JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I besought the Lord thrice. . . And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee.
2 Corinthians 12:8-9

This is the best answer to prayer--the grace of God is His divine favor poured out on us and in us.

The great apostle asked for the removal of infirmity and distress but the Lord's answer was "no," and He gave him something better.

Paul was not discouraged or depressed because he didn't get what he asked for.

Note his words in verse 10, "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities...for when I am weak, then am I strong."

Dear believer, God's grace is sufficient for you, too.

Take comfort and encouragement in His grace today!

I love this passage.  When I was in college, I had a Sunday School teacher tell me that many people believe God answers prayer in one of three ways (Yes, No, Wait/Maybe), but really there is just one -- MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT.  How awesome is that.

I did not get done today what I wanted, but I am still working on it, and I am not asleep yet, so there is hope to be had!!

Rachelle, I like the system you have worked out and I hope it goes well for you.  One of the greatest benefits of homeschooling, I believe, is that you do not have to be on a grade level.  Many of the students I work with have to stop and think when you ask what grade they are in. :-)  Hang in there.

I read one account where a couple had 6 or so children.  Each one had a different combo of public/private/homeshool so they were really able to give each student what they needed.  Unfortunately, our schools around here are reluctant (downright refusing) to accomodate such alternatives.

I hope everyone else has an awesome day.  (night, morning, as the case may be. )

I think my print job is about finished, so I can go to bed!!!

Hi Pat and Everyone!
Im praying for all of you that are having bad weather-Pat try and get some rest..
Shawnee let me know how things are..I hope you don't have any of those tornados.
Karmat-Thank You! Yes, today went very well!!! I love not worrying about the grade level thing either-unfortunetly the kids in the neighborhood tease my kids etc. What a nite-we were going to go for a walk on the board walk here in Post Falls, well my daughter went out to ride her bike and she wrecked, right in front of the neighbors house-they sat there and laughed at her! I tell ya it is so frustrating sometimes!!! the other neighbor (Mom) came out and helped her..I got there and her elbow was all bloody and her right side..She kept saying her foot was hurting and so by the time my husband checked it, we noticed she had a cut on her leg too-poor thing..we didn't go for our walk...
You know that my daughter asked for blessings on our neighbors? May the Lord bless her heart for that ..they called her names today..When someone shows mercy as our neighbor gal did, then mercy will be shown to them but, when we don't and do as the other kids did-we reap what we sow..So, when she asked the blessing on our dinner she prayed blessings on them.
Thats what God commands us to do-to bless others-
It makes me feel good that I am doing a good job!!!
Homeschooling Yes is a tough Job at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way-I know there are lots of families that do it~I know this is what God has asked us to do. I do feel that as a family we have grown. The best thing about Homeschooling I like is being able to go on trips  anytime we want :)

JOHN 5 : 25 NIV
I tell you the truth, a time is
coming and has now come
when the dead will hear the voice
of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

Aren't you glad that not even death
can stop us from hearing Jesus
promised words to us: "RISE!"?
We will hear His voice and live with Him
forever. That sure puts a lift in my
future plans; what about you?

Thank You, Almighty God,
that Jesus resurrection demonstrated
Your Power to destroy death.
I have confidence in Your Son's promises to
return, to raise me from the dead if i die
before His return, and to take me Home
to be with You.
In the Saviour's Name.   AMEN

Bye love Ria

Rachelle:  How is your daughter today? Gosh., I can't believe it...what kind of neighbours are they, that would laugh at a child falling and hurting herself!  Were they children who did the laughing?...surely not adults!

Imagine...your dear little girl., praying for them.  It shows what a fine example you and your husband have set in your home!

Karmat., you were up awfully late posting.  I'm glad you got everything done.  Hope you were able to get to sleep ok.

Well., the weather dosen't look too promising here today, so far.  Looks like more rain!

Oh., the poor farmers!   We need the warm sun!

I trust all is well wherever you are!

