Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

              MAPLE LEAVES
                 Beverly McLoughland

The leafy ceiling of the maple tree
Spreads wide and golden over me.
It looks as though the branches hold
A hundred million leaves of gold.
A hundred million leaves or more---
                               Less one...
                                      Or two...
                                            Or three...
                                                   Or four....

                       LET GO OR GET DRAGGED

The name "Benedict Arnold" is synonymous with "traitor." But he was actually a loyal citizen of what was to become the United States, a gallant soldier and a five-star general. Wounded twice in battle, he was highly respected for his military leadership.  He even enjoyed the friendship of George Washington.

But during the Revolutionary War, Arnold saw five subordinates promoted over him, and the blow to his esteem was more than he could manage. The injury to his pride was far greater than those physical injuries he sustained in battle. So he laid plans to get revenge.

In 1780, he attempted to betray vital West Point to the British. He later moved to England and was paid a sum of money to compensate for his property loss, but he was never fully accepted in British society. He eventually returned to trading and died a mostly unsuccessful and unhappy man. His downfall was not greed -- his problem was rather one of jealousy.

Do you know who is the most difficult person to love? It is easy to love friends and not too difficult to love those less fortunate than ourselves. It certainly isn't easy loving enemies, but sometimes the person most difficult to love is the one who is MORE fortunate than we are. The one who receives the promotion we deserved. The one who gets the recognition we desired, the honor we sought or the affections of the lover we had hoped to win. It is easy to resent those who seem to be more fortunate.

But as one person said to me, "Let go, or get dragged. Unless you let things go, you should be prepared to have that thing drag you around until you do let it go." Even envy. Let it go or get dragged.

Besides, if you ever want to grab onto something good, you'll need a free hand.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  But If you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Matt. 6:14-15

Good morning!  Sorry about the problem last night.  CP went down in the middle of my struggle to make a link, and I couldn't get it corrected.  But thankfully, Pat came to the rescue!  Thanks, Pat.

I'm not hurting nearly so much this morning, I'm sure I'll be all right.  I know better than to let my back/neck go so long without getting an adjustment when I need one, but..........

Beth has an eye appointment today, and I need to get this framing done, more frames ordered, etc.  So it will be another busy one for me.

Isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful?

Papa John

Good morning Pat and Janet.

Janet, I’m glad you are having less pain today.  For a number of years I have learned to live with pain with the help of Ultram and Skelaxin and of course with the help of the Lord.  Some days it is very bad and some days it isn’t so bad.  It is caused by muscle strain, arthritis, and bulging disks.

Rev 21:4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."  (NIV)

Another beautiful day here.  I hope you all have a good day.  Marilyn we all hope you will find a lender soon who will help you.  God bless you.

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Good Morning To Pat, Janet, Jenny, Ria, and Papa John.

Janet that is an excellent devotional this morning I din't know those facts about Benedict Arnold.Thank you. I do hope you are feeling better today and weill go get your adjustment.

I didn't measn to leave anyone out I do covet all of your prayers. I only want to be within the will of God, in this. If God doesn't want me to have this particular house, then I know he has something better for me, even if  have to wait until the very last minute to move. He will provide a place for me to keep my beloved dogs with me for the rest of their lives.

I spoke to Fay's family last night and she is coming home today. The doctors have made arrangements for the Home Health nurses to come to change her bandages, the wound is still draining. (not a good sign). I just pray that she will be able to get up and walk without my assistance, if she should fall there is no way I would be able to life her. I would have to call the fire dept. to get her up. I will let you allo know how it goes.

Pat: I have posted a link down in digital Art to my Artists PSP lessons or the 3 weeks I have completed so far. Only two more weeks to go
.

G'mornin' y'all.  Please pray for me today - I will take this computer in to the shop in about an hour or a little more, get data downloaded into a new one, then take the new one home, try to set it up and get back in business.  Blessings upon all.

Skief ~ Yeah, right!  He is a skinny guy like I am skinny like Sonja!!!  No comparison!!  Besides what we look like on the outside doesn't compare to what we are on the inside, right?

Janet ~ Alright a ready!!!  Slow down.  I am huffing and puffing just reading your posts!!

