Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

MOSES APPOINTS NEW LEADERS
Deuteronomy 31:1-8 NIV

Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel: "I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not cross the Jordan.' The LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the LORD said. And the LORD will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. The LORD will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you.  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

If you were Joshua, who would be "Moses" in your life?

Joshua had been Moses' assistant for many years and had learned much from him (Josh. 1:1).

One of his key qualifications was his faith.  Joshua had been appointed to take over the leadership of Israel and guide the people into the Promised Land (Moses could not enter the land due to his disobedience--Numbers 20:12).

Indeed, this was a frightening task with 3 million people to care for, settle disputes for, and lead into battle.

Finding courage would be Joshua's greatest test.  He was strong and courageous because he knew God was with him and because he had faith that God would do all he had promised.

Bible Study was really awesome tonight.  There were only 6 of us and we really got a lot from our lesson.  Thank you, God.

It is late and I had an early morning.  I will go to sleep praying that all my cyber friends wake up tomorrow refreshed, free of any illness and raring to meet the new day God provides for us to enjoy.

Thank you Etta Sue for your work on the devotional for today.

Janet God Bless you Sister you said it better than I could. Some of us got our toes stepped on pretty hard by that article. I have found in  looking up different things on the internet  that I could find  any answer I wanted and that there is always some that will agree with our own thinking no matter which side we are on in any subject. I discovered that when reading the posts on Religious issues on SN. The atheists always found an article to rebutt the article I had posted.

About praying within the will of God, His will for us is in his Word. Jeremiah 29:11 and Jeremiah 33:3 Praying within God's will is not praying for those materialistic things or trying to have God  give you everything you ask for . Never ask amiss.

All that said I will say good night.

Thanks Etta Sue.  Wow!  I'm going to go to bed and I'm going to think about your question, "Who's the Moses in my life?"

Thanks again.

I was just on my way to bed and I had this quote sent to me.  I thought it was good...

I have Him, not only what I have room for, but that which I have not room for, but for which I shall have room, moment by moment, as I go on into the eternity before me. I am like the little bottle in the sea, as full as it will hold. The bottle is in the sea, and the sea is in the bottle; so I am in Christ, and Christ is in me. But, besides that bottleful in the sea, there is a whole ocean beyond; the difference is, that the bottle has to be filled over again, every day, evermore.

Etta Sue, I hope you don't mind that I stickied this page for you.  Great devotional!  Some of my favorite verses are those admonishing Joshua to be strong and of good courage, that the Lord your God is with you.

We have a busy day ahead, and I didn't sleep well at all.  I shouldn't let things bother me so much, and I keep trying not to, but............    Anyway, if I hurt anyone's feelings I apologize.  It is hard for me to refrain from defending people I love and admire.  One thing for sure, God doesn't need my pitiful defense, and I suppose neither do those heros of the faith.  So I am  :-X now.

Today we get to go to Abby's program, so of course the camera is going along with me!   ;D

Stories like this sort of put things back into perspective.

A Pakistani Teenage Christian Barely Escapes Death at the Hands of Her Own Family!

Diana's face must remain hidden for her own protection

Diana grew up in a strict Islamic family in Pakistan. Her life was pretty typical until she met a girl named Mary who was a Christian. Now Diana is also a Christian and on the run.

When Diana's family learned that she had become a Christian, they repeatedly beat her and insisted she return to Islam. But Diana refused. She was then forced to a local canal where her uncle put a pistol to her head and gave her one last chance to return to Islam. Diana replied, "You can kill me if you want. I will not leave Christ."

It was then that Diana's uncle noticed an extremely poisonous black cobra swimming in the canal. Believing he could escape any prosecution for his niece's death, he threw her into the path of the cobra. He also knew she could not swim.

Diana miraculously escaped from the canal and is in hiding today. She is a new Christian but has already learned what it means to suffer for Christ. She recently told The Voice of the Martyrs, "Jesus was crucified for us. Can we not endure some of the same for Him?"

Good Morning. Yesterday I had a wonderful Deep Tissue massage from a different therapist in my chiropractor's office. I am changing to her. It may hurt but it is a good hurt. It really gets the knots out. It feels so good to wake up in the morning with less pain than I have been having. Some mornings the pain has been so severe in my neck and shoulder that I thought it would never go away. At times like the last two  mornings (not today) I had severe pain in both hips that would only go away by walking it out.

On the days I wake up pain free I thank God that He has given  me a pain free night of sleep and that the pain didn't wake me up and get me out of bed to walk. Thank you Jesus for another day here on earth to serve you and to be a blessing to someone else.

Today I am going to sign up for commodities at 10 AM and share them with Fay. I will be baking her some  Peanut Butter cookies too. I don't have to go to Jan's this week or next as she is in Anza Borrego visiting her son.

