Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Trusting His Wisdom

Philippians 2

Shining as Stars

12.)Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13.)for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
14.)Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15.)so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe

A college teacher once said, "People of good character will do what is honest and right,  even when the think no one is looking.  Be true to yourself.  In other words, it's what's inside that counts!"

Paul commended the believers at Philippi for obeying and faithfully serving God even when he was not present to encourage them.

The Bible teaches God is love.  As it was with the Philippians, we should obey God out of love, not out of the fear that someone other than God is watching us.  Then as God works in us we become as lights shining in a world darkened by sin.

Count the ways your life shines as a light for the world.  Does your light resemble a candle or a floodlight?  Are chhages needed in the brightness of your light?

Father, let my life be a beacon for You in a dark world.
Make me a light for You in my church and community

You're doing great Soni!

I do believe it is about time for bed.  nite all!

Have an awesome wEdnesday.

Jane Walker

Hey there all y'all ...  :D   I have been quite involved in correspondence with my daughter Joy (in Mexico).  She and her husband John are leaving tomorrow (today??) to drive north ... first to California and a visit with John's folks and other friends then on to Oregon and me then on to Ft. Lewis, Washington to see Bryan!  They are taking his truck to him and will stop by here to pick up his grandma on the way.  I am really looking forward to seeing "my guy Bry" and he is anxious to see his grandma too so that makes it a mutual admiration society, I guess.  :P

Also, today a group of us have planned to get together for a reunion/picnic for the remnant from our church (which has been closed).  We want to keep the fellowship alive and nurture friendships that have been formed over the years.  I am looking forward to a great time of fellowship and fun ... I'll let y'all know how it goes, okay?

Y'all take care now, y'heah???  See y'all latah ....  :P
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

A college teacher once said, "People of good character will do what is honest and right,  even when they think no one is looking.  Be true to yourself.  In other words, it's what's inside that counts!"

So very true Soni.  As Christians we care and help each other without seeking financial gain.  For it is within that goodness lies.

I would like to thank you all for your kind words at the ending of a friendship to a Lady who I thought was so kind and loving.  I now found out she was untruthful in most of the things she said.

With being honest and truthful.  Ok as a child you would tell your mother you never took the other scone out of the tin.

But as a mature adult to lie and decieve a person who you know is falling in love with you is so hurtful.

Today is a new day and the sun is shining!  The birds are singing.

Yesterday is history and a new page unfolds.

Sadly the digi camera is broken.  Probaly bent the pins inserting the memory card incorrectly.  Anything expensive and it will be a new Canon.

Any reccomendations??

Best wishes to all.  Alan

Good morning, friends.

Just a cheery hello as I scoot out the door. I hope this day will be a good one for all.

Soni:  Thank you for reminding us to focus on our light - we must keep the light shining in the darkness.  People look to our demeanor - how we cope throughout the many trials.

Pat S:  I am hoping that you have a working computer soon.  My oldest son always tells us to get rid of one when there are too many problems - but he is more impatient than we are about these things.  ;D

Larry:  I am wishing you a good journey.

Good Morning Everyone. It is good to be alive for another day here on this wonderful earth that God has created. I am thankful that He has given me eyes that can still see, ears that still hear. Feet and legs that take me where he wants me to go  and hands and arms to reach out and be His hands extended. I pray that today He will  show me how I can be a blessing to Him for He has blessed my abundantly and beyond anything I could possible ask or even think.

I am taking Gloria to DMV today to get her eye test so she can get her liscense. She has had cataract surgery on both eyes this year.

I am actually going to wear a dress during the week. Ha I haven't done that in quite awhile. I am usually in pants for work. But since we are going aout and about today I thought it would be nice.

May our God bless each and every one of you!  It's cool and kind of gloomy here on the W. Coast - a kind of high fog that's been here for several days.  It's quite common this time of year.  But to see the sun we can turn to the SON!
I had to go to the vampire to have some blood drawn for the lab to analyze yesterday, and today I go to the wound care center to have this compression wrap taken off and compression stocking put on.  Actually, I bought the stockings yesterday.  They're $42/pair, but they gave me a full refund on the pair I'd bought earlier because of a hole - they're not supposed to develop holes.  So I got the new ones for only about $19.  We're trying, though, to keep the driving to a minimum around here (at $2.35/gallon), and it was clear across Eureka to get the stockings.
Our pastor was here Friday and yesterday to build a new deck for the side entrance to our mobilhome, and it's turned out very, very good and much easier to use. And then another brother showed up to cut the lawn, trim things, etc. yesterday also.  Praise our God for His people!

