JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

All Thy waves and Thy billows are gone over Me.
Psalm 42:7

The Lord on high is mightier. . . than the mighty waves of the sea.
Psalm 93:4

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm 23:2

The formidable waves of God's righteous judgment crashed in their entirety over the Lord Jesus as He was sacrificed for our horrific transgressions.

Only He could have survived the pounding turbulence of such an onslaught.

Having borne in full the punishment that should have been ours, He now leads us beside the still waters.
--David Logan

Then that closing scene of anguish;
all God's waves and billows roll
Over Him; there left to languish
on the cross to save my soul.

Everyone must be extremely busy this time of year.  I am all ready to leave for church in a few minutes.  It is cloudy and gloomy.  Race day here for the Indianapolis 500.  Hope it doesn't get rained out!  After church Jerry and I are going to Tony and Charlene's.  I borrowed some cook books and she wants them back to plan for a party coming up.  Then Ivalou and I will go to my neices open-house for her high school graduation.  She graduated fourth in her class of over 400 kids!!!  Her brother said if she would have tried harder she could have gotten third.   ::)  Then it is relaxation after that until tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my brother's birthday.  Kaye Don wants us to go for breakfast and some of his kids will be there also.  Then it is relaxation until Tuesday evening.  That is Small Groups!!!  Then it is relaxation.  But also, sometime in that span, I will need to mow the lawn again.  Too much rain.

Tony called yesterday and said that Charlene was trimming their bushes and had to have 8 stitches in a finger...she cut the wrong thing.  Also that his step-daughter was rear-ended in her fiances car in Indy.  Wasn't their day!

What a terrible cut that must be, Etta Sue.  I'm sorry about that.  I dislike getting stitches as well.

Ria, I haven't been on a bicycle for so many years!  I'm sure I'd fall off and yet I used to love going everywhere on my bike.

Acts 5 : 30
The God of our fahters raised
Jesus from the death --whom you
had killed by hanging him on a tree.

Peter is making clear that his faith
in Jesus didn't just begin with Jesus.
It began with the Patriarchs, the great
Jewish fahters. The God who blessed
them also raised Jesus from the dead,
even though had been executed in the most
heinous and degrading way possible for a
faithful Jew -- he was nailed to a cross,
something illegal and a sign of being
cursed under Jewish Law. Praise God!
He raised Jesus from the dead and
exalted Him and made Him
our Saviour and our Lord.

PRAYER...
Thank you dear Fahter,
for showing Your Power
over evil, sin, hate,
jealousy, and death.
In the name of Jesus
my Lord and Saviour,
i offer my praise and
thanksgiving.  AMEN

Good Morning:

Pat and Ria thank you for the devotionals this morning. Those devotionals are the main reason I stop in every morning, along with meeting my family here for coffee and donuts.

I will be off to church in just a little bit here, and will be back to talk with y-all later. Pentecost Sunday celebrations abound.

A good Sunday service. :)

Our pastor spoke on stewardship and what we give to Jesus.  Tithing is an automatic must..but the gifts and offerings are extra abd from our hearts.

The song..."I Surrender All" was tied right into his sermon.

I'm off to study before our MasterLife group meets @ 5PM.

A blessed day to all.    :) :)

Hi everyone, Good afternoon!!
We survived the tornadoes. We prayed and the didn't come close to us only within 30 miles. (Which for me is still too close). The sirens went off and I panicked. I told the boys to get their stuff together so we could go to shelter because we live in a mobile home. (bad idea) But my dh Jason watched the news and helped us all remain calm. Thank goodness God gave me Jason too keep me calm.  :)
Today we are just relaxing and enjoying our Sunday. The kids are drawing and I'm listening to some great Praise and Worship music. a band called Sonicflood.  :)

Pat thank you today's devotional

Happy Birthday Janet's mom!!   :)

Happy Sunday.

Hugs,
Shawnee

Hey, gang!  Pretty good Sunday for ME, but Karma has been feeling a little rough.  She told me last night to tell you guys hi, but I didn't get it done.

Hope everything is going well.

Hi, I'm baaaack!  Hope all are having a good weekend. Most certainly, the dedication of the World War II memorial was a moving experience to me. I remember those who went, even though I was a little girl at that time. And, i remember how sad and inadequate my dad felt because his eyesight was so bad they classified him as 4F.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Trust everyone is having a good weekend.  Karma., hope you are feeling better.  Is it anothermigraine?  sure hope not!

