Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out.
Genesis 24:15

Sometimes the Lord is answering our prayer as we speak it.

Sometimes the Lord is planning a change for our life as we go faithfully about our everyday responsibilities.

Sometimes the Lord is using our smallest kindness to a stranger as an answer to their prayer and need.

Pray; He will answer.

Be faithful; He is faithful.

Whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord. He wants to make you a blessing to someone today.

Some day as you go about your tasks, as any other day, He'll come to take us all away forever to be with Him--His pure and spotless bride.
-- R. M. B.

The life that counts must aim to rise
above the earth to sunlit skies;
Must fix its gaze on Paradise--
that is the life that counts.

Good evening and morning to all!

Lila Mae
busted the inside of her mouth open tonight, so we spent the greater part of the evening in the emergency room. Not fun at all.  She is ok...they don't put stitches in the mouth anymore because it doesn't heal as well so they just put her on an antibiotic to make sure she doesn't get an infection and she gets to see the dentist for the first time on Monday.  We'll see how that experience goes.  ::)

I got a new lens today.  Canon 80-200mm 4.5-5.6.  It is awesome.  I put a few photos in the May "flower" challenge if you want to see.  ;D

Janet, Is that a required class or is in volunteer?  I have a hard time with really boring teachers.  I had a few of them growing up and boy it is hard to stay awake. Glad you made it through the class without a snore.  ;) :D
Have fun in Hugton, Hugerton, Hungerbun.. :-\ .well have a fun day with hubby!

Marilyn
, those are awesome.  You did a great job!  You should be very proud.  I did get your email and plan to write you back tomorrow.

I better get to bed.  Hope you all have a fine day.

QuoteI guess when we come right down to it, there's no one who is always there for us but the Lord.
Ellie I really do know what you're saying, and I agree.  It seems, in life, there are so many "missed opportunities" and terminated relationships, but God is always there...My mother used to tell me this a lot (that His is the only friendship we should desire).  Lots of times, as I was growing up, I would disagree with her philosophy, but I have come to know that He is truly the Friend that sticketh closer than a brother and is always there for me when everyone else (seems to) forsake me.

God bless y'all ... all the time!  I have had some very trying moments lately and there are still more to come before it will be all over and I can (hopefully) return to a life more closely resembling normal!   :-\

Please keep me in your prayers as I allow My Father to make everything beautiful in His time!

Jane
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Rachelle

Lily Mae-I am sorry to hear about your mouth-I pray that you will start feeling better.
Judy Mc-I know how painful a broken arm must hurt -I broke my arm right near my elbow joint one time helping my daughter deliver girl scout cookies-don't laugh-I tripped over a cement walk that was unlevel..it is painful. I am praying for you too.
Marilynn-great job on your lessons-I haven't worked on any for awhile-need to get back to them.
Hugs to all the rest of you-
We found out today that our House could be on the Market for around 115,000-119,000 which was a surprise but, it would be put up as a fixer upper..The gal is suppose to call tomorrow with a final analysis. More then likely we will stay put and just fix it little by little ourselves-and possibly sell it in another 3 years.
Lots of work to be done.
Anyway-Got to go nighty night..Hugs
Rachelle

Oh, my goodness, Soni!   That's terrible about our poor Lila Mae's mouth.  Hoe did she manage to do that?  I'm so sorry.    Congratulations on the new lense!

Hi Jane...   Sorry you're going through a rough spot right now.  They aren't pleasant.

Rachelle, sounds as if you're getting closer to getting that nice new home.  Hopefully, you'll get yours sold and be able to accomplish this.

What a lovely poem, Ria!  How true that is!

I'm sorry about your husband having to wait till September.  These waits aren't easy.

Say Happy Birthday to Marcel from all of us here on CP!

I agree - what a beautiful poem. And, just in time to cause me to reflect on His goodness and love.

When we're troubled and dealing with difficult times, small things like I saw a triple - yes, TRIPLE - rainbow last Thursday evening after a hard rainstorm and a very difficult day at work.

It was like I was being told that God knows our every need, He knows our problems and trials, AND He also knows the sweet peaceful reminders that will draw our attention back to Him.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Al Moak

Well - today is going to be a very big day!  We're to go up to Marilyn's house a little before 11, pick her up there, then drive up to Trinidad (about 10 more miles) to a little restaurant down at the harbor, and have lunch with Chris & Margit!  Chris called at about 9PM last evening to set it up.  They were already in Trinidad at a motel.  If I have my conversions down ok, that's about 7.5 kilometers from where we live (1.6 km = 1 mile?).

Papa John

Marilyn, you did very good with your lessons.  Thanks for sharing.

Sonja, so sorry about Lila Mae's accident.  Take good care of her as if you needed to be told that.

Ria, thanks for the little poem, QUIET AND UNEXPECTED WAYS.  Elijah found out that this is true:

"Then He said, 'Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.' And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake;  and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice".
I Kings 19:11-12  (NKJ)

Al, how nice you and Marilyn will get to visit with Chris and Margit.  Enjoy your time with them and give them our best regards.