Janet

Good morning!  I didn't go swim today because yesterday there were so many people there I had to sit and wait for a space to swim, and I am going to the funeral of a friend today.  This dear lady was very heavy, and had some health problems.  But she had a wonderful attitude, and came to the pool almost every day to exercise in the water.  She used a walker that has a seat on it, and I visited with her about it, because we would like to find one like that for Beth.  Anyway, my sister and I are going to her service at 10 this morning.

Tonight we are invited to Hugoton to dinner.  It is a send-off for grandson Curtis who is leaving in the morning for Boot Camp.  He is attending college on an Air Force ROTC scholarship and this is the summer for him to go.  It will only be four weeks, but we will really miss him!  Also, it will be so good to see his brother Mark again.  I haven't seen him for over two weeks, because he went to aviation camp (won the top pilot award!!) and then the next week to Boys' State.

I hope you are all being blessed with all good things in the name of Jesus!

Hi Everyone...

I'm at my neighbour's home and she's even given me a coffee!

I might be meeting my brother for lunch.  Not sure as he left a message on my phone last night while I was at my grandson's graduation and haven't spoken to him since.

Al, I'm sorry about your legs.  Those stockings are a bit less expensive than Jack's were.  His were $86.00 but were covered by our medical plan.  So that wasn't too bad.  They are made in Germany.  But they sure helped Jack when he wore them.

I am so happy that you are carrying on with the NEM, Soni.  I hope that by tonight my computer will be fixed but no guarantees.

Sonja ~ I really don't think my CD-RW is installed correctly.  When I try to 'burn', a window pops up that I don't have a CD in the drive and I do.  I won't let me do anything else so have to close.

Nards ~ I bet Travis can play beautiful music on the piano.  Does he have your talent with the piano?  Does Karma play the piano also?  Thanks for the info about Nero.  Read what I wrote for Sonja.  This is the same Nero that I had in the old pc and it worked then but I don't remember how I did it.  I have printed out the guidelines and that should help but no matter what I do, it won't burn.  Everything works fine, I have the folders ready to burn.  When I open E drive, the folders are there. When I click on 'Write these files to CD', it tells me to 'Insert a writable disc to continue'  'There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a writable CD into drive E:\.'  Something in the E drive isn't working right.  Sorry to bug you about this after all the stress in your job.  (Take a vacation and come up and fix my E drive... ::) ::))  Also sorry to use this forum for this type of discussion.

Larry ~ That is what I was talking about to Nards...everything you said about .jpg files, I do.  Drag and drop and then the E drive show they are ready to write.  When I click on the 'Write these files to CD' (and I do have them highlighted), it then tells me to insert a writable disc to continue.  I do believe I need my guru that built my pc.

Jane ~ Sounds like you have some great events to look forward to.  Friends and family.

Al ~ I remember those stockings.  Mom was to wear them to keep swelling down due to congestive heart failiure.  No way could she have put them on herself and even Ivalou and I had to work together to get them on her.  Then you would watch and they would roll back down.  So we told the doctor that we refused to use them.  They were like a weapon to Mom.  When they rolled they cut off the circulation and she was much worse.

Pat ~ Sorry about your pc.  I know you depend so much on it.  Hopefully you will be surfing the web again soon.

Etta Sue, what program are you using to burn your CDs?

I use Roxio.

Nero but I think I am convinced it isn't installed correctly.  Something is amiss!

Sonifo

Good morning, folks!

Etta Sue, did you install it?  I wonder if you could take the back off and make sure everything is properly installed.  My printer did that a few years back because I didn't install the thing  ::) in the back right.  Hope you figure it out.  I know how badly you need that, because I use mine at least twice a week.

Pat~that is so nice of your neighbor to let you use her computer.

I sure miss Ria again, but know that she isn't going to be on today.  I will be looking forward to her coming back tomorrow.

Hi Janet!  Curtis is going off to bootcamp.  I bet you wish it was potty training bootcamp.  ;) ;D  I bet you will be missing him.  I hope you have a wonderful time tonight.

Al, that was real nice of your Pastor to build that deck.  He must be a real good carpender.  <soni is wonder what it would look like if she took a go at it> LOL...hahhahahaa....

Thanks Carol...I am glad you enjoyed the devotional.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

I better get going.  Lots to do today.
Soni

Etta - sorry I didn't offer any intelligence last night; to be honest, I forgot.  Our schedule shifted around a little bit and I got into some other things and forgot.  It does sound like there's either a hardware problem or Nero doesn't recognize your drive correctly.  Are you trying to use CD-R discs or CD-RW?  Either should work, but they will work differently most of the time.

