Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How To Build Your Faith

    Hebrews 11:1, 3, 6, 27  says...

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

    1 Peter 1:7-9 says...

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

    Morning Devotional...

Thou hast strengthened the weak hands.  Thy words have upholden him that was falling.
    Job 4:3-4

The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in the U. S. military.

One man who received it was Henry Gurke. Part of his citation reads: "When a Japanese grenade dropped squarely into their foxhole, Pfc. Gurke...thrust his companion aside and flung his own body over the missile to smother the explosion. With unswerving devotion to duty and superb valor, Pfc. Gurke sacrificed himself in order that his comrade might live and carry on the fight."

Just a word or an act of kindness on our part can help some believer "live and carry on the fight."

    Will you give it?
    --S. McEachern

    Press forward and fear not!
    Be strong in the Lord,
In the power of His promise,
    the truth of His Word.

    If That Isn't Love
    (Click to hear music)

    Dottie Rambo

He left the splendor of heaven
    Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha
There to lay down His life for me

    And if that isn't love
    Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
    Yeh if that isn't love
    Then heaven's a myth
    There's no feeling like this
    If that isn't love.

    Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side
Then he spoke of love and compassion
And He took him to paradise

    It's got to be love
    Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
    Yeh if that isn't love
    Then heaven's a myth
    There's no feeling like this
    It's got to be love.

A BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KATLEEN AND TROY

JANET in Ronald Reagan has America lost a great president. He was also loved in Holland.

A lot people in HOLLAND have not take a look to D Day we are very happen that it is happen for 60 years it was the beginning from our freedom. But a lot people
don't like that there also was a German. Specially the older people who are living in 40-45 and they have lost someone
they don't like that. But he is also coming in Holland may 4 coming year then are we 60 years FREE.

And thursday we must vote for the European Unie. But in some country there has been a referendum or they will go in the EU. But in Holland has that not been. But in Holland is
liberty of speech. We may only not offend the Queen and that is right because we will also not be offend.
But now special the young people say now is coming what Hitler wanted to  do in WW2 make the Third Reich.
And we always get a great paper two weeks for we must vote on wich persons you can vote but now nothing.
I don't no what must me.

I don't no where all the others are i am not coming more on Sunday first Church and then my fahter is here the hole day and it is going not so good with him. He is very tired and
everything is him to much. He is a lot sleeping. It is making me sad.

      1 Kings 19 : 11-12
The Lord was not in the wind.
The Lord was not in the earthquake.
The Lord was not in the fire.
And after the fire came a whisper.

            A SURRENDER HEART

                     We find God more readily
in the silence of a surrendered heart
than in the whirlwind of a busy world.

      MATTHEW 6 : 6 NIV
But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Fahter,
      who is unseen.
Then your Fahter, who sees what is done in secret,
      will reward you.

      Prayer is an incredible invation
from God to share with Him what is
      on our hearts.
Even when we don't have words to say,
He helps us trough His Spirit in those moments.
      This incredibly intimate conversation,
sustained by the very precious of God within us,
must never be debased by crass showmanship or pride.
Prayer is not done to prove our piety,
but to deepen our relationship with the Almighty God.

      PRAYER...
Abba Fahter, thank you so much
for the incredible gift of prayer.
Thank You for listening to both
      my words and my heart.
      Thank you for being near
      and not far off.
Forgive me when i don't call
upon You as often as i should,
or when i take Your gracious
      listening ear for granted.
In Jesus name i pray  AMEN.

      Good morning all!

Hi Rachelle!  I hear you about WW.  I really need to do something.  I like doing it online, but with dial-up, it takes a really long time.  Have you looked into that?  Instead of going to weekly meetings, you do your own WI and journal (online).  I think it is cheaper, and less time consuming.  You can go to www.weightwatchersonline.com to check it out.  I probably should resign up, or something. :-/

I hope everyone is having a super monday.  It looks beautiful here.  TAS is still asleep :-0 and I am trying to get some homeschoolers' test reports written so they can get them sent  to the state.

Take care and I'll be around, maybe.

      Quote

I'm not on the list,  but I've been MIA for awhile due to changing our ISP to wireless and then having trouble connecting.

As I wrote that, it came to me that sometimes that's the way it is in my connection with God.  I'll have some change or other in my life that distracts me or attracts my attention and then I, well, forget or something, to connect with God, or my connection becomes spotty and unpredictable.