Thanks folks.  Lila Mae slept well, well she is still sleeping.  I sure hope her mouth heels soon.  It will probably hurt to eat.  She was on a floor rocking chair and rolled back and hit the front of her face on the bed rail.

Papa John, you always type in the right words.  I have never read the scripture.  Great stuff, thanks!

It is supposed to be cold here for a few days and even snow.  I am a bit bummed because we just planted those new trees. :-(

Marilyn and Al, I sure hope you have a good time with Chris and Margit.

Ria
, wonderful poem again.  (hug)

I have a few things I need to get done.  talk with you all later.

Is that low for you area?  Our houses are running pretty high here.  You can't find a nice house here unless we pay 185,000-250,000.
That might be a good idea to fix it up yourself and wait a few years.  Good thinking.  We have done that with ours.  Good luck. :-)

Marilyn

Good Morning, I cme in and read a little while ago, then went to read my email and watch the news.

Yes it will be a big day for us here, to meet with Chris and Margit. Isn't it wonderful to meet brothers and sisters in the Lord from all over the world?  I have to call Fay and tell her I won't be over until about 1 pm. I was going to go earlier so I could pick up Happydog earlier.

She already knows that I have been expecting Chris and Margit to call anytime and she said it was ok with er for me totake the time togo meet them.

Ria I don't think I have ever told you how much I enjoy thelittle poems you pest each day. Thank you so much.

Sonja, I am praying for Lila Mae's mouth to heal quickly also looking forward to your email.

Rachelle>: that is a very low price here where I live in Northern California. Gilbert and Sarah are going to be paying $900. a month rent on a 3 bedroom and that is cheap. I am very fortunate to be paying the amount of rent that I pay for this little 2 bedroom single wide trailer that is in bad shape and needs a lot of repair. I have holes in the ceiling from where it used to leak. Sometimes I wish I lived in a place where it didn't cost so much to live.

I ahve heard that the prices are going up in the desert where I moved away from. Growth everywhere!!!!!

Thank you for the comments on my psp lessons, I will begin week 2 as soon as I can.

What fun, for you four to meet!  Chris, Margit, Al and Marilyn...I wish we could all join you!  But we will meet some day.  I had the nicest chat with Mieka the other morning.  What a joy that girl is!

We enjoyed our little visit with the kids last night.  I helped Diane cook supper and we ate with them.  Mark was at school working late on his wood shop project (pool table) and just got home as we were leaving, but I got a couple big hugs from him anyway!  He is one busy boy, with school, work, Scouts and his wood projects.  He is going to be giving a talk to a bunch of little kids this week. ;D  I'd like to hear that!  ;)  Also, the ladies Golf association have asked him to build some trash can covers for them like the ones he built for main street for his Eagle project.  He is happy about that.  I think he is going camping/river rafting soon with the Scouts.

I must go help decorate the Senior Center today for the Mother -Daughter banquet Friday night.  Also, tomorrow is Diane's birthday, so I better think about what I'm going to do for her!

I am so sickened at our national news media's coverage of the Iraq prison mess.  They are causing the militant muslims to turn on Americans even more.  Why can't they just drop it, stop talking about it and showing those photos??  What about the four Americans murdered, mutilated and hung?  What about the atrocities done to little Jessica Lynch?  And now the brutal beheading of yet another American???  Nothing done to those prisoners compares to those awful things.  Okay, Janet is stepping down off her soapbox........for now. :-X

I must get ready to go work on the decorating.  Wish I could figure out my posting problems so I could share some photos. :'(

Talk to you folks later!

Hello all!

I found out today that I "get" a six week vacation from my job on Mondays and Wednesdays..  Apparently , there are some budget shortfalls (in education, can you imagine that?????) and some hours are being cut.  I'm not too upset, though, this gives me the extra time I have been wanting to see exactly what I can do with Mary Kay.  Now, I have a few extra hours a week, until July, to see what I can do!

I figure God has a reason for it.  All things will work out for His good.

Nards seems to have gotten the 'puter running a little better.  Graphics and pictures are still slower than Christmas, but some things are faster.  Maybe I can start posting more from home, now.

Take care all ya'll.  I've got some work to wrap up.

Hi everyone.  We have had another busy day, at least for us.  After walking at the "Y" and coffee Pat and I went to the Kaiser health office where we go as they were having skin cancer screenings today.  We got there and there was a very large crowd.  We didn't stay as had made plan to meet our former neighbors for lunch.

We ate at Ted Turner's Buffalo Grill, which specializes in bison.  We had a highly overpriced and not very good lunch at all.  I had basically a hamburger with some onions and cheese on it and it was $7.50 with nothing being served with it.  Pat had bison and found it dry and said the French fries were the worst she has had in ages.  Needless to say we won't be returning there.

