JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

All the world. . . guilty before God.
Romans 3:19

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
James 2:10

The psychology student, when told the gospel booklet being offered to her was about God's forgiveness of sins, refused to accept it.

She stated, "I don't believe I'm a sinner. If I believed that, it would lead to guilt; and guilt to anger, and that to feelings of inadequacy which would make me an inappropriate human being."

Quite a mouthful. Guilt is from God and is intended to drive the guilty sinner (which we all are--Rom. 3:23) to the Saviour for forgiveness of sins and fitness for heaven.

Come today.
--Wade LeBlanc Sr.

Christ receiveth sinful men,
even me with all my sin:
Purged from every spot and stain,
heaven with Him I enter in.

Janet

Hello!  I'm just breezing by on my way out the door to wave at all of you!  I just got an email from my young friend Joe, saying he plans to meet us at the airport!  Isn't that nice?  Without computers, I wouldn't even know Joe existed---or any of you, either, for that matter!

Darrel is loading the last of our bags in the car--carry ons, big ones went in last night.

Bye, and love to all of you! :-*

Morning, everyone,

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  It always help me start the day off right by reading it.  I finally figured out how to post the pictures in the gallery.  Thanks for the link of explanations.  I still have so much to learn and your site is helping me a lot.  Love taking the pictures and sharing them.

Lots to do today.  Am working on a new ebook on New Testament Characters that I hope to have finished by the weekend.  Would love to work some graphics in.

I know Etta Sue and Janet will have a grand time on their trips.  Hope they take lots of pictures to share.

Gwen

Carol

Marilyn:  You are an inspiration to finish all the PSP lessons.  I need time alone and without all the other side duties....

Mike:  What a story about travel in your part of the world.  I have heard similar stories of my cousin as when they visit their son & family in Uzbeckistan.  It was so tiring for you and I am glad that you were able to get your visitors gathered!.

I walked the treadmill and am thankful for just this as it wasn't too long ago - Sept. - that I had a sprained ankle which stopped so many things.  Our 7 year old granddaughter is visiting this week and she is eager to sew plus she brought her recipe book to make a fruit salad.  We ate popcorn and watched the Wizard of Oz last night.   :)  She likes to play computer games as well - she told me that she likes a challenging game.  When I was seven, I am sure that I never said that.

Beth:  Good that you are calling your doc about you cough - take care!

Carol

Oh, Gwen, I wish it was me traveling but it is Ruth Ann that is going to see her son in England.  My traveling will be to the grocery to get provisions for Thanksgiving dinner.

Janet, I sure wish I could be in one of your carry-ons.  I don't envy you in that long flight but I do envy you for the sights you will see while in Thailand.  Envy is a terrible word but it won't be so bad when you bring back photos to share with us.  That will take the edge off of envy.

Ruth Ann, I am so happy that you will be seeing your son in England.  I hope you got a camera so you can share photos with us.  Remember we are here to help you post.  Send a few to Pat, a few to Sonja, a few to me, a few to Marilyn...anyone who posts photos and we will see that they get posted.  Any of us will give you quick picture posting lessons so you can do your own.  After you learn, it is a no-brainer.

Chris, 10 a.m. and still in your pj's?  I don't see a thing wrong with that....unless you should be out working!!!  Sounds like a lovely day to me.

Nards, love your quick notes...lets us realize you are still thinking of us as we are thinking of youse guys!!

Sarah, you are a busy gal.  I hope you find some relaxation this week away from school.  We all need a lax time so we can go again.

Carol, I sometimes wish I had a treadmill.  I am looking for a used exercycle.  That sounds good for winter.

Pat, I know a psychology major that doesn't think that forgiveness is the answer.  Wonder why that isn't taught in college?  I know the answer, I think.  Forgiveness is biblical.  Unless you are studying the Bible in college, it is a no-no to have Bible teachings in class.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JERRY!!!
You can quit lurking for one day!

Last Wednesday in the paper it stated that 400 flu shots would be available at the Professional Building of our local hospital.  It didn't state any stipulations.  So Jerry and I went this morning.  It was raining so we took an umbrella in case we had to stand outside.  But we went in the door and down into the basement following the signs to the Health Center.  No one was in line.  A young lady asked me if I was coming for a flu shot.  Yes.  Are you 65 or older?  No.  Do you have a health problem?  No.  Well, you need to be 65 or with a health problem to get a flu shot.  But the paper didn't state that.  Another lady said it didn't state stipulations on the front page but on page 8, it did state stipulations.  I said, Can't you give me a shot anyway since there is no waiting line?  Not unless you have a health problem.  Do you have a health problem.  Well, I have Bladder Cancer.  She said, There you go.  You have a health problem!  So I got my flu shot this morning.  I tend to think of my Bladder Cancer as an inconvenience instead of a problem.

