Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

How To Abide In Christ

    John 15:4-7 says...

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

    1 John 2:28 says...

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

    Morning Devotional...

He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him.
    Matthew 27:43

As the Lord Jesus was being nailed to the cross, the High Priest and his followers mocked and taunted Him, rejoicing that at last they were rid of Him whom they envied and despised.

They failed to understand that He was doing God's will, putting away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

Based on His flawless life and matchless death, there is an answer to their mocking query.

    Will God have Him?

    Yes!

He has given Him an eternal throne and a Name above every name.

And someday every knee shall bow to Him--even those who taunted Him.
    --Bill Bush

    Jesus Wondrous Saviour!
    (Click to hear music)

Jesus, wondrous Saviour!  Christ, of Kings the King!
    Angels fall before Thee,  Prostrate, worshipping;
Fairest they confess Thee In the heaven above.
    We would sing Thee fairest  Here in hymns of love;

Fairer far than sunlight  Unto eyes that wait
    Amid fear and darkness,  'Til the morning break;
Fairer than they daydawn,  Hills and dales among,
    When its tide of glory  Wakes the tide of song;

Sweeter far than music  Quivering from keys
That unbind all feeling  With strange harmonies.
    Thou art more and dearer  Than all minstrelsy;
Only in Thy presence  Can joy's fulness bee.

All earth's flowing pleasures  Were a wintry sea,
Heaven itself without Thee  Dark as night would be.
Lamb of God! Thy glory  Is the light above.
Lamb of God! Thy glory  Is the life of love.

Life is death if severed  From Thy throbbing heart.
Death with life abundant  At Thy touch would start.
Worlds and men and angels  All consist in Thee:
Yet Thou camest to us  In humility,

    Jesus! all perfections  Rise and end in Thee;
Brightness of God's glory  Thou eternally/
    Favoured beyond measure  They Thy face who see;
May we gracious Saviour,  Share this ecstasy.

QuoteSue, is the recipe for that Shortbread in our Kitchen area?  Delicious!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed that little treat Pat. http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2895.msg50222#msg50222

And now must call it a day.  I have a bridal shower later today for my girlfriend and must get some rest.

    Sonifo

All done with dance now, at least for a month.  Chandraya, Lila Mae and I plan to take dance camp in July.

We had fun with Mike's mom and dad.  They are such precious folks.  They reallly enjoyed the recital.

I didn't tell you all but at the last few dance practices for the western finally, they needed more men so Mike volunteered to be a Russian.  He did an awesome job!  What a trooper.

I better get to bed.  Long day tomorrow.

    Love you all,
    Soni

    P.s.  Thanks Chris! (hug)

    Larry Hanna

    Hi everyone.

It looks like it may be pretty quiet here today or perhaps folks are just taking a few extra minutes to rest on this day.  I am ready for Sunday School and Church.  It is going to be a pretty warm day here.

Sonja, I hope you have some pictures from your program and one that includes Mike.   It sounds like he is very supportive of your efforts.

Sue, hope the shower for your friend goes very well.  Is this the day that the shortbread will be unsealed?

Pat, a fine devotional this morning.  The Scripture itself would have made a very full devotional thought.  We must stay connected to the vine.

Sarah, congratulations on your test results.  Know you are relieved to have that part of the test over or successfully.  Hope you get rested up now.

Marilyn, be sure to give us a link to your PSP lesson results.  It sounds like you are doing very well.

Ruth Ann, those little ones sure attract the attention in the room.  You sound so positive from your weekend and know you had a great visit.  Glad you are home safe and sound.

Janet, is Curtis in the National Guard?  Our grandson will be leaving for basic training about the same time but will be there for 22 weeks of training.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Ruth Ann Bice

Because things have heated up at work, I'll be attending worship, eating with friends, then meeting my boss at 2 o'clock.

Yes, Larry, she's such a sweetie at barely 10 months.

They got a dog from the shelter a couple of weeks ago, and she's a perfect dog for a little one - small in size so as not to intimidate the baby, very patient, compliant, yet frisky and playful when the time is right.

During the time I spent with her yesterday morning, the dog was in the large room converted from their garage and 2 steps down from the kitchen door. Well, she would look at the dog and make the same sound every time, and I thought, "This child has made her own 'word' for dog."