We then went to our friends home and played Bridge for about 90 minutes.  This couple is elderly and are in the process of closing out their home here and will be moving to Ohio, into a retirement community, but it will still be sometime before that happens as they haven't started to built their unit yet.

We then came home and I took a nap as was tired and knew I had to go to choir practice this evening.  Not a very exciting day but a busy one.

Janet, it sounds like you had the same instructor we had for the 55 Alive course.  Boring was the word and those hours really dragged.  Doubt if I can get my wife to agree to sit through that course again even it if saves a few dollars on the car insurance.  By the way, I agree with your soapbox comments.  We should be building up our country and supporting our soldiers rather than this constant drumbeat about how bad America is.  Some bad apples have done some bad thngs but we are not beheading our prisioners.  I see red sometimes with some of our politicians and the news media that always slant the facts.

Marilyn and Al, it is great that you have been able to have lunch with Chris and Margret during their trip to the USA.  Look forward to the pictures and details.

Sonja, sure sorry to hear of the accident involving Lila Mae.  Fortunately it seems that little ones heal pretty quickly but sure it will be sore for a bit.  Know you all must have been scared.  I will check out your new photos with that new lens.

Karmat, it sounds like you will be busy with your Mary Kay work and the six weeks will go quickly.

Rachelle, I know you all are probably a bit disappointed at the value placed on your home.  Home prices seem to be rising so quickly.  Sure things will work out as they are intended.  I am not seeing any new neighborhoods being started in our area, and there are lots of developments underway, that start for less than $130,000 and many are in the $200,000 to $400,000 range.

Ruth Ann, sorry to hear you have some new aches.  Going to have to wrap you up in cotton along with Judy Mc.   :-[

Ria, there is a really fine radio station available over the Internet that plays constant Christian music without any talk or commercials.  Hope your son has a nice birthday celebration on the 15th.  Our granddaughter turns 22 tomorrow.  I got mixed up and called her yesterday to wish her happy birthday.  Guess better early than late.

Jane, sorry to hear that you are having more trying moments and do hope and pray that brighter times will soon surround you.  It seems to you have fine attitude and know firmly the source of your strength.

Guess I had better stop writing on "this book" and do some other things.

Janet

Thanks, Larry.  I hoped someone would agree with me!

I am really sleepy, maybe I will try to take a short nap.  We got started with the decorating, will work on it more tomorrow.

Soni, I know that was a scary event, but I'm sure Lila Mae will heal quickly.  I remember some of those incidents from when my kids were small.

See you good folks later!

Judy ~ Sorry about your broken arm.  Really, you shouldn't hit Norm so hard.   ;D ;D ;D

Marilyn ~ Your PSP lessons are terrific.  I recognized some of them but I think they have some new ones also.  They are tough...I about went crazy and then all of a sudden....whammo!...it clicked in.  I am so glad you and Al are meeting Chris and Margit.  It is wonderful to meet our cyberfriends.

Lila Mae ~ I sure am praying that your boo boo gets better.  I hope it doesn't hurt too much when you eat today.

Janet ~ Lots of negative news.  I still say that the media should HAVE to have two good news' for one bad news!  I bet more people would watch the news then.   ???

Well, I am late getting in here.  I am sore, tired, pooped, wore out but clean!  I took out the trash and then the sod cutter man came.  He said he had two pallets of sod to cut and then he would go get the sod cutter and come back.  In the mean time, I decided to use my weed eater....I can turn the head so that it edges...and cut the outline.  Truly the sod cutter man wasn't here a half hour and only 10-15 minutes of that was cutting sod.  The hardest part was rolling the sod and then putting it in low places in my yard.  Sod is certainly easier to work with when it is wet.  It dries out fast and then it breaks up.  And it is heavy!!!!  Jerry came early today and he was a big help.  We even took some old tiles back to the woods.  But I have a nice edge now for Julie and Dennis to put down the landscaping cloth and the edgers.  I don't have a lot of river rock yet but perhaps the rest of it will be done when Tony brings it and we can shovel it off the trailer to the area we need the rocks.  Sounds easier than shoveling it twice.

When I came in the house, I thought I had been on Extreme Makeover.  I didn't recognize myself.  After my shower, the old me showed up!!!!

Needless to say, the house is being put on hold now.  But if I had company today, I wouldn't be ashamed for them to come into my house.   ::) ::)

The meeting was wonderful I have a couple of photos to get out of my camera and Chris took a couple also. We had lunch at the Sea Scape reaturant, very good food three of us had cheescake for desert and one had a bowl of strawberries. (See Al I'm not telling on you)

Chris and Margit are a lovely couple, lots of fun to be with, His Scottish accent is slight and so is Margits German accent.Jenny had told me that Chris was a "dour Scotsman" Not dour at all. Lots of good humour.

We had some great fellowship but had to cut it short, they wanted to get on their way going south and I had to get to work.
