JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

The glory which I had with Thee before the world was. . . that they may behold My glory.
John 17:5, 24

Before ever a planet hung in space or an angel served in heaven, there was God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God, inhabiting eternity, fully satisfied in the delights of divine Persons, needing nothing to fulfill Their joy. Yet somewhere in that vast sea of Life and Light and Love there arose a plan to bring creatures into being, that would share that joy and see that glory.

But what a price!

Calvary, the darkness, and the sword.

May we bow in wonder today and worship God for who He is and what He has done.
--J. Boyd Nicholson

Thine is the joy but yet 'tis mine,
'tis ours as one with Thee;
My joy flows from that grief of Thine,
Thy death brings life to me.
Anon.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

Thank goodness it's not freezing the mist that's falling, so I'll feel safe to attend church today.

My prayers are with my daughter in law and with Janet's daughter. Back problems, especially serious surgeries are reasons for continued prayer. Thanks for reminding us, Pat.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Marilyn

Good Morning I will continue to pray for both  Pam Bice and for Beth.

Pat thank you for the devotion this morning.

I am looking forward to being in the Lord's house today. Forest and I stopped in yesterday, the deacons were construction a new media center for the sound booth as well as for the power point system, It iwll all be glasses in. We also went to Willa's house, she lives right behind the church, and visited there for awhile before we went to the movies.

Got to go now.

Happy Lord's Day!!! It's His special day!  Not that every day isn't His, but this is the day He set aside for us to join the rest of His people in worship, and what a good thing that is!  I pray that each and every one of you will be specially blessed with the Spirit of worship today!  I pray that each of His ministers will be blessed with the ability to communicate His truth today!  Oh may this be a very special day for His Church, bought by His Blood, saved by His grace!  Amen!

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

I slept in!

I had a restless night and finally dropped off to sleep very late and my alarm was going off for a whole hour and I never heard it!

Now, I'm going to go up to Ian's home for the rest of the day to watch little David Hugh!  Ian is moving his business from where they are to another building and a little two year old can certainly get in the way!  So I won't be around now till late tonight.

Praying for Pam and Beth today.

According To Thy Gracious Word
(Click to hear music)

He took bread, gave thanks and broke it,
and gave it to them, saying ‘This is My body given for you;
do this in remembrance of Me.’
Luke 22:19

Words: James Montgomery

According to Thy gracious word,
In meek humility,
This will I do, my dying Lord,
I will remember Thee.

Thy body, broken for my sake,
My bread from Heaven shall be;
The testamental cup I take,
And thus remember Thee.

Gethsemane can I forget?
Or there Thy conflict see,
Thine agony, and bloody sweat,
And not remember Thee?

When to the cross I turn mine eyes,
And rest on Calvary,
O Lamb of God, my sacrifice,
I must remember Thee.

Remember Thee, and all Thy pains
And all Thy love to me;
Yea, while a breath, a pulse remains,
Will I remember Thee.

And when these failing lips grow dumb
And mind and memory flee,
When Thou shalt in Thy kingdom come,
Jesus, remember me.

Personal Life: Accountability to God

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the
judgment.
--Hebrews 9:27

It was the belief in the accountability of man to his maker that made
America a great nation. Among those earlier leaders was Daniel
Webster whose blazing eyes and fiery oratory often held the Senate
spellbound. In those days the Congress was composed of strong, noble
statesmen who carried the weight of the nation in their hearts and
minds.

Someone asked: "Mr. Webster, what do you consider the most serious
thought that has ever entered your mind?"

"The most solemn thought that has ever entered my mind is my
accountability to my maker," he replied.

Men like that cannot be corrupted and bought. They do not have to
worry if someone listens to their telephone calls. What they were in
character and in deportment resulted from their belief that they
would finally be accountable to God.  Echoes from Eden, 130.

"Lord, help me to live my life today in such a way that, should You
call me tonight to stand before You and give account, I would have
nothing of which I would need to be ashamed. Amen."

Hi everybody:

Nice to finally be able to get the new photo of you, Marilyn.  All I was getting prior - was that dreaded Red X.  Its a very nice photo....then again - you are a very attrative gal!

Oh Karma:., I'll be praying for you....I do hope that nasty flu bug soon leaves.  You sure don't want to be wretching like that, esp with baby just days away from becoming America's newest citizen!.  Hey - I just thought about that!....KARMA"s NEW BABY WILL BE AMERICA'S NEWEST CITIZEN, THE MEMENT SHE IS BORN!...only for a matter of a second, probably - but still........Cool thought huh?

What a beautiful day it has been here today.  Lovely sunny and oh so "spring-like".  You could just "smell the spring in the air".

We fellowshipped with our usual 14 friends after church today.  I always look forward to Sunday!

Love to all., and a special welcome to our "newbies"!!

"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Janet

Hello, dear friends,

We got home about an hour ago, after a grueling and scary trip over terrible roads in blizzard and near blizzard conditions.  I was already so tired, now I am really beat!

Beth is doing remarkably well!  PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD!! Thank you all for your prayers; we KNOW they made all the difference.  Her doctors are astounded at how well she is doing!  They said "She is one tough cookie!"  She actually walked (with a walker) down the hall to the nurses' station and back yesterday, and her doctor said she may be able to walk alone in a month or 6 weeks.

Beth is having terrible headaches, but they said that is normal, and is caused by losing some of her spinal fluid during the surgery.  I know God guided Dr. Cone's hands, and they also said "We will take all the prayers we can get!"  Everyone in the hospital was so kind to us, and we thank God for the good care Beth got.

I need to take her meds over to her (they wound up in my stuff) because she needs to go to bed.  Been a tough day on her.  But can you imagine getting out of the hospital on the third day after such critical surgery!  Wow!  God is so good.

