Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 2:1

Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them.     Josh.  7:20-21

I saw (the lust of the eye), I coveted (the lust of the mind), I took (an act of the will), I hid (an act of the hand).

Under the Law, Achan died.

Under Grace, the believer is forgiven.

Only He could be both  faithful and just to forgive us our sins!
--Duncan Maxwell

Because the sinless Saviour died,
my sinful soul is counted free
For God, the Just is satisfied
to look on Him and pardon me.

Samantha

Good Morning everyone.

I've got my coffee and I'm ready to start my day, now if my kids would just get up, we could get started on the school day!

I notice that's is been quiet this morning, I hope that everyone is doing ok today.  Still looking to hear something from Karmat about the baby.

Got to run and get started,

Blessings to all,

Samantha

Thanks, Pat for the excellent work that you do here, ( and all the rest of you, too)
Choose you this day who you will serve; As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

Isa 41:10     Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

No baby yet?  I am sure that Daddy is busy with his dear wife, darling son and adoring new daughter.  We will hear soon, I am sure.

Sorry, JudyB, that I forgot to mention you yesterday.  Loved the poem and yes, we need to look farther than the skin to see people....no matter the age.

I read all the posts since I posted yesterday but the mind stopped remembering what I read.  I hate that when it happens.... :o  (I really don't hate anything but that is a saying)

I don't know what happened with the phone lines yesterday.  I could call Ivalou and she called me.  Tony called me last evening and he works on the south side of Indy and said he tried to call his wife and couldn't.  So I think there must have been something wrong with the 765 area code...the area code in central Indiana but surrounding Indy.  And our newspapers will probably never tell us what was wrong....

Well, I woke up this morning when the alarm went off.....trash day.  I got the trash all ready to walk to my brother's house and we have snow!!!!!  Snow of all things.  And it is a very wet snow.  The kind that you had better not be close to the road when a snow plow goes by or you will be bombarded with heavy, wet snow.  The kind that a lot of mailboxes will hit the ground by snowplows today.  But for the kids....great snowman making snow.  You sure wouldn't want to get hit with a snowball today.  It would almost be an ice ball!!  While I was reading my Bible, I could hear sirens and saw an ambulance/EMT on the State highway that I can see from my front window.  Traffic is going a little slower today.

But it is beautiful out there.  All white and pure looking.  God's eye candy.

Good Morning Everyone...

Just came by quickly to see if there was any news of Karma and Nard.  Hope all is well.  I'm sure we'll hear when Nard has a few moments.

I loved reaing your posts Etta Sue and Samantha...  Etta Sue, we're supposed to be getting that snow later today and tonight is when we put our garbage out!  It's collected very early in the morning on my side of the street every Thursday.  HAHAHA!! Etta Sue, is that Ali?

Thanks Samantha for your lovely comments.  Yes, we have a great team on CP that keeps things humming along.

Good Morning to all  who  will enter in to CP today. I hope that covers everyone I don't mention.
Thanks Pat for the deovtional today.

I am taking Fay to the doctor today to have her wound Cauterized with silver Nitrate as there is Proud Flesh growing inside the wound and that is keeping th wound from closing, It has now been 4 months since her surgery.

I went to visit Gloria yesterday, she is now in the Nursing home/Rehab center. That place is huge, a lot of people in there. I hove to go to the post office later and get stamps for her so I can mail her bills. Then meet her cousin at he apt to get Gloria little tV for her to take to Gloria.

Then there is Bible study tonight.  Wednesday is a busy day for me I also have tai Chi this morning. I haven't been able to get tot he gym for the last 1 1/2 weeks, just to many things to do.

I just don't understand.  Here I am living in the same town with Marilyn, and she hasn't even shown me the new car yet!  It's terrible indeed.

Sonifo

Rats, no news yet on the new baby.

I need to go grocery shopping, my least most favorite thing to do.  Why are grocery stores always so cold? brrrss!!

Have a good day, I'll be back later to check up on new news.

Pat

It's snowing here quite heavily so I'm staying indoors.

I've been sticking close to the computer to see if there's news of dear Karma and Nard.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Like everyone else I thought sure we would hear from Nards by this time.  I will check back later to see if there is an update.

It is raining here this morning and is very gloomy, but it isn't cold.  In a little bit I have to leave to go to the Senior Center to teach the Windows Essential Class.  This is week 3 of 8.  Then this evening we have Ash Wednesday services at 7 pm and then a late choir practice so will be gone all evening.

Marilyn, I used to have a Chevy but can't remember how the hood latches.  I know that on some of them  you have to reach under the front edge of the hood and there is a level that you pull up on.  However, I would think if you have the oil changed they will be able to show you.  Hope the leak isn't serious.    It sounds like you have a busy day planned.

Etta Sue, hope the snow plows don't get the mailboxes.

