Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

How To Handle Stress

    John 14:27 says...

    Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

    [/list]

      Philippians 4:6-8 says...

      Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

      And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

      Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

      Morning Devotional...

      But he seemed as one that mocked (joked).
      Genesis 19:14

      When Lot tried to warn his sons-in-law of God's impending judgment, they thought he was joking!

      Why? Because of the way he was living. An important man of this world, Lot's job and position seemed to mean more to him than God's blessings.

      Consequently his life indicated to these young men that eternal values were not important!

      Tragically when they heard eternal truth from such a man, they couldn't believe it and were destroyed when the judgment fell, while Lot himself lost everything he had been living for!

      What is my family learning from the way I am living my life?
      --David Croudace

      Jesus has set the example,
      dauntless was He, true and brave;
      Give Him your loyal devotion,
      give Him the best that you have.

      A very early Good Morning to All: :)

      I'm just popping in to say hi... and hopefully I will be able to sleep in a bit.  I have had several sleepless nights, ...thank goodness for this computer....it beats "counting sheep"!

      Marilyn - thank you for the link pertaining to the article Liz was talking about, regarding a "new" bible.  As Janet said, I sure wouldn't want to be in that person's shoes at the judgement seat. :-[

      Pat - You are so right....we must pray that the Lord will keep us strong, and unwavering in our faith.  Satan is alive and well these days, isn't he. :'(

      I'm glad your dog seems to be coming along Marilyn.  How old is he now?

      Our new neighbours moved in across the street.  It looks to be a single parent with two teenage children.  I haven't had a chance to go across to welcome them yet. hopefully will do that sometime this weekend.  I have seen two dogs as well. :o

      I miss the former neighbours; both husband and wife passed away within one year.  We were neighbours for over thirty years. ::)

      Well, I will now have a mug of warm milk, and hopefully a good night's sleep., and I hope all of you do as well!

      - Judy M.

      PS - Judy B....I am missing YOU! :)

      WHAT  JESUS  DID!

      MARK 9 : 41 (NLT)
      "If anyone gives you even a cup of water
      because you belong to the Messiah, I assure you,
      that person will be rewarded."

      The kidness Jesus expects and rewards in His
      followers is very simple.
      God doesn't forget kidness that is demonstrated
      with actions that are simple and real.
      When we are kind to other believers or
      they are kind to us, God sees, remembers,and rewards!
      Of course Jesus didn't want us to limit our
      kindness to other believers and He also wanted His
      followers to give unbelievers an oppertunity to share
      their kindness with them as well.
      Simple acts of kindness by Jesus followers
      may be simple, but they are also a genuine
      reflection of their Lord's kidness and compassion
      that were shared with all sorts of people.

      PRAYER...
      Father, thank You for sending
      Jesus who makes Your way of
      life so simple and clear.
      Thank You for remembering acts
      of kidness.
      Thank You for those
      who have demonstrated that
      kindness to me and to Your Son
      through their kidness to me.
      Please Bless them.
      In Jesus name. AMEN.

      Bye love Ria

      Do not be terrified;
      do not be discouraged,
      for the Lord your God will be
      with you wherever you go.

                              BESIDE  ME

      Hi everyone.  Just a quick note this morning as have lots of little details I want to accomplish today as we make final preparations for our trip.  I am trying to get everything on my laptop that I will need since I usually do my webwork here on my desktop in my office.

      Ria, glad to hear that you finally have some sun and that you have a good weekend planned.  Hope you enjoy the outing.

      Marilyn, hope Happy Dog is feeling much better this morning.

      Pat, thanks for the fine devotional.  Part of the scripture was included in my morning devotionals this morning so it sounded very familar.

      Sarah, glad to see you back.  You have a very busy life.

      Judy, hope you find you have great new neighbors.  We are blessed with good neighbors here where we live.

      It is about time for coffee so better sign off for now.

      Pat

      Good Morning Everyone!

      What a busy day I have ahead of me!

      I have to be in Brampton for 2 pm for the Anniversary Gathering of close friends of mine (50th Wedding Anniversary) and then back to just east of Guelph to my son's home for a surprise Retirement BBQ for Andrew's father-in-law.

      Then tomorrow afternoon is the Guelph Hiking Trail Club Pot Luck away out at Erin and then south to a lovely country home.  And then the Federal Elections are on Monday.

      So, if I'm scarce, that's why!

      Larry, I'll be looking forward to your checking in while you're away.  I do hope that you have a wonderful time.