Ria., enjoy your bike rides as much as you can.  Gosh I can't remember when it was that I had a bike ride....couldn't balance myself on one now! :D

I have to get off here and get supper ready...guess it will be chicken tonight....can't go wrong with that! ;)

I'm home from church. The kids stopped by to pick up the  carpet shampooer they left here  and will be coming back for other the lawn mower at another time.

My G-daughter Savannah is going to to Ballet today with her friend to see Sleeping Beauty. What a wonderful experience for her, I remember I saw Sleeping Beauty performed in Ballet.

Forest was so concerned about Bebe's leg. She is still limping but putting alittle bit of weight on it today. When she climbs up on the bed or the couch she isn't favoring it much.

Etta Sue I also looked at the site you posted for the cross. Very interesting. There is also a big cross out in the desert near Baker California that has been there for many many years. Glad to hear that you had an enjoyable mini vacation.

Pat how are you today?

At last we have nice weather and it seems to be staying.    No rain either for the moment.

Galatians 2:20  I am crucified with Christ.............  Am I ?  Interesting Question.  Something we all should ask.

Blessings to all

Hi everyone.  We didn't get home from church and eating out until after 3 pm and then had to take a little snooze so it is a later than usual for me to post today.

Al, thanks for the explanation of the sayinga about sloth.  That is a word not in current usage, other than I believe there is an animal named something like that.

Etta Sue, that was quite an adventure you and Jerry had.  Sounds like you had some great food along the way.

Janet, it sounds like Abby is having a wonderful time.

Papa John, I just saw those new pictures of your great granddaughter you posted on SN.  How sweet and the four generation one is so nice.

Kathy, I don't think I can picture you in my mind as a chain saw lady!!   :D  Hope it makes your cleanup work easier but please be very careful with it.

Sonja, sounds like you all are getting started on a very busy summer.  Congratulations on the record number of sales of your prints.  Hope the garage sale will go very well and that you will have lots of customers.

Etta Sue, I tuned in on the radio when we got home this afternoon and from the discussion it sounded like the race hadn't even begun and might be postponed due to rain as more was headed that way.  That sounds like a typical brother comment concerning your neice's graduation position in her class.  She certainly did very well.  Sorry to hear of the accidents for members of your family yesterday.

Ria, it sounds like you are really enjoying your work at the bookstore.  Also glad to hear that the weather is more to your liking and you were able to do the bike ride.  Sure the exercise must be beneficial to your back and overall health.

Shawnee, my wife and I once lived in a mobile home with our two small children and the threat of tornados was always worrisome as we had no place to seek shelter.  A year or so after we sold our mobile home at the time we moved from Kentucky to Virginia a tornado did come through the park and destroyed the mobile home where we had been living.

Of course I am not sure where we live now is much safer as have no place to seek shelter other than an inside closet.  I think that gives us only false security but might protect us from some flying glass.

Nards, sorry to read that Karma isn't feeling well and hope the situation will soon improve.  You and Travis take good care of her and give her lots of tender loving care.

Ruth Ann, my father was also classified 4f due to a heart murmur as he had tried to enlist.  Glad you are home safe and sound.

Judy, good to see you posting and I agree with you that you can't go wrong with chicken.  I had a delicious mesquite grilled chicken salad for lunch and it was very good.

Ladybug, don't think I have welcomed you to CP so please consider this such a welcome.  Good to see you posting here.

Pat, I didn't have the difficulty understanding the devotional today.  You really challenged me yesterday as I indicated.  Hope you have your yard to your satisfaction.

Janet

I also watched part of the dedication ceremonies for the WWII Memorial.  Very moving, and I have been thinking so much about our veterans, both those who served in the past and those now serving.  We owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude and respect for their sacrifices.

The young AF Pilot who bombed Saddam Hussein and his sons in Baghdad  was on TV this morning.  Such a handsome young man, and a Christian, too.  He sure made me think about my grandson who is in AF ROTC in college, and will be serving four years in the Air Force after graduation.  I know all the moms, dads, grandparents and other relatives of our military people love their kids, too, and appreciate our remembering all of them in our prayers.  May God protect and bless them, and please, God, continue to bless America.

