Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
2 Timothy 1:5

Thank the Lord for godly mothers!

He has a very special purpose for mothers--to raise children up into men and women for Him.

I thank the Lord for the example my mother showed me when I was a child, and continues to show me today. She is a reminder of what the Lord will do through someone who has dedicated her life to His service.

May we let them know how special they are and how much they have meant to us over the years!

Remind them that not only does the Lord value them, but we do as well.
--Crawford Paul

Just like their Lord's self-sacrifice,
we praise all godly mothers,
Who care so little for themselves,
but lavish it on others.

MY TRIBUTE
(Click to hear music)

by Andrae Crouch

How can I say thanks
for  the things you have done for me?
Things so undeservered,
Yet You gave to prove Your love to me?
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee.

To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
With His blood
He has saved me,
With His power
He has raised me,
To God be the glory
For the things He has done.

Just let me live my life
Let it be pleasing, Lord, to Thee;
And should I gain any praise,
Let it go to Calvary.

With His blood
He has saved me
With His pow'r
He has raised me,
To God be the glory
For the things He has done,

Thanks ... I do pray it is, indeed, a very Happy Mothers Day for all.   :D  After all ... if it weren't for mothers none of us would be here!  Think about it.  ::)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Etta Sue

Hi Mieka...I am so sorry I missed you yesterday.  Fact is, Jerry told me you had been online!!!  I hope to catch you online next week.

I was so busy yesterday but my landscaping is falling into place.  I found out the edgers were 30 cents cheaper than last Sunday.  Tony brought me a small load of river rock.  Then I called the sod farmer to see if he had a portable sod cutter to rent so it wouldn't be necessary to us a spade to bury half the edging.  HE IS GOING TO RUN THE SOD CUTTER FOR ME WEDNESDAY.  God is good!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Hayley...

Why don't you go down to our Practice Place and try clicking on buttons above?  It's fun.  You can do all the large letters and Moving text and Glowing text, etc.

Hope you are having a great Mother's Day.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers.

I was truly bless with with a wonderful Mother and Grandmothers.  They set a wonderful example for my life that I still follow after 63 years.  It was my Mother who involved me in church from a very early stage.  My Grandmother also was a faithful church goer.  I had such a happy childhood.  I was disciplined when appropriate, encouraged when needed, taught a strong work ethic, taught a balance between work and play and greatly loved.  I was also fortunate to grow up in a small community and was isolated from much of the turmoil of the world during my early years.

Hayley, I find the process of writing my post and then selecting it all by holding down the control key and hitting the "a" key to highlight it and then clicking on one of the little icons for color, or bold, or size works very well.  I usually do the size command last and have to go back to the top to set the number as it defaults to a size 10.  Also remember that the tags must surround what you want it to apply to otherwise you get no effect since it is turned on and off at the same point.  As Pat said give it a try in the practice area.

Etta Sue, sounds like your project is taking shape and that you are even saving a few cents, which is always nice.

Pat, a very pretty graphic in the devotional today to honor the Mothers.

We are headed to Sunday School and Church in a few minutes.  I will get to sit in the congregation today as this is youth Sunday and the youth will be doing the entire service, except the youth pastor will be doing the sermon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.  It is going to be another bright and beautiful and hot day here in Georgia.

Hi Larry!

Got home really late and got busy so didn't spend time on a graphic as I had hoped but the message is there.

I'm glad it's not raining today here but it's very overcase and cloudy.

Praise the Savior, ye who know Him!
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him
All we are and have.

Jesus is the Name that charms us;
He for conflict fits and arms us;
Nothing moves and nothing harms us
While we trust in Him.

Trust in Him, ye saints, forever;
He is faithful, changing never;
Neither force nor guile can sever
Those He loves from Him.

Keep us, Lord, O keep us cleaving
To Thyself and still believing,
Till the hour of our receiving
Promised joys with Thee

Then we shall be where we would be,
then we shall be what we should be;
Things that are not now, nor could be,
Soon shall be our own.

This little hymn comes to mind very often - because our Lord is so gracious - all the time!  I just had the best night's sleep I've had in a month (at least), and I can't help thanking my God!

Marilyn

Good morning< As always Pat thank you for the devotional and for all your hard work to kep us going.

Al that is a beautiful hymn.

Etta Sue you are so fortunate to live in a community where you are blessed by your neighbors. Some of us don't even know our neighbors.

This is writen by a Dutch writer i have try to translate it:

WHEN GOD HAS A NAMEPLATE THEN HE HAS WRITEN THERE ON:

I am who I am
I am there for you
And under it with small letters:
Endow may
Intrude may also
Really there will always be done open
What a very great introduction!
An unsightly mustard seed
from vulnerable believe
is all enough
to may endow
to can knock.
That is the great secret
From God's little children

What a wonderful day today and all for us Mothers!!!

Church was awesome.  YOu could realy feel God in His house.  Jerry and I decided to have White Castles for Mother's Day dinner...all the other restaurants were too crowded.  We went to Tony and Charlene's and enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine and the wind.  I took Jerry home and then stopped for some groceries.  I am now in the nice air conditioning.  Tired but a good tired!

God Bless You One and All!

Hayley

Oh boy I'll have to try out that practice place for sure  ;D

Pat: Thanks for the devotional.

Meika:  Good to see you.

