JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Genesis 1:31

God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.
Genesis 6:5

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Genesis 6:8

These are the first two times the word "saw" is used in relation to God.

In the first instance God saw that all of His work was very good.

In the second, He saw that all of man's works were wicked.

It seems so much like that in our lives, too. What He does is so good and what we do falls so far short. But He doesn't give up on us.

The Lord sought out Noah. He rested His eyes upon him and Noah found grace in that gaze.

Look to Him today and you will find grace in His eyes as well.
--S. McEachern

Grace taught my wandering feet to tread
the heavenly road;
And new supplies each hour I meet,
while pressing on to God.

Blessings all; just completed 2nd week in secular employment.  Honeymoon period is always great ;D in a new job.  I have been asked to continue to preach in the Church but the demands on my time by church folk seem to remain constant so I may have to stop my involvement.

Looking to purchase a new home.  Prices are ridiculous though; £200 000+ for a 3 bed terrace!!! Could buy a mansion for that money in some parts of the world.

Hope everyone is well and snapping pretty pics.

Hi Everyone-
I just finished our daughters birthday page and wanted to share it with all of you.
Our plans for the weekend will be staying home as we will be having rainstorms throughout the weekend. We had a severe storm tonight with Tornado warnings which we get seldom.
Have a good night.

Hi everyone.  I got up very early this morning, 5 am, after having been awoken about 3 times before that by our cat, Mr. Tiggers, who hid himself under our bed last night and didn't want to come out but kept making noises that prevented me from sleeping.  I am getting a lot done early this monring and it was a great time to do my morning devotionals.

Rachelle, enjoyed the pictures of the birthday party.  I tlooks like Whitney had a fun day.

Sorry to read of the storms hitting various parts of the country.  We had a very hot day yesterday and another on the way today with only a chance of scattered showers.  It is getting pretty dry down here.

Gareth, glad to see you post and to know that your new job is going well.  It seems that the price of homes keeps going up and up, at least that is what is happening where we live.  Our county now has over 700,000 people and is expected to be over 1 million in about 15 years.

Pat, another wonderful devotional message this morning.  All of God's work is very good and it is we humans who mess it up.

Shawnee, glad that MRI is over for you and that it went so well this time.  Sorry to read about the broken arm.  I always knew Wal-Mart was dangerous!!  Hope the pain lessens soon for him.

Jeanne, I fear that the support of our troops is dwindling by the day here in the USA.  It is sad that more of your folks couldn't invest a few minutes of their lives in support of the troops who are over there putting their lives on the line fo protect us.  I doubt that our church would have had a much better response.

Papa John, that hot weather really saps the energy, doesn't it.  I am very thankful to have a nice cool home and car where I can stay out of the heat most of the time.

Sonja, sure hope your day improved yesterday and today will be much more positive for you.

Eddie, that sounds like a wonderful cruise you had to Alaska.  Thanks for sharing the information.  I believe that Charles Stanley has a very large contemporary church here in the Atlanta area.

Marilyn, how did the gymnastics event go yesterday?  I am sure grandmother was as "proud as punch".

Today is the closing ceremonies for the Golden Senior Olympics in our county.  They are having a final lunch and my wife and I have been invited to attend.  I have been doing the webpage for them for the last couple of years.  They had around 250 seniors from the age of 50 through 89 participate and they give out very impressive medals.  Some of the competition is very competitive and the winner can go on to the state Senior Olympics and even to the national events.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Papa John

We have happy news this morning.  Elsie, our brand new great-granddaughter was born last night.  We haven't seen her yet but will go this morning.  The report we have is that everything is going fine.  I have prayed so much for the new baby and mother.  You can pray too.

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm just about to leave for our Birthday Breakfast in the Park for our granddaughter, Rebecca.  It's amazing how time flies.  She's now 7 years old.

I'll be back later on today.

Rachelle, that's a little close for comfort having those back storm so close.  I'm so happy that you are fine though.  Great birthday page!

