Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

REJECTION
Exodus 6:1-13 NIV

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh:  Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."

God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.  I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them.  I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they lived as aliens.  Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

"Therefore, say to the Israelites:  'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.  I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.  Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.  I will give it to you as a possession.  I am the LORD.' "

Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country."

But Moses said to the LORD, "If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips?"

Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron about the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.

What would it cost you to do what God wants?

Small problems need only small answers.

But when we face great problems, God has an opportunity to exercise his great power.  As the Hebrews' troubles grew steadily worse, God planned to intervene with his mighty power and perform great miracles to deliver them.

How big are your problems?  Big problems put you in a perfect position to watch God give big answers.

I haven't shown this one lately.  An optical illusion.  Look at the image below and eventually you will see something remarkable.

Whew!  I am so glad to hear that Tyra Kristiana and Travis are fine.  Glad that Mom and Dad are super also!  Can't wait to see some pictures.  Congratulations, Shufords!

Good to see some people posting that we don't see often.  Come back more frequently.  We love hearing from all of you.

Marilyn ~ Neat looking car, girl friend!

Okay....it is bedtime so I am calling it a night.  Night!

Congratulations on the safe new arrival.  I'm glad that everyone is happy and healthy, and I can't wait to see pictures.

I have an early day tomorrow, so must get some rest.

Night everyone.

There it is ... the announcement of Tyra's safe and happy arrival!  Congratulations to the happy family ... and a special welcome to Tyra Kristiana

I wanted to mention to PAT, LARRY, and JANICE that I'm weathering the storm rather well.  It always gives me momentary panic attacks, but then I remember that it's not my problem and I can calm down fairly quickly.  My Father is in total control of my life and all that effects it ... I trust Him in all things and that means the threatening roars coming from the IRS den!    :D  In other words: don't sing any sad songs for me ... I've just put my boots on for another trip around the mountain!   ::)

Marilyn I love your car!  Enjoy it in good health.

Thanks, ETTA SUE, for the devotional for today ... Good thoughts.  Also, I love your optical illusion.  I needed that about now.  The timing's perfect.

I also enjoy your changing graphics each day at the end of your posts ... I know that takes a lot of time and effort to come up with something different each day ... Sorry I don't comment often enough.   :-\

Good morning!  I am literally running by to greet you, time to take Abby and Abel (across the street) to school and then on to Ulysses to class.  Hello, Tyra Christiana!

Jane, I know God is in control of your finances, and like Darrel always says "They can't eat you!"  Keep on trusting!

Great devotional and graphics, Etta Sue, and they are animated on Jeff's computer!

Gotta run!

Welcome Beautiful Tyra

What a joy to have a new and healthy baby!

Marilyn:  I hope the car is fixed & oil stops leaking - great that you have it!  I am slowly slowly doing some initial work on Novice PSP - not enough time until we return home but I sure hope to keep on with this session.

Larry:  I did not realize that Pat was having so much in hip pain - sorry about the long wait for doctor & treatment.  You take it easy as well.

Pat Scott:

How true - but when a massive problem occurs, it takes more than a moment for me to trust that everything will be alright in the end.  And, it is alright as time goes by -

Hi everyone.  We have a sunshiny day but the wind is blowing and it was 40 degrees when I went to coffee this morning so it was a bit chilly.

When my friend and I came out of the Cafe I must have accidently depressed the accelerator and it activated the security system in the car that prevents it from starting.  This had happend once before and after I had called Pat to come and get us I tried it once more and it started.  So this time we just went back into the cafe (a real hardship :) for another 20 minutes and when we got in the car the security system had reset and it started right up.  Fortunately I knew what to do this time and didn't have to bother Pat to get the other car out and come and get us.

Congratulations to Karmat and Nards.  Like the others here I am looking forward to seeing some photos of that new addition to your family.  Know it was a special moment when Travis saw his little sister for the first time.

This afternoon is Calvin Cove again but won't be going until 2 pm.  I did attend the Ash Wednesday service at the church last night.  I went early and ate the Wednesday evening meal so Pat wouldn't need to prepare supper.  She seems to be feeling better today from her cold and plans to attend an outing this afternoon with her quilting group.  Of course, they don't quilt anymore--just talk and occasionally go out to eat lunch, which they are doing today.

Etta Sue, how did you get my picture in your optical illusion?  :)  Thanks for the devotional today.

Good to see everyone posting today.  I have several projects I need to get busy on so better be brief this morning.

Etta Sue

Busy day already.  Laundry day and bill paying day.  It was snow flurrying when I walked to the mail box and then I had to shovel the deck.  It is snow cleared now....at least, where I have to walk.  But if the weather predictions are right, it is to get warmer each day and be in the 40°'s by Sunday.  Woo Hee!!!

Thanks, Jane, for the lovely comments.  I love your Baby Congratulations for Tyra Kristiana.

Janet ~ Happy that you can see the animations on Jeff's pc.  I don't have a clue as to why you can't see them on yours.  Does Jeff?

