Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Regarding Brother Iain

Morning Devotional...

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.  And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:2-3

The believer in Christ has been brought up, set up, kept up, and tuned up.

Saved from the mire and put into the choir!

Now, that's something to sing about.

Are you singing this new song today? Anyone joining in?

He Lifted Me
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Charles H. Gabriel

"For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:3-5

In loving kindness Jesus came,
My soul in mercy to reclaim,
And from the depths of sin and shame
Thro' grace He lifted me.

Refrain
From sinking sand, He lifted me,
With tender hand, He lifted me,
From shades of night to planes of light,
O praise His name, He lifted me!

He called me long before I heard,
Before my sinful heart was stirred,
But when I took Him at His Word,
Forgiv'n He lifted me.

Refrain
From sinking sand, He lifted me,
With tender hand, He lifted me,
From shades of night to planes of light,
O praise His name, He lifted me!

His brow was pierced with many a thorn,
His hands by cruel nails were torn,
When from my guilt and grief forlorn,
In love He lifted me.

Refrain
From sinking sand, He lifted me,
With tender hand, He lifted me,
From shades of night to planes of light,
O praise His name, He lifted me!

Hi Everyone-I got the PC Back lol-Earlier after School we took a drive up the river-We had never gone that way before and it was really pretty I took 40 pictures lol-I wished I had dsl or cable though because it takes forever to load my pictures up to shutterfly on dial up.
My New Camera takes wonderful pictures and I am really happy with it. We were suppose to get a 20 dollar rebate back on the larger memory card and they wrote and told us that we didn't qaulify so my husband called the office store where we bought it-we finally ended up with a 20 dollar gift certificate for the store.
My husband doesn't like those rebates where you have to send them in-we have lost money many times that way. Anyway praise the Lord we got it.
one of these days I hope to learn how to show pictures on here.
Ohh I forgot to answer I think Judy M. question-my little guy is 5-this is the 2nd time he has done this-Im off to bed because once my husband leaves in the morning I need to get up lol.
Hugs
Rachelle

Ruth Ann Bice

It's not easy to rear the young ones. Sometimes discipline is necessary to keep them from injuring themselves. No wonder you worry about him!

My hubby died when the children were really young and I had to realize that, in my instance, I had to learn to become very quiet and get down to eye level with the child who was acting out - for themm to know that I was one-on-one really serious with just them, they took verbal correction easier.

And, I saved the screaming for real panic situations - like a child almost entering a roadway, for instance, or other potentially life threatening action. That way, when mom screamed, eveyone froze until they figured out what caused the scream!

Whew! Rearing children is definitely for those much younger than I am now.  :P

Y'all have a good day.

Hi everyone.  I didn't go walking this morning as am preparing for the medical exam later in the day and decided to save my energy.  However, will go to coffee shortly.  Have to keep my priorities in order, right?   :D :D :D

Ria, sorry to read that it has been so difficult for you son.  There are some questions for which there really don't seem to be acceptable answers.  Ria, glad to hear that your diet is going well.  I find that changing eating patterns is really related to establishing habits and after the initial period it really isn't taht difficult.  It does involve a lot of self-discipline.  Sure you will do well.

Rachelle, sure hope you are able to show us some of your pictures from your trip.  Your son getting out of the house on his own reminds me of an occurrence we have had here in the Atlanta area.  A juvinile judge left her 4 year old daughter home alone during the night to go to the airport to pick up some luggage.  The little girl woke up and left the house and was rescued by some passerbys.  The judge was in a lot of trouble and just last week resigned her position saying she knew what she did was terribly wrong.  Rachelle, realize this isn't your situation as you were certainly there.

Janet, thanks for deleting the extra posts.  Also for the information.

Judy M. no results yet from the test.  Maybe today or tomorrow or even later.

Liz, yes that yuckie stuff isn't pleasant.  But it isn't all that bad either.  I'm hoping the results will be in soon, for me and for Etta Sue too.

Larry, the poor judge IS in trouble.  Sometimes people make unwise decisions and take terrible risks and later face awful consequences.  And of all people it seems like she would know better.   Often we reap what we sow and the harvest comes immediately.

Hello everyone!  Rachelle, Bernard has a cousin who is having the same problem with her son (Chad is 3 and a 1/2 or so).  This past winter, they would find him out in the snow with just a tee shirt or something like that.  They have tried all manner of door locks (he figures out how to unlock them) putting the locks up high (he is a climber) etc.  I know that is bound to be a frustrating experience.  Fortunately, right now, Travis likes being outside, but can't manipulate the locks (of course, I can't manipulate the locks either!)

Travis just informed me he needs little pants (shorts), socks, shoes, and a big jacket, and that Bear (his stuffed animal) needs pants, socks and shoes, too, because they want to go outside.

Guess that means I need to get going!!

Take care ya'll, and maybe I'll be in later.

Pat:  Thanks for the "lifting song" this morning

Judy:  So good to read that Norm is feeling better and yes, I understand your thankfulness for Norm going "alone" to church.

