Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth. . . then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Josh.  1:8

How rich and rewarding the Word of God was for this man--a soldier, a statesman and a saint.

If we give the Holy Spirit pre-eminence in our thoughts and regulate our talk by the holy Scriptures, then our walk will be in righteousness, too.

To build our lives according to God's pattern is still the way of pleasantness and peace. The life of Joshua was to be guided and governed wholly by the Book of the Law, the first title given to the Bible. It was authoritative, binding and  given to make us courageous for spiritual warfare.

Oh to be stable, steadfast and strong in our lifelong battle.
--Les Rainey

Precious Bible! What a treasure
does the Word of God afford!
All I want for life or pleasure,
food and medicine, shield and sword.

Good morning, friends,

Happy belated birthday to those who celebrated yesterday.

Ria, I love that song, Great Is Thy Faithfulness. When I was church pianist, I often played it during the morning gathering time and sometimes for offertory.

Judy, my dog lept at a bug the other day (all 85 lbs of her), and has wrenched something in my left shoulder-collarbone area. So, I can certainly identify with "throbbing." Yes, I have been praying for you. Did they lighten the cast this time?

Soni, I really like that family photo. What a nice family you have!

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Good morning everyone... I hope you all have a great day.

Soni ~ I really like your family portrait.  Good to see all of you in one picture.

I thinked I did too much yesterday but I still have to mow today.  Hopefully the rains that are predicted won't be heavy and I can get started on my landscaping tomorrow.  It will be a busy week with the yard work and planning and getting everything ready for a week from tonight.  I am not sweating it.  I know when I go to someone else's house, I don't look at the house...I see the people.  I am doing anything special to the house...just sprucing it up and doing things that haven't been done since I moved in 2½ years ago.

Good Morning everyone, Sorry not to address everyone this morning  I am leaving in a few minutes to take Happydog to the Vet Hospital for his surgery. So please remember him today, that I will be able to get him in the car both ways and that his surgery goes well.

edit: he is also having his teeth cleaned his shots, ears looked at and cleaned if necessary and bloodwork. Since this may be the only time in his life that I can get him to the vet, he is having as much done as possible.Even getting his toenails cut.

Must go now

Good morning!  I have had my swim and breakfast; watched the 700 Club, now I will post this and then get busy!  Several things I want to do today.

Abby called a little while ago to ask if I want a glass of lemonade.  She has a lemonade stand this morning at her parents' store. ;D 10c a glass, she said; and wanted me to come right now and be her first customer.  If it didn't mean a 60 mile round trip, I would, too! ;)

I had less pain in my arms and shoulders last night after not taking the statin drug for cholesterol.  I am only on a half a tablet, so that is 5mg.  Still too much.  Folks, don't take it unless it is absolutely necessary.  There are other, safer ways to lower your cholesterol!

I am going to take a defensive driving class today and Thursday.  They give you a discount on your car insurance, and it doesn't hur to be refreshed on stuff, anyway.  Four hours each afternoon, and I need to be there at the Sr. Center anyway, to help decorate for the Mother-Daughter banquet which will be Friday night.

Judy, I do pray you get relief from the pain in your arm.  Prayers and hugs to you, dear one.

Ria, that song is also a favorite of mine.  They play Great is Thy Faithfulness quite often on our Christian Radio station.

Hi, Etta Sue!  You place is going to be a real show place!  But your friends are coming to see YOU and not to inspect your place.  But it does me good to have something like that sometimes; forces me to look at the house with "new eyes" and do stuff I would otherwise put off.  So I know you will enjoy the fruits of your labor for a long time and be glad you got it all done.

Marilyn, sounds like the vet trip will be quite a chore!  Easier to take a tiny dog!  Good luck!

Ruth Ann, sorry about your "attack" by your dog!  Did he get the bug?  Hope you are feeling better now.

Hi Hayley!  You're doing great!  Colors and all! ::) ;D

Hi Everyone!

It's been busy here for me today.  I took Judy McKenna to a doctor's appointment and then we picked up some lunch at Wendy's and took it back to her house and sat and enjoyed tea and lunch together.

Hi Ruth!  Are you back driving now again?  Knee all better?

Nice to see you, Nards, even if it is short and sweet! ;)

Marilyn, any word from Chris and Margit?

Janet, how are you doing?  Those pills can have crazy effects on the body.  Good taking the D.D.C.  I wish I had a $5.er for every course I taught over the years while I was in the bus business, eh Ruth?

You must take it easy, Etta Sue!  We can't be without you on here due to over work!  LOL

HAYLEY!!!   Great job on the colours!

Ruth Ann, what a big thump you must have had from your dog!  Dear me!