Janet, the nice thing about cyber cake is that it is inexhaustable so there is plenty for everyone and I am happy to share it with all of my CP friends.  My son called last night and asked if I had any plans on Saturday and I told him I didn't.  He said his gift to me was that he was coming over to spend the day with me.  He will be here to go to coffe with me, then we are going to the computer store, Fry's, where he hasn't been before.  Then in the afternoon we are going to see the movie "Phantom of the Opera".  As we both love music I know we will enjoy it.  So it will be a special day for me as I don't get to spend much time with him.  Much better than a present in a box, in my view.

Jane, you would like one letter would be sufficient from the IRS.  It sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Pat, I am sure my Pat would be glad to do some reflexiology on your feet if you were closer.  She still works on my feet from time to time and it seems to help.  Hope you are feeling better today and that you all don't get too much snow up your way.

Samantha, nice to see you posting today.

Al, maybe Marilyn will give you a ride in her new car.

Sonja, I certainly agree with you on grocery stores being too cold.  Our neighbhood Kroger store is always freezing and I can hardly stand to go in it during the summer when I am not wearing a heavy coat and hat.  Don't know how the employees stand it.  I know they have a lot of freezers but don't think the canned and packaged items need refrigeration also.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Beth, do hope this is day two without a headache.

WinterRose

The Holy Spirit: Some Other Time

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I
do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because
I go to My Father.
--John 14:12

"You will receive power" (Acts 1:8a). "Eagerly desire the greater
gifts" (1 Corinthians 12:31a). Anything that God has ever done for a
soul He will do for anyone else, if the conditions are met. The Lord
who blessed these men that I spoke about, and the thousands who
followed them but whose names are not known, is willing to do the
same for us as He did for them.

Unbelief says: Some other time, but not now; some other place, but
not here; some other people, but not us. Faith says: Anything He did
anywhere else He will do here; anything He did any other time He is
willing to do now; anything He ever did for other people He is
willing to do for us! With our feet on the ground, and our head cool,
but with our heart ablaze with the love of God, we walk out in this
fullness of the Spirit, if we will yield and obey. God wants to work
through you!

The Counselor has come, and He doesn't care about the limits of
locality, geography, time or nationality. The Body of Christ is
bigger than all of these. The question is: Will you open your heart?
The Counselor, 121.

"This thought is very convicting, Lord. I know I've been guilty of
praising You for Your power and goodness, while secretly doubting
that You were really going to work in my present situation. Forgive
me that duplicity, Lord, and give me faith to believe You for Now,
for Here, for Me. Amen."

Nice looking car Marilyn.

Tbear, I did see the lovely birthday cake and ice cream and left a comment and a thank you for it in Msg #19 on February 8th.  Sorry you didn't see my reply as certainly appreciated your special effort.  That photo looked good enough to eat and today I answered Janet's inquiry about sharing it and said I was sure that since it was cyber cake that there is plenty to go around and I was happy to share it with all of my friends here on CP.  Thanks again.

Chris I know where everything goes. The Hood latch is just super hard to pull. I am no dummy when it come to cars,  have worked on a few but I am not into doing any mechanics work anymore. Let someone else do it for me. I have also helped to rebuild a couple of GM engines before.

Nice looking car, Marilyn.  What year is it?  Is that your house I see behind the car?

Pat - all I see are red X's in Chris' post too.

any "baby" news yet?  I thought the baby was to have come Tuesday.
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Janet

Hi, friends!  I am spending the night with Mark and Abby, so am using my son in law's computer.  He has a different keyboard from mine, so I have to keep making corrections.

I also felt sure we would have a "baby bulletin" this evening!  Sure hope all is well with the Shufords.  Nards is probably super busy, and for sure, Karma is!  ;)

I have to go pick up Abby from Awanas soon.  Then I'm sure she will have plans to keep both of us busy until bedtime!

I had a good day painting today.  Only two more days and the class will be over for another year.  :'(  I wish we could find more instructors who are willing to come.  For the prices they charge, I don't know why any of them would refuse!  Oh, well, I still have one more week of class to look forward to, the first week of June.  That one will be in Fowler, Kansas.

Mark and two of his friends are going to wear kimonos for their Senior Prom.  These boys march to the beat of a different drummer, for sure.  He is ordering those special socks that you can wear with thong sandals, too.  We are getting a big kick out of it.  Diane is a little embarrassed, but is going along with it.  They had a hard time finding kimonos they could afford!  The first one Mark chose was over $10,000!!!  So he had to change course very abruptly!  I can hardly wait to come down and take pictures of them.  They will also wear them to church on Sunday morning.  The kids around here always wear their Prom clothes to church.  Anyway, they found some kimonos (used, I think) on ebay for about what renting a tux would cost.  Boy, things have changed so much since our high school days!!