:)Thanks, Pat, for the devotional and a thank-you to Ria for your mini-devotional.   :)

I am definitely sending Ria some warm/hot weather as it has been in the 90's here and will continue to be for the next week.  Now if you others will just send us some rain.  WHEW..I have been sweating a lot in the evenings when I do yard work.   :P

Ruthie, didn't you study the MasterLife series?  I thought I remembered that somewhere you said you were doing it.  I am having to really study hard to memorize the verses and apply them daily. We are in our first book and the 5th week.  I do ask for prayer for me to be a better witness during this growing period.

Rachalle, your daughter shows Jesus' love so much better than I could over this.  I commend you and your husband for bringing her up in a Christian home. Give her a big hug for me and tell her I am thanking God for her witness.

Judy, I hope the rain is through in your area..our farmers are irrigating now.

Off to study...much to do.          kathy

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning friends,

Pat, I suppose y'all have sent the storms our way. They're supposed to come in (from the north!) this evening and tomorrow.

I truly hope all are safe.

The scan on my neck is being done today, but of course, won't hear for a few days.

In the interim, I'm just trying to hold my head as steady as possible while lying down.

I've been praying for many of the individuals mentioned here, and will continue to do so.

Y'all have a really good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Carol

Ruth Ann:  I am praying for your scan results.

Pat:  I hope you can get more sleep and the weather pattern changes for you.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy Name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
To "bless" is to approve of, to commend, to affirm what someone has done.  To "bless" the Lord, then, is to tell how wonderful His works have been in any given situation.  Do you bless Him today?  Oh may I truly bless Him today!
We had a very fair representation of the congregation present Sunday evening for our "forum," and the discussion was excellent.  Some apparently thought the message from the morning was very needful.  I'm thankful for that!

Papa John

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.  God's grace is sufficient for each one of us whatever our thorn in the flesh may be.

Ruth Ann, I hope your scan will help the doctor to know just what is the matter and what can be done to help.  I had a note from my doctor a few days ago saying he wanted me to come in for another scan.  We haven't made the appointment for it yet.

Al, I'm glad the congregation appreciated your lesson Sunday.  Back when I was preaching it was encouraging when I had feed back like that.

Judy Mc, I wish you could send us some of your rain and you could have our sunshine.  Right now we need a little rain.  Late yesterday we were walking in our neighborhood and it seemed like at every other house they were watering the lawn.

Ria, I enjoy your colorful posts each day.  We spent five years living in Belgium and we remember the rain and the drizzle and the cloudy days.  Seems like sometimes we would go for weeks without seeing the sun.  But we did enjoy living there and we met so many wonderful people.

Rachelle, I know that home schooling takes a lot of hard work on your part but I'm sure it is worth it in the long run.

Karma ~ Maybe it is a Hoosier thing...drawing blood.  That's what the nurse says...draw blood.

Janet ~ Thanks...but have you noticed that I am repeating the quotes?  At least, it has been 364 days since I posted them.  We are having a lot of storms.  It rained and stormed in the night last night.  But I was so tired, I went right back to sleep.

Hi Nards!!!

Rachelle ~ Home schooling sounds like hard work but I am sure very rewarding when you see your own kids 'get' it!  All home schooler are to commended.

Pat ~ Your storms sound terrible.  I don't think ours were that intense.  I don't have any tree limbs down anyway.  But then they might be in Lapel!!!

Shawnee ~ We haven't had any Tornado Alerts...just Tornado Watches...weather favorable for tornados.  Don't know why they use the word 'favorable'.  No one favors tornados unless it is the tornado chasers.

Al ~ Thank you for the prayer for those who are in the tornado areas.  We need them!!  The prayers, that is.

Marilyn ~ Good morning.  Your prayer are so heartfelt.  And yes, I have been to the Trees of Mystery...many years ago...A fascinating place.  The kids loved sitting on Paul Bunyans shoe and seeing Big Blue.

Jeanne ~ Those storms in the middle of the night can be traumatic.  At my age, I just roll over and go back to sleep.