The thing is, the Server is always there, always "on," always "up." It's my "hard drive" (driven hard to do other things and pursue other interests) that is overloaded.

Yesterday was our first Sunday "on the road," and I did not go to church. I did a triathlon I've been training for. While I was biking, though, I sang hymns, and whenever I passed someone, after announcing "Passing on your left!" I said, "Peace be with you." Some said "Thanks," others "You, too."

I was going to find an evening service but then our daughter and the grandkids came over. I try to be a blessing to them but I showed them a trick in which the punchline is someone getting ketchup all over their hand, and it was my granddaughter who's not quite 6, and she didn't get it and cried in rage and went and sulked in the car. I am so sorry for that and I told her so, and that I love her and would never do anything on purpose to make her angry or sad. She held my hand as we walked and said, "I know." So I guess she and, of course, God, have forgiven me, but the memory still makes me cringe and feel miserable.  I wish I could let go of things that have already been forgiven.

Any responses, please e-mail me at steveandellie@hotmail.com because my internet time is limited during the week. I can quickly download e-mail and then close the connection and read it. I won't be able to cruise the site again till next weekend although I can post quickly in the early morning.

      Love you all.

      Hi, friends,

It's good to see you posting again! We've missed y'all.

Ria, where do you come up with such beautiful little poems.

Yes, we must try to find that quiet place to relax and rest in our Lord.

Yesterday was very busy for me. I went to church, ate with friends, then finished up with about 5 hours in the office with my boss. His life is so stresful right now that at one point on Friday morning, he had both his desk phone and cell phone to his ears at the same time! Poor man.

So, we met yesterday afternoon to take care of the work that I could not do on Friday afternoon since I was taking both Leslie and me to the doctor.

By the way, I only experienced a very few moments of dizziness as I first lay down last evening. After that - none throughout the night. So, I believe the treatment on Friday really helped.

By the way, I liked your "peace be with you" message. Thanks for sharing, Ellie.

      Y'all have a good day.

      Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hi everyone.  Our morning isn't going just as we had planned.  The contractor was due back to finish the work but called and said he would be several hours late (if he gets here at all today) as he has a sinus infection and said he was feeling a bit light headed.

I did go walking and for coffee but came home early so Pat could go to the "Y" to a water aerobics class.  We are expecting the "Applicance Doctor" between 10-2 to fix a problem with our refrigerator and also a problem with one of the burners on the stove.  So we wanted to have one of us here.  Then I am suppose to coach my last class for this session at the SeniorNet Computer Learning Center.

However, my daughter-in-law called a few minutes ago from the emergency room saying our son had another kidney stone and so she may need our help.  She didn't take her wheelchair as has trouble getting into the van so is risking falling while at the hospital.  So this is going to be an interesting day.

Good to see you posting Ellie and glad you will be able to check in on weekends.  Also glad to see Rachelle posting today.  It sounds like it is a busy time for a lot of people.

We had a good church service yesterday and then Pat and I went to eat alone rather than with the group as they were going to a Chinese place and Pat doesn't care for that anymore.  We got right in and got home by 1:30.  The week before it had been after 3 pm before we got home from lunch and we didn't want that again.

Ria, sorry to read the sadness in your message and to hear that your father isn't doint too well.  I know how difficult it is to watch our parents sort of go downhill with their health.  Not sure I understand all that you are telling using about the EU and the situation currently existing in your country.  Would you lose your liberty of speech if you go under the EU?  Are you saying there is a new Nazi movement growing in your country?

Karmat, are you about finished with your work dealing with the homeschoolers for this season?  Enjoy the sun up your way.  We are overcast and think that rain is moving in from Alabama later today.  I sure hope so as we need the rain.

Pat, I have really enjoyed the scriptures you have been featuring in the NEM.  These are such meaningful passages.

Jane, glad to read that things are settling down a bit in your life.  Hope we see more of you here in the days ahead as it is always good to read your postings.

Of course, I feel that way about all the postings.  Each person is important to the CP site.

Sarah, sure sorry to read that your sister is having a rough time.  Know this makes it difficult on the entire family as adds stress to the normal daily stresses of life.

A belated birthday wish to Troy and Kat.

Marilyn, I will check out your new PSP postings.  I looked at your other postings yesterday and see you are doing very nice work.

Sue, that sounds like quite a party.  Sure the young couple will appreciate the many gifts and that you gave the shower for them.

