Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

But David encouraged hmself in the Lord his God.
1 Samuel 30:6

It was a black day for David and his band.

They had come back to their homes in Ziklag to find the city in ruins, their families taken captive by the Amalekites.

His men were so angry and despondent that they spoke of stoning David.  Everything seemed against him on that day.

But David encouraged hiimself in the Lord.  Regardless of depressing circumstances, David knew the Lord was still his God.

He wrote, "The Lord is my Shepherd."

When terrified by circumstances, sheep run to their shepherd for pretection and help.

Are you discouraged and depressed because of the fierce blows of life?

Run to your Shepherd for comfort and protection.
--D. L. Norbie

The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want
(Click to hear music)

Psalm 23

The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E'en for his own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

My table thou hast furnished
In prsence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house for evermore
My dwelling-place shall be.

Nice devotional, Pat.  Yes, it is sad that our churches have forgotten about sin....God hasn't :'(

I have been feeling rather out of sorts the past bit.  Saw the eye specialist yesterday (Monday) and he wants me to try another eye drop in a few weeks.  Unless they find one that my body will accept, my vision will eventually be gone.  There is continuing damage to the Optic Nerve.  Well, that is down the road and one thing at a time....I see okay right now :)

Have read all the posts for the past two days and glad to learn about everyone's adventures.  Poor Pat.  Your computer sure has become an expense!

Still not able to be outside much as the Wasps come from every direction and aim at ME.  Think they must have some sort of hotline going.  Would love to be out getting some of the great sunshine we are having.  Tomorrow/today, is Farmer's Market and I am going regardless.

Was upstairs last night having a coffee with Wendy and she was playing John Denver Music on the Stereo. The bunnies must have heard and the little one's started hopping all over the hutch.  It was absolutely the most funny sight!  He was singing 'Thank God I'm a Country Boy'.  The mother rabbit was playing with them....She finally hid out in the Litter Box and let them run.  Etta Sue has Kitty TV, now I have 'The Bunny Hop'.

Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

mieka

only a hello to every one today. I am here at my home today in the California. I am SO SO happy to come home for only some weeks. and I will treasure my time here. I love you all.

mr Moak you are SO kind to me, it is my hope if you know how much I love you.  :-[

My heart is sad today for why I do not know. I am So happy and I must sit here and cry. I think perhaps they are only a tears of love. It is too silly to be sad that I must go again soon if it is only my first day back here at my home.  :-[ :-\ I think perhaps I am a crazy mess. Perhaps I only need to get a rest. I did not get a rest much on the airplane. Eeeww I do not like them much. now it is 2:00 Am in the morning and I can not get to asleep.  :-\ :(

Ms Pat I love you and I do not know why you must have this troubles with a computer today.  :-\ You do SO much that others can share a time with God, it is my wonder why some things must be as they are. I pray you are in a good health.  8)

Ms Liz it is sad to me you have a troubles with a wasps. I do not undarstand how we are to be kind to a bugs if they are mean and a harm to us. But I can not find in my heart a way to take from them the live that God did give to them.  It is many times my wonder if it is sad to God to spray for the bugs so they do not grow more i think it is ok, yes? but to kill them, it is a tiny life. It is a day God did make that we can rejoice and be HAPPY in it. so why am I sad of a bugs tonight?  :-\  :-[

I am so happy to share a time with Jesus tonight and i can read some here at the Christian Photographers. It is a time for me to grow i think. I did read of the Bible tonight for many hours and I have some words to tear my heart tonight. I pray God will forgive me that I am not so strong at times to do what is his wish. I pray I will learn what I am to do.

I did get to meet a new friend tonight and my heart is so happy if I can share a time with her again soon. It is my hope if you can all think a kind thought for her today so She will find her way.

I love you all,

and I love you God

Pat: Thanks for the words reminding us that the Lord is indeed our Shepherd.
It would be wonderful if our computers somehow stayed fixed but I guess that is not to be.

Mieka:  You are a light to my day.  All those faces I love them.

I will be spending the day with my Aunts which is a joy.

I just lost a long post. GRRRRR.