Gareth, you have no idea the joy you brought when I saw your name pop up.  It was so nice to see you posting.  I'll be praying for you as you make these difficult decisions in the coming days.  My goodness that's a terrible price for a house!

Larry, when Jack was on a cours in Atlanta many years ago, he attended Charles Stanley's church and enjoyed it immensely.  You sure were up early today!  Larry is Joan Scales competing in this years Sr. Olympics?  Can you give us the URL for the web page?

Everyone have a great day.  I'm leaving in a few minutes.

I thought we'd be gone this weekend, but it has been put off until next week instead.

We accomplished several things yesterday. It was nice to have 1/2 day off from work.

And, my favorite sewing program was back on public tv this morning!

So, all in all, I'm a very thankful person - for God's love and my salvation, for family and friends, and for CP.

Y'all have a good day.

Matthew 5 : 16
In the same way, let your light shine
before men, that they may see your
good deeds and praise your Fahter
in Heaven.

As Christians, we are not called to
isolate ourselves from culture.
We are not called to be hermits or monks.
Instead, we are to recognize that we
are in a world of darkness and live as
light--not as litle candles tucked away
in some inner bedroom, but as candles
set on their stands so all can see their
light or cities on a hill that can't be hidden.
Of course, our goal is not to call atention to
ourselves, but to help others see the glorious
grace of our Fahter.

Dear Heavenly Fahter,
may my life bless others today,
and every day, so they can see
You and Your love more clearly.
In Jesus name i pray  AMEN

I wish you all a Blessed Sunday

Good morning from soggy Coos Bay.

My goodness, Rachelle, I would never have thought of tornados in Washington.  Keep safe.  Weather gets stranger and stranger.  Didn't God say something about this?  What a comfort to know that we, along with the weather, are in His Hands. :)

Papa John, congratulations!  I love to look into a new borns eyes.  What they cannot see in the natural, I just know they are still seeing with their spirit.   If you stare into their eyes, you can see the wonder of God's Glory.  Then as they are more at home here than there, it begans to fade.  This is just my own way of seeing, but I believe it.  Does anyone else?  Anyway....new life is so precious....and when from your own, even more so.  Blessings on your new little one.

I read yesterdays posts, but forgot who was talking about the CPAP machine...other than Ruth Ann (I knew you used one, Ruth Ann)...but I have one now.  The first night was either a disaster or really funny.  I have a cat (maybe like Larry's?) who is very demanding of me.  She first sat in my open window(screened)meowing to get out.  Here I lay with the mask on, trying to get used to it, and finally got up to put her out of my room.  Then she sat at the door crying and scratching!  And I was supposed to be "settling in"?   haha  I took it off and gave up.  Last night was better.  My grandaughter stayed and she was company to the cats.
Ruth Ann....the therapist told me I won't snore anymore.  You still do?  I don't have apnea, just low oxygen levels at night.

Hi Shawnee.  I can't think of any questions for Andre Crouch, but I sure like his singing.  I would like to hear about your interview.  How is he doing?   Is his faith strong still?   I haven't heard much about him lately.  I used to have some of his tapes.

I won't try to respond to every post, but it was so nice reading all.  I started feeling guilty because I don't get here often, but expect y'all to...so I can read when I do get back. haha
Does that stink, or what?? :)

Janet, I sure do feel for you and your insomnia problems.  My mom used to deal with that always.  I do somewhat, but not like yours.  I'm praying for you cuz I can feel the tiredness even as I read your post.  You have so much energy, but after awhile, the body needs to take some sustained time out.   This isn't a light matter, as you know. :-\

Now off to look at pictures.  I want to see where people live.     :)    Nita

Marilyn

Well, well Hello Nita, so nice to see you here this morning posting. I havemissed you and have been negligent in emailing you to see if you were alright. Forgive me please?