Beth wanted to be in her own place, and since she is only about a hundred yards from me, it is okay, so long as she keeps her phone handy!

I shall return............no sleep last night, long day today, think I will hit the sack early tonight.

Not knowing what the roads were like this morning, I left a little early and didn't have time to post this morning.  The roads were real good though.  Jerry and I were really busy duplicating tapes.  It seems a lot of people are mailing the audio cassette tapes to friends, kids in college and one couple moved to Florida but still want to listen to PCCC preaching and singing.  I think we duplicated around 40 tapes today.

Then we went to Tony's for his 44th birthday dinner.  All his favorites were on the table for all of us to eat.  He got a lot of Harley stuff for birthday.  I know he can't wait for warmer weather so they can ride on the weekends.

Then Jerry and I stopped at a grocery on the way home for kitty supplies....litter, food and treats!  The girls are happy.

Nice devotional, Soni.
I have finally finished reading all the posts.  That flu virus certainly doesn't mind crossing borders....have been sharing in the misery!

Not much to post as life is sort of quiet at the moment.  Did feel better and watched the curling on TV.  Another big match coming up.  This is the serious curling season here in Canada.  There is supposed to be a big match in Victoria coming up...only problem is that the new arena is not ready.  So will probably end up in another place.  Championship games bring big money into the area and that will prove a large financial loss if something doesn't happen to speed up construction.

We are having rain today and that is okay.  Lots of flooding going on in other areas.

So glad that the operations were successful and patients are improving.  Have been praying about the matter...just not posting.  Hope Beth continues to improve and grow strong.

Read this little joke and thought I might post it here for all of us who have been experiencing headaches:

Empty

A little girl went up to her mother one day while holding her stomach saying, "Mommy, my stomach hurts."

Her mother replied, "Betsy, that's because it's empty, you have to put something into it!"

She then prepared a bowl of soup for her little girl to eat.

Later that day when their church pastor and his wife were over for dinner, the pastor began to feel bad.  Holding his head he said, "Gee, I have such a terrible headache!"

The little girl looked up at him, giving him the sweetest smile that any little child could give.  Then she said....

. . .  "That's because it's empty, you have to put something into it!"

;D ;D

Pleasant day and God Bless.
Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  This has been an interesting day in that we continued to have the ice storm through the night and this morning everything was covered with at least a 1/2" of ice.  We still had power and heat this morning but about 10:30 am the power went off.  We brought the kerosine heater in and started it to keep warm.  It warmed up this morning got into the mid-40s the afternoon and most of the ice is gone and the roads are dry now.  About 5:30 we went out to eat as we still had no power.  When we got back a few minutes ago the power was back on and the house was warm.  We had seen a power company truck just up the street from the house so suppose it came back on shortly after we left.

Yesterday afternoon our church (as almost all churches were doing in the area) had cancelled all but the late worship service and the going away reception.  However, about 10:30 last night they made the decision to cancel all of the services today.  We were not going to try to get out as the roads were still very ice covered this morning.  Neither Pat nor I are able to walk very far so didn't want to risk ending up in a ditch.

Janet, how good it was to read your message and to see that you all are home.  It is pretty unbelievable that a person can have such a serious operation and be out of the hospital in three days.  It seems now that people almost go directly from the ICU out the door of the hospital.  Of course, the shorter the hospital stay the less chance of catching something there.  Hospitals are full of sick people and there are a lot of germs there.

Karmat, sorry to see you have the flu as know you sure didn't need that.  Hope you get over it before the baby arrives.

Marilyn, nice to see that you were able to have your day with your grandson.  It sounds like you had a good time.

Liz, glad you are feeling better.

Welcome to Wiredbetter.

Going to say goodnight.

Papa John

Larry, the big ice storm you had was also predicted for us.  This is why we went to Knoxville rather than waiting until Saturday.  But fortunately the storm missed us altogether.  Sorry you got the brunt of it.

We enjoyed the worship this morning at our daughter and son-in-law’s church.  Afterwards there was a delicious fellowship meal.  Then we drove back to Nashville.  I’ll be glad to be in our own bed tonight.

Num 6:24-26  The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:  The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:  The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.  (KJV)

Janet

I am stopping by to say good night.  Beth is feeling better, she had called me earlier to say she is having a terrible headache.  I told her she shouldn't take another pill yet, it is too soon; just to let the head of her bed down a little, turn off the TV and lights and lie still, and if it isn't better in 30 minutes, call me back.  She called back and said she is doing better and thinks she can go to sleep.  She had a rough day today, bless her heart.

The headaches are caused from her losing some spinal fluid during the surgery.  Dr. said the fluid is the cushioning and comforting agent, and until her body regenerates the fluid, the headaches will occur when sitting or standing.  Beth's pain tolerance is very high, so when she says she is in terrible pain, I know she is not exaggerating.

It is still snowing here, and I'm so glad to be home, off the road, and able to sleep in my own bed tonight.  I need a good night's sleep, haven't had one in nearly a week now.  But God is so good, we have felt His nearness, love and protection all through this week in a special way.  How I love Him!

Larry, I'm glad your ice melted off, and hope it is good in Nashville, too, for Papa John and Ruth Ann.

Ruth Ann, you have been in my thoughts and prayers this week, too--along with Pam.

Liz - I can just hear that little girl talking to her "empty-headed" pastor!  That is absolutely great!  I'm going to use that one for sure.

That is good news Janet and Beth.

I think I may have caught a bug of some sort.  I have the stuffy achy sore throat feeling.  I have taken a cold pill and some NeoCitron and am heading to bed!
