Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great.
1 Chronicles 29:1

Solomon apparently realized his inadequacy for he said, "I am but a little child; I know not how to go out or come in" (1 Ki. 3:7).

In our service, we should be reminded that "Without Me ye can do nothing" (Jn. 15:5) and that "My strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Cor. 12:9). Just as in Solomon's day, God-dependent leadership is still crucial. "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God" (2 Cor. 3:5).

Pray for the leadership in your local gathering and pray for the younger ones that, if the Lord tarries, will one day lead the next generation.
—Wm. Gustafson

I can do nothing without Thee;
my strength is wholly Thine;
Wither'd and barren should I be
if severed from the Vine.

If you have not seen the movie "the passion of the Christ"  I recomend it..
It puts into perspective, how a man who has been blameless before God,  took up a horrible death.  In the Book of Isiah it sais that He was beaten beyond recognition.  In that movie  the man who played teh role of Jesus was still reciglisable.  Even though the movie puts into perspective of what he went through it was still short of what really happened.   I think that the Love of God is so big and the ugliness of sin is so horrid that He would of done it all over again just for one sin.
I do not want to be misunderstood.  Just as God is Holy to the fullness.  Sin is ugly to the fullness.
Amen
I think we can all agree on that and that it is easy to misunderstand that it sounds like a justification of a multitude of sins.

Its funny how all I wanted to say is that in the eyes of God he loves us all as His own and that is the way we should see it.

Then the discussion turned into sin.

Oh well it made for real good conversation.
I love you all

and go vote  (kidding thereis not even a poll up yet)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just back from our Friday morning men's coffee at the local senior center.  We had about 15 or 16 men there this morning and as always enjoyed a time of visiting.  I was so tired last evening that I went to bed at 9 pm.  I wanted to watch a program that come on TV at 10 pm and saw the first part of it but fell asleep and woke up to find the news on.  I plan to take things easy today and try not to do any errands as I about overdid yesterday and am feeling it today.  My heart just won't tolerate much physical stress without letting me know it doesn't like it.  Feel ok this morning, other than still being tired, and I think maybe my cough and sniffles of yesterday morning are not going to manifest into a full-blown cold.

Liz, good to see you posting again and to read that you are feeling better.  I hadn't heard about the killing of the Mounties and that is certainly sad.  Illegal drugs do such terrible things to our society.

Marilyn, hope you get all your paperwork finished on your car today.  It is always a relief to get the tags and have it all done.

Matt, you started a good discussion area here yesterday.

Good devotional Pat.  Hope you are feeling better today and had another good night's sleep last night.

Have plenty of projects on my computer to keep me as busy as I want to be today.  Hope a lot of folks visit with us here today.

Janet

Larry, I want to thank you for the article you shared yesterday.  It was right on target and very thought-provoking.  Do take it easy today and get back to normal.  We appreciate you so much.

Good devotional, Pat.  Hope you are feeling better and better now.  No, my frames didn't come yesterday, so surely they will come today.  At least the ones from Denver.  I had to order from both Denver and Dallas to get what I need.

Marilyn, hope you get all your paperwork done for your car and get your tags.  Darrel always asks me to do that stuff, because he runs out of patience with the people in the tax/tag office very quickly.  So I do it, and really don't mind.  I have more patience than he does, I guess.

I finished up my large painting yesterday, so I need to take pictures to share in here.  I am pretty pleased with it.

Abby wanted me to come to school today, but I need to get some things done here at home.  I told her I will try to come again next week.  :)

I wish you all a pleasant and God controlled day.  Blessings to all of you!

HOPEFUL NEWS FROM THE U.S. SUPREME COURT!!

3/4/2005
Darrel and Janet,

I'm exhausted after a very intense week here in our nation's capital, but I have to give you the good news.

This week's arguments in the Supreme Court over the public display of the Ten Commandments were very encouraging! I'm not a pie-in-the-sky optimist--I know how serious this battle for America's soul is--but I am hopeful after what I saw and heard in the High Court on Wednesday.

+ + Justices show support for Ten Commandments!