Papa John ~ How is baby Elsie?  Have you visited her at home yet?  I know it will be wonderful to see her growing up.

Judy Mc ~ Sounds like you had a time of it getting back home from Michigan.  All roads lead to home...it just doesn't seem that way sometimes.

Kathy ~ The Redwoods are awesome trees.  I wonder if you can still drive through a couple of them.  If trees could talk............

June ~ We did have a very similar night and day.  This doctor that I am going to now...his nurse is the only person in all my life that tells me to hydrate myself before having a blood test (draw).  So I drink plenty of liquid before going to the nurse.  It helps but she still says I am a hard one to get blood from.  One compliment...she says no one could accuse me of being a druggie!!!!!

Ruthie ~ Our grass is nice and green also.  And growing!!!!  At the price of gas, I would be thankful for a drought!!  Sons are wonderful!!!!  They do things unconditionally out of love for their Moms.

Janet ~ Hopefully for ISP is fine now.  Could this have been the problem of you being unable to post photos awhile back?  I have dial up and no problem.

Ria ~ I am sending you warmth from my heart to Holland.  Now, do you feel better?

Ruth Ann ~ I am praying that your scan tells the doctors what is wrong or right and they know what to do for your neck.  I know I am fine since my Selective Root Nerve Injection.

Carol ~ Good morning.

Jerry just came in.  We are going to see my step-daughter, Mary, and her husband, Cody.  Cody has had heart problems for over 10 years...open heart surgeries (2), angio-plasty (sp), and isn't doing very well at this time.  Fact is, he doesn't do well anytime...would scare me to pieces if I were around him all the time.

Howdy!

Rachelle~Kids can be cruel.  We don't have that mean of kids in our neighborhood.   :( Thank God!
You are doing the right thing.  Most the folks here who are mean are the adults to the parents who homeschool.  Go figure.  I am a rebel. muhahahaha...
I do plan to put my daughter in school this year. We'll see how that works out with my stubburn attitude.  I figure I would spend just as much time in school as Chandraya will.  :D

I have been very busy this past few weeks, but we have been having lots of fun.  Hope you are all having as much fun as us.

I better get going.  Almost time to workout.

uiba

@ Pat - thanks for the devotional, I love that verse!  God does things so differently than the way we do them.

@ Rachelle - I feel very sad for your little girl.  My kids have had experiences like that, and it just breaks your heart.   It's so wonderful that she's not vengeful.  Give her a big hug from me, please (I know, she doesn't know me, but you can give her a hug from me anyway :)

Take care all!

OH, so many postings since I was last here.

Can't mention all of them but I was touched by so many.

Glad to hear the storms are over; weather wise; storms in our lives,  well--just give them to the LORD.

HE promised us relief; and our awesome GOD will deliver.

Thinking of Chris and Margit flying home today made me think of this lovely hymn.

Aren't the words so true of our community here on Christian Photographers?

BLEST BE THE TIE
(Click to hear music)

Author:  John Fawcett, 1740-1817
Musician:  Hans G. Nageli, 1773-1836
Arr. By Lowell Mason, 1792-1872

Acts 4:32
And the multitude of them that believed
were of one heart and of one soul:
neither said any of them that ought of the things
which he possessed was his own;
but they had all things common.

Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like that to that above.

Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.

We share each other's woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day.

From sorrow, toil and pain,
And sin, we shall be free,
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity.

Hi everyone.

Pat, we do not live close to Conyers as that is south of us.  However, the contractor we have here today working on our house lives in a little town called Social Circle not far from Conyers and his family left their home to go to a shopping center to avoid breathing the fumes from the chloride from the pool chemical plant that is on fire..

The traffic off Interstate 20, which goes through Conyers has been closed for a 27 mile stretch and the traffic going West has been diverted to the highway that goes in front of our church.  Pat and I went their for Calvin Cove this afternoon and the traffic is bumper to bumper for miles and miles.  Fortunately we had a light to get out on and only had to go a short distance.  It is a mess.

