JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Live in Christ and the flesh need not fear death.
~John Knox~

Growing in Christ...

How To Overcome The Carnal Mind

Romans 8:2-13, 37 says...

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Morning Devotional...

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:14

In this scripture there is the trinity--Christ, the Eternal Spirit, and God--all in perfect harmony, not that They were ever at variance.

Here is a harmony about the purging of sin. This had never been accomplished by the offering of blood sacrifices of bulls and of goats.

But what they could not do, the blood of Christ has done fully and eternally.

This clears us before God and allows us a place of service in the sanctuary of the Lord, for His shed blood brings us into the holiest of all.
--Reg Jordan

Cross of Christ, cross of sorrow,
where the blood of Christ was shed,
Perfect Man on thee did suffer;
perfect God on thee has bled.

Take My Life, and Let It Be
(Click to hear music)

Romans 12:1,2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Author:  Frances R. Havergal, 1836-1879
Musician:  Henri A.C. Malan, 1787-1864

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

Good Morning Everyone.

The garden and church have been priority lately.   I still am trying to decide on which tree to plant.   Hard decision because it will be for many years.  Forget me nots are almost over and now the Phlox are just starting to bloom. Also Irises and Peonies.  The Hydrangias are just starting and Roses are coming along as well.  Batchelor Buttons are everywhere.  Yarrow is about a foot tall and Hostas are getting really big.  At the back I have Bleeding Hearts and Astilbie, as well as Lilies because it is shaded.  Sedums are just starting as well as Shasta Daisies.  There are many more that I can't think of the names.    I will take a picture when they are all out and put it on CP.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

But the young in Holland there is a very great group they also call them self Nazi's also in the place where i live on Thursday evening they are in the centre they are also coming out other places and that is in hole Holland so
then there is a lot police on horses on motorbikes with dogs in cars. I only go to the library when it not others can but no more to the centre. Stones are going trough the
windows of the stores. It is terrible. But this all is coming
since the EU is started. And the older people are still no friends with the German people. But in the summer there are coming a lot to the coast. So we are never going to the coast in the summer we als want not seen them and hear them.
But by the photo's they Pat has put for me on CP there is also standing a website i don't no or you have take a look on the site it is also to read in English. And a lot young people are Skinheads. It is not more so nice in Holland

But Noah found favor in the eyes
of the Lord.

Reminds me of what God told
Jesus at His baptism--...in you
I am well pleased!
Even in the middle of a culture steeped
in sin in Noah's time, God could find the
one heart loyal to him and his family
to be a blessing and provide the world a future.
May we each be such a person in our day,
in our job, in our school, in our neigbourhood.
Can you imagine the diffirence it would ultimately
make if each of us decided to be a Noah?

PRAYER...

Loving Shepherd and Holy God,
please bless me as i seek to
passiomately live that pleases
you and brings you joy.
Please use me and my church

Ria, I have a bit of understanding about the bad feelings.

I live in the southern part of our country. About 150 years ago, there was a terrible war that divided our country. Even as a young child, I used to hear bad comments about "those *** Yankees" so I know that bitter feelings and memories from wars can last a very long time.

There are also parts on my town where I will not go at night. You are prudent when you choose the time and place to go, rather than risking danger.

Please tell Marcel I understand about working long hours. One day last week I worked from 7 am until 9 pm and then was at work the next day by 6 am. Marcel is young and I am not, so I do what I must do and trust God for the strength to do it. With his age in his favor, he will be very tired, but will later have memories of putting in long hard hours and making it through the hard times okay.

I sat in a different part of the church Sunday, and someone came during the greeting time to shake my hand asking if I am new to the church. Isn't it interesting how unknown we can be in a famliar place.

Y'all have a good day with the Lord.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Papa John

Good morning and thank you Pat for your work in getting us started each day.  As for the trivia question:
Mark 8:9-10  And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.  And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.  (KJV)

Ria, I think we understand what you are saying.  As time goes by we should do our best to forgive and realize that the generation of the war is about gone.  Paul gives us some great advice in Romans 12.

Rom 12:18  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  (NIV)

Ruth Ann, it is true that in a large congregation with new people moving in and others moving on it is hard to know everyone.  We have that problem too.  But we still work to know our church family as well as possible.

--- Old Papa John          <:))))><<

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Good Morning, I am sorry that I wasn't able to get in here last night. I had computer problems and had to do a few System Restores to get it back the way it is supposed to be.  I couldn't get into any secure sites, and wanted to balance my checkbook. What a mess.

Pat sounds like you had a real messy problem with your Avon order yesterday. Hope you are able to have them restore your paperwork.

Ria after all your country went through during and after the war, no one can lay any blame on Holland and England for being so cautios regarding the EU and the Germans.

Well I must make my breakfast before I go to work. I had a very busy day yesterday. First to Fay's then I had to pick up some meds for Bea and thake them to here. Today it is Bea's first then to Fay's.

I will be back later.  God bless you All

Good morning!  I finally got some sleep last night.  I feel pretty good.  I think I will go work out today.

Anyone got a plans for the day?

Chandraya wants to be in gymnastics this summer so I think I will go sign her up today.

