JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,
Trust Him when thy strength is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Seems the hardest thing of all.
Trust Him, He is ever faithful,
Trust Him, for his will is best,
Trust Him, for the heart of Jesus
Is the only place of rest.

Morning Devotional...

Nevertheless afterward..
Hebrews 12:11

''There is a legend that tells of a German baron who at his castle on the Rhine, stretched wires from tower to tower, that the winds might convert them into an Aeolian harp. And the soft breezes played about the castle, but no music was born.

But one night there arose a great tempest, and hill and castle were smitten by the fury of the mighty winds. The baron went to the threshold to look out upon the terror of the storm, and the Aeolian harp was filling the air with strains that rang out even above the clamour of the tempest. It needed the tempest to bring out the music!

And have we not known men and women whose lives have not given out any entrancing music in the day of calm prosperity, but who, when the tempest drove against them have astonished their fellows by the power and strength of their music?''

"THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS"
(The watchword of the Reformers.)

I once was a stranger to grace and to God,
I knew not my danger, and felt not my load;
Though friends spoke in rapture of Christ on the tree,
Jehovah Tsidkenu was nothing to me.

I oft read with pleasure, to sooth or engage,
Isaiah's wild measure and John's simple page;
But e'en when they pictured the blood-sprinkled tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu seem'd nothing to me.

Like tears from the daughters of Zion that roll,
I wept when the waters went over His soul;
Yet thought not that my sins had nail'd to the tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu - 'twas nothing to me.

When free grace awoke me, by light from on high,
Then legal fears shook me, I trembled to die;
No refuge, no safety in self could I see, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu my Saviour must be.

My terrors all vanished before the sweet name;
My guilty fears banished, with boldness I came
To drink at the fountain, life-giving and free, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu is all things to me.

Jehovah Tsidkenu! my treasure and boast,
Jehovah Tsidkenu! I ne'er can be lost;
In thee I shall conquer by flood and by field,
My cable, my anchor, my breast-plate and shield!

Even treading the valley, the shadow of death,
This "watchword" shall rally my faltering breath;
For while from life's fever my God sets me free,
Jehovah Tsidkenu, my death song shall be.

Morning!!!!

Jenny

Yes Soni.  Morning has broken.  Praise God!  another empty page for Him to write upon.

Thank-you dear Pat and dear Iain....wonderful words today and a wonderful hymn.

I arose early again this morning to see Chris off to work.  ...Best part of the day.

The sky is red and pink overhead right now, reminds me of the old adage:-

"Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning.

Red sky at night, shepherd's delight."

Do you all know that one?  I suppose it bodes rain again today though I pray otherwise.  God is good.

Carol dear sister from down the hill  ;) Hope you manage to post a "hello" on here today.  Hello dear.

Marilyn.  I will try to interpret U.S. measurements..go to Google  ;D

Love and God bless.
Jenny.

Joyce.  I know the feeling ...the last few days I have been tossed to and fro on the waves, but I can see Jesus coming across to me.  He says "Peace be still. Oh ye of little faith"

"No help!  Nay not so!
Though human help be far, thy God is nigh;
Who feeds the ravens , hears His children's cry;
He's near thee,  whereso'er the footsteps roam,
And He will guide thee, light thee, help thee home."

Rachelle

The Lord has started answering our prayers.......my wife could  not attend the !st
"showing hour" of Patrick yesterday but in the evening Pat's mom, her sister called
he for first time in over a year....i guess the conversation was painful and akward , but
even so it is a start for the mending of broken hearts...God is Good ! Today kay will be there
for the second "showing" before the funeral tommorrow(thursday) so then pray that more healing may take place and the spirit of God be with them.
I am still feeling a lot of stomach pain ..but its less than it was and i just asked the Lord to heal
his "King's Kid" again....amen?