Overslept this morning and have been terribly tired, but I'm in a better mood today.  It's frustrating having to continually fight mood swings that are really the fault of not resting enough.  I wish sleep wasn't necessary...  there are so many other fun things to do in life! :)

I hope all of you have a great day!

Soni - our pastor is indeed a good carpenter!  In fact, he's probably better than most professionals.  He is a woodworker in the fullest sense of the word.  When he's done you can look very carefully at the finished product and you find that every piece fits perfectly, there are no gaps, every corner is rounded, and it looks great!  He did that kind of work before he became the pastor, and he still does some, though he's limited by a broken disc in his spinal collumn.  He's experiencing pain almost all the time.  Pray for Derk - he's the Lord's servant.

HI everyone.  It will soon be noon but I have just gotten back from a busy morning.  Went walking at the "Y", had coffee, got a haircut, filled the car up with gas (it was $1.66 a gallon today) and then to the grocery store.  Then I got the suitcases out of storage, shucked the sweet corn I had gotten at my friends produce shop, unloaded the dishwasher and now have time for the computer.  I am sure that is interesting to everyone but that is what happens in my life.  :D

Fortunately I have nowhere else that I need to go today and we are expecting more showers.  Yesterday we had some heavy rains and lightning.

We had a wonderful meal and evening of conversation with our friends, who had invited us over.  We then stopped at our son's home to dropoff a couple of things.

Pat, do hope that the young man will be able to get your computer fixed this evening.  Nice that your neighbor lets you use hers so you can check in.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you have the process down and that there is equipment failure with the CD-RW.

Janet, sorry to read of the loss of your friend.  You might check with the family a little later as they probably would be happy to sell you the walker with the seat.  I know my sister and I still have some of the medical equipment that my folks used and would like to sell it.

Al, I remember having to wear those compression hose after my heart surgeries and just how great they felt on my legs.  At the time I remember thinking I would always have some type of compression in them but fortunately don't need them and haven't worn then again for a number of years.  Do hope your legs are a lot better.  Your new deck sounds wonderful.  Glad your friends are helping you with the things you cannot do for yourself at this time.

Jeanne, at least this time of year one doesn't freeze when they get in a rain storm.  It sounds like you had a very nice rain.  Hope your work week is going well.

Papa John, based upon my limited time around my ministers I can certainly understand that they have a very stressful job.  I will never forget one of our pastors arriving at my hospital bed around nine pm after a long day.  I really appreciated it but wished she wouldn't have been out so late.  Another of our ministers came to visit in the afternoon and when he found out I was going into the cath lab later that evening and the doctor was concerned whether I would make it through without another heart attack he stayed and prayed with my wife and family until the procedure was over.  He had a meeting to attend that evening but said his staying with my family was much more important than attending another meeting and they could get along without him.

Alma, great to see you joining in and sharing with us.  It sounds like you have had lots of experience in the healthcare field and obviously are a wonderful and caring caregiver.  It looks like you are picking up computer usage very well.

Marilyn, have you thought of getting a little pull cart for your purse?  ;D ;D  Sounds like you need one.  Your camera must be quite heavy.

Ladybug, Ria, Ursula, Carol and Ruth Ann, good to see you all posting.

Sonja, thanks for the devotional today and locking up last evening.  Know your summers are a busy time with your family but we do appreciate your efforts here with your extended CP family.  Please say hi to your boys from me as I miss seeing their postings.

Nards, glad you got some needed rest last evening.  It is amazing what rest will do for our attitudes.  Hope you have a smooth day at work.

Pat is fixing me a hamburger for lunch (I usually fix my own lunch so this is a treat).  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Liz

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for doing such a good work, Sonja, and keeping us all on the 'air'.

Sorry you folks are having so many sick computers.  I have a Sony RX730 and it mostly behaves.  With Windows XP it is really easy to burn CD's and easy to re-format them when required.  Totally lost with all the talk about strange programs!  When I have a glitch, do a Windows error check and fix...seems to clear things up great!  Also use Win Cleaner regularly to get rid of garbage.  Plus that Spy thing to frustrate the intruders.  Norton's keeps me clear of virus and firewall problems and the Spam has all but disappeared.  I don't use Windows Message thing and took it off, it caused problems.  As did the MSN one....but I am not a chatty person and would probably only tramp on someone's toes...... ???