Rachelle:  We have been duped by the rebate scams as well, for a large rebate, we made a  copy of the bar code that we were supposed to send in.  We did send the original bar code in and they said we had not, so, sent a copy of such.  Still waiting but we did get one of two rebates back.

I totally agree with your statement.  Even at a young age the child understands and needs to respect the parents rules.  If broken then that child needs to be disiplined and a long talking to.  My kids always say, "I don't like the long talks because it always makes me feel bad for what I done."  And if they don't mind that time then further dicipline actions will be taken.  I try to avoid a spanken if all possible, but sometimes that is what it takes.  I also make them repeat what I told them 3 times and tell me what will happen if they disobey again.  This usually helps to instill it in their brains. hehehe...

Pat!~I really enjoyed the devotion today.  It seems to be what is going on in my life right now.  Thanks.  God is good!

Etta Sue

Thanks to everyone for thinking of me yesterday while I was having my CT scan.  It turned out pretty good...the physical part of the testing.  I was surprised by having to have an IV...imaging fluid.  I told her I was hard to stick.  So I came home with two areas.  The first stick didn't work.  I am to hear from my doctor today or tomorrow about the results.

Janet ~ A great chuckle to start the morning.

Papa John ~ The nurse said that stuff I drank was Berium. (sp)  It didn't taste bad....kind of pepperminty!

Rachelle ~ I know what you mean.  I thought I had a rebate for Norton Antivirus and Norton Antispam.  I was disqualified for both.  I did and sent exactly what they asked but I guess I didn't dot an 'i' or cross a 't' right.  That would be scary for a little one to get outside while you were still sleeping.  A lot of danger out there!

Ria ~ I have cholesterol problems.  The urologists gave me a list of food to avoid.  And now this liver problem.  I think I need to see a nutritionist to find out what to eat and what to avoid.  I know I would feel much better even losing a few pounds.  I would feel super if I could lose a lot!!!!  Also I don't like exercise.  I don't like to sweat!!!

Larry ~ Your one-liners are neat!  So true...sadly to say.

Sarah ~ Did you get to school on time?  Remember, no speeding!!

DOES THIS HAPPEN TO YOU?????
Last Sunday, the 18th, Jerry and I went to Lowe's where I purchased vertical blinds for my picture window.  One side has stopped opening.  I talked to Patsy and told her my problem.  She said she would call the company Monday and find out what to do to fix the blind OR if I couldn't then she would find out if they will replace them or send someone to fix them for me.  Then she would call me back.  I even asked her...'You aren't going to forget, are you?  I want this blind fixed.'  She even answered...'Oh, no!  I will call and you will hear from me.'  FAMOUS LAST WORDS!  So I went to Lowe's yesterday after my test.  I talked to a very nice gentleman who helped me.  HE callED the company.  I got instructions on how to fix my blind by them sending Lowe's a fax.  Now I need Ivalou to come over and help me remove my wooden cornice board so I can fix my blind.  It is still under warranty and if this doesn't fix it, they will send a new header.  That is 112.75 inches!!!!  A big blind.

Then I was looking for a part that broke on my string trimmer.  I couldn't find it at Lowe's or Home Depot.  I called the company and was told that the part for the 2000 model fits the 1000 model.  So I got the part at Lowe's last evening.  Now I can weed eat again.

Ivalou and I had a great time at Lion's Club last evening.  We are Associate members since our husbands were members and are deceased.  We don't have voting priviledges but get to go to Family night meetings.  Who doesn't turn down a pitch-in dinner?

Today I woke with great intentions to get out there and mow the yard again.  Then I checked the temperature.  Only to get in the 50's today and tomorrow the 70's.  Guess who is going to wait to mow the yard?

<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

I hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning Good devotion Pat, thanks.

Yesterday after Savannah got out of school and I got home from work. Gilbert, the kids and I went hiking. We started out for the fish hatchery in Blue Lake. Passed by a nice house for rent, so Gilbert called the number from his cell phone. They are looking for a 3 bedroom house.

Then when we got to the Fish Hatchery it was closed at only 4:45 pm so we took off down this really narrow road back toward Arcata, (West End road, Al) We went to the river (Mad River) where we got out and hiked down river, The kids threw rocks in the water and I took some photos. Then we hiked up the bank further down river and back to the car.

Next we turned off the freeway at North Bank road and went to the Azalea Reserve and hiked one of the trails there looking to see if the Azaleas were in bloom, I took   photos of some the things we saw there but there was only one Azalea that had the blooms all the way open.

It looked like there were more on the other side of the road and up the mountain. But we didn't hike on that side this time. We will be going back in the next two weeks when they are blooming more,.

I have  prepared all the photos for posting to my website and will do that this afternoon. I hope to get some posted here too. I have to get the Water one in before the end of the month.

Off to work now

Hello, everyone!  I think I'm mostly over that cold/allergy attack, but who knows.  It nearly knocked me for a loop last night.

Just going through my yearly motorcycle attack.  It happens every spring when the Harleys start to rumble and the black leather becomes the most commont wardrobe...  The only problem is I don't have a bike at all :(  :(

Donations accepted.