I just read on line what the pope has decreed...in case you have not seen it i am both lifted up
but let down again by that very last line: because it is so true...... :(

No more watching movies or football games on Sundays. Pope John Paul II has decreed that Roman Catholics should reserve Sunday as a day for God only and not for secular diversions, such as entertainment and sports, reports Reuters.
"When Sunday loses its fundamental meaning and becomes subordinate to a secular concept of 'weekend' dominated by such things as entertainment and sport, people stay locked within a horizon so narrow that they can no longer see the heavens," the pontiff said in a speech to 35 Australian bishops, who recently made a pilgrimage to the Vatican. The pope blasted what he called "the pernicious ideology of secularism."
Condemning the "culture of the here and now," the Holy Father encouraged the leaders of the church to "lead men and women from the shadows of moral confusion and ambiguous thinking." Noting the secular culture is undermining family life, the pope encouraged Catholics to remain faithful to the Sunday Mass.
Richard Lapchick, director of the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, admitted to The Boston Herald that he was "kind of flabbergasted by the pope's suggestion, because it seems like it's coming out of left field. We've been playing sports on Sunday his entire papacy." Of course, most professional teams, including those in Europe, play their games on Sundays. Who can imagine a Sunday afternoon between August and January without a National Football League game?
To which the pope says this: "Sunday is the supreme day of faith, an indispensable day, the day of Christian hope. Any weakening in the Sunday observance of Holy Mass weakens Christian discipleship.

Lapchick had harsh words in reply. If the Catholic church did place a ban on Sunday sports, he thinks the church would lose congregants. "Sports is a religion in this country and a lot of the world," he said.

and then and I Jerry  might add........................ "But Pope when will they get to drink their Beer !"

But then I read about Dale Ernhart Jr....and his interwview on 60 minutes and see there is yet
hope !
The first thing Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants you to know is that he doesn't want to "put some weird...psycho twist" on this, but he believes his late father "had a lot to do with me getting out of that car." That car, of course, was the burning race car from which he miraculously escaped in July after a horrific crash in Sonoma, Calif. The NASCAR star spoke from his heart for a "60 Minutes" interview that airs on Wednesday on CBS. Dale Earnhardt Sr. was killed in 2001 in a race wreck during the final lap of the Daytona 500. Now Dale Jr. insists that he felt his father's presence on that day in July when he escaped from his flaming car with second-degree burns on this legs, neck, and chin--but otherwise alive and well. He swears someone helped him out of the car. As soon as he reached safety, he wanted to know who it was. Earnhardt explained to Mike Wallace on "60 Minutes" that he grabbed one of his representatives by the collar, "screaming at him to find the guy that pulled me out of the car. He was like, 'Nobody helped you get out,' and I was like, 'That's strange because I swear somebody...had me underneath...my arms and was carrying me out of the car.'" Was that someone his father? The son admits, "Yeah, I don't know. You tell me. It...freaks me out today just talking about it. It just gives me chills."

Respose Poll ?

"Was it Dales Father that lifted him out of that burning car car?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.....HAS DALE, JR., GIVEN ANY THOUGHT TO THE FACT THAT A BIGGER PRESENCE THAN HIS FATHER LIFTED HIM OUT OF THE CAR?

2.As for what this post is really about....Jr. and what he feels was his dad helping him, I do believe in that. I won't argue anymore about it, it's senseless. I'm a Jr. fan and respect him for his beliefs.  I also applaude him for going public with those beliefs. In this day and age it takes a real man/woman to speak out as he has about this controversial subject. So many take words like his out of context and blow it all out of proportion, as we have all seen in this forum.  I'm sure there will be fans that think he is "wacko" now that he has said this, and they are entitled to their opinions just as I am, but I feel no less for Jr. now....but more.  God Bless you Jr. I stand behind you all of the way.

3. I believe that Dale Sr. did indeed help Jr. out of his burning car - Dale Sr. loved the sport, and was very proud of what he saw Jr. becoming. He will continue looking out for him, too. Old Ironhead won't give up that easily!

more responses if interested  can be read at:

But we know very well who pulled him out of that burning inferno don't we !

