Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

      Morning Devotional...

Rejoice with me;. . . I have found my sheep which was lost.
      Luke 15:6

Many years ago in a humble Irish cottage, John Darby sat at the bedside of a dying shepherd boy.

With a prayer to God for guidance, he asked the lad how he had acquired the terrible cough.

"Aye, sir," he said, "it was about a year ago. I went out into a cold stormy night to search for my father's lost sheep and didn't stop till I found it. The poor creature was tired and helpless so I just carried it home on my shoulders."

Mr. Darby then had the perfect message, the gospel story of the lost sheep in Luke 15. The boy drank it in and found safe passage Home in the arms of the Good Shepherd.
      --E. MacLelland

      Jesus my Shepherd is;
'twas He that loved my soul,
'Twas He that cleansed me with His blood,
'Twas He that made me whole.

Hello, everybody.  Still way behind on all the things I need to get done, so I can't stay long.

Ria, I hope you can get some help for your eyes.  I'm sure that's not much fun to endure.

It's a sick world.  A man that my boss went to high school with has been found dead.  I won't get too descriptive, because it's not a thing for young eyes to read about, but apparently his death was at the hand of his wife and possibly his son.  Normal people who do terrible things.  Apparently the son is a "Goth", for those who know what that means.

Anyway, on that cheerful note :(, I'm going to get back to work.  I'll try to check in later if I can, but I hope you all have a great day.

Nards, that is terrible news.  Very sad!  :(

Ria~what breed of dogs do you have?  Hope your Appointment goes well with the eye doctor.

Quoteby Pat~In 1 Thessalonians 4:17, it says, Pray without ceasing.

I think this means to be in constant prayer.  Never take the Lord out of you mind or thoughts.

Pat~that is an awesome story about the song "Amazing Grace".    I didn't realize the story behind it.  Thanks for sharing that.  I will pass it on to the folks I know here.

I am going to teach my daughter to sing that song and hopefully she will know it well enough to sing it next year at the Spotlight competition. She already sings it with me when I sing, but doesnt know all the words to it yet.

      Al Moak

Soni - I wish I could hear Chandraya singing that - it would be wonderful indeed!

      Marilyn

Good Morning to everyone here and those to come. I am here a little earlier today than usual. The Sun is bright this morning and the temperature is supposed to be in the high 60's with breezes. I just may get to take the dogs out walking this afternoon.

That dog with the biggest ears is so funny, Iwonder how they got his ears to stand out like that for the photos.

Quoteby Pat~In 1 Thessalonians 4:17, it says, Pray without ceasing.
To me means that in everything we say or do--do it prayerfully and for the glory of God. We can be in prayer as we go about our daily chores , pray while we are driving down the road., even while we are cleaning the commode.

Hi everyone.  We have sunny and beautiful day here in Georgia although it isn't suppose to be very warm and they predict some brisk winds later today.  My wife just left to go to the grocery store so we should be eating this weekend, not that we miss many meals.   :D :D

Pat, the little story in the devotional today says a lot and made me think of how we often can put ourselves into a situation and finally understand.

Judy, hope you have a fine trip to Pennsylvania today.  Hope you will be able to check in while you are there.

Ria, sorry to read that your eyes are giving you some new problems.

Nards, that is certainly a sad situation involving the death of the father.  I have seen young people who are obviously into the "goth" experience and it makes you shudder.  Last year our daughter-in-laws elderly aunt was murdered and just this week her son went to the police and confessed he had done it.  I can't even imagine taking the life of a parent or of anyone for that matter except in self-defense or time of war.  Our society has many sick people.

Sonja, I agree with you that the "Amazing Grace" hymn is very beautiful.  It almost sounds like bagpipes playing.  I have listed to it several times this morning.  Your daughter losing that first tooth is a memorable day.  Did you get a picture to mark the occasion?  Hope your cough gets better quickly.

Ruthie, thanks for sharing the information yesterday and I look forward to reading the second method.

Liz, what a nice thing to do for you friend in the hospital as you express your caring in a tangible manner.  What an example of Christian love this will be to these folks who are not Christians.

Jeanne, we sure could use some of that rain down our way.  Our March turned out to be the third driest in recorded history for our area.  Hopefully we will start getting some of those April showers soon.  Things are really greening up down here and are going to need watering.

Today is a day we need to keep Ruth Ann's daughter-in-law in our prayers as she has surgery.

A special hi to all of the posters I haven't commented to directly.  Glad to see you posting.

I have been reading the Oswald Chambers "My Utmost for  His Highest" as a part of my daily readings and the piece for today contains the following that I wanted to share:

      Quote
Since mine eyes have looked on Jesus,
I've lost sight of all beside,
      So enchained my spirit's vision,
      Gazing on the Crucified.

      Pat

      Good Morning Everyone...

Just rushing around getting ready to drive to London.  Have quite a few things to do before I leave.

I woke today with a blacker eye!  One of the little bumps from the fall 2 1/2 weeks ago much have burst or spread in the night and I'm a sorry-looking site!  HAHAHAHA!