Darrel and I just returned from decorating his family's graves at the cemetery, and visited several others that we knew as well.  It is a bittersweet time, remembering those who have gone before and looking forward to when we join them on the other side.  I guess that is part of growing older; we think about those things more.

I am going to go to the Assembly of God church tonight.  See all of you tomorrow!

On Whitsuntide (Pentacost) I'm thankful for the wonderful gift the Father has sent in the Holy Spirit.  He is God, yet in some mysterious and special way, He dwells right inside us.  He is indeed dwelling in that way in absolutely every Christian.  1 Cor. 12:13, 14 tells us about it when it says, "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free - and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

We ought to thank Him, for we wouldn't have an ounce of spiritual life without Him.  He is God, yet He dwells within us!  He lives, and therefore we live!

I've got a question for all of you.  In the schools in your area - is the pledge of allegiance said at all, at any time?  I've been hearing that it is not.  When I was growing up we said it daily - and were challenged to mean it.

Oh let's pray for our nation.

Pat

Hi Everyone...

It's been a rather busy day for me.  One of the settings on my Photo site was incorrect and after uploading photos to the site, it can't be changed so I deleted all of my photos and started over.  It's fixed now.

I see you online, Liz.  I see also that your site is all set up and ready for you to start loading it up.

I'll help you with that.

Thanks Al for helping out with yesterday's quote.

Hello to the rest of you.

If you left a comment on my site it's now gone unless you did it later today.  Would you be so kind as to replace it?  I promise I won't delete them this time!  LOL

Al, I just asked Abby and she says they said the Pledge of Allegiance every day in her classroom--including under God.  Thank God for the small towns and small schools, as they are usually the last to be corrupted.  But the enemy will not stop his onslaught, we have to remain vigilant.

This morning the youth pastor spoke and his sermon was about weeds!  He was likening weeds in a lawn to sins in our lives.  Tonight the pastor at the Assembly spoke on Isaiah 40, 28-31, the passage about waiting on the Lord and rising up with wings as eagles.

Please, if you know a Veteran, thank him or her tomorrow for their service to our country.  I certainly intend to do that, starting with my husband, who gave seven years of his life in service.  Jeanne, please thank Gene for me, too, will you?  Do we have other veterans here on CP?

Janet, I think Jerry is one.  Etta Sue can tell us.

Amen to that Janet! My husband served in the Korean "conflict", his dad in WW I, his brother in WWII, his younger brother in VietNam.
We are talking farming, rural young men who were not career soldiers.  However, his younger brother did make a career of it.  We owe our American heritage to the men who defended this country of ours where we sing "God Bless America" .

This is for all the men/women on CP who served in any branch of the armed forces whether or not they were involved in any skirmish/war.  Also, for their spouses and families who were behind them.

Janet My Pastor said the same thing about thanking our veterans for serving our country so that we could remain a free nation.

I will have to ask Savannah about her school.

I have posted some more PSP lessons and have started on Week 4.  I should be on Week 5 just call me "Slow Poke"

Thanks Larry!  You just gave me an idea.  I think I will show some of my prints at the garage sale.

Janet, how is Darrel feeling?  I have been worried about him.

Thanks Pat for posting for me.  I am hoping this will work today.  My internet service seems to be working better.

We have been doing alot of cleaning today so I am very tired.

Hope you are all having a good Sunday.

Love you!
Sonja

Liz

Yes Pat, I was on for a minute.  Then Wendy came down about something and the post didn't get finished.

Thanks.  I will try to get something done with the photo site shortly.  Have been having some health problems and not on the computer to do anything much.....

Have read the posts and caught up on things.  Interesting as always...appreciate the devotions and encouraging Christian Chat.

Have taken the cat (Miss Squeak) up to Amanda and can now get my chair back.  It is either share or let her have it altogether.  So will now go and watch the National Memorial Concert.  World War Two veterans are becoming scarce.  Unfortunately, there never seems to be an end to war and so there will always be soldiers to honor and mourn.

God Bless,
Liz

Hi Liz...

I'll help you get started.  Send me your password and we'll check some of the settings before you start.  I changed one of mine without knowing spent some time today fixing it up.  But these errors sure help you learn!

Now it's time to lock this door.

We forgot about Zoomdak's birthday today so we'll all wish him Belated Birthday Wishes tomorrow.  He's 17!  And a fantastic photographer.  We've seen some of his work over in our photos areas.