Marilyn ~ Did you tell the lenders that blue is your favorite color and that you look good in blue?  That should help.  Humor aside, I am praying you find just the right home at just the right price.

Papa John ~ I do believe that the reason for the cortizone injection in my neck was due to this computer.  It MADE me sit here and do my PSP lessons last year and put a strain on my neck.  No, I know I could have gotten up but I kept sitting here and it cost me a lot of pain until I found relief that cost my insurance an arm and a leg.  So I am trying to limit my time on the computer.  I think I need a timer that dings when my time is up!!!  That's an idea!!  I don't take any pain meds yet.

Al ~ Congrats on the new I-Mac.  I live a sheltered life and have never seen an I-Mac.  Some love them, some wouldn't never have them.  Hope you love yours!

Today is sunny but cold.  It didn't get as cold as they predicted but it got cold.  While I was watching TV last night, a farmer was plowing the field across the road from me.  Seemed weird to see headlights going up and down the field.  I guess the farmer was in a hurry to get the dirt turned under before hard freezes.  Now don't feel sorry for the farmer.  He was sitting in an enclosed area that was heated with stereo CD music playing in his ears.  Such a hard life.  Looks funny out there today....all dark dirt instead of soy bean stubble.

Good Morning.  It is only 7:30 A.M. and looking like it might be a nice day today.  Misty and I were out with the garbage as it is collection day.  Misty sleeps in the garage and I feed her and get her outdoors before the car takes Amanda to school.  Misty like to sleep on a blanket on the hood of the car......seems to feel safer there....Sure hope this won't be another foggy day.  Scary when out on the highway!

Today is market day as the kids have to go to Victoria for Dr. appointments and I have two eye appointments in another town, all falling on our Wednesday Market Day.  Fun :-\

Marilyn, I am praying for you and hope that things work out for your home.

Al, don't envy you the computer problems.  Hope the transition goes smoothly.  The Mac is like a different species......great for graphics, tho'.

I get data from a Christian News site and they mentioned something sort of amusing.  Churches are using the old Andy Griffith and Mayberry story to inspire folks.  There is a site:   www.barneyfile.com that explains.  Kind of amusing ;D

Well, I am off to start my day.  Hope everyone has a Pleasant Day and God Bless.

He Keeps Me Singing
(Click to hear music)

My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
Psalm 63:5

Luther B. Bridges, 1884-1948

There's within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,
In all of life's ebb and flow.

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.

Refrain

Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting 'neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.

Refrain

Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

Refrain

Soon He's coming back to welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.

Refrain

Spiritual Warfare and Sin: Increased Hostility

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about
like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
--1 Peter 5:8

As we move farther on and mount higher up in the Christian life we
may expect to encounter greater difficulties in the way and meet
increased hostility from the enemy of our souls....

Satan hates the true Christian for several reasons. One is that
God loves him, and whatever is loved by God is sure to be hated by
the devil. Another is that the Christian, being a child of God,
bears a family resemblance to the Father and to the household of
faith. Satan's ancient jealousy has not abated nor his hatred for
God diminished in the slightest. Whatever reminds him of God is
without other reason the object of his malignant hate.

A third reason is that a true Christian is a former slave who has
escaped from the galley, and Satan cannot forgive him for this
affront. A fourth reason is that a praying Christian is a constant
threat to the stability of Satan's government. The Christian is a
holy rebel loose in the world with access to the throne of God.
Satan never knows from what direction the danger will come.  That
Incredible Christian, 71.

"Lord, it's not hard to see why Satan attacks. May I continue to
be enough of a threat to him to merit his attention! Don't ever
let me become so anemic in my Christian walk that he doesn't need
to bother with me. Amen."

Jenny, BF/GF is Boyfriend and Girlfriend!  ;D ;)  I must say, I have never seen Beth so happy as she is right now.  I know a lot is due to the great reduction in her level of pain, and a lot is due to John's telling her he loves her. 8)  I pray the trend continues, and she continues to hunger and thirst for God.  Praise His name, He is due all the praise and glory!!!

Dear Larry, feel better soon...........(((hugs))).

Etta Sue.........I'm trying!  But so much to do, and so little time; and only one of me!  Huff, puff....

