Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Morning Devotional...

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear.
Psalm 46:1-2

"Trouble" is a most comprehensive term.

Its aspects are wide, both in variety and degree.

But of this we are assured--God is greater than all our multiplied troubles! He remains our indestructible Shelter and our inexhaustible Support.

Let us, then, not be consumed by fear and anxiety, for He is "abundantly available help," as a marginal reading expresses it.
--G. Hall

When trouble, like a gloomy cloud,
Has gathered thick and thundered loud,
He near my soul has ever stood;
His lovingkindness--O how good!

I like what you said, Pat, "God is greater than all our multiplied troubles!".  That is so true.

Take care all.

Hi everyone.  Have had a busy morning.

I slept in a little later this morning so had to go walking after the Friday men's coffee.  When I got home my neighbor came over and helped me put up a grab bar in our other bathroom by the bathtud to make it easier for our daughter to get in and out of hte tub as her balance is being affected by the neurophy in her feet.

Then I put out some bug control around my house as it is getting to be that time of the year.  Later today I will try to get the fire ant killer put over the yard.  They are predicting a little rain this weekend so what to have it on the ground before then.

Papa John, my good friend just bought a new mower yesterday.  I don't even have a lawn mower anymore and have had to use a landscape company to keep my yard for the last three years.

Karma, sorry to read that you and Nards are "under the weather".

Marilyn, are you doing too much lifting as you help Bea get ready to move?  Sorry that you have had to cancel your trip to see Jane and Nita but hopefully you will be able to do it later.

Ria, sorry to read that your husband will have to wait so long to take the next step in dealing with his snoring.

Glad to see Pat back online as she guides us here.

Ursula, good to see you posting today.  It sounds like you are a very experienced photographer if you are serving as a judge.

Think I will take a little nap this afternoon as wore myself out this morning.

Larry, a nap sounds good!  I've felt so tired sometimes lately, must be Spring.  I hope you wake up refreshed :)

About serving as a judge, I'm not very experienced at all.  Anyone can become a judge.  It's a volunteer position, 10 judges per month, 5 with 15 (I think it's 15) or more wins, 5 with less than 15 wins.  So, if you have less than 15 wins it's a bit more difficult to get in.  It's a fantastic learning experience!

Prayer: Whole Life Prayer

"I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in
him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.... If you
abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you
desire, and it shall be done for you."
--John 15:5,7

Prayer at its best is the expression of the total life....

All things else being equal, our prayers are only as powerful as
our lives. In the long pull we pray only as well as we live....

Most of us in moments of stress have wished that we had lived so
that prayer would not be so unnatural to us and have regretted
that we had not cultivated prayer to the point where it would be
as easy and as natural as breathing....

Undoubtedly the redemption in Christ Jesus has sufficient moral
power to enable us to live in a state of purity and love where
our whole life will be a prayer. Individual acts of prayer that
spring out of that kind of total living will have about them a
wondrous power not known to the careless or the worldly
Christian.
The Root of the Righteous, pp. 91-93

"Lord, the real key here is that there is 'sufficient moral
power' available. In my own strength I fail, but thank You for
Your enabling power. Amen."

I would love to comment to all but just don't have the umph or the time.

Ivalou got her esophagus dilated and a biopsy from an inflamed area.  She is to call the doctor in 3-4 days to find out the results.  We stopped to eat on our way home.  Ivalou said she could tell already that the food was going down better.  Praise God.

Inky is at the vets.  Last night was the last night she will use my toes as a pin cushion with her little claws.  I opted for lazer surgery...declawing and spaying.  I figured that I was spending too much already so why not spend more for lazer.   :o No bleeding and faster recovery.  Also Inky is a GIRL.  ::) Remember?  My cat in 1993, I thought was a girl....Punkin was a HE.  I thought Al E. Cat was a boy....Ali is a GIRL.  So I named Inky with a unisex name just in case but she is a GIRL.

I go tomorrow to get Inky at 11:30am.  She was such a good kitty riding in the carrier and the car.  She wasn't scared or didn't cry.  She let the vet hold her and cuddle her.  She, the vet, couldn't get over how long her nose is and how long her ears are.  Hopefully she will grow into them.  Ali was like that, too.

I picked up the stuff I am to drink before the CT liver scan.  I told them I may just go there and drink it so I can be close to the bathroom.   ::)

Hello!  We are having internet connection problems, may get disconnected any second.  I just wanted to let you know we are okay, and praise God!  It is RAINING in Kansas!

Darrel and I are going to the Senior Prom tonight--for Senior Citizens!  ;D Our bank is sponsoring it, and I think it will be so nice.  He is even wearing that new suit we bought months and months ago (in spite of the rain!)  The bank is having someone take photos, too!

I made three longs posts last night, lost all of them with the internet problem, so will stop now.  See you later!

The repair man is working on the problem now, so hope it will be fixed by tomorrow.

Papa John

Good afternoon everyone.  We have a house full of company right now, our daughter Beth and her husband James, and two of their daughters Martha Nell and Ruth.  Tomorrow is the big day of a shower here for Beth's other daughter, Robbie.

Larry, our neighbor keeps our lawn mowed and he also fertilizes it and puts all the good things to make it free from weeds etc.  It is beautiful like a carpet.  This morning he cut the front yard because Cornelia wanted it perfect for tomorrow.