I carrry this clipped message in a little wallet.

Also, I watched an investigative program on t.v.  about the spending habits of Benny H.  which showed outrageous hotel bills and some high-living expenses for him.  This behavior always hurts those who are living the life of goodness.  I only mentioned this after looking at yesterday's link.

Just dropped in

Fighting exhaustion and a slight cold.

Did not look at link and probably wont because I see "conflict"

You must remember to always be aware of the Prince of this
world, the evil one.

That is why I never venture on SN religious issues--please be
careful there, Marilyn,  for their eyes are shut to the truth
of the bible and their hearts hardened to HIS word.

When we stray from believing in GOD and only condemn them
as they do, they will never hear HIS words as we do.. Only when
they come to believe in Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour
will their eyes be open to the truth of the Bible.

They will always have answers for your postings because the
devil is such a manipulator and will give them the answers to
print to create disarray and havoc in the hearts of the believers.

If you must post there, just speak what you believe in as you
have experience for yourself. No one but arrogant and rude
people would try to disprove what you know as your own
personal experience (of course, we know they will try anyway)

Speaking about knowing God's will; I am in a middle of a great
bible study which I posted Part 1 in Manna for the Soul

I will post Part 2 today and hope this series helps you.

Take care and as always,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Pastoral Ministry: Fencing With Masters

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but
according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they
will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears
away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
--2 Timothy 4:3-4

Every one who has come to the years of responsibility seems to have
gone on the defensive. Even some of you who have known me for years
are surely on the defensive--you have your guard up all the time!

I know that you are not afraid of me, but you are afraid,
nevertheless, of what I am going to say. Probably every faithful
preacher today is fencing with masters as he faces his congregation.
The guard is always up. The quick parry is always ready.

It is very hard for me to accept the fact that it is now very rare
for anyone to come into the house of God with guard completely down,
head bowed and with the silent confession: "Dear Lord, I am ready
and willing to hear what You will speak to my heart today!"

We have become so learned and so worldly and so sophisticated and
so blase and so bored and so religiously tired that the clouds of
glory seem to have gone from us.  Christ the Eternal Son, 108-109.

"Lord, quiet my own heart before You and give me that humble spirit
of listening. Whenever I come before You (including this morning!),
may it be with my 'guard completely down, head bowed.... ready and
willing to hear what You will speak to my heart today.' Amen."

Well ... here is what happened today for the TBEAR so I will be back again later to tell you more so take care & thanks to all who took time to pray for me throughout all of this !! See you all again soon !!

- Well ladies check up went well but before heading in to see DOC. my dear loving husband surprized me w/ ah nice breakfast out to IHOP which I had ...

* 3 scrambled eggs
* Country Fried Steak w/ sausage gravy
* 1 pancake out of the 3
* Hot Herbal Tea

WOW ... it was all good too. We arrived to see DOC a bit on the early side so that was a good thing. I got right in & so ... they weighed me only to find out that since 2 weeks ago my weight was up & I had lost 10 POUNDS since then so that I was VERY HAPPY ABOUT !!

As I had everyone here at THE WELL & also at CHURCH & I also had the teachers & kids at school praying for me too so it must have all worked out for the best because ... here is ah what I found out ...

1. I'm NOT going to be doing HORMONE ~ REPLACEMENT THERAPY !! Because the last time I did it threw my BLOOD SUGAR READINGS out of CONTROL.

2. She told me that right now to be down for 6 WEEKS w/ ah HYSTERECTOMY is not my option at this time.

3. They are wanting 2 do something called a: ENDOMETRIAL ABIATION which sounds hard to say so I ah asked if it's needing to be done at this time. She told me that it depends on how bad I feel & with what I am wanting done. So, she said it's done on a OUTPATIENT TERM so if I were to have it done it would be best to have it done when I am not going to be having to get up & drive all over. So, that would be a choice for me to do this summer while my daughter is off from school.

ENDOMERIAL ABIATION - I will come back again soon & explain this more next time.

So ladies ... your asking * Is this something that I am thinking of doing * well my husband & I will be praying about it and thinking about it so when & if I do go in for this procedure then ... I will be letting all of you know about it ok.

So ... I ask that you please continue to keep me & my dh in prayer with this & pray that things will clear up on there own & I can get back to NORMAL !! ( 4 as NORMAL AS I CAN )

I would like to say thank you to all those who have been there for me. It's been wonderful to have all of you there for me so, take care !!

He Lives
(Click to hear music)

Words & Music: Alfred H. Ackley, 1887-

I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today;
I know that He is living, whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

Refrain
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;
I know that He is leading thru all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing will come at last.

Refrain

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving so good and king.

