JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

We have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
John 4:42

The Samaritan woman had introduced Christ to her neighbors and many were saved.

Their words here brought a fourth revelation of the Lord to her soul. At first she had seen Him only as "a Jew" (v. 9), thinking it strange He would even speak to her. When He said He knew she was living with a man who was not her husband, she realized He was a "prophet" (v. 19), and as the talk continued, she learned that He was the "Christ" (v. 25), for whom both Jews and Samaritans were waiting.

And then came the final revelation--He was really "the Saviour of the world."
--W. P. W. McVey

Christ the Saviour of sinners
came into the world to save;
Sing His glory, His worth, His fame,
Jesus alone can save.

Palm Sunday.  It doesn't seem possible that it is Palm Sunday.

Today will be another busy day for me.  I man the lights at church.  I think they are going to start recording the sermons on CD's today but the Media Minister said for me not to worry about that...to concentrate on doing the lights.  So I will.  I think they will find that just the cassette tapes were a two-man job and now CD's?

Then this afternoon, Ivalou and I are going to a Bridal Shower.  A shower for our g-nephew's fiance.  It will be nice to see family.

I am hoping this cold is on the way out of my body.  I woke up in the night all sweaty.  I don't like that.  Then when I get up, I get chilled.  Oh, well.

Ali is crying.  She is making noises that is telling me....'I want my drink from the faucet.'  So I had better get up and turn on the faucet.

Getting daylight.  I think it has been raining.

Hi everyone.  I agree with Etta Sue that it is hard to believe that today is Palm Sunday already.  Easter comes so early this year.  This is the big day for us to sing "The Messiah" at our worship service this morning.  I hope there will be many there this morning to hear this magnificent music and words.  People are more familar with the Christmas portion of the Messiah than the Easter portion but there is such great music in both.

The sun is popping over the horizen as I write and it looks like the sky is perfectly clear this morning.

I am awaiting for Pat to arise to see how she is feeling this morning.  She was still running a termperature yesterday evening so hasn't thrown this off yet.  It is hard to remember the last time she has been this ill.

Etta Sue, it sounds like making the CD's is the way to go over dealing with all those tapes.  Enjoy the bridal shower this afternoon.

Pat, thanks for the devotional this morning.

Tbear, sure hope today is so special with your oldest son being there.  You all will have a lot to catch up on.

If you all haven't installed the free Microsoft AntiSpyware on your computers that are running Windows XP I highly recommend it.  The man who spoke to our User Group Friday spoke very highly of it and said that even though MS calls it a Beta version it is really a tried and true product that they bought from another company.  I had installed it earlier but forgot to put it back on my desktop when I restored it a couple of weeks ago.  I just this morning reinstalled it and also put it on my laptop last night.  Using that along with Adaware, Spyboot, and other Anti-spyware such as Norton's or AVG should pretty well protect your computer.  Here is the link:  http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Monring Friends ...

1st off Larry - My oldest son will NOT arrive not next week on Friday so I still have sometime to pray about it.  Also I thank you for your help & prayers throughout all of this too.

Friends I do ask a BIG FAVOR last night was sorta rough around here because 1 of our 2 cats that we had left had died in my daughter's arms and well you can imanage what it would be like if you had a family pet die ... so do keep her in prayer today as we bury yet another cat in the backyard.

Thanks again folks.  Try all & enjoy your FIRST DAY of SPRING see you all again soon !!

Hugs for all & Etta if you read this Kreative sends her love & prayers too.

Tbear, I wondered when I made that comment if it wasn't next week but didn't go back to look.  So you still have a week to anticipate and pray for the visit.  So sorry to hear of the loss of the pet.  Know this is always a hard time for a family as pets become an integral part of our families.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, yesterday was a pretty good day. Although I was at work, a sweet lady tapped on the door, said she had been worried about me because she had not seen me with my cane on the elevator, and she ended up sitting and visiting with me for about an hour. What a blessing to meet a new friend!

We shared a big hug before she returned to her work and me to mine.