I was supposed to be at a Zig Ziglar motivational seminar today, but, well, I guess I just wasn't motivated enough to go... :o

Gonna leave y'all alone for now.  Hope everyone has a great day!
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Thank you all for the birthday wishes--was a nice surprise when I returned to see so many good thoughts.

I tried to get a couple of the pixs from my birthday for Pat to post--I see she did a really good job.

I was pretty surprised by the party--the cake was just as good to eat as it looked. My daughter in law said she was running late and never made it to our favorite bakery so stopped and got this one from Shop Rite.

It was one of the best ones we ever eat ; nice and fluffy--real whip cream.

Now it is hubby's turn--his birthday is today and so we are thinking of places to take him to to eat.

Trying not to eat too,too much because we both have to have physicals taken for new insurance company.

I know I have cholestrol problems and I always have what they call a "false positive" on my blood pressure reading because of eating out in restaurants.

Going to back track and see what postings I missed since I was gone ---talk to you later.

Love in Christ,
Joyce

O.K. Pat, I see you put in my picture by my name.

Now I have to get someone to "airbrush" the photo.

Maybe, Sonja,Karmet, or someone can
lighten the dark circles under eyes and the redness --

Na, don't worry about it --that's me; usually I smile more.

Glad to "see" all of you.

Hey, this is "cool".

I just checked back and saw I am the only one here along with 3 guests.

Hi to the guests .....

I looked back and want to thank you for the comments on the juicer.

I was pleasantly surprised that this new juicer doesn't need as much fruit as I thought.

Also.  my hubby mentioned how much you have to do with clean up --it looks easy on TV --but then I remembered my son's hard earned money bought it for us and I just do it.

Juices are really fresh and good.

I even feel a little more lively when I drink the juice.

I will let you know how it goes.

By the way, I did get a couple of Charles Stanley books for my birthday --so now I just have to find the time to read.

Back to work,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Janet

Hmmm..........I was here much earlier and thought I posted.  Senior moment, maybe--I know I was interrupted.

I have finished all the framing orders I have on hand just now, and am so glad to be caught up again--but I hope more come in soon!

Abby called this morning just to say "I love you, Grandma!" ;D ;D ;D

Beth need me to take her to get her pain med refilled, she is having alot of pain in her back and hip.

And.....I have a family reunion newsletter to get out!  So I will go and get with it again.  I'm making progress!

I will come back and visit with you more "personally" later.  Sorry I am in a rush just now.

Nards, I have a motorcycle for sale--want it?  I enjoy listening to Zig Ziglar, too!

Prayer: Pray Without Ceasing

Pray without ceasing.
--1 Thessalonians 5:17

I knew of an able preacher greatly used of the Lord in evangelism and
Bible conferences. He was a busy, busy man. There came the occasion
when someone frankly asked him, "Doctor, tell us about your prayer
life. How do you pray? How much do you pray?"

The man was embarrassed as he replied, "I must confess to you
something I have not confessed before. I do not have the time to
pray as I used to. My time alone with God has been neglected."

Not too long afterward, that preacher sustained a serious failure.
It brought his ministry to an abrupt end, and he was put on the
shelf.

If we want to be honest with God, we will take solemnly the
admonition to pray without ceasing. God's work on this earth
languishes when God's people give up their ministries of prayer and
supplication. I cannot tell you why this is true, but it is true.
Men Who Met God, pp. 46-47

"What a sad statement, Lord: 'I do not have the time to pray as I
used to.' Deliver me from that neglect and keep me faithful in this
high priority. Then guard me from that 'serious failure.' Amen."

Just been listening to that fine preacher Pastor Adrian Rogers, we really enjoy his positive exposition.
He taught on Jacob wrestling with God out of fear of Esau, and his coming to the end of his own self sufficiency.
The pastor said  "save yourselves a lot of trouble, surrender your pride and self sufficiency now, before God brings you to your knees, because it will hurt you and also if you have to wrestle with God, hope to lose, for He must win." :)
Jacob lived the rest of his long life leaning on his staff, (leaning on  God.)
Regards Chris.

If That Isn't Love
(Click to hear music)

Dottie Rambo

He left the splendor of heaven
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha
There to lay down His life for me

And if that isn't love
Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
Yeh if that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love.

Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side
Then he spoke of love and compassion
And He took him to paradise

It's got to be love
Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
Yeh if that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
It's got to be love.

Well, finally got to the doc this morning.  Thanks be to our Lord, though, the pneumonia is already gone.  But he looked at my infected leg, and (or course) prescribed some antibiotics.  So I'm praying that'll take care of that.  I may actually live after all!

Marilyn - that fish hatchery is going to be closed - they're going to be discontinued.

I too am going to try to get over to the Azalea Reserve and take some pix.  The unfortunate thing is, though, that they just don't do the maintenance on the plants that they should do.  Lot's of old, dead wood on them these days.

Pat

Glad about the pneumonia, Al.  Sorry about the leg but glad you got some antibiotics for it.