I have had my Saturday morning chat with Jenny on aol, been here to read before that, showered and washed my hair, had a couple of calls from Gilbert reminding me tha savannah's gymnastic meet is tonight.

I took a lot of photos at the program last night but some were way too dark to do anything with, I am going to try to brighten them up to post.

Thank you Ria and Pat for the devotions. I llok forward to them every day.

My car is fine now thanks to God who fixed it for me. Just need to have the oil changed and shocked replaced, brakes checked and I will be all set for a long time. Of course, allthat won't get done at once, but it will get done.

Back from the Golden Olympics closing ceremonies at the senior center.  We had a very nice box lunch and they finished handling out the medals to the winners in several of the events.  Pat, you asked for a link so here it is:  http://gwinnettseniorolympics.org/index.html

Pat, you asked about Joan Scales participating in this years games.  I do not believe she was registered.  She actually lives in a neighboring county, although know she has participated in the past.  It has been some time since I have seen her posting anywhere.

Papa John and Cornelia, congratulations on your new great granddaughter.  I sure hope you get to see a lot of her and all your grandchildren.  We have two great grandchildren and have only seen the one when he was 3 months old.  We hope to see them in about a month as we are planning on being in Kansas City at that time.

Nita, my wife used a CPAP machine for several years but had to stop as the air was really bothering her eyes as they were becoming very dry.  I am sure she should still be using it but has found the nasal strips work well to help her breathe at night so uses those instead.

Papa John

We visited the hospital to see our new granddaughter, Elsie, for the first time.  Naturally I took some pictures and have posted some in "Photographs here."

Oh, I forgot to take notes.......

Congratulations on the new baby, Papa John and Cornelia.  I like the name of Elsie.  Will go see her in a sec.

Whitney sure looked like she enjoyed her 8th birthday party.  Lots of friends and fun.

The Alaskan Cruise with Charles Stanley sounds wonderful.  I would feel like I was in heaven.

Good to see Gareth post today.  Don't spread yourself too thin.

Cars can be aggrivating, Marilyn.  Glad you know what yours needs for it to continue running.  How was the kids program and the gymnastic meet?

I know what you mean about cats in the bedroom and waking you up.  I have bedside tables and if either cat gets on them, I wake up instantly.  But then, I don't remember the last time I went to bed and slept all night without waking up 2, 3 or several more times.

Hi Nita!  I miss you when you aren't posting.  But I know how busy I am and I sometimes wish I wouldn't turn on the pc.  But habits are hard to change.

Where were you going, Ruth Ann, that you decided not to go?  I think I am taking Jerry and we are going to Sikeston, Missouri, next week.  Just over night.

I remember when I had to sleep in the same room with my mother and her breathing/snoring kept me awake.  I went to the store and got those sponge earplugs.  I got the highest decibel count.  I could hear some but I didn't hear the breathing/snoring.  I told Mom if she needed me, she probably would have to get up and shake me.  I slept so good with those plugs in my ears.  You might try that.

Hi Carol~  Glad to see your post today, too.

I can't believe Rebecca is 7.  I just know you had a great time in celebrating with her, Pat.

I am pooped again.  I started mowing the grass early this morning.  I only had a few seconds more to mow and Tony came with a load of rocks.  I put the mower up and grabbed my little shovel.  I don't shovel as much as Tony but I do help.  He left and then I did some weed eating.  I then sprayed where I saw some mole runs while mowing.  I sprayed the rocks to get the dust off of them.  It is amazing how much prettier they are clean.  Then I put out a Frog Symphony in the rocks.  We will probably need 3 more loads of rocks.  I sure hope my back holds out!!!

But now I am all clean after a shower...smell much better, too!!!

Hello folks, just stopping in to read the happenings.

Congrats, Papa John!  Another Great Grandbaby!  You are so blessed!

We had quite an evening last night.  Lila Mae pulled her elbow out of socket, so we spent most the evening in the emergency room.  That kids is so rough on herself.

I am busy outside with the lawn and garden.  Be back later.