Sure enough, as we were outside when Leslie and I were preparing to leave, she was sitting in her walker and the dog was frisking about. I pointed out to Mark and Pam that everytime she looked at the dog, she made this same sharp "ook oook" sound.

Then the dog barked. Imagine our surprise when the "ook ook" took on even more meaning - it was the exact same pitch as the dog's bark! So, we may have a singer to follow family tradition, here.

All four of my children are good singers, and maybe another generation will be a singer, too.

The doctor who sees Leslie asked to see me Friday because Leslie was sharing with him about this diziness I've been dealing with for 6 weeks.

He manipulated my neck a moment and we were both really surprised by a very loud pop that was even heard by a nearby patient. I did not take the dizziness medication Friday or last night, and, while I experienced it a bit this morning, it was not nearly as bad.

Also, Leslie realized yesterday that he had gone the entire day without medication for the headaches.

Maybe our prayers and His healing touch are being answered with this doctor.

    More later.

    Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

    Marilyn

Well Ruth Ann those are certainly reasons for us to Praise God with you this morning.

Good morning to Larry, Soni and Pat you have already been here. Hi Sarah, I almost forgot to say heello to you too. Sorry about that.

Larry, if you scroll down to "Digital Art" there is a thread there called Paint Shop Pro. All my graphics that I have done so far are there.

I had an email back from Rachelle, she is very busy withthe end of year work for the kids and she said she will be busy  through the summer.

I emailed Monty, but it came back as undeliverable, Pat have you heard from Monty.

Must get ready for church now.

I'm just poppin in to greet all of you.  We are ready to leave for church, have only a few minutes.

Congratulations, Sarah!!  Great job!  I know you are relieved to know you passed, and I'm proud of you.

Larry---no, Curtis isn't in the National Guard.  He is in ROTC (air force) and since he has finished his Sophomore year, this is the summer for his Basic.  He is going to South Dakota (I think--might be North Dakota!)

Ruth Ann, I'm so glad you had some time with your darling granddaughter.  They are such blessings.  Glad, too about the improvement in both your health and Leslie's.  God is good!!

I must run, try to come back later~!

What touching messages and memories are on our TV today about DDay.

It's nice to see the folks here.  I'm on my way back to watch further memories.   We had an uncle who was in both World Wars in the 48th Highlanders regiment which was in the First Division on D-Day so this is very special to me.

    Today is my granddaughter's birthday...

At the bottom of the page, it says "Kat".  She might be here later to see if anyone said "Happy Birthday" to her!  LOL

We are getting ready to head out the door.  We plan to take Troy to lunch and folfing.  Probably head to walmart and buy a bigger cage for his creatures.  ::)

Did I tell you all that we have a kitty now?

    Worship: Reverential Fear of God

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world
    stand in awe of Him.
    --Psalm 33:8

When we come into this sweet relationship, we are beginning to learn
astonished reverence, breathless adoration, awesome fascination,
lofty admiration of the attributes of God and something of the
breathless silence that we know when God is near.

You may never have realized it before, but all of those elements in
our perception and consciousness of the divine Presence add up to
what the Bible calls "the fear of God."...

There are very few unqualified things in our lives, but I believe
that the reverential fear of God mixed with love and fascination and
astonishment and admiration and devotion is the most enjoyable state
and the most purifying emotion the human soul can know.  Whatever
    Happened to Worship?, 30-31.

"Oh Lord, let me reach these heights in my worship today--
astonished reverence, breathless adoration, awesome fascination,
lofty admiration, breathless silence--let me experience that
'reverential fear of God' this morning. Amen."

D DAY THE 6TH OF JUNE.
So many brave Christian  Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen came into the Lord's Prescence that day, so suddenly life was snuffed out.
Normandy was a terrible place to be, and the bravery there was incredible, thank God for those who are willing to stand in the breach.

So many times do I forget to say "thank-you" for my rich heritage of freedom and acknowledge the great sacrifice of D-day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KAT AND TO TROY
Sometime in the darkness of night our pastor's cars were broken into..glasses broken out, etc.  This is the 5th time this year.  He asked for prayer for the offenders and that they might someday come to the saving knowledge of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  He says he's going to leave a Bible in the car and maybe they will get it the next time.

Ruth Ann  what a nice praise report on your headaches!

Marilyn  I am proud of you and your Paint Shop Pro. Is it a program you buy or do you get it all on-line.  One day.......I'm going to get busy and stay on-line long enough to learn.