I want to go see if there are new photos today.  Catch you all later.

Sure hope you get the oil leak fixed, Marilyn.  Looks like a nice car otherwise.

Pat

Lovely car, Marilyn.  If it was up here, it would be a rust bucket with all the salt that they use on our roads.  Sounds like you got a good deal.

well I got the hood open I just wasn't pulling hard enough. It was about a qt. low on oil. I have an appointment at 10 am on Saturday for the mechanic to check it out. He is a very reasonable person, works for a local dealership but has his own shop ont he side. A friend from church is his boss at the dealership.

Pat with all the fog and salt air here things get pretty rusty quickly.

Judy it is a 1988 and yes that is where I live, in that trailer. at least until I move in about 3-4 weeks or as soon as I find a place.

Off to Bible Study soon.

Guess we are all waiting for news about the new baby.
To bad that some of you are not able to view Chris's cute little green car......!  Neat post.
I like your car Marilyn and hope it has many miles to go...

Went to town for a prescription today and it is really chilly here on the island.  Spring seems to have taken another holiday.

Amanda has been doing some great portraits of people lately.  Hope she shows them in the Art section.  Janet..there is some of her newer work posted.  Saw her graduation pictures today and they turned out nice.  My, how time does fly.

Not much to talk about today, so will post this silly joke.  I got some books from the library about Low Carb Foods and have been reading them, mostly for the recipes.  I am not on the high side of scales....Mark Twain said something amusing about the subject:

"Be careful about reading health books.
You may die of a misprint."
           :-\

Fat Theology

In the beginning, God populated the earth with broccoli and cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow vegetable of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

And Satan created McDonald's. And McDonald's brought forth the 99-cent double-cheeseburger. And Satan said to Man, "You want fries with that?"

And Man said, "Super size them." And Man gained pounds.

And God created the healthful yogurt, that woman might keep her figure that man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth chocolate. And woman gained pounds.

And God said, "Try my crispy fresh salad."

And Satan brought forth ice cream. And woman gained pounds.

And God said, "I have sent your heart healthy vegetables and olive oil with which to cook them."

And Satan brought forth chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter.

And Man gained pounds and his bad cholesterol went through the roof.

And God brought forth running shoes and Man resolved to lose those extra pounds.

And Satan brought forth cable TV with remote control so Man would not have to toil to change channels between ESPN and ESPN2.

And Man gained pounds.

And God said, "You're running up the score, Devil."

And God brought forth the potato, a vegetable naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition.

And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fat fried them. And he created sour cream dip also.

And Man clutched his remote control and ate the potato chips swaddled in cholesterol.

And Satan saw and said, "It is good."

And Man went into cardiac arrest.

And God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.

And Satan created HMOs.

Pleasant evening all and God Bless.

karmat

We're home!!!

Tyra Kristiana is absolutely beautiful.  She weighed 8 lbs 13 oz (beat big brother by 4 ounces), was 19.75 inches long (I think), and is a very good baby. :)

Big brother Travis is very proud, and as soon as she wimpers, he's there.

Daddy is proud.

Mom is tired, and sore, but happy.

The delivery was "easy" (relatively speaking), and now, I'm going to get some rest.

Pictures tomorrow, hopefully.

Thanks for wondering, sorry for keeping it so long!

love ya

Sarah

Janice

Congratulations, Karmat and Nards!  Wonderful news that baby Tyra is here and so beautiful too!!  Looking forward to seeing her picture.  You get all the rest you can, and take care of yourself.  I guess Travis seemed to have grown a lot when you brought Tyra home from hospital!

Today was my husband's birthday, he is 82 now.  Oh my, where has the time gone?  He has not been very well lately, just seems to have one problem after another.  But God is good and does not allow all of them to happen at once!

I had my MRI done yesterday at Lubbock.  Have no idea when I will hear anything from it.

Hi Sarah, hope you have a good season in district play.  I have a granddaughter named Sara.

Marilyn, your new car is pretty.  I had a 1988 Bonneville that I loved, still miss it too.  We sold it when we got a new car last year.  '88, that was a good year I think.  Hubby has an '88 Olds 98 that is still a very good car.

Pat, I hope you are feeling better.  Take care.

And Janet, I am thankful that Beth has had her surgery and sure hope the headaches go away for good.  I pray for her for a good recuperation and good checkups afterwards.

Etta Sue, Jane, Nita, Judy, Al, Larry, Ruth Ann,  oh just everyone, my mind goes blank and I miss some names, have a good day manana and the rest of the week.  Ruth Ann, I hope your DIL is improving daily and soon back on her feet again.  Jane, I am sorry that IRS is giving you such a hard time.  It just seems so ridiculous for them to treat you this way.  Good night everybody!   Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Time to put the cat out and call it a day.
