Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How To Recognize Evil

    Matthew 7:15-17, 20-23 says...

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

    Morning Devotional...

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
    Psalm 92:12

The righteous ones are those who have experienced imputed righteousness through faith.

The Bible uses two stately trees as symbols of the righteous--the palm and the cedar. Like these trees, the righteous flourish in difficult places and conditions.

The palm tree flourishes in the desert where other vegetation withers and dies. The cedar flourishes on the mountain, enduring the storms and frost. And through it all, the palm and the cedar are evergreen.

These trees are stately, durable and useful. No matter our circumstance, be it desert or storm, may we be like the palm and the cedar.

    Musician:  Thomas Hastings, 1784-1872

And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
    Exodus 25:22

From every stormy wind that blows,
From every swelling tide of woes,
    There is a calm, a sure retreat;
'Tis found beneath the mercy seat.

There is a place where Jesus sheds
    The oil of gladness on our heads;
    A place than all besides more sweet;
It is the blood bought mercy seat.

There is a scene where spirits blend,
    Where friend holds fellowship with friend;
Though sundered far, by faith they meet
    Around one common mercy seat.

There, there, on eagles' wings we soar,
    And time and sense seem all no more;
And heaven comes down, our souls to greet,
And glory crowns the mercy seat.

Oh, let my hand forget her skill,
My tongue be silent, cold, and still,
This bounding heart forget to beat,
If I forget the mercy seat!

    GALATIANS 6 : 10 NIV
    Therefore, as we have opportunity,
let us do good to all people,
especially who belong to the family of believers.

We are to be a people who do good deeds.
That's a very significant part who we are
    as Jesus followers.
So let's look for the many oppurtunities
that God places in our paths to bless others.
Let's use all of these blessings to bring God glory!

    PRAYER...
    Almighty Lord, please
give me the eyes to see
and the heart to be touched
by those around me who need
to see Your goodness and grace
    trough my compassion and concern.
In Jesus name i pray  AMEN.

HAPPY Birthday to Pat and me :)

That word love is so special and yet a word that is abused and misused, especially when one considers the great definition Paul gives us in his masterpiece found in 1 Corinthians 13.

We live in a society that is engaged primarily with materialism and a desire to surround ourselves with more and more possesions, bigger and better possesions and making more and more money at any cost.

What Paul tells us is that without love all else is useless.  Yes, we may accumulate all the trappings and "LOADSA" money but without love it counts for nothing.

That passage is one of the best known pieces of scripture being used at many weddings and funerals and yet how many of us ever stop to reflect on what Paul is saying to us and why he said it.

Well, thanks so much for your Birthday Wishes!

It's a rainy day here in Guelph.  I got my front lawn cut last night but was going to tackly the back today but it's much too wet out there.  I like this new lawnmower a lot!

Please make sure that you read Annie's post in the topic, "Annie's Father" in the prayer requests.  Annie has posted an update on her father.

      Annie

Thank you Pat.  You have a lovely web site here with some lovely people.

Happy Birthday to you, I hope this year is a good one for you.

      Hi to everyone.

      Annie

      Larry Hanna

      Hi everyone.

Judy, I bet you and Norm will enjoy those flowers during the summer.  We don't plant any outdoor flowers other than what we can have in a couple of hanging baskets on the screened in porch.  However, I do love flowers and our neighbors have some very pretty ones.

Papa John, I try to stay busy but basically pace myself to one one or two things a day.  You have several years on me and if I live to your age I am sure my schedule will be quite different.  I just try to enjoy each day that the God has allowed me here on this earth and look forward to our future home in Heaven.

Ruthie, I watched some of the processional in DC and up the capitol steps.  Sure didn't envy those troops with the duty of carrying the casket up all those steps.

Ruth Ann, what a nice gift from your daughter.  Anytime I would rather than my son come and spend some time with me than having him give me a gift.  He is always so busy that we are trying to avoid having to ask him to help us, although he always does when we ask.

Unfortunately our son is still at home waiting for the kidney stone to pass.  He is trying to work from there on his computer and with the phone.

Welcome  Nicolas to CP.  I look forward to reading and seeing your postings and those photos.  Flying around the world you must have wonderful photo opportunities.

Pat, glad your mower shopping turned out to your satisfaction.  I used an electric mower and liked it as I didn't have to fool with gasoline and oil.  The only problem is watching for the cord as it is easy to chop it in two.  Fortunately the reverisable handle lets you keep the cord to one side.  One thing you don't want to do with an electric mower is mow while the grass is wet.

      Welcome Annie to CP

Sue , we will be expecting a lot of pictures from your vacation.  Hope you have a great time and enjoy the break from your work.

Al, glad to read that your leg is slowly getting better.

Happy Birthday Pat and Backpacker1uk.  Pat, you have a year up on me but I will catch you early next year for a few months.  My Pat's BD is next month and she then catches up with me. ;D ;D

A special hi to Hi Ladybug, Karmat.

I am going with Pat in a few minutes to her eye exam and then she plans to buy some new frames as she has had these probably 10 years and feels they are very out of date, although I still like them very much and she looks nice in them.  We will probably eat a quick lunch out and then she goes to her quilters group this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Well, Troy got his drivers permit today.  We need some prayers.  I didn't realize how hard it was to stay calm while he is driving.  It is really going to take some patients and nerves to handle this next couple of months with him driving.

<Soni wonders if she was this bad of a driver>
        ;)

Chandraya had her second day of gymnastics and did pretty good.  She seems to have an act for it.

The girls, Troy and I went to the lake and Troy caught 6 turtles to sell.  He already has one sold. They are selling them for $10.00 each.

Pat and Alan, I hope you are both having a wonderful birthday today.

Welcome Annie, glad to have you aboard.

I didn't have time to read all the post but will be back later.

My computer wouldn't turn on this morning.  Yesterday, it took a couple of tries before it came on.  Today....nothing.  So I called my pc guru and left a message.  Called Charlene, his mom, and Charlene said that Kevin has intestinal flu.  But she called him on his cell phone and he said for me to unplug everything about the pc and wait 2 hours.  I didn't think that would do it but IT DID!

While waiting 2 hours, I decided to mow.  About 10 minutes into mowing it started sprinkling.  Ivalou was mowing also so we both mowed while it was sprinkling rain.  Cooler that way.  ;)  We both finished at the same time.  I must mow faster because my yard is bigger than hers.   ::)

I showered and fixed lunch and I am now trying to get caught up on the pc.

Meanwhile, I am freezing.  I do believe I need to change the temp on the A/C.
