JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

It is finished.
John 19:30

Our Lord's cry of triumph from the cross, "It is finished," is one word in the Greek text.

Someone has called tetelestai the greatest single word ever uttered, having referred to it as "a sea of truth in a drop of speech."

What does the word reveal to us? It reveals that all the Old Testament sacrifices were consummated; all the prophecies centering on Christ before His death were fulfilled; God the Father's will was perfectly carried out; the requirements of the law were satisfied; the work of redemption was completed, and Satan defeated.

--W. Ross Rainey

Hallelujah! What a Saviour!

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:3

Author:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876
Musician:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876

Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Guilty, vile and helpless, we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He:
Full atonement!â€" can it be?
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Lifted up was He to die,
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in heav'n exalted high:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Goodmorning Everyone.

Especially Soni and Zach. :-* :-* (Yes it is me, last time I looked)

Pat thank you indeed this is a wonderful hymn to begin Our Lord's Day. There has been much rubbish on our radios lately re Jesus and Mary Magdelene. Whenever I hear it I see Him on the cross and I know He couldn't have suffered and bled for me in that way if he had a wife and family!  "He set his face to go to Jerusalem."

                   Hallelujah What A Saviour

Well another sleepless night has passed, due in part to the heat.  This morning again the atmosphere is very sticky and thundery!

I am glad all your friends are safe Larry.

Dexter I love you. ;)

Smile, Be Happy,
Jesus loves you.
And I do,

Jenny.

;D You all have a SNORE ! and I am the first one  :P

Mrs Bice I do try hard to to be a good Christian as I can be. But I have a hard time with some things. :-\ I do not talk with many people at all and I so many times have a wonder if what I do is a way that a Christian will do too. I have shame at times if some will wish to learn from me. :-[  I do not yet know all what is a way of a Christian. But I do share a time with God every day and I am happy I can ask the questions here. I do learn so much what I read here.

Ms Marilyn, I think about you many times too and the new home at the beach. I am SO happy you like this new home  ;D . I did know you will like it.  8)
And at times I have a wonder where I have been too.  :-\  I do not know all the place I do go so many times. I try to write it down each day so I will know it, but I have a hard time to know there is a London in the England and a London in the Canada too. I think at times I will not ever learn it.  :(

Mr Moak, It is my prayer if the problems with the legs is better soon for you.  ???  I did read it, and I do pray for you each day. I love you.  ;D And I pray you are well.

Ms Etta Sue (((hug))) I will try to make a post every time if I can. Make Mr Jerry make a post too ok. Tell him I will show every one the rabbit ears picture if he will not make a post soon.

Ms Soni (((hug))) I get to go to see the Chinese ballet when I go home soon and it is my wish that you can see it too.  8)  It is a dance like you do I think, yes? I am excite to see this I think.  :-\

Ms Janet,  ;D I love you. I am SO happy when I get to share a time with you. It is a time I treasure. I did get to see mr Justin for some time. He is too cute.  ;D

Mr Chris (hi ms Margit ),  8) It is very kind of you to help me with the trumpet sound. I had to read it many times and I did get a help for me to undarstand it. I think if it will say the trumpet noise must be heard it is to say only that it must be easy to undarstand, yes?  ??? :-\
I do not know what is a sound of a trumpet  :(  but I know Ms Karmat can make the music with the trumpet, so I know it must be a sound like a angel will sing.  8)
If many can hear this noise but do not undarstand it, no good will come of it,  but if it is very easy to undarstand for all, only then the work of God can be done, yes?
Do I undarstand it correct?  ???
Oh oh and I like the rose too.  ;D 8)

Hi ms Alma, I am happy you did well on this test. It is nice to see you here.  ;D

Ms Janet  ;D and Ms Soni  :P , it is a very good Idea to make a click in the forum so I can see the new pictures. Many times I can not see them on my phone, but I like to go back when I can do it and see them when I have a computer to see the pictures.

