Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:2-3

The Lord was preparing His disciples' hearts for His departure.

His going away involved the Cross with all its shame and dishonour. It involved His death and the tomb.

But He did not stay buried, He is risen and ascended on high.

But there is more. He left a promise, "If I go I will come again". Now that is good, no doubt about it, but here is the rich part "and receive you unto Myself; that where I am there ye may be also".

Even so come Lord Jesus.
—Reg L. Jordan

"A little while!" Our Lord shall come,
and we shall wander here no more;
He'll take us to our Father's home,
where He for us has gone before,
To dwell with Him, to see His face,
and sing the glories of His grace.

If That Isn't Love
(Click to hear music)

Dottie Rambo

He left the splendor of heaven
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha
There to lay down His life for me

And if that isn't love
Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
Yeh if that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love.

Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side
Then he spoke of love and compassion
And He took him to paradise

It's got to be love
Then the ocean is dry
There's no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can't fly
Yeh if that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
It's got to be love.

Just a bit of advice -- please stay on your toes and be alert today.  If something seems a bit "not right," it probably isn't.

Oh, and your shoe is untied. :)

Sonifo

hahaha..karma!  Thanks for the warning.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

I hope y'all have a wonderful day. It's raining here in Nashville, and I'm heading out to try to get deadlines met before heading to the hospital for the series of tests. Strange they're testing my veins and brain waves - and it's APRIL FOOLS DAY (even).

God bless us all.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Those Whom God Calls Fools

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken" (Luke 24:25).

This date has traditionally been used as a day when jokesters will play some kind of trick on a friend or relative, and when the victim falls for the little scam, the perpetrator calls him an "April fool!" and everybody laughs.

When God calls someone a fool, however, it is no joking matter. It is deadly serious, and anyone who fits that description urgently needs to repent and change his ways. For example, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 14:1; and Psalm 53:1). This warning surely applies both to those "intellectuals" who "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:22), and also to those who say they believe in God but completely ignore Him in their actions and decisions. "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him. . ." (Titus 1:16).

Remember too what God said to a man who lived only for himself and the wealth he could accumulate: "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?" (Luke 12:20).

This judgment could definitely be applied to any person who builds his or her life on anything other than the Word of God. Jesus described any man who "heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not" as like "a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand"-a house which, when the storms of life came, "fell: and great was the fall of it" (Matthew 7:26-27). Even dedicated Christians who question or ignore certain truths of Scripture are called fools by Him. "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken" (Luke 24:25). "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise" (Ephesians 5:15). HMM

I have posted a prayer request HERE

Good Morning;
QuoteI go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:2-3

Pat thank you for this particular scripture this morning. I know that the Lord has prepared a place for me even in this pending move that I have to make very soon. He has prepared the perfect place for me and will reveal it when the time is right.

Janet
I called the drugstore and then the doctors office to have the Lipitor changed to Zocor, I am to pick it up today so I will soon find out which drug  am getting, I can always ask to have it changed next month again.

Larry I am praying for you brother, that the Lord will supernaturally give you a new heart. "All things are possible to those who believe."

Ruth Ann is any of that flooding near you? I saw on TV last night that there is a  lot of flooding in the south, It think it was Alabama though.

Etta Sue   Give Jerry my love ok?

Karma cute stuff sister.

Sonja you have a blessed weekend too dear.

Etta - continueing to pray for Jerry !!

Carol

Thanks for the music.  I sure do like the George Beverly Shea tape of "If That Isn't Love" and have never listened to only the music without the voice.

Karma:  Thanks for the April Fool's joke.  We need laughter in our lives.

Larry:  You must have amazing stamina as you really do accomplish so much - I send my prayers for you and Pat.

Marilyn:  I know a lot of people can't take statins but Don does and he says more and more good things are found all the time so he wants to keep taking them.