My hip is still painful from the extra walking but will speak with the doctors about it Friday, if it continues.

Must go - time to get ready for church.

March 20 - In Need of the Colt of an Ass

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them, and straightway he will send them" (Matthew 21:3).

In His humanity, the Lord Jesus no doubt had the same needs that everyone else does-food, clothing, shelter, etc. Interestingly enough, it appears He only expressed one need in a recorded, verbal conversation. That need was the need for a little donkey colt to ride on as He entered Jerusalem for that last week before His bitterly cruel death.

For over three years, He had been walking all over Galilee and Judaea-even Samaria. Why would He suddenly need to ride now? Matthew tells us why. "All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass" (Matthew 21:4-5). This event had been prophesied four centuries earlier (Zechariah 9:9), and the time had finally come for Jesus to see that the prophecy was fulfilled. As He entered the city, the people took "branches of palm trees [hence the name Palm Sunday] . . . and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord" (John 12:13). However, just a few days later, these same crowds were crying, "Crucify Him" (Luke 23:21).

By a quirk of the calendar, Palm Sunday this year falls also on the date of the vernal equinox, the end of winter and beginning of spring. Perhaps we can suggest an appropriate metaphor to mark this convergence.

That is, as the final blasts of a bitter winter give way to a beautiful and fruitful spring, so this terrible "Passion Week" beginning so meekly and proceeding so cruelly, would shortly be overcome by the glorious resurrection and everlasting life. HMM

Good Morning I am feeling much better today. When I woke up I was actually breathing through my nose.  :o

Thank you Pat the the devotional today. I am staying home from church today. The wind is really blowing out there and  it is still raining. I do not think it would be a good thing for me to be greeting people at the door where the cold air is coming in and then shaking hands or hugging my Brothers and Sisters and exposing them to this cold. I don't like to miss church as I am always afraid I will miss something good.

Well I am going to watch John Hagee now.

Good Palm Sunday to all,

T.Bear:  Sorry for the sadness on loss of a pet in the family.  We grieved for daughter's elderly dog just last month so it does affect all.

Larry:  Thanks for the site, I will check with Don on the microsoft security although he has probably already downloaded it.  I hope Pat feels better soon.

Marilyn:  Good to care for yourself and not get a relapse.

Hi Everyone:

I'm watching CNN and President Bush getting involved with Terry Schiavo. Imagine her husband pulling out her feeding tube so she will starve to death!!  Especially when her parents want to look after her.  I am praying that President Bush will get the bill passed very soon to stop this disgusting thing. He says this is about "defending life".

March 20

Pastoral Ministry: Prophetic Preachers

Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know
what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred....
--1 Chronicles 12:32

A prophet is one who knows his times and what God is trying to say
to the people of his times....

Today we need prophetic preachers; not preachers of prophecy merely,
but preachers with a gift of prophecy. The word of wisdom is missing.
We need the gift of discernment again in our pulpits. It is not
ability to predict that we need, but the anointed eye, the power of
spiritual penetration and interpretation, the ability to appraise
the religious scene as viewed from God's position, and to tell us
what is actually going on....

Where is the man who can see through the ticker tape and confetti to
discover which way the parade is headed, why it started in the first
place and, particularly, who is riding up front in the seat of
honor?...

What is needed desperately today is prophetic insight. Scholars can
interpret the past; it takes prophets to interpret the present.
Learning will enable a man to pass judgment on our yesterdays, but it
requires a gift of clear seeing to pass sentence on our own day....

Another kind of religious leader must arise among us. He must be of
the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and has heard
a voice from the Throne.  Of God and Men, 19-22.

"Lord, I pray for that gift of prophetic insight. Move me beyond the
knowledge You've enabled me to gain through education, reading, and
study. I pray that I might lead as one 'who has seen visions of God
and has heard a voice from the throne.' Amen."

Hi!  It's been a good day for me, always is when one of the grandkids is around.  Curtis played with the worship team, and we had a good service.  After a nice lunch, we had a pretty good visit, and now he has gone back to his parents.