      Sarah, great that you had a good time at camp.

      How's the painting going, Ria?  What a lovely verse!

      QuoteNo on this earth we shall never find peace, but when Jesus comes back then shall there be peace and He shall
      dry all our tears they we have on this earth

      It are awesome words from the Lord.

      How I long for that day when all of our tears are wiped away.

      Judy McK, sorry you didn't sleep well again but so happy that you can come and find things to read in CP when you are "sleepless in Guelph"!

      It is cloudy, misty and cool again here today, and I'm glad, because that sort of weather will give the sod grass a better chance of survivial.  I have been out to water it and check it over already, and wished I had put on a light jacket!

      Ria, I am so happy you have some sunshine in your world today!  Have a nice outing.

      Larry, Beth is on her way to John's home in Utica, New York with him for three weeks.  They have an idea in mind for her to move there, so they will be looking for an apartment for her.  I am not in favor of it, because she will be leaving family, friends, and her support group she has here, and there she has only John and his family.  They all like Beth and say they will help her, but promises are easy to say and sometimes hard to live.  She will be needing more and more care and help, unless the proposed surgery in August makes a great difference.  Anyway, Beth will be at John's mother's house while in NY, and I hope they enjoy their time together.

      Pat, don't stress yourself out with all those activities, and remember to have a good time!  Just joking, I know you will enjoy yourself, and you will be missed here.

      I have an even longer list of errands today, as I didn't get any of them done yesterday because of the sod job and painting class.  One of my ladies who has missed about 6 weeks because of a fall, was back yesterday, and it was so nice to have her back.

      Marilyn, I hope Happy Dog is living up to his name again now.  We are dog and bird sitting for Beth while she is away.

      Hi there, Judy Mc!  How are you feeling this morning?  Glad you can play on the computer when you can't sleep.  I can't do that because mine is in our bedroom, and I don't want to disturb Darrel.  However, he is still snoring right now!

      Sarah, welcome home!  Glad you had fun at BB camp.  You girls will probably "slaughter" the other teams this coming term! :D

      I got a huge stack of photos from our family reunion, and plan to put them into an album to take along and share next year.  And I got doubles of some to share with my sisters.  I sure enjoy using those machines at Wal-Mart!  ;)

      I need to get dressed and start on that list of errands!  TTYL!

      WORKING as a computer instructor for an adult-education program at a community college, I am keenly aware of the gap in computer knowledge between my younger and older students. My observations were confirmed the day a new student walked into our library area and glanced at the encyclopedia volumes stacked on a bookshelf. "What are all these books?" he asked. Somewhat surprised, I replied that they were encyclopedias. "Really?" he said. "Someone printed out the whole thing?"

      Good morning all.  I read that post about the Canterbury backing that bogus bible "Good as New" -In my mind he is as culpable as the author of the book.  Think how many he will lead astray by endorsing it!  Imagine a new Christian or unbeliever picking up that book and thinking they are getting the Word of God!  Atrocious!  If we have no sin, we have no need for forgiveness - and no need for a Savior.  Dear Lord, how low we have fallen!

      Everybody is talking about weather.  Well, East Texas weather has been very unusual as well - but good for me!  I have a very poor tolerance to the heat and must remain inside much of the time during the summer.  This summer has been unusually wet and because of the rain and overcast - also cooler!  Everything is so beautiful and green!  I love the rain - it is a picture of the Holy Spirit.

      I am off for 2 days and I am just chillin' for a moment here at the puter - but later I will drive in to Dallas to attend something called Medieval Days where they dine us and then have horse jousts and, I don't know what all, for an evening stepping back in time.

      Got alot of housework and laundry done this morning which always makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

      Bonz is still leaving me presents frequently - and I'm adjusting to cleaning up after him on a regular basis.  Pretty bad, huh?  But I've tried everything short of getting rid of him, and I'm not ready to do that yet.  He's such a personable cat otherwise and loving.  It's like he just doesn't 'get it'.

      I've posted a few pictures in the 'looking up' challenge - stop by and take a look...
      Busy day tomorrow!

      Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
      Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts I pray.
      See if there be some wicked way in me;
      Cleanse me from ev'ry sin and set me free.

      I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;
      Fulfill Thy Word and make me pure within.
      Fill me with fie where once I burned with shame;
      Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.

      Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
      Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
      Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
      I now surrender, Lord--in me abide.

      O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;
      Send a revival--start the work in me.