Hi ms Rachel, the tiny Dexter dog he is VERY cute.  :D

AAAaawww Mr Eddie It is a most kind words you share with me today. I thank you very much. I am so happy to meet you here. My heart it is warm to know you as my friend.  ;D ;D

Welcome Charliz to the CP, I know you will like it here. It is my hope if you will make a post soon if you wish so I can know you more.  8)

Ms Pat I so love the Christian Photographers. I know it is so much work at times.  I thank you with all my heart that you share so much time that I can have this time to treasure with so many new friends. I love you with all my heart and I am SO happy you are my Mum.

I wish for you all a most wonderful day when you get here. (it is a very nice day tomorrow).

I love you all  ;D, and I love you God8)

mieka

??? How am I not the first one  ???

I think perhaps when I am a post pig I take much too long to make a post.  :o
I did not know a post pigs are so slow.  :-\

(hi mr Anthony) only a post pig  :P

Hi ms Karmat.......... MS KARMAT ? ........... (ms Karmat?  ??? )

Yes indeed Mieka, the simplest and clearest message is best, also the simplest and clearest people  seem to get through to the others.
Our message whether it be in spoken words or actions or in the written word should be a clear and easily understood way of communication.
In our church (which we are going to in a few minutes) the hearing impaired people sit together in the front row and the signer sits facing them and communicates the service including the sermon to them all, and it is so beautiful to see.
The signs for God, Jesus, His love, His grace etc. are lovely to behold, and many times I just sit and watch the beautiful signing.
There is no excuse for anyone not being able to receive the word of God as He has provided many means.
May He bless you richly this Lord's day, and fill you with all knowledge and a great  love of learning of  the things of Christ.
Please ask and ask and ask again, grow in favour and in stature with God and man.
Luke ch 2 v 52.

mieka

::) It is Very very kind of you to help me Mr Chris. I am SO happy to know you and Ms Margit here and to read each day of the words you share with every one. at times i need a help to undarstand what is a idiom but i learn so much and I thank you that you and Ms Margit come here and share the pictures too.

:-[ i am one that will look and not make a post so many times. But I love to look at them.

We do not have one to sign at my church where I go  in the California. So many times I only go when there is no one there so I can pray in the Chapel....... Some in my family can sign and they help me when we can all go to the church. We do not get to go to the church very much together so many times i do not go. When I am on a travel with my parents we get to go to the church most every time. i like this time with them. I learn so much more when they are with me. I can ask the questions and they know why I ask.

Have a fun day mr Chris and a (((hug))) to ms Margit ok.  ;D

How refreshing to read all the posts.  I love each and everyone of you.

I am ready to go out the door to get Jerry and then go onto church.  After church today is our Small Groups Family outing.  We are going to a couples home who just put in a pool this summer.  It is cold....only 55 degrees right now but it is a heated pool so I am sure the kids will have fun.  I am my Cornbread Salad and 2-liter bottle of pop ready to go to the car.  It will be a fun day.

Dear Mieka!  It is always so very good to see you here!  About my legs - they are much, much better these days.  The swelling has gone down to almost none at all, the open wounds have completely healed.  The doctor tells me that if I am able to lose some weight there will be no problem at all!  I thank my God!

By the way - you say that you "try hard to be a good Christian."  Let's be thankful that we don't have to "try hard" - Jesus did it for us.  Salvation is by grace through faith, not of works.  We WANT to try hard to please our Savior BECAUSE He did it all for us, but He does not condemn us when we fail.  His works, not ours, are pleasing to God.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

I had difficulty going to sleep last night. My son and his friend took me to dinner at a chinese restaurant - no, Mieka, I really didn't EAT this Chinese  ;) (I'll leave that for Etta Sue) !

For those of you who are new, since Mieka is of Chinese birth, she teases us if we say we "ate Chinese" or "ate Mexican."

I have not been drinking caffieine, so I think the several small cups of hot tea that I drank may have made it hard to go to sleep.

At any rate, my brother called. He and his wife are in Oklahoma today, so are on Central time. Fortunately, there will still be time for me to greet you with the Love of our Lord, then prepare for church this morning.

Y'all have a wonderful day.

Ruth Ann

We slept a little later this morning, so I only have time to say Good Morning!  and we are off to church.  I will come back later and visit a bit.  Have a lovely day, all.

Hi, my sweet Mieka!  I love you, girl!  Sorry I missed you, but glad you got to talk to Justin.  He is a fun boy.  (My grandson.)