Praise God fo what he has shown us and what he will give to us this day ....Praise his Holy Name  !.

                                                                                          God Bless and have a Good Day !

Soldiers of Christ, Arise
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Charles Wesley, 1707-1788
Musician:  George J. Elvey, 1816-1893

Soldiers of Christ, arise,
And put your armor on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies
Thro' His eternal Son;
Strong in the Lord of hosts,
And in His mighty pow'r,
Who in the strength of Jesus trusts
Is more than conqueror.

Stand, then, in His great might,
With all His strength endued;
And take, to arm you for the fight,
The panoply of God.
That having all things done,
And all your conflicts past,
Ye may o'ercome thro' Christ alone,
And stand entire at last.

Leave no unguarded place,
No weakness of the soul;
Take ev'ry virtue, ev'ry grace,
And fortify the whole.
From strength to strength go on,
Wrestle and fight and pray;
Tread all the pow'rs of darkness down,
And win the wellfought day.

Good Morning. It looks pretty wet outside this morning, but I don't think it has rained. Then again maybe it has. ???

Thank you for the devotional Pat, always just the right words to start my day.

Sue Yes I did get the approval from the mortgage company and  will get the approval from the Arcata Community development Program for additional funding if I can find a place within  the city limits of Arcata, unfortunately the amount of funding is not enought to buy in Arcata, the housing is very expensive there. I am also applying in Eureka for additional funding there.  (very expensive there too). These are First Time Buyer's Programs.

However I am going to wait on God to see what he has for me. I don't want to be ahead of God. Patiences is not one of my virtues.

Just a quick note to say "Good Morning".  Just dropped in for a little "devotional" time and was so elated to find two songs today.  I had never see the words "Jehovah Tsidkenu", but I do recognize the tune and the words.

I have a service man coming this a.m. to do a fall cleaning and checkup of my furnace. Better to check it now and not in the dead of winter, right?

Thanks again Pat for the devotional and for all that you do for us on this website.

Hope you all have a good and Blessed Day.

I didn't wake up until 8:00 this morning, so missed my swim.  But I must have needed the sleep.

Good posts already this morning, thanks to all of you.

After a two day search, we finally found Cookie's puppies!!  She had made a snug little den down in the trash pit, underneath a slab of old concrete and tin from the trailer we tore down.  There are four of them--cute, fat little butterballs.  Two chocolate brown and two black, all with white markings.  We brought them into the garage and made her a nice bed in a dark closet, and she seems very content to stay there.  Abby cannot wait to come see them!  I need to take some pictures.  They are almost as big as Mieka's puppy, but a bit younger; they don't have their eyes open yet.

Mary Frances, it is good to have you posting, and I do agree this is the time to get furnaces checked.  We are wondering what the price for propane will be this winter, what with gas being $1.94 per gallon.  But God will provide.

Hi, Soni!  I agree with you and Jenny---I love oranges.  Also apples, peaches, cherries...pears, most all fresh fruits.  And they are all good for us.

Jerryc, I'm glad Pat and her sister have spoken.  Now the ice is broken and healing can begin.  It is sad that families allow these things to go on so long, but God is always standing by to help in the healing of the breach.  I pray things will continue to get better.

I hadn't heard about Dale Jr. but it sure sounds like the work of an angel to me!  ;D  I know some people believe loved ones become angels after death, but that isn't what the Word teaches.

Beth is continuing to decline in her ability to move her legs. :'(  But God is good, and we are managing.
I am so thankful that she has a positive attitude, and is NOT a whiner!  ;D

I need to look up something on here, talk to you later!

I came back to say to Marilyn---I'm glad you are going to be able to get a home of your own.  What a blessing from the Lord!  (((hugs)))

Oh how sweet those little puppies.  To bad they have to grow up. hehehe...
I am sorry to hear about Beth.  (((hug))) Janet

Karmat, how is the potty training boot camp going with little Tas?  I know boys can be more stuburn than girls.  Hope it is going well.  Howdy Nards!