Mieka I am sorry that you are feeling sad. But like you said maybe they were tears of love. Sometimes when I am praying or in church listening to the worship music or the message from the Pastor, the tears just seem to start flowing down my cheeks and will not stop. I think it is the Holy Spirit refilling us and we should cherish those tears and accept what the Lord has for us.

Ria I see you did not post. I pray dear sister that you are getting some rest and not trying to to do too much in one day.

Pat thank you for the devotional today and every day. Sometimes I think that there is nothing I can do about the ugly things going on in the world and in my country.  The sinful ways that have taken over the world these days. But there is something we can do. We don't have to condone the ugliness, we can pray and sign petitions, write letters to the government officials, etc.

Dear Sister Liz, I love going to the farmers Market. There are quite a few close to me as the little towns are not far apart and the Farmers Markets are on diferent days at different times. I will pray for you re: your eyes.

To all others who enter into this site today I pray you will have a very Blessed day in the Lord.

Papa John

Good morning.  We are starting the day with a little rain.  We have had a mild summer with adequate rain which has kept our grass nice and green all summer long.  Our local schools have started up again for the 2004 -2005 school year.

Yesterday I came in and read the posts but I didn’t post myself.  Yesterday afternoon I taught the men’s Bible class at the nursing home near here.  The regular teacher had to be out of town.

MIEKA, you are back in California !!  I wish you could stay over here because we do miss you when you are away.

Marilyn, I hate it too when I lose a post and then I try to remember what I wrote and just can’t remember everything.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.  Sorry about your computer problems.

Ruth and Liz, it is good to see you this morning.

It's so good to have you Mieka posting so much.  Glad you are home in California now.  I know you don't like those airplane rides.

Hello to the rest of you.

Pat ~ So sorry to hear about your computer.  But, for sure, you sure get good mileage on your computer.  I see you online everywhere!!!!

Janet ~ The flag is up on my mailbox!!!!

Rachelle ~ It sure sounds like you are a busy mother and wife.  Keeps you young, right?

Ruth ~ Your vacation at the Lodge sounded wonderful until you said you did make a lot of noise so the bears and other wildlife would stay away while berry picking.   :o  I guess if I lived in bear country, I would be used to watching out for bears.  And here I am, scared of the big, burly groundhog that has burrowed under my deck!!!!!  ::)

Sonja ~ Beautiful song.  Love the words.

Chris ~
QuoteOne day He’s comingâ€"O glorious day!
The words to the song is uplifting for sure.  And it will be a glorious day when our Lord and Savior comes again.

Larry ~ You are a busy guy!  People can see the light shining from you.  You are always doing for others.

Karma ~ Great to see you.  We 'mothers' remember how it is to be pregnant.  We all have different pregnancies but we KNOW!  Will be glad to know what 'it' is, too!!!!

Ruth Ann ~ Right!  My sister was sick for 9 months each for a boy and two girls....sick from the morning after you-know-what 'til birth!   ;)  I was sick the first trimester and had a boy.  I fell it is more how you carry the baby and where you gain weight for the different sexes.  But either way, you have a 50% chance of being right, right?????

Marilyn ~ No fog here but lightening, thunder and rain woke me around 3:45 a.m.  The wind wasn't blowing so I didn't shut windows.  Just enjoy the cool air and the smell of a fresh rain and went back to sleep.  I have a humidistat and it is almost 80% humidity in my house right now.  Kind of dampish.

Al ~ I understand how the Lord provides.  I have been having some financial setbacks and so far it has been little things that I have been saving on but still they are savings.  I know you will enjoy your new stove.  Now, who does the cooking....you or Marbeth?

Pat ~ Wow!  These computers can be costive!!!  You may have to do more of your....Ding Dong, Avon Calling!!!

Sarah ~ Glad you dropped in!  Enjoy school while you can.  Work is a grind!

Liz ~ I am sure that the Bunny Hop is a lot more entertaining than Kitty TV!!!  That is so funny.  I am sure the bunnies are very entertaining.  So sorry about your eyesight.  Hope they find the right eye drops.  And say, "Boo, Wasps!" when you venture outside.

Mieka ~ I am sad because I know your time in California will be short.  But I feel in my heart that you will be back so that makes me glad.  We will miss you, little one, but also know you will be back!