Etta Sue, I didn't steal your graphic, no, I didn't.  ;D

Jenny! Thanks so much for the kisses.  :-* :-* Your son will like his camera I am sure.  Zachery says, "HI"!

I better get ready for church.
Hope you all have a great Sunday.

Hello Everyone!

I do hope and pray that you are all having a wonderful day!  It was sunny here this morning but now it's a bit cloudy but that's alright.

Jenny, it was so nice to see your cheery post first thing this morning!  Yes, what a lot of garbage about Jesus! :'(   I'm so glad you enjoyed the hymn.  Aren't those words just so powerful?  Love your little three lines at the end too.  And I love you too, Jenny

Ohhhh, I love to see your questions, our special Meeks!  And I just love you being a POST PIG TOO!!!   ;D  You are very, very special to everyone here on CP and we never want you to forget that. Many of us pray for you every day. HAHAHA!  Let's see the rabbit ears picture, Mi!  And Mi, I'm so honoured to be your "Mum" too.  I love you as a daughter.  You're so very special.

I'm sitting here silently weeping with happiness as I read your loving message, Chris, to our darling Mieka.  What a lovely message to her.  Thanks for loving Mieka too, Chris and Margit.  Isn't she just so special?

Hope you have a lovely Small Groups Family outing today, Etta Sue.  We'll probably hear from you when you get home.

What good news, Al Moak that your legs are getting much better.  Re losing weight, it's difficult for those of us who are 'up in age' I think but I've lost 10 pounds in the last 3 1/2 weeks following the South Beach plan.  I've been enjoying it very much.  I'm not a bit hungry at any time.

Ruth Ann, I have never liked decaf coffee but thought I'd try one more time and I found that i don't mind the taste of Maxwell House Decaf so I have that sometimes now.

Talk to you later, Janet, Soni and Marilyn!

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.  That was a nice quote from Corrie Ten Boom.

I didn't feel like posting yest. as was rather sad about my brother-in-law dying.  He died in June and I received a CD of the music from the service and copy of the story about his life.  My sister is terribly sad as they were married since 1944.  I was not aware of how much Jules had accomplished as they are not inclinded to talk about such matters.  Didn't know that his brother Joe had started the Wexford Hockey Association in the '70's in Ontario and that Jules had become President and remained as Director of the organization until they moved to Australia.  Seems Jules & Mary raised over 9 million dollars for the club in ten years.  I knew they had a wonderful relationship with many young people.  Jules was with Union Carbide for 37 years and did all the purchasing for their three Ontarion plants...including the sale when they moved to Walkerton.  Again, something that I didn't know.  Knew he was an executive....never talked about the work.  I quess that you are familiar with these places Pat.
Jules was a devoted Catholic and I know that he is in heaven.  I always admired his kindness and gentleness.  He was 6ft. 4in. tall and really was a gentle giant.  This person does not believe that Church affiliation is what makes a Christian.  No one church is the 'true' church.  What matters is if we believe in the Bible and Jesus.  I am not certain about my sister, only that she seems to be reaching out to me after many years of our not being close.  So it is my hope to nurture that and simply be helpful.

Janet, I tried the Ammonia and it did help.  Still having much pain in my leg but not as swollen.  Sort of hesitate to keep applying it as not certain about absorbtion into the bloodstream.. Will keep some handy for the next sting....which I hope won't happen ::)

Amanda's bunnies are growing and it is so interesting to see the many changes happening.  Even before their eyes open, they are cleaning each other and taking little hops around.  The eyes are now open on all three and they get more cute by the minute!

Nice to see you again Mieka.  I am puzzled by where you go and your world travels....certainly must make life interesting.  Simply trust and believe, Mieka.  So many get snowed under by doctrine.....Open your heart to God and the answers come.

Pleasant day and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Liz

Pat, that is the Wexford Raiders Hockey Team.  You mentioned being interested in hockey and I wondered if you might know about them.

LOL
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

WELCOME TO CP, CHARLIZ!!  DO COME IN AND GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE FOLKS HERE, YOU ARE CERTAINLY WELCOME IN THIS PLACE!

