JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How To Khow The Power Of The Word

    Hebrews 4:12 says...
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    Psalm 119:11, 16 says...
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
    I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.

    Morning Devotional...

And David was greatly distressed. . . but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. [/i]
    1 Samuel 30:6

David had heard of plots to stone him and, even worse, his family was taken captive by the enemy along with the other women and children of his city.

Life sometimes gets "greatly distress[ing]." The pressures of job, family and even the Lord's people may be weighing heavily on you today.

    Don't give up.

David encouraged himself in the Lord. This is solid ground, never changing.

Jesus said, "I will never leave you or forsake you." "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the ends of the earth."

These are the promises that will raise us above our circumstances.
    --C. Tempest

Just place your all in His dear hands
    and rest assured this day,
    God loves you, loves you very much;
He'll keep you all the way.

In the days when the number of the disciples was multiplying, why did the Grecian Jews murmur against the Hebrews?

        2) Because they forsook Moses
        3) They taught one must be circumcised

Yes Pat, they were the first item I baked.  I'm glad you enjoyed the cookies I left with you.

QuoteSue:  Don't let Dad get to close to the cookies or is that  why we have to meet at Tim Hortons  tomorrow evening?
Cookies are put away in a container safe for the bridal shower on Sunday.  Dad can't get near them.  Maybe a batch for Father's Day?

      And now....way past my bedtime.....

      Good day, folks.

I just got back from the tech rehearsal and still in costume.  I just wanted to say I am not going to be here tomorrow.

Hope you all have a fun day.

Janet~Did you all feed the duck or geese at the park or do they have them there?

Marilyn~Yes he can get his permit at 15, but can't get his license till he is 15 and 9 months.  He doesn't need drivers ed. but it does help to lower insurance.  And they don't need proof of insurance here.  If he gets busted without it, it is a major fine.  Of course he will have it and will take drivers ed this fall.

I better get to bed.  I have to be at the rehearsal at 8:15am.

      ROMANS 6 : 3 NIV
Or don't you know that all of us
who were baptized into Christ Jesus
      were baptized into His death?

      More than an outward symbol,
baptism is coming to the core of the
      gospel (1 Corinthians 15 : 1-4) and
sharing in it by grace (Romans 6: 1-15)
What an incredible blessing to be
able to do what Jesus did at the beginning
of His ministry to please God (Luke 3: 21-22),
and also know that through our faith in God's
power to raise Him from the dead, our lives
can be joined with His until we can share
fully in His glory! (Colossians 2:12; 3:1-4).

      Loving Fahter, thank You
      for Your grace.
Thank You for raising Jesus from death.
Thank You for letting me share in that
      resurrection through faith.
Thank You for the assurance i have
      of sharing in His glory.
Thank You for letting me be Your
      beloved child, with whom You
      are well pleased.
Thank You in Jesus name,  AMEN.

      Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks Ria for your devotion today.  I really appreciated it this morning.

You can't get your driver's licence here till you're 16 and I think it should even be older than that!  But this is from an ex-driving instructor.  LOL

I have a few errands to run today so I will be here off and on.

      Hello everyone!

Looks like it is going to be another beautiful day here.  Travis is up and running and running  and running.  He is getting to be a real character.  He loves to sing.  Right now his favorite songs (the ones he sings the most) are "Jesus Loves Me" (he gets most of the words), "I Can Only Imagine"  (He gets one or two lines of it then goes into "now i lay me down to sleep ??? ), and "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."  I wish we could find a way to put a video up.  It's really cute (at least I think so :-P )

Glad to see people checking in today.  I know we are all busy, and it doesn't seem as chatty in here, right now, but please know when I'm not "in here" your are in my hearts.

Take care, adn I'll try to pop in sometime!

        Good afternoon everyone.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the SOn of God, who loved me.......... Think today about His love.  If you have seen The Passion Of The Christ, you will be able to visualize a little of what He went through for me and for you.  Are we prepared to show love to those who wrong us?  Interesting question!

Pat do you recall a hymn What Wonderous Love?

        A brilliant sunny day today.

        Blessings to all

        Hi everyone.

I am just back from attending a luncheon for volunteers at the county senior center.  I am involved with a program called RSVP, which stands for Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.  Each year they have a thank you luncheon for the volunteers and this is the first time I have attended although have been involved with the program for several years.