Glad you liked the hymn story, Soni.  That will be really nice for you to teach Chandraya all the words.  Hope you tape it.

      Hi Ria and Al.

Sorry about that man, Nards.  It really is a sick world.  Surely it won't be long till our Lord comes back!

      Must run.  Where's Jenny today?

SONJA we have two little dogs a poodle grey
and a maltese white but booth can barking terrible. When the weather is good and when my husband Ko is away then i put them outsite. But when he is coming home then they are
coming again in house. They can be sweet but sometimes.

I wish you all a nice day in Holland it is 5.11PM

      Janet

Like several others, I am just rushing through to say hello.  I have a framing job to finish so I can deliver it to Hugoton when I go soon to pick up Abby.  She is going to school this morning, rather than this afternoon, because they are having "Ag Awareness Day" today (whatever that is!) ;)

Anyway, Ria, I hope your eyes are better today, and Soni, hope your cold is lots better, too.

Larry, glad you don't have to stop eating just yet! ;) ;D

So much bad news, makes you really long for Jesus to return!

      When We See Christ
      (Click to hear music)

      By Esther Kerr Rusthoi

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
      We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.

      Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
      Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race 'til we see Christ.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
      We're tossed and driven on, no human help in sight;
But there is One in heaven who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem--just go to Him in prayer.

      Refrain

Life's day will soon be o'er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide to glory, safe at last.
We'll share the joys of heaven--a harp, a home, a crown.
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.

      Hello, bonjour, everybody!!

Sonya, where you the toothfairy last night?  My 9 year old just figured out a couple months ago that there was no "real" toothfairy, although, as she told me, she'd been suspecting as much for a loooong time :)

Out of curiousity, do any of you participate in other photography sites here?  I know some of you from DPChallenge, but I was wondering if you participate in sites such as Betterphoto or DPContest.  I don't know why I'm wondering about it, but there it is.

      Ursula

      Sonifo

Ursula, I participate on Betterphoto.  I just submitted a photo for the March challenge in the portrait area.  It is my first submission so I am excited to see how it does.

      Are you?

Yes I did play tooth fairy, but I think she knows it was mom and dad.  She is a smart little booger.  :D

      uiba

Yeah, I do participate in Betterphoto and DPContest.  I think at heart I'm quite greedy  :-[ and I like getting "real" prizes for winning.

I like both of those sites very much.

      Ursula

      uiba

Oh, and I forgot, I very much enjoy the judging process at DPContest - made some good photographer friends that way.  I'm totally mystified about how Betterphoto chooses their winners.

      uiba

Another question:  What are the stars under the name and membership status?

QuoteI'm totally mystified about how Betterphoto chooses their winners.

      How do they vote?

QuoteAnother question:  What are the stars under the name and membership status?

My green stars mean that I am the moderator of the New Every Morning.  Where ever you see someone with green stars it means they are the moderator of the area or threads.

I believe you get more stars if you post more too, but yours will be yellow.  I think.  The site has changed forums so I don't know the colors yet.

I have spoken with Ruth Ann twice this morning. The first time she had not heard anything  on Pam yet. She called me just a few minutes ago to say that the surgery for Pam was postponed for an hour while one of themachines was repaired. Pam has come through the surgery just fine and will be going home in about an hour. Wow that was fast to be going home was my reply. PRAISE THE LORD.

No idea.  I've been trying to figure that one out for a few months (not very hard I suppose), but haven't yet.  But you do get to win nice, useful prizes :)

Thanks for the answer on the stars.  I hope to have three stars some day (the collector in me coming out :) )

Prayer: At Home in the Prayer Chamber

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in
his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down
on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before
his God, as was his custom since early days.
      --Daniel 6:10

Thomas a' Kempis wrote that the man of God ought to be more at home
in his prayer chamber than before the public....

No man should stand before an audience who has not first stood before
God. Many hours of communion should precede one hour in the pulpit.
The prayer chamber should be more familiar than the public platform.
Prayer should be continuous, preaching but intermittent.

It is significant that the schools teach everything about preaching
except the important part, praying. For this weakness the schools
      are not to be blamed, for the reason that prayer cannot be taught;
it can only be done. The best any school or any book (or any article)
can do is to recommend prayer and exhort to its practice. Praying
itself must be the work of the individual. That it is the one
religious work which gets done with the least enthusiasm cannot but
be one of the tragedies of our times.  God Tells the Man Who Cares,
      70-71.

"Lord, I pray today that I might more and more be at home in my
prayer chamber. It's exciting to be in the pulpit; it's vital to be
in the closet. Let me do this work with deeper commitment and
      greater enthusiasm. Amen."

QuoteIn 1 Thessalonians 4:17, it says, Pray without ceasing.
The word that's translated "ceasing" would be better translated "fainting" or "quitting."  So it just means we need to be faithful in prayer and not be a quitter.  We ought to keep on praying.  It's not that repetition "bowls God over," but it's best for us, keeping us from forgetting what we've presented to God.