      Worship: In Need of Worshipers

      But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry
      of the word.
      --Acts 6:4

      Well, we have great churches and we have beautiful sanctuaries and
      we join in the chorus, "We have need of nothing." But there is every
      indication that we are in need of worshipers.

      We have a lot of men willing to sit on our church boards who have no
      desire for spiritual joy and radiance and who never show up for the
      church prayer meeting. These are the men who often make the
      decisions about the church budget and the church expenses and where
      the frills will go in the new edifice.

      They are the fellows who run the church, but you cannot get them to
      the prayer meeting because they are not worshipers....

      It seems to me that it has always been a frightful incongruity that
      men who do not pray and do not worship are nevertheless actually
      running many of the churches and ultimately determining the
      direction they will take.

      It hits very close to our own situations, perhaps, but we should
      confess that in many "good" churches, we let the women do the
      praying and let the men do the voting.

      Because we are not truly worshipers, we spend a lot of time in the
      churches just spinning our wheels, burning the gasoline, making a
      noise but not getting anywhere.  Whatever Happened to Worship?,
      16-17.

      "Lord, make the men in our church, especially the leaders, men of
      prayer and worship. Please don't allow us to try to lead others
      where we have not been; don't let us spin our wheels because we
      are not worshippers. Amen."

      In the scriptures I cannot really find a disciples who were too spiritual to be  practical, nor any who were too practical to be also spiritual.
      I t was obvious to all lookers that " they had been with Jesus."
      Even Judas who betrayed Jesus and who kept the purse, had been sent out with a fellow disciple to preach the Gospel and heal the sick, which I'm sure he did.
      May we all of us be practical and also spiritual, we only need spend time with our Lord in prayer and praise, in His presence we find the power to live the Christian life as we are filled with His Spirit, becoming ever more like Him whom we love.

      Well, I didn't get anywhere but I might be getting to Andrew's if a friend picks me up.

      I started out but noticed a funny smell in the car like antifreeze so went to the station and was down 2 quarts of oil.  Just added two a couple of weeks ago!!  So then we found that the oil was all leaking into my antifreeze so major problems!

      Not sure now what I'm going to do without a car or the where with all to fix it.  Gotta go and settle down.

      Oh, Pat!  I'm SOO sorry about your car troubles!  My sister's car broke down on the way to family reunion, and the repair bill was over $700.00.  :'(  Car problems are never any fun.  I hope the repairs can be done quickly, and I am praying you have God's favor with the mechanic and garage, and that the bill will be minimal.  (((hugs)))

      Alma, thank you for the lovely compliments on my paintings.  I have some new ones I just finished, I need to get them photographed and posted.  Glad you had a nice visit with your daughter and grandgirls. :)

      I went to church today!  A black lady from Dallas is here in town and they had a meeting, and boy!  Can that gal preach!!  It was really great!  So glad Jeanie invited me.  (Jeanie is my sister.)

      Pinkie, Lee Kirkwood asked me to tell you that no, he hasn't joined the Christian Motorcycle group, and that because of a health problem, may soon be selling his bike.  But he said to tell you "I survived!"

      Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!  I got to chat a bit with our Mieka a little bit ago!!!  She was in a car in Los Angeles, (I think) on her "laptalk."  What a joy that girl is! ;D ;D

      It is raining right down here in Kansas!  And my friend in Alaska says it is unseasonably HOT there, they are all suffering from the heat!  And here I sit with a sweater on because it is so cool!  Really strange weather, huh?

      I need to work on some photos while I'm here all alone.  See you later!

      Just a quick hello.  I have much reading to catch up on.

      We got back from a two week vacation last last evening.  I have now got most of the unpacking done, read the mail and have cleaned out 130 emails.  I have now come to come to CP to say hi.  Will do the reading later.

      We had gone to Orillia camping for two weeks.  We took a '67 Chev Pick-Up truck towing the '71 Camper Trailer, and my mini-van to do the sight-seeing with while we were there.  We arrived home safe and sound with the pick-up and camper, however my mini-van remains in the Mr. Transmission hospital in Orillia until Wednesday.  Nice end to the vacation :(

      Among other things, we had gone to see a "Marine Railroad".  It is a lock system that lifts the boats right out of the water and takes them on a "railway" track across a road to another lake.  Really something amazing to see.  Hopefully my pictures turn out.

      Mom and Dad have gotten here for dinner and then we will be going out to watch some fireworks on Lake Ontario.  Must sign off for now.

      Home from work and tired. I may come back in a little bit.