I am off to get ready for my day.  Hope you all have a good one.

Remember what Janet posted yesterday?

How much can you do today?

This is my goal for the day!

QuoteToday, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her and how much she means to me.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We have an overcast day here in Georgia.  It was sunny earlier.  My neighbor across the street is having every window in his home replaced as the seals had broken in most of them, the wood was rotting around them  and he was getting some leaks.  The house is less than 8 years old so the builder must have used cheap materials.  Fortunately I had a different builder plus had all wooden surfaces covered in vinyl so have had no problems.

Don't know whether we will be going to supper at the church this evening as it will depend on how Pat is feeling by this evening.  She had a really rough day yesterday with her fibromyalgia and I don't think she is feeling very good today.  If we don't go to dinner, I will go to choir practice later.

Marilyn, happy to read that your were approved for the loan as it should make your home hunting much more enjoyable.

Janet, glad you found the puppies and I look forward to seeing the pictures of them.  Baby puppies and kittens are so cute.  Beth sorry to hear that you are experiencing more problems in moving your legs.

Sonja, I remember how busy we were in keeping up with two children so can hardly imagine how busy you all must be in getting everyone where they need to be and deciding where you will be when there is duplication of activities in the same time period.

Mary Francis, good idea to have your furnace checked.  We usually do that each season.

Hi Alma.

JerryC, what an interesting posting.  I agree with Janet that it wasn't his father as that is not Biblical.  Interesting information on the Pope's decree but fear he is fighting a losing battle.  Also glad to read of the beginning of the breaking down of the barrier between your wife and her sister.  Those first steps are always the hardest.

Rachelle,  if you can cut out the white from your diet you will undobutedly be seeing progress.  This was the key for me and I still try to limit both to maintain what I have accomplished.

Jenny, hope you see some sunshine over your way.  It is nice of you to get up to be with your son before he leaves for work.

Pat, that was a most interesting devotional today.

Papa John, this week is speeding by.  Glad you are enjoying your vacation.

A special greeting to all those who posted yesterday and who I haven't commented to today.  I have read all your postings.

Hello everyone!!  It is a slow day at work today, and that is good, because my mind is in slow gear.  Not that the latter is that all unusual.

Potty boot camp?  Well, let's see.  He'll go one day in "big boy" underwear for a few hours, then forget he doesn't have a diaper on.  I know he's had an accident when I hear, "uh-oh.  Oh, baby."   It is kinda of funny.  We keep trying.  Sometimes he surprises us.  We went one entire day (traveling in TN no less) and he wore the same pull up all day long.  So, I know he can do it, he's just got to be motivated enough to stick with it.  My goal is by Christmas. :-)

I'm going to go start a fire under one of my students to finish a math test!!

Laters!

(PS -- Jerry, nards and I both were "3" fans!  No one has "replaced" him yet!)

Janet

Jerryc, those kids are adorable!  Thanks for showing them to us.

I got all the clothes pressed that have been hanging in the laundry room waiting for my attention.  That's one item off my list.  I do not enjoy ironing---well, it's not so bad once I start, but have trouble making myself get at it!  :-[

Darrel picked up a couple of things for Beth at the grocery store, and I need to take them over to her, will take my camera along and take pics of her puppy, then ours.  They are so cute and cuddly!  One little girl has her eyes open now.

Hi, Karma!  I remember when I first sat Diane on the toilet---she went!  The very first time!  I was so suprised!  She was pretty well trained by the age of one year.  One time we were travelling, and she went the entire day without going.  I tried to get her to go, but there were no bathrooms, and she just wouldn't.  I know she was miserable by the time we got home. :-\  Uh...don't ask about the others--totally different story there! ;) ;D

Revival: A Revival of Repentance

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and
pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
--2 Chronicles 7:14

I have little fear that any nation or combination of nations could
bring down the United States and Canada by military action from
without. But this I do fear-we sin and sin and do nothing about
it. There is so little sense of the need of repentance-so little
burden for the will of God to be wrought in our national life. I
fear that the voice of blood will become so eloquent that God
Almighty will have no choice but to speak the word that will bring
us down.