They provided a delicious catered lunch and then had 13 ladies who sang barbershop harmony and then they had a group of seniors called "The Georgia Bells" who danced and sang.

We also had someone from the District Attorney's Office who spoke about the gang problems and home invasion problems beginning to plague our county.  There were several others who spoke briefly to the group.  They gave each of us an insulated lunch bag.  It was a very nice affair.

The contractor has finished his work upstairs and today is working on our lower kitchen cabinets.  We have having slide out shelves put into the lower cabinets.  The older we become the more difficult to reach the lower shelves and also there is tremendous wasted space and these slide out drawers will more than double the usuable space in these cabinets.  Hopefully the work will be finished tomorrow.

It is good to see everyone posting that has stopped by.  Pat, as always, another good devotional and Ria thanks for sharing the devotional material you have been posting.

Etta Sue, drive safely and have a nice trip.  You have been on the road quite a bit lately.

Sonja, it sounds like you are doing a lot of rehearsal.  This must be quite a show that is being put together with your dance group.  You would have enjoyed seeing these senior ladies dancing today.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

:)Yes , we are" free indeed."
Free from all bondage, free from fear, free from the wages of sin, that is - death, free also from sin itself, if we cry out for strength to overcome it, and we are also free from satan's grip and free to love and serve God and His people.
So let us stay free, and the only way we can do this is to abide in Him Who loved us and washed us in His own precious blood.
May His Name be praised and hallowed always.  :D
        love Chris.

        Papa John

It is nice to see each one of you today.  Last night in our Wednesday night Bible study we started a new quarter.  This time we have a great Bible teacher who formerly was head of the graduate school of religion at Lipscomb University.  He is really an exciting teacher and I am looking forward to these classes.

Tonight we are going to a concert of Blue Grass music.  A friend gave us tickets which were $20.00 each.  We very seldom get out for things like this but I think we will enjoy it.

It is a kind of rainy day today.  Cornelia and I went to the Mall this morning to do a little shopping and we had lunch in the food court.

        Isa 55:6-9
6   Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
7   Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8   "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
9   "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

It is so hard not to let frustration and murmuring creep in.  Yesterday I spent two hours working on the parade pictures for the town's website.  After some glitches it finally came up nicely online.  Then this afternoon I went back to double check and everything was gone.   :(  So I put another two hours into the project and as of now everything seems fine.  I had Gene come in and verify that it was really working the way it should, just in case it doesn't tomorrow - at least I'll know I wasn't imagining things.   ::)  It all seemed so much easier and more straightforward when I could write my own code instead of using FrontPage.   :-\

Here is a program everyone should install!

          INSTALLING LOVE

Tech Support: Yes, how can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

T.S.: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

C: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

T.S.: The first step is to open your Heart.

          Have you located your Heart?

C: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

          T.S.: What programs are running?

C: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge, and Resentment running right now.

T.S.: No problem. Love will gradually delete Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

C: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

T.S.: With pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely deleted.

C: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

T.S.: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

C: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?

T.S.: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

C: So what should I do?

T.S. Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files:
Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge Your Limitations.

          C: Okay, done.

T.S.: Now copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

C: Got it. Hey! My Heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over my Heart. Is this normal?

T.S.: Sometimes. For others, it takes awhile, but eventually gets it at the proper time. So, Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and it's various components to everyone you meet. They will in turn, share it with others and return some cool components back to you.

          C: Thank you, God.

We are safely back home, and glad to be here.  Beth's MRI took over two hours, as they had to do it with contrast and without contrast.  They gave her a mild sedativie to help her get through it, and she said she actually fell asleep for a short time in the tube.  It was an open tube this time, not the enclosed kind.

Darrel and I did a little shopping while she was having her test.  Then we picked her up and had lunch at On The Border.  I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and was very disappointed.  I got a HUGE bun, but the sandwich wasn't very good.  I love their salsa and chips, though.  Then we all three split a piece of Kahlua Ice Cream Pie.  MMMMMM.

It seems quiet here tonight without my Abby.  I'm sure she will be back soon for another visit.

I am really tired, not used to getting up at a little after 5:00 AM.  I should sleep well tonight!

Pat, I came back to say I like the Bible trivia.  So if it isn't too much work, please keep it up whenever you have the time.  Sorry I missed the one yesterday.  I thought maybe different versions of the Bible translated 'pitcher' as 'bottle'.  Oh, well.........