I love that hymn, Ria.   I'm going to go and get it and post it here and we can all sing it together.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Will be brief today as have had a busy day.  This was our monthly luncheon at the senior center and our state senator was there to speak to us.  We had a nice lunch and nice time.

Then we went to the church for Calvin Cove and for Pat to do the packets for next Sunday for the children.

We just had a brief rain and it looks like that may be it for today.

Judy, sure sorry to read that your arm is causing you so much pain at night.

I have read all the postings today.  Welcome to ray88ss.

I got the results of the test I had done a couple of weeks ago and all is fine.  Won't need to repeat this test for 5 years.  I have one more test result to get from my physical.  My blood work showed an elevated PSA count so took an antibiotic for one month and the blood test yesterday is to see if it brought the count down where it should be.  Not too worried as had this same thing occur at my last physical and their was just a little infection.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Pat

Thinking about you, Larry.  I sure remember you going through that year of treatment and it all turned out well.  Lots of prayers went up at that time for you brother.

Papa John

Well I have read the posts for today and it is good to see each one of you.

I am glad to report that my back seems to be improved some.  So I have my fingers crossed.  I have been getting up some in the middle of the night because of pain.  Last night I got up for a few hours and slept in the recliner.  Then I went back to bed and slept on my side and when I woke up I didn't have that pain this time.

Marilyn the 2029 headlines was hilarious.  I copied it and put it in my amusing things folder.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness is one of my favorite songs.  We sing it often where we worship.

Ria, I hope you are having a good night's sleep.

June, I'm glad to see you here.  I think I have figured out just who you are.

I Jn 4:8-14
8   Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9   This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10   This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

11   Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12   No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13   We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
14   And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.  (NIV)

ANDERSON, SC (Talon News) -- Although she will not be allowed back in the same classroom, the South Carolina teacher's aide who had been placed on paid leave for affirming a student's question about Jesus was allowed to return to work on Monday.

As reported by Talon News on Friday, Jean Byce, a teaching assistant at La France Elementary in Anderson County District 4, was reprimanded for answering a child's question about the message of a Christian tune that was sung in the classroom.

Hello folks!  Another busy day for me.

Larry, glad you were able to get rid of the infection.  You are just a busy guy, going here and there.  Sounds like you have a fun life.

Papa John, thanks for the extra scripture!

Pat, sounds like you and Judy Mc. had a fun time.  What is your favorite thing to order at Wendy's?  I like there salads and the spicy chicken sandwich.

I'll be back later

Pat No word from Chris and Margit yet. Maybe this week or the end of the week. They have Al's and my phone numbers and my cell number.

Happydog did well at the vet today. I have called to check up on him, he will be there over noght. The aid that I spoke to  said that he is "such a beautiful dog and so loving" to quote her. They cleaned his teeth, gave him his shots, his bloodwork and heartworm test was normal. His ears had a lot of bacteria in them so they cleaned them real good. Said they would give me some ear wash for them and some ointment along with anitbiotics. They can forget the ear wash he will never let me do that.

Bebe seems to be doing well without him here, but she keeps going outside and looking around and in the bedroom too. She misses him, so do I.

June -- I didn't see your note to me (in your May 10 post) until today (May 11.) The reason we're taking to the road in a fifth-wheel is.... we want to! My husband has just retired after 30 years with the Maryland Forest Service and this has been our plan for our retirement for probably the last 3 years. Hard to believe it's actually happening.

Ellie

I'm thinking of, not a hymn, but a song by rock singer Alanis Morrisette a few years back, about situations taking the wrong turn (e.g. an offer for a free ride when you've already paid.)

A few years ago I was in need of a counselor and found a lovely Christian lady slightly younger than myself who was a pastoral counselor. We had a wonderful relationship for a few months and then she had to relocate to another state. I was really sorry about this as she was doing me a great deal and I had the feeling she was benefiting from the relationship as well. Well, a couple years later I heard she was back but apparently not practicing, she was teaching at the community college. Yesterday while emptying our our house I found a book she had loaned me, looked her up in the phone book and called. Today she came to see our trailer and get her book, and sat and had tea and we had a wonderful visit. I feel warm and fuzzy about that but sad as well... being just two women having tea was different from the therapy situation. We just talked about our lives. How ironic -- when I needed her for conseling, she moved away. Now we could have been friends, and this time I'm the one moving. I feel like I'm losing something precious ... a friendship that was conceived but then was lost before it could be born. I feel the way I felt when I had a miscarriage.

I guess when we come right down to it, there's no one who is always there for us but the Lord.

Ruth Ann Bice

Well, the doctor's assistant has decided I'm not in immediate danger of death, so appointment about my shoulder is set for Thursday afternoon. ::)

At any rate, it's good to get to read. Won't try to type too much today.

Y'all have a good evening.