Pat called and asked me to convey to you that her internet connection is down.  She doesn't know what the problem is, has called for help, and was told the soonest anyone can come to see about it will be Tuesday.  She asks us all to help keep CP humming along until she can get back.  Of course, she misses everyone!

Larry, how did the Messiah performance go today?  I think it would be so awesome to be able to sit there and hear it all in person.  I know you enjoy being part of it, and God is pleased with your service.

Marilyn, wise decision to stay in until you are fully recovered, which should't be long now.  You sure don't want a "backset."

Oh, I just got an email about Terri Schiavo.  Congress is meeting today in special session to try and pass a law that President Bush will then sign, to save her life.  The Democrats are lining up in opposition to it.  WHY???  I do not understand anyone wishing that poor innocent woman dead.  Anyway, they hope to be able to reinsert her feeding tube tomorrow.  Keep praying!

I must go to SeniorNet and tell them that Pat can't get online.

See you all later!

Ruthie, thanks for that update!  I sure hope it gets passed soon too!

I am going to go help Chandraya practice her dances.

Have a wonderful day all!

I have been keeping busy today sorting through my PSP stuff and getting it organized in folders by subject. Still have  more to do I didn't realize that I had so much, I should probably burn some to a CD. I'll bet Etta Sue is much more organized than I am.

I am praying that I will be well enough by tomorrow to at least go to WM's there are only 7 of usd who go and besides I need a few things from the food closet. I am short this month and will be next month too since I am missing work. I need to find out about the Shares program here.  know thiat there is one I just don't know when and where it is.

I am keeping in touch with Fay to make sure she is ok and doing well without me. :-[

Janet thank you for relaying Pats message to us. I will be checking in here frequently too.

Ruthie nice to see you posting today , Hows all the doctors visits going? Are you getting yourself straightend out?

Ruth Ann Still praying for you Sister. In fact I am praying for everyone her on CP daily.

I got to see part of the Charles Stanley program thismorning, that was sure a blessing.

Well I will be back later.

Poor Pat! Well, at least she can fully concentrate on resting. Maybe this little bump in the road will in the end make life easier for her.

Pat when you return, know you've been very missed and that we love you.

Hi Janet, I think you are gorgeous!  Yes I am praying too for Terry Schiavo.  Apparently her husband has lied about a lot of things over the years.  Good thing God is in control.

Hi Soni

Marilyn, thank you for your comments.  I have had my implant surgery on my eye, but after having a colonoscopy and gastrocopy I had floaters that looked like a cobweb in that eye.  I am now going to see a retna specialist this week.  Also after having three root canals on the same side of my face and having pins but in them, one of the teeth has split just last night.  I am waiting for my dentist to call me back.  Don't know what they can do.

Going back to watch CNN.   God bless

Here I am...  Going to post this quickly.

Each time I get on here, I lose my connection.  I went out to the street with the dog and down the road there must be about 4 cable trucks even at this time of night all working on something.  Not sure what's wrong.

Each time I click on my email I'm knocked offline.

Hope I get this posted.

It was SO-O-O nice chatting with you on the telephone, Janet.

Must try to get this posted.

Possible good news for Terri Schiavo!

Apparently, she responded audiably (sp?) to her father after her feeding tube was removed. Hopefully this will cause doctors to reconsider.

Janet

We had a really good day today.  After church tonight, Darrel and I went to the Pizza Hut with a bunch of friends from church, and the fellowship was so nice.  We visited and had lots of good laughs.  And we have good news, too----we have a pastor candidate coming on April 3, and it sounds really promising!  ;D

Pat, it was great to talk to you, too!  Sorry I was so involved just at that time.  I will have to call you back when things are quieter.  Glad to see you managed at least a short post!  It was great having Curtis around today, we enjoy him so much.  I hope we get to see him more this week before he has to go back to school.

Time to hit the hay!  I didn't sleep much last night, and am hoping for more hours of zzzzzzzs tonight.  See you manana.