First, the Justices shocked me with how they wanted to handle these cases. Until now, we have heard over and over again how that the only way the Ten Commandments can be "legally" displayed is if they are "drowned out" by other "historical documents" and have "no religious intent."

Well, Justice Scalia severely challenged that by saying plainly, "Government derives its authority from God. What's wrong with that?" A number of the other justices, most notably Anthony Kennedy, then expressed deep concern over the growing "hostility" to religion.

This is a huge change!

As I saw it (and I'm not a prophet!), as many as six of the Justices saw no problem with government "acknowledging" and "accommodating" religious speech and symbols.

After coming out of the courtroom, I told the crowd outside that what I saw in the, at times, dramatic change in some of the Justices' questioning from pervious cases like this, was nothing short of a miracle. I'm convinced that God is hearing and answering prayer!

Given what I heard, I believe that we stand the possibility for a 6-3 decision in our favor in at least one of the cases. Hallelujah!

+ + Your Voice Was Heard!

I also want you to know that I was thrilled to represent your petitions during our rally on the steps of the Supreme Court. We had over 25,000 people co-sign our Amicus Brief and another 25,000 sign our petition to the Court! And your petitions were delivered to the Court on Wednesday!

Plus, your support made it possible for Faith And Action to hold an important media event at the National Press Club on the eve of the Court's hearings. Thanks to you, we were able to strongly represent our cherished values during this debate.

+ + Time for Vigilance and Prayer

We are likely to not have a decision from the Court until this summer, but we will remain vigilant. As the Justices consider their decisions over the next few months, we must all continue to pray and allow our voices to be heard and our faces to be seen. THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR SILENCE AND INVISIBILITY!

I've one WILD ROLLER COASTER RIDE today and, so have a seat & take a look ..

01. I got up this morning only to have my fever back up again & I also felt really sick to my stomach this morning too.

02. Took myself 2 the DR only 2 find out that I've a VERY BAD CASE of BRONCHITIS. While there I told her about what was going on with my husband & so she gave us both medicine !!

03. So, I called my husband to tell him about what I found out & he tells me that he is getting off early to get into bed as he is not feeling good & also that his FEVER is up too. So, with hearing that he told me 2 call the school & tell them he would be there to pick up KALYN.

04. So I called the school & told them what was happening & they said they would pass on the messages to KALYN !!

05. I was running late so I called my son 2 tell him 2 call boss & tell him he would be late.

06. Get to the PHARMACY & PARK the VAN only to leave the KEYS on the dashboard & then LOCK the VAN UP & so I then called up my son again & told him that the POLICE were coming to UNLOCK IT.

07. Then ... I get outside the POLICE were there ready to open thee door & he said that I could break thee door are U sure that you want me to do this I right away called my husband & he told the OFFICER where the spare KEY was & he reached under there & YEAH ... there was the KEY so we opened it up

08. I then went into the PHARMACY only to have our name not in the system so they had to get copy of our cards. And, then they ran out of the medicine & U guessed I come back on Monday to get the rest !!

09. Only 2 get home home & my son told me that the DR. office called & to say that they needed me to call them back with our insurance number because they could not read the copy that they made.

10. So, I take my son to work 15 minutes late but he still got there. I get home & look at the medicine only to find out that it's not what DOC. told it was ... so after I finish this post up I will eat some lunch & then call the DOCTOR OFFICE & find out what is happening.

So, ladies check your calendar & make sure that it say ... FRIDAY - MARCH 4th & not FRIDAY THE 13th or GROUND HOG DAY all over again ... as this is one bear that is wanting to see SPRING & WARMER WEATHER MOVE in so that I can get this HOUSE AIRED OUT of all the GERMS & BUGS !!

So, take care & thanks for taking the time to read about my KRAZY DAY that I had !!

Al Moak

Well Tbear, if you have the Lord still with you, then it's an ok day!
01. Thank Him
02. Praise Him.
03. Take two and call us in the morning!

