is going on..... ::)

We're still

Nice devotional Pat.  Thanks.

We don't hear enough about the Holy Spirit now.  As a new Christian, I was taught that the Holy Spirit would leave us if grieved by our behavior.  That has stuck in my mind all these years....Thanks Chris & Margit.  Now about computers.....!!

Sonja, the kids loaned me the DVD 'Radio' and it is as good as you said.  I really enjoyed it and it is good family viewing.

Nice to see you posting Mullet!  Have missed you.

Sarah, you sure are a busy gal.  Kind of like my granddaughter.  Hope things area better at your church.

That darn cat got into trouble this weekend.  Amanda had a girlfriend visiting and Mr. P didn't like the scent of her poodle, etc.  Ended up spending most of the weekend in the laundry room on his night bed.  I would have rescued him.....but he shows too much interest in my Canary.

God Bless and have a nice evening all.  Liz

Judy McKenna

Norm wasn't feeling well, so I went to church by myself this morning.
Tried a new little church., and really loved it.
I'm hoping Pat is feeling better so she could go.  She wasn't able to go this morning.
The folks there were so helpful, and helped me put the walker into the trunk.  Its not heavy...just awkward.

Rags is wanting out.....I have to keep an eye on him  He "thinks" he has a girl friend behind us.  Little does he know.....well, you get the drift...LOL

Janet... such a lovely phot of you here.  Did Darryl take that?

I never did get over to see your photography... I'm going to do that right now!

Pat, sorry about the tooth ache.  As someone has said, I'll be glad when you get all your teeth problems fixed up.

We have had a good day today.  Good Sunday School and morning worship.  This morning our preacher talked on the subject,  "Nobody will know."  So many things are done when people think no one will know.  But the Lord always knows.

Tonight the sermon was about complaining.  The Israelites complained so much when they left Egypt.  Our  preacher Vick, brought out so many good points for us tonight.  It was a very practical lesson.

I hope you all will have a good night's rest.

Hi Everyone...

Well after being drugged a lot and up and down from my bed, I went to church this evening and it was wonderful.  The guest pastor spoke on the Graciousness of God.  He started in Genesis and touched on Exodus, Chronicles and ended up in Nehemiah and it was a feast for sure.

Thanks Papa John!  I'll be so happy when the teeth are done too.  It will be another couple of months I expect.

It's so good to see you all here.

Hi Soni!  {{{{Hugs to Troy and Zach and Chandraya and Lila Mae!}}}}

Liz, great to see you.

Hey!  It's wonderful to see all of you.  Thanks for the message from Al, Marilyn.

Judy, I agree about the folks at Royal City Baptist.  What a great group of folks there!  They are so friendly and helpful!

Glad you're warm in that little home, Jeanne.

Etta Sue, please tell Jerry how much I miss him in here.  I love seeing his posts.

Chris, what a great article to read about grieving the Holy Spirit.  Thanks for bringing it here.

Karma, how's Trav doing?  And Nards?  Tell Nard23874569872223##$%^ that I miss him!

Ruth, did Mel enjoy going to Sue's for dinner?

Now, if any of you haven't gone to see Janet's underwater photos yet, you just have no idea what you are missing!  They are wonderful!

Another wonderful service tonight by the youth. I am late getting home because it was one of those services where the Holy Spirit was moving and moving and moving and no one wanted to leave the building. I was a fantastic service.

I will say good night now and go to my nice warm bed to watch TV. after I turn off the furnace for the night. Turning it off cause I don't like the high bills, need to save some $$$.