Posted a couple of pictures and hope they are of interest.  I am not doing anything exciting, so neither are the photo's.  Having trouble with my legs and still trying to find out the reason.  Kind of a bummer for someone who loves to walk and be extra active.  Guess that God has His reason for this little glitch on my screen.

Going to Farmer's Market with Wendy in a bit.  Larry, you asked if it is produce grown and sold by the farmers.  This is grown by the market, tho' they do use local produce.  We have two markets that compete privately on Sat. in the downtown area.  Lots of good things there, but pricey.  For years they shared a site, then came a war over something, now they are across from each other, renting two places!  Silly people.

Long post and must close.  Read a cute blurb this morning:

'Diplomacy is the art of letting someone else have your way'.

God Bless,
Liz

GOOD MORNING TO ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST!!

What a Wonderful day the Lord has given us. I am so excited about seeing all of you this morning on the site.
I started  my morning out with Joyce Meyers on the christian station, then I had time to make coffee, get Cheryl her pills and changed. I have 2 pom puppies that must potty at 7:00 am sharp. At 6 and 5 months old they do good to wait until than. Than I go out back to feed our horses and make sure the chickens and geese have fresh water for the day. Also we have 4 large dogs that need tending to.
Now with coffee at hand I am here. First I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for the wonderful WELCOMING and all your help on the site. I spent alot of time on it yesterday learning my way around. I still have lots of questions.
Pat, I PRAY you get your computer fixed soon , I know I spend alot of time on mine. Thank you for your kind letters and help.
Soni, Again wonderful words this morning. I always enjoy the word of God, to be able to share with my friends makes it all the stronger in my life.Thank you also for your kind letter. I would still like to know more about those sites. I did get some of my photos on a site named photosense maybe I could use that. Please fill free to email me about this, as I am excited to go forward in my photography also.
Alan, My prayers are over you. I am so sorry a person hurt you, notice I did not say LADY, That title comes with alot  of things and unhonesty is not one of them. After a HORRIBLE divorce 4 years ago, I was broken in every way, phyisally, mentally, spiritually and the LORD GOD healed me. He brought to me the most KIND, LOVING, SPIRIT FILLED, GOD FEARING, GOD LOVING MAN .
God Bless you  Alan.
Janet, Thank you so much for all your help getting started.  My prayers are over you and your family  as you spend a little time with Curtis  before he gose to boot camp. God Bless the young people who see the need to become a part of our armed forces.
Larry, My prayers are over you as you go through your mediacl issues.  Ted hose are very expensive. You got a good deal on them. Also they work wonderful. God Bless you.
Well I havve talked u-alls heads off. So I'll close this for now. IN JESUS LOVE, ~ALMA
ABOVE ALL PUT ON LOVE..

Papa John

I am just dropping in for a minute this afternoon.  I have been busy writing some letters and talking on the phone as well as watching a little news on TV.

Cornelia has gone shopping with our daughter Rachel, and granddaughter Rebekah.

So I am just taking it easy this afternoon.  I am going to read my book for awhile and maybe take a little nap.

Larry, you are right when you observe the stress that ministers have.  But it is very rewarding.  And now I am enjoying retirement and I think I have really learned how to relax.

Larry It isn't that my camera is too heavy but with the camera, cell phone and allthe other stuff it is too heavy. When I take out the camera and the cell phone it mankes a big difference, and those are the two things I don't want to be without.

Hello Everyone:
Its been a few days since I have been on C.P., and I do want to say a special hello to Alma.  I am so glad you have found your way here, and trust you will find your way around to the many other sites in here.

Be sure to check the "Kitchen" corner....we do need some new recipes, and I must try and contribute to that as well myself!

Today I took our Youth Pastor's wife out for lunch.  This young couple is leaving our church for a Pastoral call to a Mennonite church in Chilliwack British Columbia.  We are certainly going to miss them.  Jackie and my daughter Karen, grew up together,.....I have known her most of her life.  She is such a beautiful Christian girl.

Soni - you are doing a great job with NEM!

Here is a letter that I got from Margit today. Please pray for our Chris.

Dear Marilyn,

we have faced a bit of trouble.  Chris, bless his heart, bought me a CD
Writer for my birthday
and got "burned " trying to install it, it messed up the computer, messed up
the AntiVirus, etc. and we occupied his computer with related instruction retrieved
high and low from the internet.  Well, the Writer is in now, something is still missing,
to be yet installed but all else is well again.