Hi to Papa John, Al, Etta Sue, Jeanne, Kathy, Chris, Sonja, Janet and Ruth Ann.  Hope I haven't missed anyone who posted since I posted yesterday.  If so, it wasn't deliberate.  Hope you all have a great day.

      Sonifo

      Good morning!

I am going to get some prints ready this week.  That might take a few hours a day to work on.

I am so glad it is summer.  Last night we went folfing and Chandrya and I took our cameras and took some pictures.  She gets so excited from the results.  We also seen some baby robins in a hole in a tree.  They were so cute.

      I'll be back later.

      Marilyn

Oops I just lost a long post to cyber space. I will try to remember what I wrote.

Yesterday after church I came home and worked on the computer making a photographic birthday card for one of the young ladies that stayed here at my house and took care of my dogs while I was in the hospital last January. Then I went to her parents house for a family gathering, dinner, a movie and fellowship.

While I was at home I went next door and weeded and watered the garden and cut some flowers to take with me.

Pat thank  you so much for the research you do each day to bring meaningful scripture messages to us. I have given a lot of thought to the ones last week. The ones you have today on faith are some that are very special to me.

Larry you are always so thoughtful to post something to each one of us. Thanks for bing such a nice person.

I posted a response to Ellie since she can't get back here until next weekend.

Rachelle so good to see you here today. Thanks for the email yesterday.

Ria I have the same questions for you that Larry asked, the situation in your country does not sound very good.

Papa John ~ You certainly do deserve a rest from responsibility.  Besides you now have a great-granddaughter who needs your attention.

Al ~ I am sure you are happy that you are semi-retired.  I can only imagine how great it feels to you to listen to someone else preach instead of preparing the sermon yourself.

Sue ~ The wedding shower sounds grand.  I read your Shortbread Cookie recipe in the 'In the Kitchen' section.  They do sound delish!

Marilyn ~ You certainly are doing great with your PSP lessons.  They can be frustrating but so rewarding when you finally 'get it'!  Your website is awesome.

      Jeanne Lee ~ Right!  I don't mind being 61 but I don't like my son being 43.

Sarah ~ It's a done deal.  Prayers are going heavenward for your sister and Domenic and all your family.

Jane ~ I have been praying for you, Sister.  Your world has been turned upside down.  It is time for it to even out now.

Pat ~ Thank you for the devotional.  I couldn't help but remember the One who gave His all for mankind.  What a gift!

Rachelle ~ I understand how busy you are in the summer with kids.  I am busy in the summer and no kids.  I love the outdoors and I haven't figured out how to take this computer outside yet.

Ria ~ Thank you for the prayer.  It covers about everything.  I will be praying for your government.

Karma ~ Make hay while the sun shines is what my mother used to say.  In other words, do all you can before TAS wakes up!!  Hi, TAS!!!

Ellie ~ I wish I knew if you were coming across Indiana on I-70.  If so, I would meet you in Greenfield...just east of Indy.  Glad you took time to 'talk' to us.

Ruth Ann ~ I am so happy to hear that the treatment helped your dizziness.  That must have been extremely traumatic...especially not knowing why.

Larry ~ When it rains, it pours.  Sounds like your day is hectic.  I am praying that everything good comes from this day for you.

Sonja ~ I can picture in my mind how exited Chandraya was in seeing the baby birds.  She is a delite.  Will we get to see some pictures of hers and yours?

Nothing much happening today...at least not planned.  Ivalou and I are going to my DIL tonight to a Pampered Chef party.  That's about it.

        Good morning.

Pat, I love that song, IF THAT ISN'T LOVE.  Thanks for sharing it with us this morning.

Al, you understand what I mean when I say I am enjoying not being under the pressures that we were under some years ago.

Rachelle, good to see you this morning.  Congratulations on your upcoming 19th anniversary Tuesday.  The first day of July Cornelia and I will celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary.

Ria, I hope the future will be good for Holland whatever the voters decide.  Sometimes it is hard to know what is best.  Whatever happens for our different countries we can be happy that our citizenship is in heaven.

Phil 3:20-21 "But our citizenship is in heaven.[/b] And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body."  (NIV)

Good to see Karmat, Ellie, Ruth Ann, Larry, Sonja, Marilyn, and Etta Sue, I hope you all have a good Monday.

In our daily Bible reading we are in the Psalms and last night we read   Ps 42:1-2 "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"  (NKJ)

      Hi Everyone...

Been busy with Avon and also helping set up the new site at Photo-Sense.

Now, I'm going to keep on going with the Avon as a lady is coming at 3:30 to pick it up.