Hey Beth!   Great to see you posting.  You know you won't need your mother to post your photos for you.  You can open up your own little gallery right here on CP and then post your own.  You just maybe will have to have your mother re-size them for you but you can learn how to do that too.

Just click on the Gallery button above and see the photos that folks have already uploaded to our very own CP Photo Gallery.  And you can have one too as a member of CP.

So, that will be a surprise to your mother!

Hope you get all the groceries in that you need and the cards sure sound nice.

Hi everyone.  It is really a gloomy, but not cold, day here in Georgia.  It is afternoon and we still have some fog out there.

I spent the morning working on my wife's laptop (my old laptop) so she can access her files, have her passwords, and use her favorities rather than mine.  I prepared some instructions so that she can access and save any files she wants onto her desktop so everything will be in one place.  All this took a couple of hours.

I just ate lunch and as soon as I finish here am going to rest for a while and then go to the "y" to walk.  This evening I have a Worship Comittee meeting at the church.  So that will be my exciting day.

Last week I ordered some ink for my printer but I didn't think it had been delivered.  So I called the company this morning and they tracked it and said it had been delivered last Wednesday.  I opened my front door and there was the little box stuck back under the overhang and it was fine.  The PO doesn't even ring the bell anymore when they deliver something like that.  I couldn't see it when driving in the garage or getting the mail so hadn't seen it.  Fortunately it was still dry, even though we have had quite a bit of rain.  The ink was fine as it is sealed up.

Etta Sue, glad you were able to get your flu shot.  Did Jerrry get his.

Beth, glad you will be having Thanksgiving dinner with relatives and hope you are feeling much better by then.

Carol, hope you have a great time with your granddaughter.  Wouldn't like to have some of that energy these young folks have?

Happy Birthday, Jerry.

Chris, enjoy your day off.  Hope our travelers have a safe day of travel.  I can't imagine sitting in a plane for 25 hours.

Gwen, are you an author?

Pat, the person described in the devotional this morning certainly has a strange philosophy of life.  I don't think life is lived that way very successfully.

Well, time for a little snooze! :D

Chris, it's great to hear from you and I'm not going to say anything to you for being in your PJ's at 10 am!!!!  You should see me sometimes and much later!  I remember well the gales when I lived in Northern Ireland.  We weren't all that far from the sea and they just whipped around.  But you know what?  I miss that!

Chris, you go to the Photo Gallery too and open up your little own spot and then you'll be able to post the intermediate sized one in our challenge.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you have.

Give Mum a hug for me!

And hurry back!

Speaking of Posting Photos...

I notice that many are uploading photos that are very small.  That's fine with me but maybe a bit difficult to see?  If you resize your photos before compressing them to about 500 or 600 pixels and keep that one that you resize to about 50K or a little larger, you'll be just fine and upload that one and then when folks go to your gallery to see your photos, they can click on the one showing and see it larger.

If you upload a photo that isn't at least 400 pixels wide or high, there's nothing to see when you click.

For our British friends having gales right now...

MASTER, THE TEMPEST IS RAGING[/u]
(Click to hear music)

Master, the tempest is raging!
The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness,
No shelter or help is nigh;
Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep,
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?

Refrain
The winds and the waves obey Thy will,
Peace, be still!
Whether the wrath of the storm tossed sea,
Or demons or men, or whatever it be
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean, and earth, and skies;
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, be still! Peace, be still!
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, peace, be still!

Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today;
The depths of my sad heart are troubled
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul;
And I perish! I perish! dear Master
Oh, hasten, and take control.

Refrain

Master, the terror is over,
The elements sweetly rest;
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
And heaven's within my breast;
Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more;
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor,
And rest on the blissful shore.

Refrain

Good morning.  I'm just checking in.

I've just spent $75 to get my dryer fixed, and at the same time found out my washer is going too.  Wow.  Everything happens at once.  I'm hoping it will last till after Christmas.
With the $85 to get Amy spayed, it's  a tight month. :)  Oh well, my Father knows just how much I need.

The man that was interested in taking Amy.......said he had teenagers!  I'd told them she was afraid of teens, but somehow it was translated that she was afraid of little lkids.s  So she's with me for awhile longer.  Bless her sweet little heart.

Gotta run to town to get some groceries, but just wanted to say HI before I left.  All God's blessings to you all.     love, Nita

Spiritual Warfare and Sin: Distractions

And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried
and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary
has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."
--Luke 10:41-42

Failing in his frontal attacks upon the child of God, Satan often
turns to more subtle means of achieving his evil purpose. He resorts
to devious methods in his attempt to divert the Christian from
carrying out the task God has committed to him. He often succeeds by
involving the saint in some other lesser occupation and so
distracting him....

