JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

Fair weather and smooth sailing is not the norm in life; not even in the most dedicated believer's life. Times come when "doubts assail and fears dismay."

John the Baptist, in a gloomy prison cell, faced doubts.

Elijah became fearful and, so discouraged he wished to die.

Jeremiah at one point felt deceived and said he would no more speak of Him (Jer. 20:7-9).

At such times, we need to remember His past mercies and recognize that His Almighty hand still holds us. The power of that Hand is beyond imagination and His loving care is just as great.

May we learn to trust Him more.
--E. Dyck

'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Louisa M. R. Stead, 19th Century
Musician:  William J. Kirkpatrick, 1838-1921

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, "Thus says the Lord!"

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Refrain

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

Refrain

I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Refrain

I'm listening to the songs.."eye on the sparrow" and then "tis so sweet"
What a way to start the day.  May all of us show God's blessings to all we see today.

Will be going to Carolina Opry's  Christmas concert at Myrtle Beach on Saturday with some of our church members.  Looking forward to it.

Preacher Al, I'm trying to catch up on the Roman study.   When we studied it at church I don't think I got as much out of it as I should...even though I tried to study in my Bible at home.

God's blessings to all today..kathy :)

Good morning, friends. Must leave for work early - much to do and little time to do it in. My boss travels so much that the days he's in town we try to cram in as much as possible. So, today's a "cram day."

Larry, I'll probably be headed your way early tomorrow morning. Please keep the snowman away...

Thank you, Pat for today's message.  It is so simple, why can't we always remember to Just Trust

Al:  Thanks for the reply.  It sounds like you have your leg problems under control.  I will be testing this problem when we drive to Arizona and it will be hot there but the cool weather here and new BP meds have helped enormously.

Whatever you may think of the war in Iraq, Afghanistan I just wanted to let you know of a few sites to go if you would like to donate a little towards the wounded & their families.  I am blessed to have SS checks monthly and although it is being saved for a newer auto at some time - this is more important to me.

The Pentagon:  www.defenselink.mil   can tell you where to donate blood or help provide assistance to military families through Army Relief & Navy-Marine Relief organizations.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, c/o Red Cross, 6900 Georgia Ave., Washington, D.C. 20307  can use phone cards, postage stamps, breakaway sweat pants (with zippers or snaps)

I made my donation to :
Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund
Go to:  www.1stmarinedivisionassociation.org/Injured-Marine-Fund.htm

It is not my intention to offend anyone with this information.  This is an issue that weighs heavy on my mind.

Today, I am off to a potluck with a quilting group and then I must get home and fix food for a tea tomorrow.

Good morning all!  What a lovely day of shopping for Ivalou and I yesterday.  And it was truly enhanced by the company of each other.  I am sometimes amazed at how well Ivalou and I get along.  Especially when I hear others praise our relationship and hear how other sisters do not get along.  My prayer for them is to let differences go by the way side, forgive and enjoy each other's friendship.  I am truly blessed to have a sister like Ivalou.  Anyway, Ivalou got her shopping done.  I am done with my shopping and now we just need to wrap the presents and wait until Christmas Day.  I love spending Christmas Day with her family.  They are my family, too.  I love all of them.

Am I feeling nostaligia or not?

Still warm for December 10th Indiana weather.  47°F outside.  Gloomy but warm.  I went outside to shake some throw rugs and went out barefoot on the deck!!!  On DECEMBER 10TH!  How cool is that?

Hmm, I believe you said about 47.  hahahahah.  It's in the high50's low 60's here, right now, though they are calling for a cold weekend and snow in the higher elevations tonight and tomorrow.

I've got a week's worth of work to do today.  Just call me Karma, Queen of Procrastination, so I had better run along.

Take care!!!!

Pat - how are your knees?  I've got to go in to see the Dr. this afternoon - possible internal infection.  I think it's antibiotic time for me.  Did you have to see the Dr. for your knees?

Trials and Pain: Few Lovers of His Cross

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will
of God, you may receive the promise.
--Hebrews 10:36

When God needs a person for His service-a good person, an effective
person, a humble person-why does He most often turn to a person in
deep trouble? Why does He seek out a person deep in the crucible of
suffering, a person who is not the jovial, "happy-happy" kind? I
can only say that this is the way of God with His human creation....

Ezekiel did not come out of pleasant and favorable circumstances.
The light had gone out in his heart. He probably thought that God
takes a long time to work out His will.

Does not this same view surface in much of our Christian
fellowship? We do not want to take the time to plow and to
cultivate. We want the fruit and the harvest right away! We do not
want to be engaged in any spiritual battle that takes us into the
long night. We want the morning light right now! We do not want to
go through the processes of planning and preparation and labor
pains. We want the baby this instant!