I do pray often: "Oh God, send a revival of repentance and the
fear of God that will sweep through the continent that we may be
spared and that we may honor Thee!"  Echoes from Eden, 44.

"Lord, I pray for our country today. We've deteriorated morally so
horribly since Tozer's day. I too pray, 'Oh God, send a revival of
repentance and the fear of God that will sweep through the
continent that we may be spared and that we may honor Thee!'
Amen."

Folks, remember that there is power in praise!
Everytime that God's children begin to sing His praises and give Him thanks for all that He has done and is doing, then victory comes suddenly.
Lift up your heads, for your Salvation draws near, yes, the word is near you, even on your lips!
Lets begin to honour Jesus with our lives and also with a loud shout, in the midst of our troubles and trials God will be near us, with a hand reaching out to steady us lest we stumble,
and even if we do stumble, we are not cast headlong!
We can't stop birds flying over our head, but we don't have to let them nest in our hair!
Have we so soon forgotten 2nd Chronicles ch. 20. that wonderful command to praise God our Deliverer!!
Lets take that victory from Him, He gives it to those who walk by faith not by sight.
Don't look at the problems.. look at Him."  .All power in heaven and earth is given unto Me!"
Lets sing, lift your voices, clear those lungs!

Can I share an experience that happened to me just minutes ago ????  Sure I can.

I got an email my one of daughters and her marriage is in danger.  So I posted an "Unspoken Request" on the Prayer Topic.

This was the first time I have ventured onto that topic (I know I know...why did I wait so long?)

As I scrolled through the prayer requests and opened the responses...I read them and while doing so, I felt the Holy Spirits presence come upon me.  The hairs on my arms stood up and I knew I was walking/entering Holy Ground.

God reads every one of those posts and through His people (you) thousands of requests are posted and His people pray for them...each one of them.

I was a little overcome when I saw 29 pages of responses for one of the requests.....WOW !!!!  TERRIFIC !!!

Just wanted to share that with you.

Whew!  I can't believe how long it's been since I posted here.  I've been so involved with a huge free-lance project and spending so much time on the computer for that, that by evening I had no desire to even look at, much less turn on, a computer.   Then just when things calmed down I had computer problems.  Closely followed by ISP problems.  But I'm back...  I hope.

Jeanne:  I have missed you so much.  I am so happy to see you back posting.  You are one buusy gal, I know.

Janet:  Oh, how anxious I am to see pictures of all the puppies.  Imagine, little Cookie, hiding her precious family like that. Thankfully, you were able to find them, and move them to a safe location.  Do you plan to sell the puppies?  Is this Cookies first litter?  We should have a "Puppy Naming Contest"....what do you think?.....LOL

Pat:  I've never heard of that hymn, "Soldiers of Christ Arise"., although, the tune sounded familiar.

Last night I put our dog Rags out around 11:pm for his last visit to the back yard., well, I wasn't paying attention, and got myself ready for bed....completely forgot about him until I heard a little whining, and scratching on the door. Here it was after 12:am....poor little guy sure was happy to get inside, and I was VERY happy to HAVE him come inside. Guess I won't do that again....I hope.

We had Rags to a dog-sitter while we were away in Pennsylvania last week.  He sure is clingy to us, and when he saw me putting away the suitcase, I think he thought we were getting ready to go again.  They are pretty smart at times, eh?

Oh....did anyone happen to see the Dr. Phil show today?  He and his wife Robin interviewed President and Mrs Bush.  It was an excellent interview, and the announcer, in his commentary stated that Predient Bush was a "born again Christian".  That was SO GOOD to hear!

God Bless President Bush.  If I was an American citizen, I sure know who I would be voting for!!
"I am too blessed to be stressed".