Satan's distracting words often come from the most unexpected
quarters. Martha would call Mary away from sitting at the feet of
the Master. Sometimes, if we are not careful, our best friend may
distract us. Or it might be some very legitimate activity. This
day's bustle and hurly-burly would too often and too soon call us
away from Jesus' feet. These distractions must be immediately
dismissed, or we shall know only the "barrenness of busyness."  We
Travel an Appointed Way, 28-29.

"Father, keep me today from the myriad distractions that would
keep me from the main thing. I long to stay at Jesus' feet. Deliver
me today from the 'barrenness of busyness.' Amen."

Hello everyone!!  Sorry to be absent for so long at a time.  At the Shuford house, we are being communicationally challenged.  First, the Internet went bonkers.  Then, it started working, sortof.  Then, the phones went out.  So no phone or Internet (we have dial up).  Then the phones came back on but the Internet was spotty.  Then, the computer seems to have gotten into a funk, so it won't work.  Arrrgghh.  I'm at work now (the only day this week) so I will take this time to say

HAPPY THANKSGIVING (Americans)

and I hope everyone else has a wonderful, wonderful, week!!!!

Papa John

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I believe it was Thoreau who was asked if he had made peace with God, answered, “I have never fought with Him.”  Obviously people who deny they have sinned cannot seek forgiveness.

Larry, I’m glad you got your ink all right.  As we drive into our driveway we can see a package in the door unless it is very small.

We went to early service yesterday so we could come home early.  We had daughters, grandchildren and their husbands, etc. for dinner which was actually a brunch.  When we all got around the table there were 13 of us.

Last night after service we had dinner together and a Talent night.  There was singing, skits, etc.  It was fun but we were out later than usual.  Tonight we are having some old friends over for dinner.

Our prayers are with Ruth Ann and also Janet as they travel.  Hopefully they will be able to post.  I know when my brother is in Thailand he is able to send us email.

Good to see you all today. Pat, Chris, Nards, Sarah, Gwen, Carol, Etta Sue, Logar, Beth, Larry, Nita, Chris and Margit, and kamrat.

2 Cor 13:14  The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.  (KJV)

Pastor Al (May I can you Pastor or do you prefer Al on this site?)

Thanks for clearing up the fog in my mind on yesterdays quote "Souls in Heaven are more holy but not more secure."

The reason I asked for more of the quote, so I could see the contest of the whole thing.  When I looked at with your explanation, I still didn't see it...

Then I looked again and the lightbulb went off...AHA, I get it....surely souls in Heaven become more holy......but never more secure than they were to begin with.

Thanks again

Just stopped by to catch up on the postings since I last posted so thought I would add another posting.  I just got back from going to the "Y", the store and the library and I am really worn out so have written to the worship committee co-chairman to say I didn't plan to try to get out again.  I had planned to attend but better judgment  tells me to stay in tonight and get to bed early.

It is still raining here and really has been a dreary day.  Hope it has been better where you all are.  Of course, we need the blessing of the rain and it isn't cold so am not complaining.

Karma, glad you were able to get in for a quick post.  That phone situation has to be very frustrating and now the computer acting up.  :'(

Papa John, you all have a very busy schedule.  Enjoy your dinner with your friends tonight.

Nita, sorry about the additional expense you are facing.  It seems like there is always something coming along that we hadn't budgeted for on our fixed income.  However, you are quite correct that God provide what we need.

Pat, Eddie and Chris nice to see you posting this afternoon.  Pat, thanks for posting the hymn.

I am finally here at 6:30 PN rather than AM.  I opened my maile box (computer) this morning and had 35 emails when I got home this afternoon there were 56 :o. All from PSP Masters. Whew, I didn't thnk I would ever get so much email on aol. On yahoo yes!!  :-X

I spent much of the day running around with Fay from doctor to hopsital for and ultra sound on her leg and lab tests. Her right leg is extremely swollen, she is retaining water. The doc thought it was a blood clot.

Got to go now just want to tell every one thanks for looking at my PSP pages. Thank you for the lovely compliments.  I see a couple of people in Masters that I know from here and other places.

Judy McKenna

Well, its really my bedtime, but I wanted to pop in here to say a quick "Hi", before I say "bye"...only for a day or two.  The next two days are quite busy, and I doubt if I'll get any time for the computer.

Did anyone see 'Larry King" tonight?  He had Rev Rick Warren on. (he wrote The Purpose Driven Life).  It was an excellent interview, and Rick had more than one opportunity to explain the gospel to Larry.

Also, I heard that Rev Billy Graham preached his last crusade on Sunday in California.  I heard him being interviewed on radio, where he stated that he was 86 years old!  God has certainly used Billy Graham for the Kingdom, hasn't he!

Larry - you posted such an interesting post....both you and Etta Sue always remember to comment on everyone, and comment on what everyone has posted.  I really appreciate that!

Jerry (the gabby one).  A very Happy Birthday to you!  Did you get a piece of that birthday cake Pat had for you?
(I snuck a piece when you wern't looking ;D)

talk to you all very soon.....