We do not want the cross. We are more interested in the crown.

The condition is not peculiar to our century. Thomas a Kempis
wrote long ago, "The Lord has many lovers of His crown but few
lovers of His cross."  Men Who Met God, 115.

"Lord, make me a lover of Your cross as well as a lover of Your
crown. Amen."

God, Our Father, We Adore Thee
(Click to hear music)

You received the Spirit of sonship.
And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father."
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit
that we are God's children.
Romans 8:15-16

Words: George W. Frazer
Music: John Zundel, 1870

God, our Father, we adore Thee! We, Thy children, bless Thy Name!
Chosen in the Christ before Thee, we are holy without blame.
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Abba's praises we proclaim!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Abba's praises we proclaim!

Son Eternal, we adore Thee! Lamb upon the throne on high!
Lamb of God, we bow before Thee, Thou hast brought Thy people nigh!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Son of God, Who came to die!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Son of God, Who came to die!

Holy Spirit, we adore Thee! Paraclete and heavenly Guest!
Sent from God and from the Savior, Thou hast led us into rest.
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! By Thy grace forever blessed:
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! By Thy grace forever blessed!

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Three in One! We give Thee praise!
For the riches we inherit, heart and voice to Thee we raise!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Thee we bless, through endless days!
We adore Thee! We adore Thee! Thee we bless, through endless days!

Hi everyone.  Just lost a long posting I was just about finished with when the electricity went off just long enough to shut the computers off.  So this is just going to be a checkin as don't have the time to write everything again.

I am glad we heard from Mieka and will be looking forward to her posting here soon.   Hi Mieka!

Happy Birthday Aaron.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.  We have had a busy day and I am awaiting a call from the hospital to do the pre-op nurse interview.  I had an appointment for this an hour ago and was put on hold and then after a couple recycles of the hold they took my number and they are to call back before the end of the day.

My God And I

My God and I go in the field together;
We walk and talk as good friends should and do;
We clasp our hands, our voices ring with laughter;
My God and I walk through the meadow's hue.
We clasp our hands, our voices ring with laughter;
My God and I walk through the meadow's hue.

http://www.acadisc.com/sogwho.htm#my

He tells me of the years that went before me
When heavenly plans were made for me to be;
When all was but a dream of dim reflection;
To come to life, earth's verdant glory see.
When all was but a dream of dim reflection;
To come to life, earth's verdant glory see.

My God and I will go for aye together,
We'll walk and talk just as good friends do;
This earth will pass, and with it common trifles,
But God and I will go unendingly.
This earth will pass, and with it common trifles,
But God and I will go unendingly.

Okay, sorry about that Chris-- I fixed your link inside your post, because that was the only thing I could see when I scrolled down.  I wondered how everyone was posting without typing anything.  Next time, I'll scroll left to right too!!

Going to fix supper now!  Then, hopefully later, we'll put the Christmas tree up and stuff.

Jane Walker

Well!!!  I just wrote a long message and it disappeared on me!

I just wanted to let y'all know that I finally made it home from today's scheduled "ordeal."  My appointment was for 10 a.m. and I didn't get home until almost 2:30 p.m. ... True to form, for those of you who don't know me, I never am "run of the mill" or "ordinary" ... this was no exception.  There was much consulting, conferencing and pushing and poking and more x-rays preceding the actual procedure.  My poor, patient, neighbor was stuck in the waiting area all this time.  I felt badly for her, so bought her lunch before we came home.

I am a bit uncomfortable but still plan to drive to Sacramento tomorrow.  I have some things for Bryan and the only way to get them to him is to take them!  I don't have an address for either him or his mother, Joy, and I only have a cell phone number for Bryan.  There is no phone where Joy is staying, so I will just have to rely on getting someone on Bry's cell phone and then they can meet me and direct me to where they are staying.  This should be another fun adventure for this traveling grandma!

My doctor will not have the pathologist's report until late Monday and I already told everyone I will be out of town until probably late Thursday, so they said I can call my doctor when I return.

I will try to get in here again before I take off, but if I don't, let me wish all y'all a very fabulous weekend and happiness and good health to all!

love, Jane
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jerry L. Sowers

Hi to Chris and Margit.  ;)

Hi Pat, you are bound to get me to post, LOL!!!! ;D

Jane ~ I have had Arthritis so bad they had to help me out of my truck and into my car and when I got home my wife had to help me in the house, then in 1986 I had an inoperatable cancer in my stomach and in 1988 I had conjestive heart trouble, in 2000 I had lost my blood and they gave me three pints of whole blood and you know about my stroke, but I have always left it in God's hands and I have never been sorry nor have I looked back. 8) ;) I will always trust God first.