Marilyn, glad you enjoyed today's devotional, thanks for telling me you did.

Another problem has arisen........Beth's toilet is broken, so Darrel is trying to figure out how to repair that.

I came back to tell you Beth is getting new glasses.  Tomorrow she goes back to the medical doctor and the dentist.  Then she shouldn't have to have any more appointments for a while!

Footsteps of Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'.
Matthew 16:24

Words - Mary B.C. Slade, 1826-1882
Music - Asa B. Everett, 1871

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.

Refrain
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where'er they go.

Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam's fountains,
Helping the weak.

Refrain

If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.

Refrain

Then at last, when on high he sees us
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
end at his throne.

PRIMROSE:  Congratulations to John and Beth.  I am so happy for you.  Next, we will be hearing that wedding bells will be ringing!!

Beth - what breed is your little dog?  You are so fortunate that Darrell is able to fix things for you.  I sure hope that your w/c is working now....LOL :D

Lots of new things to keep us busy here on CP.  I'm enjoying the new games.

I did ask where the guest book was.....was there a reply?  If there was, I've missed it.

Thanks.,

Beth~I am so happy for you and John ... I just had to come out of the corner long enough to let you know!   ;)

Today is the 11th anniversary of my youngest granddaughter's birthday ... I phoned to let her know how much I love her and found out that I also have a new great grandson!  Jacob Ryan was born to my granddaughter, Candice, on October 16.  Shows you how closely my family stays in touch with me!    :-\

Anyway, that makes 6 great grandchildren (four boys and two girls) for me, and 8 grandchildren (three boys and 5 girls) .... time sure has a way of marching on, doesn't it?
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

Well hey there, John!  What a nice surprise to see you posting today!  Please come and do that more often!

Congrats on the new great grand, Jane.  Yep, time waits for none of us---but does it have to march across our faces?? ;)  (Mine, not yours.)

We got the "W.C." repaired, and have to get more things done for Beth before we leave.  Less than two weeks now till take-off!! ::)

Sunday was Darrel's mother's 92nd birthday, and she is still doing really well.  She walks without a cane, does pretty much whatever she wants to do.  She lives in a small apartment in Amarillo, independent living.  She goes downstairs for lunch and dinner, and someone comes in to clean for her, but that's about all the help she needs.  Isn't that great?  I hope Darrel has inherited her genes!  ;D

I overdid it again today, so the pain is back in my back, shoulders and neck.  I'm going to lie down and read for a while, or watch some TV if I can find anything fit to watch.

See y'all tomorrow!

Ruth Ann Bice

This has been one of those "pulled in every direction" days. Still dealing with broken computer at work and work is piling up. Ran an errand before work. Then, went to pick up papers for my son's disability - drove 20 miles and when I got there, they were not ready - this caused me to be late to get to work. Then, to the doctor's office to pick up my prescription shoes (which really hurt - I'm calling him tomorrow about them). Then back to the doctor's office.

So, I think this will be an early-to-bed night.

Beth and John - how wonderful!

Y'all have a great evening.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Nita

Good evening all.

First, Skeif.....thanks for the link to Stephen Baldwiin's page.  I saw him on TBN and was so delighted with his zeal and leading.  I want to order his video.  My grandson is very good.....and would recognize talent, and may be willing to hear what the skaters had to say.

Beth and John.......heh, cool!  Congratulations on becoming a couple.  And Beth, it's so good to hear that you are feeling so much better. :)

I've been feeling really tired the last couple of days.  When it hits I just have to lay down or I'm soon exhausted totally.  I'm going to the doctor next week anyway.......so will mention it to her.   I don't like feeling this way.  I'm using a C-pap machine at night now......doctor thinks I should....but I can't get the silly mask to stay sealed. :)  I asked the Lord, last night, if He wanted me to have more oxygen, andcd wasn't going to do it miraculously, then would He  keep me still so it'll stay on. :)  (Of course, I know He can do anything He wants to do).

Ursula, I had to laugh at your post about spacing the sermon. :)

have to leave and pick up Kyle from wrestling practice, so will run.  love, Nita

Ready for another hymn?

Rose of Sharon
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Solomon 2:1

There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
It will last for eternity.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me