My son-in-law, James, helped me take the new mower out of the box and get it fixed for mowing.  Then he said, "Can I cut the back yard?"  Ha !   I said of course he could.  So he is mowing the back right now.

This morning we went to have a check up with my surgeon who said everything looked good but he sent me to have a CT Scan.  I had to drink the quart of barium.  Not good.  Then they inject some dye through an IV and make the pictures of the abdomen.  Next week I will get a report.  This is to check up to make sure the cancer hasn't spread to nymph nodes or liver.  He thinks everything is OK but said we couldn't leave it up to chance.

Rom 8:26-28

27   And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Hey!  I'm actually here for the first time in a long time!

So sorry, everybody.

First, thanks so much for all the good wishes on my birthday last Tuesday.  I finally just now got a chance to go look them over.  You guys are so special.  Thanks!

Second, apologies for my truancy from the site.  It has been and still is and may get more incredibly busy for me.  To explain would probably bore everyone to death, because I know that you guys are all very busy too.  But, anyway, I do check in from time to time but haven't had much opportunity to post.

Yeah, Karma and I have both been feeling rather uggh.  Being extremely tired doesn't help when you have to take medicine that makes you drowsy...  I found it incredibly hard to get out of bed the last couple of mornings.

Anyway, God is good, but sometimes I forget that and absorb myself in a really selfish point of view.

It also seems to me that Satan is fighting the church incredibly forcefully right now.  Christian friends that I have ALL seem to be under unusual pressure of some sort - different pressures for different people.  I suppose he knows his time is short.

I have also learned some things in the past couple of days about some "Christians" in America that have left me VERY sad.  I won't go into any details, because this isn't the place for that, but there are simply some things that I cannot understand.

This post doesn't seem to me to be very cheerful, so I'm tempted to just erase it and start over, but it may be that this means something to someone else.  I like to encourage people, but I have, strangely enough, found that it is sometimes an encouragement to learn that a brother or sister in Christ is having the same problems I am.  I think it's foolish to say that Christians don't have problems.  I have tons of them, and I hope I'm not the only one :)

I really do hope you all have a GREAT day!

By the way - I had Japanese for lunch, and it was GOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Hi, Nards, I'm sorry to hear that you're so sad.  I looked at your journal, and that's awful stuff, like you say, no place for it here.  I just wanted to say that the Lord takes care of us always, in sad times and in happy times, and He'll take care of you.

When I'm sad, I  like to remember Psalm 121:

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and for evermore.

Ruth

Glad to see you back Pat.

Thanks goodness it is Friday and the start of a wonderful weekend of rest.

Something interestering and it does work for me. For those of us that love our evening caffeine and pay the price (loss of sleep).  Try drinking a glass of very cold water before heading for bed, and you should have a much better rest.

Ruth
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Jeanne Lee

This afternoon the washer was draining and suddenly we heard water gurgling.  The soapy water was backing up into the toilet.  So Gene called the park maintenance, someone came and checked the septic tank (which we share with two other trailers, one a woman who insists on using Clorox all the time).  It's full and they'll be coming tomorrow to pump it out.  Meanwhile, I flushed the toilet and instead of emptying it kept filling and filling and the tank wouldn't close so the water kept running...  Oh well, I was going to wash the bathroom floor tomorrow anyway.  ::)  Now we have shut off the intake on the toilet and have put a bucket in the tub to fill for flushing - hoping that will work.  Always something isnt' it?

But that's such a little bitty problem when I think of some people.  We have a roof over our heads.  Our home is warm and snug.  We have pure running water.  There is plenty of good nourishing food in the refrigerator and freezer, and gas and electric to cook it with, and good healthy apetites to enjoy it with.  We have each other and best of all, we have our Heavenly Father looking out for us.  What could be better?

I have not been at my computer since the 19th and have had sooo many posts to read.  The devotionals were all great and Sonja did a super job.  Sang along with lots of the hymns and felt some of the dark clouds leave.

Have been fighting against depression the past while...guess all the changes have finally hit!  Trying to spend time outdoors ... went and played some golf, went to the 'big city'. Yesterday Wendy & I again cleaned her friends house.  She is still quite weak and ill.  Wendy is not in shape to do these things but can't let her best friend struggle...I would never make it as a cleaning lady...We plan to go once more and hope that our bodies hold together.

Amanda is having great success with that rabbit we rescued.  Now up close and personal and it is a boy.
He is going to make a great show bunny at 4H as he likes to be groomed and handled.  God really sent a blessing in that bunny as it has helped her get over the loss of her prize show gal, Sadie.

The Jones team won in curling today!  Boy, was I happy.  Used to be an avid curler, so it is of real interest.  Most folks think it compares to watching paint dry!!!!!  Our BC team is out of the contest, so am giving hockey a rest.

BC is having summer weather instead of Spring.  The gardens are so beautiful and things are growing like mad.  I must get busy and take some photos.

Read a rather cute joke:

A preacher phoned the city's newspaper.  "Thank you very much,"  said he, "for the error you made when you announced my sermon topic for last Sunday.  The topic I sent was 'What Jesus saw in a Publican.'  You printed it as "What Jesus saw in a Republican."  I had the biggest crowd all year!"

God bless and pleasant dreams.
Liz
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Pat

Liz, I was happy for the Jones team too!  I know nothing about curling but I really enjoy watching it.  I also enjoy watching her each morning on CBC TV when she's not competing.

I'm so sorry about your suffering from depression.  It can be so bad sometimes.