Our church service was really good.  Pastor Ken spoke on the seven habits of highly effective Christians.  He gave us a lot to "chew on" for the rest of the week.

I am thinking about how we can help Beth.  There are a few things that have to be done SOON.  A longer, not-so-steep ramp; either grab bars in the bathroom or take out the tub and put in a shower, a lever lock on her door so she can open it more easily, and a low table or cabinet where we can put her George Foreman grill, a hotplate and her microwave.  These simple changes will allow her to maintain her independence for a while longer.  Her roof is also leaking and needing repairs.

Liz, I'm sorry about your brother in law.  He sounds like he lived a worthwhile life and was a blessing to others.  That is a good legacy to leave behind us.

Hello, Rachel!  Hi Pat!  Hey, Soni!  And Zachery!  Hello to Jenny, Ruth Ann, Larry, Papa John, Al, Etta Sue, Marilyn, Chris and Margit, dear Mi..........and where is our dear Ria??  I miss you, dear sister!  Hello there, Anthony!  It's so good to have you back and to watch the changes in your life as you continue to walk with the Lord.  This is just such a wonderful place of fellowship, isn't it?  Even Christians sometimes just enjoy a little visit together, even if we aren't at all times discussing deep things of the Lord.

I had a project in mind for this afternoon when I woke up, and now I don't remember what it was!  Hmmm........Maybe I'm supposed to rest?!?!

The Power Of Love

Love will last forever (1 Corinthians 13:8, NLT).

Dear friends:

A single act of love can have positive and beneficial ripple effects
far-reaching beyond our wildest imaginations.  Refusing an act of love
can have the opposite effect.

In 1952 a probation officer in New York City tried to find an
organization that would assist in the adoption of a twelve-year-old boy.

Although the child had a religious background, none of the major
denominations would assist in his adoption.  Said the officer later,
"His case had been reported to me because he had been a truant.  I tried
for a year to find an agency that would care for this needy youngster.
Neither Catholic, Protestant, nor Jewish institutions would take him
because he came from a denomination they did not recognize.  I could do
nothing constructive for him."

If the principles of Christian love had prevailed in the Bronx in 1952,
perhaps a good home could have been found for that young, mixed-up lad.
In fact, providing a better environment for him might have changed
history.

For you see, the boy was Lee Harvey Oswald, who later assassinated
President John F. Kennedy, causing grief to the nation and the world.

Love is the greatest power in the universe.  God is personified in love.
"God is love," the Scripture tells us (1 John 4:16, NIV).  And "love
never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8, NIV).  "This is the message you heard
from the beginning: We should love one another" (1 John 3:11, NIV).

In our relationships with others, often what passes for love is little
more than a neat business transaction.  People are kind to us, so we
repay them with equal consideration.  When they treat us unjustly, our
negative response is really what they asked for.  Everything is so
balanced, so fair, so logical with this eye-for-an-eye and
tooth-for-a-tooth kind of justice.  But Christian love never settles for
only what's reasonable.  It insists on giving mercy as well as justice.
It breaks the chain of logical reactions.

General Robert E. Lee was asked what he thought of a fellow officer in
the Confederate Army who had made some derogatory remarks about him.
Lee rated him as being very satisfactory.

The person who asked the question seemed perplexed.  "General," he said,
"I guess you don't know what he's been saying about you."

"I know," answered Lee.  "But I was asked my opinion of him, not his
opinion of me!"

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

Congratulations Pat on the weight loss :)
Al Moak,
dear brother, we wish you well in losing some weight,
I,m still on the Fatkins diet lol :D

Mieka, dear girl, just relax and let Jesus work in you and through you,the more you surrender to Him and give Him honour and praise for everything that He does in your life, the more He will do.
There is no need for the surrendered child of God to be anxious or worried about being salt and light in the world, it is a natural effect of knowing Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
Have you ever gone out into the garden and heard an apple tree groaning and crying "I must bear fruit,I must bear fruit."
No! The tree just lets the rain fall upon it and then basks in the sunshine, then all naturally happens as it should.
So we Christians just take the water of the Word of God and stay in the Sonshine and the fruit just naturally appears!
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and God has seen to it that righteousness has been imputed to us through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Read Ephesians ch. 2 v2-10.
God has blessed you, and He Who has begun a good work in you will continue it.