Another very busy day as Pat and I both had dental appointments and our dentist is about 45 minutes from where we live.  This was just routine cleaning and no cavities, except in the wallet. :'(

I have read all the postings today but am not going to try to comment individually as am tired.  Will try to write more tomorrow.

Pat

Thanks Larry...  I guess that Highway 20 is what Katie Sturtz and I would have driven on to go to Joan Grimes house back then after the Georgia Bash.

Get rested, Larry.

I'm setting up my gallery that I've purchased from Neil at Photo-Sense.  I'm really happy with it.

And the price right now is just so excellent.  5 pounds is only $10.00 US and about $12.50 Canadian.

This is a good price for the folks right now if they'd like to post photos on here as well as have a little slide show, etc. for their friends.

I think your right, Pat.  It is a good deal and easy to understand.  I think for me I need something with  bit more space and ability to hold bigger files.  Perfect for the folks on CP.  Now we just need to get them to get it so we can help them get started.  Any hands?

Pat

Liz is getting it but she's the only person I know of on CP but several on SeniorNet are getting.

The nice thing is the ability to have a built in Slide Show.

You can have files uploaded, Soni to as large as 1200K but I sure wouldn't upload that size!  LOL

Howdy.

Pat nice gallery, I love the water shots and Lauren, of course Geordie is my very favorite as always.

Thanks Etta Sue.

I am getting impatient at waiting for my ink to arrive so I can get on with printing out my lessons. My memory is not good enought to save them to my computer and work on them from there.  I have to have them right in front of my face.

I am so tired today. I took Bea to the beauty shop for a new hair do then to the grocery store. It is so much work when I take her shopping.

She buys a lot of heavy stuff. I have to let her out in front of the place she lives, drive around the back and unload the car at the back door, drive back to the front andpark across the street, go into the building and get the big flat bed cart go to the back door load up the cart, take it to her apartment unload the cart take the cart back down in the elevator. No wonder I am so tired today.

Speaking of homeschoolers --
One of the services I offer is year end testing (I think I had mentioned that).  Yesterday, one of the parents was telling me that her daughter finished her senior year in February.  The daughter is a tremendous fastpitch softball player (pitcher), adn the coach "recruited" her to play in the spring.  She went to public schools for three months.  No grade below a 95 or 100, all the teachers loved her, and she oodles of friends (ever heard that no socialization rumor).  She played her last game on Friday, went ot the prom on Saturday, and withdrew on Monday.  She starts at a local private college this fall.  It was an interesting story.

Sonifo -- Each child is different.  Some do very well in public school, others in private, and some need homeschooling.  In the story above, the young lady was horrified at some of the things she encountered at first, but after three months saw them as "normal."  My recommendation to you is to cover your child in prayer daily.  I hope she has an awesome public school experience.  Are you still going to homeschool the boys?

Well, I've got a few more minutes before the boys get home.  I'd better get crackin!

karmat

PS -- Yea, Etta, we call it drawing blood here, too.  Just thought I'd mess wit ya a bit!!

I am homeschooling the boys still.  They like it, so we will still do it.  Troy will still be on the highschool swim team and will hopefully take a few classes at the highschool if the school will allow it.

Pat
, I probably wont put photos that big on there, but they would be up to 900 kb at times.  It is a good space to keep your photos just to store them.  Have you heard of the news about the cd you burn your pictures on are only lasting 2-3 years?  Some of mine have lasted longer then that.  I think it has alot to do with how well you store them.  I am trying to think of an easier way to store photos and have them last for years for grandkids and stuff.

Pat

Soni, I heard that on Saturday at Rebecca's birthday party.  I was sort of shocked.  But up until now, I've been making new CDs all the time of my photos.  And I have a set that I never touch.

Yes, I'd like mine too to be available for many years.

Interesting story, Karma about the homeschooling.  I know that Janice's three children that she homeschooled right till the time of moving south, were in the top 3 or 4 of the class and are having no problems whatsoever with their work.