Papa John ~ It is damp here but not raining yet.  It did rain in the night though.  We have been having wonderful weather for this summer.  I love it.[/b]

Janet

Good morning, friends.  Good to see the day started out with several posting already.

Pat, I am so sorry about your computer.  How old is it?  Darrel was looking at a catalog the other day and found a better computer than his Dell he got in 2001, for only $400.00.  I was wondering if you would be ahead to get a new one, rather than spending more money on the one you have.  Just a thought.  (((hugs)))

Hi, Mieka!  I loved our talk last night, and I love you.  (((hug)))

Thanks, Etta Sue!  The plans are progressing for the birthday party for Beth, despite a couple of setbacks.  It is getting hard to find a room to host something like that here now.  I guess too many have taken advantage and done damage. :(  I'm trying to not let it get me stressed.

I really appreciate all of you who are sneding Beth birthday cards.  I want this birthday to be special for her.

Larry, you are a blessing to so many.  You are God's favorite son!  :)

Liz, I hope whatever is attracting the wasps goes away soon!  The bunny hop sounds really cute.  Do they keep the rabbits indoors, or were you watching out the window?

Hi, Marilyn!  Hi, Al!  Hello, Papa John.  Howdy, Ruth Ann.  And greetings to the rest of you, too. I will talk to you more later.

I must get busy, too much to do and too little time to do it, as usual.

Hi everyone.  Just a quick note to say I was here and will try to get back later.

Pat, hope you will be able to bring your computer back with you and save another trip on Friday.

Good to see Karma posting again and to know she is feeling better.

Mieka, glad you are back in your home in California for some days.  Enjoy each one of them.

I have read all the postings and know I wanted to respond to more but don't have the time now.  Perhaps I can get back later.

Alma

greeting to all the wonderful people in Christ,

Pat, Your words are so right it is awful what the church dose over look , so than the people get weak in the truth because sin is so blahsay,, Not that we strong in the word will stumble but think of all those who are babies in Gods word.. We need to remain faithful to only what the Bible tells us that way we know  what God dose and dose not accept..

Mieka. God bless you.. May I ask where you live in Calif?? I live in the Calif mountains in  Big Bear.. If you are not to far from us I would love to meet you.. I so enjoy to your posts.. Where are you from again?

Ruth, I hope your that is wonderful with your aunt.. I lost my favorite aunt a while back, she was a hoot.. She lived in Palm Springs across the street from Bob Hope and his family.. She loved to tell stories of all the pool partys and dinners they shared together, My uncle is Danny Thomas brother..

Marilyn, How are you?? I  am so sorry you lost a post, I lost a long email to a friend in Florida today.. I too said GGGRRR!!!
How is work going?? Are you working 5 days??

I am still with Miss Cheryl.. It has been a very hard few days.. I am having to spoon water in to Cheryl because she in not able to drink.. She is choking so bad that I am afraid she will choke to death.. Its is so hard to get the medicine into her and  she needs  her meds as they keep us fron having seziures..I know that God is not done with her here but I know that she is ready to  go home to the Lord.. I see it in her eyes lately. She hasn't said a word in days and last night I prayed with her and she said so faintly Thank you..  God forgive me but I am tired too!!  :'(   All I can do is comfort her and I feel so enatiquite..

Papa John, I have worked at nursing homes for years and I want to tell you THANK YOU for what you are doing!!   It is so important that are elderly  still get fellowship and The Word.. I use to bring everyone I could to the meetings from the Elders that  would come to share Gods word..

Etta Sue, How are you??   I am always so glad to see your posts.. God bless you..

Janet, Good morning to you .. Glad to see you..  How are you other than very busy ??

Well today I have a real estate test, I will let you know how I do.. I am starting to enjoy  looking forward to my new adventures  in my life.. I always have my nursing but I really want to get married and stay at home for a while.. I have been a 24 hour nusre for 3 years now and I am tired like I said.. I have said I could go into human resourse but Craig said he dosen't mind what I want to do as long as when Cheryls gone ,  I  get married and   come home.. You can't hardly get married if you live at your job, I mean what kind of a marrige is that for a husband.. It is hard for him to drive 250 miles every weekend to see me and back..Much less think of doing it ever day.. The mountain roads are dangerous in the winter.. Or when your tired..