I took some pictures of the some birds yesterday and got a cute picture of Lila Mae while on our walk.  If only you knew how hard it was to get a picture of this little girl you would be applauding me after you see it.  It was all luck!
Click here to see Lila Mae.  ;D

I better get going.  These days are going by fast and the kids have lots of plans for me today.

Not much going on today.  Charlene had 20 ladies at her Pampered Chef party.  It was great.  The demonstrator has been doing Pampered Chef parties for 10 years so she knows her stuff.  Very personable and funny but knowledgeable as well.  Charlene had the party for her daughter, Carol, who is getting married in October.

Tonight is an Audio/Visual Meeting at church.  Jerry and I are going.  Lots of new growth at church...lots of new technology!

Worship: Why They Act Like Idiots

You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You
created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.
--Revelation 4:11

Without worship we go about miserable; that's why we have all the
troubles we have. You wonder why young people act like such idiots.
Some young people have a lot of energy and don't know what to do
with it, so they go out and act like idiots; and that's why gangsters
and Communists and sinners of all kinds do what they do. They are
endowed by God Almighty with brilliant intelligence and an amazing
store of energy, and because they don't know what to do with it they
do the wrong thing. That's why I'm not angry with people when I see
them go off the deep end, because I know that they have fallen from
their first estate along with Adam's brood and all of us together.
They haven't been redeemed and so they have energy they don't know
what to do with; they have capacity they don't know how to use. They
have skills and don't know where to put them, and so they go wild
and police have to arrest 16-year-olds and put them in jail. If they
had been taught that they came into the world in the first place to
worship God and to enjoy Him forever and that when they fell Jesus
Christ came to redeem them, to make worshipers out of them, they
could by the Holy Ghost and the washing of the blood be made into
worshiping saints and things would be so different.  Worship: The
Missing Jewel, 8-9.

"Lord, I pray especially for young people today. In this post-modern
age there is so little emphasis on this eternal truth. Reveal
Yourself this morning to some who really need to see You and need to
see the purpose for which they came into the world. Amen."

Hi everyone and Happy Anniversary to Rachelle and Wayne.  Hope the Olive Garden was special tonight.

This has really been a busy day and I am too tired to write much tonight.  We did get the work finished here at the house and it is very nice.

Our son called this morning saying he is still hurting from the kidney stone and knows it hasn't passed.  At the ER yesterday they got the pain under control and sent him home but also told him there are two other stones that will have to be passed.

I will be back tomorrow as should have a much less hectic day.

Hello everyone --- I haven't been on the site in quite some time... been very busy with a ministry I help out with and getting a new series started, but just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Life has been hectic with shooting... I am trying to get the "Getting God's Attention" series into galleries and have a couple of prospective galleries that want to show it. I am planning a show with one of my friends for sometime in September and then I hope to bring the show on the road.

Also if you could keep my friends Josh and Tara in prayer... They were married a few weeks ago and on their way home to Colorado got into a car accident. Josh came out with a few broken bones but Tara has massive head injuries. If you could pray for them that would be great. The hardest part is that they do not have medical insurance. Josh is working part time as a youth pastor and also at Home Depot and didn't recieve insurance from either company. Tara had just graduated from Colorado Christian University with a degree in Psychology. Josh and Tara's church have set up a recovery fund to help with Tara's medical expenses.

If you would like to find out more about the accident or on how to give to Tara's medical expenses... you can go check out this website... www.tarajosh.com

Thanks for your prayers and I hope to be around more soon...

Gregg

P.S. --- Mom is doing great... She has a couple of more months in the cast as it is not healing as quickly as we would have liked but she is now hobbling around on her own... Thanks for all the prayers! (She goes in for surgery to take her pins out of her ankle in August)

Jane Walker

Oh, GREGG!  What a tragedy for your friends Josh and Tara.  I have just read all the articles about the accident and I am most assuredly praying for complete healing for Tara and a miracle for their financial and emotional healing as well!  Our God is an AWESOME God ... He can do anything but fail!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Ruth Ann Bice

It's so good to read all the messages when I come in tired from work at night.

Thanks for writing us, Gregg. Yes, that's really a tragedy - I'll ask for prayers on our prayer list.

Y'all have a good evening.

Busy day today, lots more busy days ahead.  I'm so sorry not to have been more active here, but I have not forgotten you guys.  I don't want to bore you with all the "stuff" that is my life, but I thank all you guys for being our friends.

I hope that Rachelle gets in here to see her anniversary wishes.

Maybe Rachelle and Wayne are out partying!

Well by the weather it looks like Summer is here.  Today it hit 90 degrees farenheight.   I cut the grass and was boiling hot.

I'm so glad to read that Rachelle was in to see her greetings.  For some reason, I missed seeing that earlier.

I went out to look at electric lawnmowers tonight and I'm going to go to Home Depot tomorrow and see if I can find one. I'm just finding it difficult to pull my gas one to start it and the old push mower that is older than I am is really hard on my knees.

So, we'll see what I can find tomorrow.

I was thinking that no one had attempted to answer the Bible Trivia question but I see that Papa John did and got it correct!

Now, it's time to lock the door.