Moreover, we departed from this ugly scene and left for the Lake District
over the weekend.  This was a gift from the kids here for my birthday and
I decided to take Chris along, it was Father's Day and after all, he's the
father of many.:-)

It is a great place to visit, much tourism, but so much beautiful
scenery and not
all under foot of tourists.  So much of God's beautiful creation,
some of the most beautiful lakes, hills,
valleys, rivers and mountains and of course communities.
Visited poet Wm. Wordworth's retreat and came close to
Beatrice Potter, a renowned children's author, also from this area.
Had a great time and I've enclosed just one of the shots Chris took.

Last night we toured the  Mercy Ship Anastasis.

m_objectid=14344017&method=full&siteid=50061&headline=mercy
-ship-that-s-saved-countless-lives-in-africa-name_page.html

It's something I had wanted to do for a long time, the ship
had docked in Reedsport, Oregon years ago and I missed it,
then again on the east England coast last year and we missed it
there too.  It was interesting but much, most, was geared to
solicit new volunteers, especially teachers, that was the main
aim last night.  Neither of us qualifies there but I'm glad we both
got a sense of what it takes to be commited to such a task,
whether for a short period or long term.

Thanks for asking, we'll be back at some point.

God bless.

Margit

Hi folks...

I might be back.  Heiko just left.  Poor fellow was just back at about noon today from Montreal and he leaves in the morning for Vancouver.  He had never seen such a mess in my Windows registry.  It appears that a hacker got in and did lots of damage but it seems to be working now for me.  He's suggested that I get a router since I'm online so much and then this will be something that can block something like that.

Anyway, Thanks so much to Soni for looking after the shop while I've been sitting on my neighbour's doorstep!  LOL    I've given her a gift of some Avon products.

Thanks for sharing Margit's letter Marilyn.  When putting in a link that's long, it's usually best to use the method of "Click Here" sort of thing so that the URL is hidden.  That will always work.  Sometimes there's a problem when URLs are long and some make people have to scroll sideways.  I'll change your URL as I do have to scroll for yours.

I've missed about you going to Colorado, Larry.  When are you going and for how long?  We'll miss you.

I know that I've missed lots and lots.  I'm sorry if I've not replied to someone but if I haven't, please ask again.

I've put a nice profile photo up for Woodenshoe (Tom) and it's really nice to see.

Now, Alma, we'll have to get yours by your name.

Talk to you later, and again, "Thanks Soni"!

As you all know, we have a great Private Message system on our site.

To access your Private Messages, click on the word "messages" up at the top right and that will take you to your own private INBOX.

This is where you reply to any Private Message that another member sends to you.

You will receive an Email Notification saying that you have a PM but if you reply to that email, you'll see on the "TO" line the address christian_photographers@rogers.com and that's my address and the address of the site so I'll get your reply and the person you meant to send the reply to won't get it.

While I'm speaking about Private Messages, this might be a great time to remind everyone to keep your Private Message INBOX cleared out as this all takes room on the data base and while you're deleting from your INBOX, don't forget your OUTBOX.  I seem always to forget to clear out my OUTBOX messages
.

Here's a hymn that I've not heard the words of before.  It's really lovely.

Softly Now the Light of Day
(Click to hear music)

God turns my darkness into light.
Psalm 18:28

Words: George W. Doane, 1824

Music: "Seymour," from the opera Oberon,
by Carl M. von Weber, 1826;
Henry W. Greatorex published it as a hymn tune in 1851

Softly now the light of day
Fades upon my sight away;
Free from care, from labor free,
Lord, I would commune with Thee.

Thou, Whose all pervading eye
Naught escapes, without, within,
Pardon each infirmity,
Open fault, and secret sin.

Soon for me the light of day
Shall forever pass away;
Then, from sin and sorrow free,
Take me, Lord, to dwell with Thee.

Thou Who, sinless, yet hast known
All of man's infirmity;
Then, from Thine eternal throne,
Jesus, look with pitying eye.

I needed this site for my soul lately.
It has been a lovely day. I got all the flowers watered and animals fed. All I have left is to feed Cheryl, change her and put her to bed at 8:00, Than I have the rest of the evening to read my Bible lesson,  finish up a few small chores and call my mom back.
Father, God, I ask in your blessed sons name that you Bless all my wonderful new friends, father you know each hair on every ones head and so you know all of there prays and petitions. Father you said in John  15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down his life for his friends.and 15:15 ends with "But I have called you friends".
Lord, Bless these wonderful folks who have welcomed me in and called me FRIEND. I come to you in the ONLY name of JESUS.~ALMA

Well, Alma, you've certainly endeared yourself to our little group here.

It seems as if you've been a part of CP for a long time.

Now, about your profile photo... May I upload the one you have on Photo-Sense and put it by your name on here?
