Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How To Understand The Liberty
That Is In Christ

    Romans 8:1-2 says...

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death..

    Galatians 5:13 says...

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

    Morning Devotional...

My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.
    Psalm 5:3

Here is the wake-up call of David for the new day.

His priority was the early morning.

His passion--the Lord, must be first.

While prayer is a natural action that flows out of our need, it is also spiritual and takes patience and perseverance.

Sin has built a barrier between us and God, and there must be waiting and watching in the never-ending warfare that sin brings. Like Moses, our hands may hang down but on high our Lord lives and He alone is able to meet our need completely. Prayer is the highest use to which speech can be put.

Is my voice heard daily in heaven?
    --Les Rainey

My God, is any hour so sweet
from blush of morn to evening star,
As that which calls me to Thy feet,
    the hour of prayer?
    Elliott

    PSALM 27 : 1

    The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    whom shall i fear?
    The Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall i be afraid.

"The Lord is my my light and my salvation."
Here is personal interest, "my light," "my salvation;" the
soul is assured of it, and therefore declares it boldly.Into the soul at the new birth divine light is poured as the precursor of salvation; where there is not enough light
to reveal our own darkness and to make us long for the
Lord Jesus, there is no evidence of salvation.
After conversion our God is our joy,
comfort, quide, teacher, and in every sense our
light: He is light within, light around, light reflected
from us, and light to be revealed to us.
Note, it is not said merely that the Lord gives light,
but that He is light; nor that He gives salvation, but
that He is salvation; He, then, who by faith has laid hold upon God, has all covenant blessings in His possession.
This being made sure as a fact, the argument drawn
from it is put in the form of a question,
    "Whom shall i fear?"
A question which is its own answer.
The powers of darkness are not be feared, for the Lord,
our light, destroys them; and the damnation of
hell is not be dreaded by us, for the Lord is our
    salvation.
This is a very different challenge from that of boastful
Goliath, for it rests, not upon the conceited vigour of
an arm of flesh, but upon the real power of the
    omnipotent I AM.
"The Lord is the strength of my life."
Here is a third glowing epithet, to show that the
writer's hope was fastened with a treefold cord
    which could not be broken.
We may well accumulate terms of praise where the Lord
    lavishes deeds of graces.
    Our life derives all its strenth from God;
and if He deigns to make us strong, we cannot be weakened by all the machinations of the adversary.
"Of whom shall i be afraid?"
The bold question looks into the future as well as the present.
    "If God be for us,"
who can be against us, either now or in time to come?

I know that CTRL + A is copy ALL,  CTRL + C is COPY and CTRL + V is PASTE.  But is there a code for CUT???

What a gloomy day.  The dusk to dawn lights are on and it is 8:30 a.m.  At least, it wasn't raining when I took the trash to the road but it has been raining ever since.  The grass is getting high.  Oh, well.  I am saving gas by not mowing.

Small groups was wonderful...10 out of 12 of us were there.  The hostess's husband is a cabinet maker.  He built in their entertainment center that was awesome with a huge plasma flat screen TV in the center.  Solid oak.  No wonder he is a cabinet maker.  Great work.  They are the couple that adopted a little girl from Russia a little over a year ago.  Stacia was 2 in March.  A beautiful little blond haired little girl.  But she doesn't speak Russian  ::)

Jerry and I stopped at WalMart after our meeting and then I took him home.  I didn't get home until after 11 p.m.  I always have to unwind after Bible study so I read the newpaper and petted the girls.  Why does cats like to lay on newspapers????  Hunh?

    Hi everyone.

Etta Sue, the control plus "x" is a shortcut for the cut function.  If you forget just click on the "Edit" menu and it shows the control + shortcuts to the right of the menu selections.  We are having a rainy day down this way and it rained again during the night.

I read the hometown newspaper on the web each day and yesterday it showed a sickening site of a corn field with all the stalks broken over from a terrible hail storm.  The county has been declared a disaster area.  The midwest is really having some terrible storms and tornados.

I did get up and go walking this morning and then to coffee at the cafe.  Following that we stopped at the produce stand of our friend who has two very large gardens and got some freshly picked sweet corn, peppers and cucumbers.  Good eating ahead.

Marilyn, glad things went well for you at Bea's although sorry to read that she was not feeling well.

Al, you are certainly right in that we are all ministers.  I really hadn't tought of things in those terms.  I just got lucky with my "august" comment. :D

Janet, sure sorry to hear of the futher problems that Beth is having walking.  Know this can be a very difficult trip for her but hope she makes it ok.

Margrit, enjoy your weekend away at the Lake District.  That was a very nice gift.