Refrain

Hi everyone.  Another busy day as had to take Pat to have another MRI.  It once again shows the tissue just to be a fatty tumor so now we wait to hear from the surgeon.  Hopefully he will remove it soon so that she can experience release from the pain and regain her full mobility.  I have spent a lot of time today trying to get my addresses into Outlook e-mail on my desktop and then trying to get our PC User Group Newsletter mailed out.  Still not successful on the 2nd item.  We have over 300 folks who are on our e-mail list for the newsletter and I wanted to be able to send out one message with the attachment.  The ISP Bounced it back and so far I haven't been able to work around it.  So will be working more on it tomorrow as well as attending our Learning Center monthly Volunteer Meeting.

Tbear, it sounds like you have some difficult decisions ahead but know you will make a careful decision.  Hope you are feeling better.

Good to read all of the postings.  It is late so just wanted to stop by before the day was over.

Judy McKenna

TBEAR - I'll continue to pray for you.

My heart is aching for the little Florida girl who hasn't been seen in over a week.

Now, I just heard on CNN, that a little girl named Katie, was found murdered.  She was from a small town in Indiana.  Apparently, drugs were involved.

Did anyone see Billy Graham last night?

Larry:  Thank you for the update on Pat.  Please tell her that I am praying for her as well.
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Nice to see you Judy and Larry!

Guess you're getting ready for your vacation to Florida, Judy.

Abby's program was really cute.  It included all five of the first grade classes, and they had cute costumes, lots of speaking parts, music and some choreography.  I'm so thrilled with the quality of all her teachers every time I visit her school.  Now she is out for a week for Spring break, so she will be coming here to spend part of it with us.  I have promised to teach her to sew, and she already has a couple patterns and material.  She is excited!!

Beth was sick today but is feeling better tonight.  Thanks for all the caring comments on her doctor visits this week; I don't think I remembered to thank you before.

I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight for a change.

Larry, best wishes to Pat on her health problems.

Karen, you are doing things right---praying before you make any decisions.  It's good you have time to do that, and it isn't an emergency situation.

Hi Janet, tell beth I am still praying for her.

Judy Have a blessed trip and may you go with God all the way to Florida and back.

Pat how is your pain level.

Larry that was good news for Pat. Just a fatty tumor.

TBear I pray you will make the right decision for you a nd your lifestyle.

Hey where is everyone anyway.?

Thanks for the interesting devotional, Etta Sue.  Something to ponder....

This has been a lovely Spring day here on the island.  Wendy & Misty have been out in the garden.  I went to carpet bowling for a short time....pretty rusty.  Refuse to give in to my unpleasant problems.   Had fun with some real nice folks.  Now Misty & I are both worn out.  I went into the garage to brush her and she fell asleep while it was being done.

Thanks for reminding me about Billy Graham, Judy.  He is one day late coming to us and will be on TV in another 30 minutes.  I do enjoy his programs and it is thrilling to see so many gathered together to listen to his sermons.

That was a nice verse, Carol.  (Joshua 1:9)  Nice and comforting.

Did anyone watch PrimeTime last night.  It was about the model who survived the tsunami and the incredible courage she showed and is showing.  God has certainly touched her heart in a big way.  There is another program scheduled for this evening that will deal with the courage of three other people who have overcome tremendous problems and what they have accomplished.  Nice to have something positive to watch for a change.  Think it might be the beginning of a new trend????

Here is a small smile:

Two Robins

"Lets do lunch"

"Wanna do lunch?"

Two robins were sitting in a tree. "I'm really hungry," said
the first one.

'Me, too" said the second. "let's fly down and find some lunch."

They flew to the ground and found a nice plot of plowed ground
full of worms. They ate, and ate and ate and ate 'til they could
eat no more.

"I'm so full I don't think I can fly back up to the tree", said the first
one.

"Me either. Let's just lay here and bask in the warm sun", said the
second ."

O.K" said the first. They plopped down, basking in the sun.

No sooner had they fallen asleep , a big fat tom cat snuck up
and gobbled them all up. As he sat washing his face after his
meal, he thought, " I love baskin' robins."

                ;D ;D

I have tied a  good size 'Budgie Toy Bell' onto Misty's collar to discourage this sort of attitude.  The Hummingbirds will be arriving any day and this should give a good warning.  It is like a small cow bell....if any of you come from cattle country!

Pleasant evening and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Pat

Marilyn, today has been a bit better.  I'm just not thinking about it too much.   ;D  Thanks for asking.

It will be nice to be able to teach Abby to sew, Janet.  That will be fun.

Liz, I missed Billy Graham last night.  I wish I had known.  Good chuckle.  Glad my cat is an inside cat and she just loves to watch the birds through the window.