Pastoral Ministry: Worthy to Lead

Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus
Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead)....
--Galatians 1:1

Conformity to the Word of God is always right, but obedience to
religious leaders is good only if those leaders prove themselves
worthy to lead. Leadership in the church of Christ is a spiritual
thing and should be so understood by everyone. It takes more than
a ballot to make a leader....

If the church is to prosper spiritually she must have spiritual
leadership, not leadership by majority vote. It is highly
significant that when the apostle Paul found it necessary to ask
for obedience among the young churches he never appealed to them
on the grounds that he had been duly elected to office. He
asserted his authority as an apostle appointed by the Head of
the church. He held his position by right of sheer spiritual
ascendancy, the only earthly right that should be honored among
the children of the new creation.  The Warfare of the Spirit,
162-164.

"Renew within me, even today, a sense of my divine call. Then
help me to live a holy life, exemplary in faithfulness, so that
I might indeed be a leader worthy to lead. Amen."

Al Moak, thank you for yesterday, a good clear word as expected.
Matt, you are correct, we have no righteousness of our own, confer- Zechariah ch 3 v 3-5.
"clothed with filthy garments"="take away the fithy garments from him"=" see I have removed your iniquity from you and I will clothe you with rich robes."
We have no righteousness of our own BUT we have righteousness IMPUTED to us by our Lord Jesus Christ" Halleluja!
He is our righteousness, for He was pure, holy and sinless and we are in Him, He paid the price that our  Father God demanded of sinful mankind for rebelling against His commandments and breaking all of them time and again.
Romans ch 4 explains all, Glory be to God!
Romans ch 5 v 18 =the free gift to all, resulting in justification for life!
We are justified = meaning =  just if I'd never sinned.
Lord Jesus we love you. :)

Hello everyone!  I am glad I came by to read the message today, God or his angels new I must of need to be reminded... I have so many projects going, the kids and family, I hope God knows that I am trying to do right and walking a path with positive influences and positive people .. I hope to give back to my community something that will carry on in my kids and the future.
Its something I am passionate about and I know it will work...
I have been working on some lyrics conciously I know somewhere I might have heard a line or so and I am trying to come up with a new line to replace it .. I guess I felt as though I could come here and trust that maybe with some more positive creative invisions I could get a little feedback. I have wrote to Drew Rossman about a project idea of getting together with photographers, writing a song, recording it, to go with world photo day or stand alone as a project itself for th eyear 2005. If there are any CD's produced then proceeds can cover expenses as well as be used for a photographer scholarship or go to education (music and art) .... Its just a little idea, I thought that maybe surely I could come close to making something happen even in just my state. Edwin McCain has a studio opening this year and there are a couple of home studios I know of ... Here I am rambling this on in hopes to get others interested and maybe some more ideas to make it work.
One idea we had in our local photographers group was to do something like Newyork has  and give kids cameras to replace or be therapy ...(an idea to persuade them from guns.)

Hold my hand and remember how to feel the beat of love.
Put a song and picture next to your heart, close your eyes, step
closer to me and
remember how to feel the beat of love.
Dance with me and feel my arms around you its a picture with a melody
in time
of four.
We will feel the beat to a song that carrys on you see this picture
will help to remember how it
feels when all is gone.
Its a picture to hope for when your lonely and scared.
I will be here waiting for you and no one can stop the love we share.
Remember the love it comes with a beat to a harmony and you can carry
on in step to a melody from this picture .
Its a long time before that we shared this same dream when we felt
this beat as one in a picture.
Sing with promise of feeling the beat that a picture can hold memories
for eternity.
Its OK to cry the tears will tap the beat and you will remember the
love is all you need to feel with this picture.
Live your life with a song and picture close to your heart. Together
they will keep you safe when
your weak from missing me.
You will dance to another song over again and share this beat its a
picture of love we share in a world with peace and harmony.

One of my photos from photo a day

Hey Pat Scott, I like that music in the medley you shared. Is there any piano music to that. I was thinking it sounded like a song I have played once a time a go. Going Home, or On a Windy Hill, part of though as it slowed down and possibly changed music.