    God's blessing to all.            kathy

Yes, Larry.  It does seem that I have been traveling a lot lately but I do believe I have come to a screeching halt.  The dance recital was fabulous and I got to see the 14 year old...6'2"...pitch some in a baseball game.  They lost, tho.

Thank you, Karma, for the analogies on the trinity.  I had to do it, too!  Ivalou and I had a great time with her daughter. Jo, and her family.  Jo babysits and it was fun to spend a day with an 11-year-old, 5-year-old, a 4-year-old, three 2-year-olds and a 10-month old.  Guess which one was the most trouble/problem?  Yep, the 11-year-old.  But then it was the first day of no school!!!

Jerry trimmed some more bushes while I was gone.  The kitties remembered me.  Jerry mowed the grass also.  Now I owe him some more food!!!

Church was awesome today.  It was switch Sunday!  The Senior church and Teen church switched rooms again.  The Senior are back in the santuary with soft padded chairs!!!!  I worked the lights today for a man that is on vacation.  I like the lighting in the santuary...over thirty lights to play with.  Every thing went smooth.  Then Jerry and I had Mexican for lunch.  He is watching NASCAR and I am catching up on here.

Hello to everyone from Nashville, Tennessee, the home of Country Music.

We had a very good Bible class this morning and also morning worship.  For forty years I was in the pulpit most every Sunday and also teaching Bible classes.  I am enjoying these years now without those responsibilities.

Good to see Pat with a very good devotion,  Sue, Sonja, Larry, Ruth Ann, Marilyn, Janet, Chris and Margit, and Kathy. P.s. and Etta Sue who came in while I was typing.

A happy birthday to Kat and also to Troy.

I remember D. Day very well sixty years ago.  I was in high school, seventeen years old.  I joined the Navy two years later just as Germany surrendered and was training as an Aviation Radioman when the Japanese surrendered later that same year.  Fortunately for me I missed the action by being being born in 1927 rather than 1924.

    Rom 8:26-28
26   In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
27   And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
28   And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  (NIV)[/b]

God has been so good to me and given me so many wonderful blessings.  This morning we sang,  "God is so Good."  And I thought of how true that is.  It is wonderful to be a Christian and to have the peace which passes understanding.

    Happy BIRTHDAY[/color] Troy and Kat!
I'm with you, Papa John.  I still preach occasionally, but it's very nice not to have the pressure every week.  I also remember D Day.  I was 11, and I guess I missed everything by 4 or 5 years.  His timing is the best timing.
Quote"Oh Lord, let me reach these heights in my worship today--
astonished reverence, breathless adoration, awesome fascination,
lofty admiration, breathless silence--let me experience that
'reverential fear of God' this morning. Amen."
May that always be my prayer too.  May it be the prayer of more and more who go by the name Christian in our day.

    Sue

Larry, yes the shortbread was unveiled today.  The shower went better than expected.  We were only expecting a small turnout and had almost 30 people present.  Not too much was left over, and the gifts for the bride were beautiful!  I'm glad it's over though.  Now only the wedding remains.

Time to relax for the evening.  I think I will sleep very well tonight after this busy day.

Where Could I Go But to the Lord
    (Click to hear music)

Living below in this old sinful world
    Hardly a comfort can afford
Striving alone to face temptations call
Where could I go to the Lord

    Chorus:
Where could I go where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend to help me in the end
Where could I go to the Lord

Neighbors are fun I love them everyone
We get along in sweet accord
But when I pass the chilling hand of death
Where could I go to the Lord

    Chorus

Life here is grand with friends I love so well
Comfort I get from God's own Word
But when my soul needs manna from above
Where could I go to the Lord

    Chorus

Where could I go where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend to help me in the end
Where could I go to the Lord
Where could I go to the Lord

Sorry, I just had to say that.   :P
I hope everyone has been having a really terrific weekend and enjoying good or renewed health.

I've missed several opportunities to say WELCOME and HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I hope y'all will forgive me.   :-[  Things are beginning to level off here and hopefully I will be able to relax a bit more than in the past several months.  I have been browsing the 'net and found several places where I can read devotions and commentaries from some of the great scholars and ministers.  Sometimes I get to reading and browsing and lose track of the time I've spent online.   :-[  Usually a phone call will remind me that I need to disconnect for a while!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!