Well enough of that.. All things work out for the Glory to God in his time..   God bless all of you today.. ~ALMA
ABOVE ALL PUT ON LOVE..

Good luck, Alma !

I am also looking foward to knowing what it is, Karma.  ;D  I didn't want to know what Lila Mae was but when the doc. did the ultra sound I noticed it was a girl.  It is so hard to surprise me.

Pat, I am so sorry about your costly computer problems.  At least you don't have to buy a new one, or maybe you should.  Walmart has some pretty good prices on computers.  Just a thought.

Quoteby Papa John~The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;

Papa John, I wish everyone thought this way.  :-\  Thanks for sharing the scripture.

Liz~ It has been awhile since I heard any of John Denver's music.  Didn't think his stuff was still around.

Good morning, Marilyn, Janet, Anthony(where are you?)  ;D Ruth, Etta Sue(thanks) and Mieka  :-*  !

Al Moak

QuoteAl ~ I understand how the Lord provides.  I have been having some financial setbacks and so far it has been little things that I have been saving on but still they are savings.  I know you will enjoy your new stove.  Now, who does the cooking....you or Marbeth?

Actually, Etta Sue, Marbeth does most of the cooking.  I have done it from time to time, especially when the kids were younger and at home.  But she's done really well at it for a good many years, so I'll let her!

It was a real blessing to receive the cash value of that unneeded insurance policy in the mail.  We knew it was coming, but we didn't have any idea how much it would be.  It's timing was perfect - the Lord sent it just when it was needed most!

Chris & Margit Saunders

I guess that we are really rather glad that God sends things in His time and not in ours!
In the hymn I posted yesterday...
One day when heaven was filled with His praises,
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
Dwelt among men, my Example is He!

Ah His timing is immaculate, I praise Him with you Al, and for your needs being filled. :)

Janet

Well, I have settled on a place for the party, now getting prices for food.  Diane thinks we should serve food, which will be nice but also add a lot to the cost of the party.  And I don't think I can do it all by myself.  I need Chef Choy here!  ;D

I'm just stopping by between phone calls and working on Beth's memory album.  I started heres first, several years ago, but I have so much to do on it, and want to have it there at her party.  I want people to see how pretty she was before the neurofibromatosis began to mar her looks.  Of course, she is still beautiful inside!  I hope we have a good number of people come to the party.

Alma, I can imagine that you are worn out.  God must be strengthening you, to be able to give 24 hr. a day care for three years!  I think it is time for you to have a break.  God bless you.  Caregivers are very special people.

Well, back to the album!

Living By Faith
(Click to hear music)

?He said to the: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.? Acts 1:7-8

As you listen to this beautiful hymn just let your mind concentrate on the meaning of the Bible verses cited and think about what it means to be "Living By Faith".

Alma I work 6 days per week with 2 different clients. I know how you feel about our inadequacies in the job when things seem to be going down hill and all we can do is pray a lot and make sure the patient is ready to meet the Lord. Whenever I go into a home for the first time one of the first things  do is  make sure the person  is saved. I had one  man that kept telling me that his wife took care of all the church stuff. I finally got him to repeat after me the Sinners prayer. He did it as a favor to me because he liked me so much.  It took me  3 years to get him saved and 2 months later he was gone. I always pray with and for my clients and take them to church with me if they are capable of going. The Sunday stuff is on my own time.

Hi, friends,

I couldn't post again this morning - workday from 5:40 until 6:45 this evening. But, the good news is that I am off 1/2 day tomorrow morning for a senior's driving class that will reduce my auto insurance. It doesn't begin until 8:30, so I'll have time to post tomorrow. Hooray!

It's so good to read all your posts. Alma, 24-hour care is really draining. You have my empathy and my support.

Mieka - welcome HOME!

Pat, so sorry about your computer. Wish I could fix it for you.

Hey, Papa John - wanna do lunch sometime? I miss you and Cornelia.

Y'all have a good evening. My bed's been whispering messages to me for several moments - something like, "Now, Ruth Ann, you're tired - come rest yourself in my warm comfort, and you'll feel much better in the morning." ;)

G'nite, all.