Tee Hee, Larry!  I heard you had little horns....but of a different kind!   ;)

Let's see....13 days and I leave for Florida where it HAS to be warmer!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, KARMA & BERNARD!!!!!

How did Jane get the picture of Tyra Krisiana in her post?

Jane - it's time for the American public to rise against the IRS!  If I were younger, I would lead the revolution!  They are disregarding our constitution sompletely.

Good Morning / Afternoon Ladies & Gentleman !!

Great postings on problems --received this in my email and I thought I would
share with others who are having a trying time.....

This week's promise:
God has mercy on those who suffer

How do I stay close to God in times of suffering?

"Those who plant in tears will harvest in shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest."

Psalm 126:5-6 NLT

Recognize that suffering is not forever. In the dark hours of the night of suffering it is hard to think of a morning of joy and gladness. But the tears of suffering are like seeds of joy.

All scripture is from the New Living Translation (Tyndale House Publishers, 1996).

KARMA, NARDS, and TRAVIS ... How exciting for the Shuford household to welcome such a precious little girl as TYRA KRISTIANA.  Thanks for the photos ... I agree: Trav looks like a very happy and proud Big Brother!

JANET, I know what Darrel says is so true .. they can't eat me!  They can huff and puff and, if they blow my house down, I know there will be another one provided.  My Father keeps me Safe Til The Storm Passes By... <that should be a song, dontcha think?>

AL, I'd love for you to be the leader of the revolution but ... guess maybe we better just resist the temptation this time, y'think?

The Holy Spirit: The Text Plus the Holy Spirit

So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people,
and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their
mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.
--Ezekiel 33:31

When you are trying to find out the condition of a church, do not
just inquire whether it is evangelical. Ask whether it is an
evangelical rationalistic church that says, "The text is enough,"
or whether it is a church that believes that the text plus the
Holy Spirit is enough....

I would rather be part of a small group with inner knowledge than
part of a vast group with only intellectual knowledge. In that
great day of Christ's coming, all that will matter is whether or
not I have been inwardly illuminated, inwardly regenerated,
inwardly purified.  Faith Beyond Reason, 30,32.

"I too, Lord, 'would rather be part of a small group with inner
knowledge than part of a vast group with only intellectual
knowledge.' Fill us with Your Spirit and Your presence today.
Amen."

CONGRATULATIONS SHUFORDS, GOD'S BLESSING IS BEAUTIFUL, MARGIT AND I ARE BOTH GOING " AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH"  :)

Jane Walker, greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world,  don't worry, praise God for all He is doing and will do in your life.

What a precious little girl!  Congratulations again to you Karmat and Nards on Kristi's safe arrival, and it is so nice to see the happy expression on Travis's face.

Now, I must go and get some housework done.

I took this yesterday, always a lovely sign of the end of winter I think, and God's encouragement to us to learn from the past, enjoy today and look forward in faith to tomorrow.

Nice devotional, Etta Sue.

Congratulations to Karma, Nards & Travis.  Little Tyra is beautiful!  I was curious about the name, Tyra, so looked it up and found that it has different meanings and different origins.
Greek = Meaning:  Untamed
Scandinavian= Meaning:  God of Battle
Scottish= Meaning:  Land

Hmm.  Sounds like a very strong name ;)

We are having cold weather here and it was below freezing again this morning.  All this change does unpleasant things to my arthritis and I will certainly welcome warm weather in the near future.  Appreciate your hip problem Pat.  Have one too!!  Still, I am going to try carpet bowling today.  They can't get us if we keep moving.......

Read something kind of nice this morning:

God has a wonderful plan for each of us. His plan will conform to your heritage, your experience, your talents, education and season of life. No one else can fill your role.

Dr. Bill Bright, the founder and president of Campus Crusade for Christ, International, stated, "Whatever we vividly envision, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass, provided there is scriptural authority for it."

I like the part about 'season of life'.  Means we are still of value!!

Must go now.  Pleasant day all and God Bless.

Liz

I stopped by early this morning, now it is time for a shower and a little bit of downtime.  Busy, busy week for me.  I have a second painting almost finished now, may start another tomorrow.

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD, TYRA CHRISTIANA!!!  You are so beautiful, and we already love that happy big brother of yours, too!

I went over to wash Beth's hair tonight.  (She isn't supposed to get the wound wet.)  She called me last night while I was in Hugoton,  I had already gone to bed; saying her head was hurting so bad she couldn't bear it.  I told her to call her sister Denise, who works for Beth's doctor, and ask about putting ice on it.  She put heat on it instead, and made it worse. :-\ :'(  She still has a headache today, but not as severe.  The kids are planning to go to their Dad's house again this weekend to try to get more done toward cleaning out the house and deciding what to do with the business.  I think Beth wants to go.  She cannot carry and lift, but can sort papers, make lists, and have her voice heard.

I am really tired, so it will be an early bedtime for me tonight.  See you all later, and I apologize for not greeting each of you personally; but I do love you all!