Janet

Ouchie, Lila Mae!  How on earth did you pull your elbow out of the socket?  That sounds very painful, hope it is all better by now.

CONGRATULATIONS to Papa John and Corneliaon the birth of lovely little great granddaughter ELSIE!   Babies are so wonderful, and I love them so much.

We had a good visit with family this morning over breakfast, then after they went on their way, we got ready and went to Hugoton to Toni's reception.  While there, I picked up 6 more framing jobs to do, so it was a good deal for me.  Curtis got home late last night, sure was good to see and hug him again.

Mark has his pool table home in their basement now that he built in his woodshop class in school.  He was ready to put the felt on it, so Darrel and I helped him with that.  He needed a couple extra pairs of hands to get it stretched tight.  It is a very handsome table!

I missed a few hours' sleep last night and am feeling it now, so I am going to see if I can take a little nap before time to go to another graduation reception.

Thanks for your kind words, Nita.  I appreciate your thinking of me.

Talk to you later!

Papa John - it takes a GREAT grandpa to be a great grandpa!  And besides, if "children are an heritage of the Lord" (Ps. 127:3), then they must be a great, grand heritage for you.  May our Father enlarge His kindom with Elsie!

Hayley

Congratulations on the new baby, Papa John..

Cory (15 yr old) has a choir concert tonight.. I'm just about to leave...

Just wanted to thank you all for your prayers.. Emma is improving, she's still a little weezy but she's not on treatments every 4 hrs now.. just morning and night :)
When I think upon my God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes dance and leap from my pen- Franz Josef Haydn.

Al Moak

That's wonderful to hear, Hayley!  May our Father give the doctors great wisdom and special insight for her case.

I had the compression wrap taken off my left leg yesterday, and it was nice to not have it on overnight last night.  However, now I've got another problem.  The gal at the wound care center wanted me to get compression stockings with fairly heavy compression to wear during the days.  So I got them.  But I absolutely cannot get them on.  So I'm going to have to call the gal back monday to find out what to do.  They cost over $20 per pair and only last three months or so.  I don't have a budget that likes that very well.  And then, on top of all that, I tore a small hole in one of them trying to put it on.  And they can't be returned once they've been worn!  So today I just have my short ankle sox on - with no compression.

Sue

Hi Everyone

I worked for a few hours this morning, then stopped and had my brakes checked as they were making noises they shouldn't have been.  I have to go across the city tomorrow and didn't want to have the brakes fail on me.  It turns out they were fine, so I was only charged $25 for the inspection.

I then got my flowers planted, and when I was almost finished, it started to rain.  Saves me from watering them!

Have a good night everyone!

Pat

I'm home!  We had a great day at Rebecca's 7th Birthday Breakfast in the Park but now I have to shut down as we have a Tornado Warning for Guelph and surrounding areas.  We're having very severe weather and I might not get back before tomorrow.

Just wanted to let you know.

A dark day today.  Just a little rain this morning, but the clouds never thinned and the temperature never got up to 60.

Tomorrow is the surprise celebration for our pastor's 30th anniversary of his ordination.  So far as we know, he still has no idea.  Should be a fun time.   ;D

Hi all!! We are on here for the first time today.  We woke up with no phone line this morning.  That was weird. (we are on dial-up so no phone also means no internet).

Bernard and his dad split wood today.  Travis played outside all day.  I watched him.  Then, we had this horrific thunderstorm tonight.  Lots of rain, thunder and lightning, and wind.  One really neat advantage about the Smokies is that tornadoes are a rarity.  (I hate  storms)

Take care.  Nards may be wanting on here, so I had better go.

Congrats Papa John!!!

Janet

Yesterday felt like Saturday, today felt like Sunday, so I wonder what tomorrow will be??

We really enjoyed the reception we attended this evening.  Nice to visit with friends we do not see very often.

I just posted some new photos in Photos Here, hope you take a look and enjoy them.