Ria: Try to say hello when you can.

Douglas Happy Birthday

I am feeling a little under the weather, I had gone to the dentist for my usual check up and cleaning. I was told that I needed to have a filling under a cap that was done many years ago so that is money.  But added to that another tooth has started aching (the abscess has flared up) -- about 1 1/2 ago I had root canal and now he is suggesting another procedure to correct the problem -- more money.  He is not wanting that I get a partial plate, I know they to cost but I feel that enough is enough. Who has any thoughts on the issue??

Any idea why the correct letter did not show  all I get is a couple of **
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Janet

Ruth, that is in the software, any word that has those four letters in that order, it substitutes the ** for two of them.  (Ask Pat!  ;) ;D)  If you go back and edit and put spaces between the letters of c a n a l, then it will be right.

Church was nice today.  I got cards from two of my girls and a call from one.  All the mothers at church were given a nice key chain, and at dinner I was given a white carnation.

The Mothers Day tea at the care home was nice, and I had several nice comments on my talk.  Now I am home, back into comfy clothes and thinking about a nap!

Sonja, that's another nice photo of you!

Larry, you do sound like a prince of a fellow!

Hi Ria!  Good to read your colorful posts again today.

Hello all!!  Bernard has been fiddling with out 'puter, and it is almost as fast as it was (which is still painfully slow), or maybe a little faster.  So, here I am!  The graphics are still a wee bit sluggish, but I just read past them, and by the time i get to the bottom, they have usually loaded. :-)

Hope everyone is doing well.  It is getting warmer weather here, and my son has absolutely decided that the only place to be during daylight hours is outside!!  Right now, he and Bernard are playing ball, I think.  Actually, I haven't heard them in a few minutes, so there is no telling where they are.

Bernard and I have both taken tomorrow off of work, yea!!  We are going to do something, though we have no idea what, yet.

I'll try to check back in later this evening.

Hi, friends,

The dogs and I returned safely from Atlanta. I'm hurrying fast to try to catch up!!!

Hi, Mieka - it's wonderful to hear from you.

Pat, I love that song. My granddaughter and I were playing a little game of "what's your favorite..." and when she got to songs I said it was My Tribute. Then she says her favorite is O, How I love Jesus.

Ria, I can't believe you did such a good job translating that poem from the Dutch! We are so blessed to have you with us.

And all others who post here. You are jewels in His crown, sparkling for the world to see your deep faith. How wonderful it is to get to know each of you here at CP.

Baby Georgia is very ill. She ran a fever nearly 105 degrees yesterday. The doctor met Pam and Mark at the office today and gave the baby a shot, says both ears are infected, exczema, allergies, sinusitis, teething, and he predicted that tonight the fever would probably rise even higher.

How difficult for these loving parents!

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Karma and Bernard - I certainly wish you a blessed time off tomorrow!

Some thoughts came as I was reading the Scripture.  The Passage was 1 Pet. 2, and the words were, "as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, tht you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious."

As Christians, the proof of our relationship with Christ is our hunger for God's Word and its application to our lives.  The Holy Spirit indwells every believer, so every one of us should be as hungry as a newborn babe.  Every opportunity to read the Word, every opportunity to hear it explained, every opportunity to join in a conversation about the Word - ought to be welcomed with eagerness.

How's your "hunger factor?"

Rachelle

Hi Everyone!

Ohhhhhh, Ruth Ann.... What a trial for these dear parents.  I'm so sorry.  I'll be praying for them in the coming days.

Karma, good to see you and Bernard her today.  I sure wish that your internet connection wa so much better.  I miss you both so much.

Yes, Janet, we have had some giggles over the **** haven't we?

Folks, we have a "banned word list" and one of them is a n a l without the space.  Whenever we put a word in that is on our banned word list, it replaces some of the letters with the stars ****

So, if we had the word a n a l y s i s, it would appear as this analysis since one of our banned words is "a n a l"   We feel that on a Christian site, we shouldn't be using that word to describe how we feel.  So any word with those letters in it will appear with the asterisks **

Shall we sing this old favorite????

The Church In The Wildwood
(Click for Music)

There's a church in the valley by the wildwood
No lovelier spot in the dale
No place is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale

(Oh, come, come, come, come)

Come to the church by the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the vale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale

How sweet on a clear Sabbath morning
To listen to the clear ringing bells
Its tones so sweetly are calling
Oh come to the church in the vale
(Oh, come, come, come, come)

Come to the church by the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the vale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale

There, close by the church in the valley
Lies one that I loved so well
She sleeps, sweetly sleeps, 'neath the willow
Disturb not her rest in the vale
(Oh, come, come, come, come)

Come to the church by the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the vale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale

There, close by the side of that loved one
'Neath the tree where the wild flowers bloom
When farewell hymns shall be chanted
I shall rest by her side in the tomb

(Oh, come, come, come, come)

Come to the church by the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the vale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale

We had great services both this morning and tonight.  This morning flowers were given to the one who had been a mother the longest.  And flowers were given to the newest mother.  The first one had a daughter 67 years old and the second one's baby was just 7 days old.

Al that was a really nice hymn.  I liked the words and the poetry.

Rachelle, a beautiful house.  Who was it who said, "It takes a heap of living to make a house a home." --  So its the living there or wherever that you will have your home.