Welcome to Woodenshoe50.  I also look forward to seeing your photos and learning more about you and your family.

Ria, it seems you have been having a lot of cold weather over your way.  Hope the painting is going well and that you are feeling better.

I have lots of things I want to accomplish today so won't ramble on.

    Carol

It is a cloudy and damp day here - very welcome for a change.

Hi Marilyn!  You did the right thing in not driving to pick up the young man - sometimes you just have to say "No" and this was right.  It sounds like everything is working out well for you otherwise, I am so glad.  Take care.

Pat:  Missing you today as you go to Toronto.

Jeanne:  I voted on one picture and then got lost somehow - nice site.  Is there any way to put a name on the pictures, or, did I miss that?

    I Sought the Lord
    (Click to hear music)

    Author:  Author Unknown
    Musician:  George W. Chadwidk

I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
He moved my soul to seek Him, seeking me.
    It was not I that found, O Savior true;
No, I was found of Thee.

    Thou didst reach forth Thy hand and mine enfold;
I walked and sank not on the storm vexed sea.
'Twas not so much that I on Thee took hold,
As Thou, dear Lord, on me.

I find, I walk, I love, but oh, the whole
Of love is but my answer, Lord, to Thee!
For Thou were long beforehand with my soul,
    Always Thou lovest me.

    Hi Everyone!

Kind of tired tonight.  Been to Toronto and back and just would like to go to bed!

I'm making up our drug bill tonight...so I'll just pop in here for a few minutes. ;)

Pat - what did you do in Toronto today?  How was the traffic on Hwy 401?  Norm drove that highway for 30 years before he decided to retire.  Of course, the traffic wasn't as bad then as it is now.  :o

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but my daughter broke her arm at work.  I broke my arm due to osteoporosis, and our grandson, broke his finger playing soccer.  There, thats the 3 of us, all with casts!! ::)

Sure looks like rain out there, I'll check back in here later.

Hello, how is everybody?  Is Mieka back?  The rain's finally stopped here in the West Kootenay, now it's sunny and pretty.  Boy do they grow stuff around here!!!  Roses, many other flowers, fruit trees, all sorts of other trees, it's really green around here - the green is lighter in colour than the green of Ontario.  It's a very beautiful shade of green.

    Take care all,

    Ursula

    Marilyn

Hey Ursula, take photos of allof Gods beauty around you. We want to see your area.

Long day here, I got home from work at 3:15 a message on the machine told me to come to Blue Lake for a birthday party for Savannah. She is 8 now and we had a nice time I took photos and when I get them out of my camera I will post them.

Judy just how is Norm doing?

Pat I know you are tired and I hope you had a nice day.

My new/old client, Gloria will be going to church at my church on sunday and to the Salmon feed we are having Saturday. She is very interested in attending church. Praise the Lord. I knew she would be thrilled to go again now that her health is so much better than it was a year ago.

Thank you Pat for the devotional on prayer.  I know it is so important.  I hope you are not too exhausted from driving all the way to Toronto and back.  I will let you rest tonight.

The weather is wonderful here in Toronto, Canada.  Just about perfect.  Around 74 F.

Everyone have a wonderful day tomorrow and God Bless.

Well, I for one am exhausted from hangin' wallpaper all day.  Gettin' too old to be climbin' up and down a step-ladder.  Cuttin' patterns I can do.

Monday, I worked the school elections a 14 hr day...very little pay....

Stayin' up watching the Pistons and having to get up early...well, early for me.  Gonna sleep in tomorrow morning.

Hi Ursula!  Glad you could stop in and say hi.  Do you have any pictures of your area so we can see too? hehehe... ;-)

Ewwww...wallpaper and ladders and not good together, Eddie!

    I am off to bed.

    Nite folks.

    Ruth Ann Bice

Al, your message about sleeping late and being thankful was right on target for this day. I resolved several issues at work today that required lots of piecing together little fragments of things that finally went together and helped me figure out what was going on.

I believe as I leave to go to Cleveland tomorrow, I'll be going feeling a bit more knowledgeable than before. And, as a friend told me tonight, God is on your side - after all, He created you and gave you the ability to scope things out and the persistence to keep on trying.

At any rate, as soon as I read your note, Al, I said a quick "thank you" to God and will try to remember your suggested prayer - I get awfully tired and seem to sleep late a lot (even if I go to bed as early as 8:30 or 9 the previous night).

I'm not certain, but I think it's probably a combination of "age" and "mileage" on this old body. I imagine my nearly 64 year old body has maybe rolled over the odometer!  ;)

    Y'all have a good day.