Janet.

Thank you darling for that.  I got a chill up my spine...."there but for the grace of God go I."

Imagine John Kennedy waiting with open "Loving"  arms to meet Lee Harvey Oswald in Heaven...no-one knows whether he came to Christ in his last moments.

"The Mercy of God is greater than all our malice."

Janet, our Ria is very, very tired.  Still visiting the hospital daily and doing the extra chores in Jan's home while his future is being arranged.

Pat.
I needed that "love" thank-you. ...Here's some for you  :-* (Taken any good Lilliputs lately? I have.)

Marilyn and I prayed for Karma and Kathy today on Buddies. Should they call in here I send my love to them.May they and their families be kept safe.

Good night folks.
God Bless.

Hi everyone.  Wow, what a busy day so far but hopefully the running is over for this day and I can relax a bit.  We had Sunday School Rally Day at church during Sunday School time and then regular worship service.  We then went to eat with 5 of our friends and it was almost 2:30 pm when we got home.  I then had to attend our home owner's association meeting at 3 pm.  Fortunately it was over around 4 pm .

I have been reading all of the postings here on NEM but am not going to do individula coments today.

However, I do want to say welcome to Charliz.

Also, Janet, it sounds like those are good suggestions to help Beth and other than putting in the shower should be relatively easy to accomplish.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Liz

I bundled up and covered up and took my book out into the garden to a bee free area.  Sat and started to read.....a bee came and got under my sweater and stung me in two places...lower neck and shoulder >:(

There is something that I would love to say....only Christian's can't talk that way :-X

Oh Liz... I'm so sorry you got stung by a bee like that!... BUT... you did give am a laugh ;D when I read your post (about the words that you must not say) :-X

Al:  You explained so well, to Meika, how we do not have to "try" to be a good Christian.  How wonderful to know that God loves us, just the way we are.

Etta Sue:  What a wonderful graphic you put here.  Just that little graphic shows the message of salvation, dosen't it.  How is Jerry these days?  Please let him know that we ask for him.

Marilyn:  How are things going for you these days?  My DIL had the same surgery that you had.  She is doing well.  Can you believe it, that her doctor let her go home the second day?

Has anyone heard from Karma lately?  I hope she is feeling well.  Perhaps I will drop her a note.  Thanks, Jenny for keeping in touch with Ria.  I'm sure she must be very tired.  How is her father doing?

Janet:  I'm going over to see your photos.  Justin sent me a note on Yahoo, but I wasn't able to write back.  Norm was on the computer at the time. :(

Its always nice to hear from you Meika....thanks Ruth Ann for explaining to the new C.P'ers how Meika teases us about "eating Chinese" etc. :D

Well, I'm going to watch the Olympics now....isn't it great having something decent to watch for a change!
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Good Evening Everyone!

Well, it was kind of a quiet afternoon for me.  Wasn't busy with much so had a short nap.

Liz, I've never heard of the Wexford Raiders but on searching the internet, it looks as if it was near Toronto maybe in Mississauga but I can't be certain.  I used to drive a lot of Junior Hockey Teams around but they were all north of Toronto so I wouldn't have been involved with the Wexford Raiders.  Looks like they are in the same level of playing as Guelph Storm is.    I'm sorry you felt a little "down".  It's not nice feeling like that.

Thanks Janet...   That's a good article of Bill Bright's today.

Great message to our Meeks, Chris!  Thanks for that.  It helped me too!

Oh, Jenny!  Have you started taking some photos of them?  I haven't...but I will.  I have to do a lot of dusting first! ::) ???

Oh, Chris... I love that hymn.  I have that in my files from a long time ago.  I should put that in our Hymn collection!    I've sung that in days gone by.  Thanks for sharing it here.

I'm so sorry, Liz that you got stung again by probably a wasp.  This is terrible.  They sure love you.  :o

Great to see you, Judy...  Yes, I've been enjoying the Olympics as well.

I got this in an email today and thought it good enough to post here.

You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is, so ! they would know when they found one. (Good on ya, mate!!!!)

An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan. An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country.!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan.

Americans welcome the best, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. I've been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 other countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