What a lovely little poem, Ria.

      We find God more readily

Nice to see you Ellie...  That wasn't a real official list.  I was just typing names off the top of my head.  And I've seen you at Photo-Sense so I knew you were on the road.

Congratulations, Ellie for being Photo Of The Day at Photo-Sense.

Here's a link for you all to go and see her lovely photo of Abbie's Eyes.

If one dark thought a wearied mind retaineth,

For I would live that men may see thyself in me,
I would in faith ascend thy holy hill,

The whole import and substance of the Bible teaches us that the God who does not need any thing nevertheless desires the adoration and worship of His created children.

      Worship: Humbled Before God

"For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist," says the Lord. "But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word." --Isaiah 66:2

Worship also means to "express in some appropriate manner" what you feel....

And what will be expressed? "A humbling but delightful sense of admiring awe and astonished wonder." It is delightful to worship God, but it is also a humbling thing; and the man who has not been humbled in the presence of God will never be a worshiper of God at all. He may be a church member who keeps the rules and obeys the discipline, and who tithes and goes to conference, but he'll never be a worshiper unless he is deeply humbled. "A humbling but delightful sense of admiring awe." There's an awesomeness about God which is missing in our day altogether; there's little sense of admiring awe in the Church of Christ these days. Worship: The Missing Jewel, 4-5.

"I kneel before You this morning, Lord, with 'a humbling but delightful sense of admiring awe and astonished wonder.' Use me today, Lord, to stimulate within others some of this much-missing sense of 'admiring awe.' Amen."

      Chris & Margit Saunders

There is absolutely nothing that we can give God, except our true worship, honour and praise.
I often sit here in the mornings, so full of joy and thankfullness for His peace and His blessings, and say "Lord I wish there was something I could do to thank you.
Worship, true, honest worship is all that He desires.

      I'd Rather Have Jesus
I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,
      I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand.

      Chorus:
Then to be the king of a vast domain
And be held in sin's dread sway.
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
      This world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause,
      I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,
I'd rather be true to His holy name.

      (Chorus)

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom,
      He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs,
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

      I love that hymn Chris.

It is around supper time, for some you are done and others are looking forward to eat.  This will either make you hungry or stuffed depending on where you are with dinner preparations.

We were at a wedding on Saturday and her is what we ate!

First course was chicken noodle soup.  Delicious
Second course wa a salad with oil and vinegar dressing.
Third course was fish and rice pilaf.  We had 2 pieces of fish and the pieces were the size of your hand. (Fingers included!)
WE all at this point were thinking that dinner was over.  We were mistaken!
The next course was steak, parrisienne potatoes, and mixed veggies.  I couldn'[t finish!
Then there was desert. It was like a torte Dark chocolate, and a coffee, chocolate and pecan icecream with the torte!

What a meal, one I will not forget!

Oh and By the way....The bride was beautiful.   Aren't they all?

      Have a good dinner!

I love that song, Chris!  One of my favorites to sing in church.  Thanks for posting that.

      Pat

I really like that hymn Chris.  Thanks so much for that.  I also enjoyed very much the Dr. Tozer devotional.

Well, today I've spent a lot of time on the telephone with Avon.  When my order arrived, one box that had all my paper work in it like my invoice, flyers, brochures, etc. had a container of Cream Rinse open and the complete contents were spread about inside my box coating all of the other products!  What a slimy mess!

Pat, ewww...that is no good.  Was you able to read the paperwork?

The kids and I are headed to the park.  Have a good evening!

QuoteHey JEANNE!!  My youngest is 43!      But I don't feel old [much]
Jane, maybe that's because you're a lot younger than I am!  LOL

And you, too, Etta Sue.  I think I must really be the old lady here on CP.   ;D

Pat, were you able to straighten things out, clean things off, get things replaced, etc, etc.  ?  Must have been quite a mess.   :-\

Pat, I needed some of that creme rinse this morning. Used a different shampoo and brushed my short hair as usual. On the way to work, I chanced to see myself in the mirror - every little hair was standing apart from all other little hairs - I looked like I had spiked it!

So, I stopped at a small store, bought a brush and some hair spray and fixed it as well as I could.  :)

I have been "bugged" by a file that kept freezing my software for over a year. Well, this afternoon I was able to figure it out.

Now, to set about importing 13 months of data - one daily file at a time. I wonder how long that's going to take.  ???

      Y'all have a good day.