Carol

Carrie

Hello Everyone,
Remeber me??  I know I have not been in here for quite sometime but life has been very busy and I was without a computer for nearly 3 weeks as well.  But my computer is all fixed and I have a spare few moments now.  I do not have time to read everything and get all caught up so I would just like to say that I hope everyone is doing well.
Pat my mom said you had been asking about me and I appreciate you thinking of me.  As per usual I have a jammed packed weekend ahead so I will try to get on here again sometime soon.  Until then God Bless you all!!
Carrie

Janet

Marilyn, I am not sure that Zocor is better than Lipitor.  Lovastatin is the generic of Mevacor, that's what I ask for, and it saves me a ton of money.  I only take 1/2 a tablet, and can tolerate it for a while, but if I take a whole one, my shoulders soon start hurting.  I wish you well with whatever you decide to take.

Ruth Ann, the first time Beth had a brain MRI, they told her they didn't find anything!  ;D  So Maybe they will tell you the same thing.  We will be waiting to hear a good report from you on your tests.

Hi, Carrie!  Good to see you again!  Enjoy your busy weekend.

Karma, thanks for the warinig!  I had forgotten this was April Fool's Day until I read that.

Hi, Soni!  Got some good photos to show us?  Huh?  Huh?  Huh?  We want to see what you have been doing!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO KAREN AND HUBBY!!  And many more!  Enjoy your celebrations.

Pat, that is also one of my favorite scriptures, and I'm sure it has been of more comfort to more Christians through the centuries than almost any other.  Hope you are enjoying a pain free day.  (((hugs)))

I have some things to do, best be getting after them.  I had a call from a friend in Dallas and we talked for about an hour, had some good laughs and a good visit.  That's refreshing.

See you good folks later!

Hi Carrie, it's so good to see you.  Yes, your mother and I are very dear friends and I try to get caught up from her each time I speak to her about her daughters and son.  Nice to see you.

Hi Janet...   That's one of my favourite scriptures as well.  What a lovely promise it is.

Marilyn, I'm so happy that you enjoyed the scripture as well.  When do you have to be moved by?

Yes, thanks for the "smile", Karmat!  HAHAHA!

Carol, we'll have to find some more music that you might like.  Nice to have you dropping in.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Soni, with your family.

Ruth Ann, lovely to see you in here today and I hope that you are recovering from your recent health problems.

Everybody must be busy getting ready for the weekend.  Not much activity in here today.  I've been getting a lot of small jobs done, and a couple big ones, too.  Puff, pant!  ;)

Hi everyone.  We had some rain this morning and suppose to get a lot more later this evening and tonight but it hasn't rained all afternoon.  However, we haven't seen the sun.

Happy Anniversary, Tbear.  Hope you have a delightful weekend.

I take 80 mgs of Zocor a day as apparently it also has some effect on heart disease besides the control of cholestral.  When my doctor doubled the daily dosage my cholestral was in very good shape and when I mentioned that to him he said it was needed for other purposes.  Fortunately it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects for me such as the aching.  Marilyn, I hope you don't have to take it very long.

Carrie, good to see you posting again.  It sounds like you are staying very busy.  Glad you got your computer fixed.

Ruth Ann, hope your tests have gone well today.

I think I mentioned a few days ago that I had ordered a TV card for my computer.  It came yesterday and I installed it and am now enjoying having TV on my montior.  It also has FM radio and while we don't get many FM stations where we live I can get my favorite station, which plays classic country music.  Since I have the second monitor I can have it open on the second monitor and it doesn't get in the way of the montior from which I do my computer work.  I have been following the situation with the last hours of the Pope.  I really don't have room for a TV and the card was only $38 with shipping and the screen can be resized from very small to a full screen.  I really wanted it to watch the sports on the weekend and to keep an eye on the news.  Of course, since it is new I have had it on more today than I will normally, although have also been listening to the FM radio.  If any of you are interested let me know and I will tell you where I got it.  It was simple to install and setup.  I can also record programs with it but probably won't do that as never find the time to look at them.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Janet

Scanning the phone book for a garbage collection service, I came across one that clearly wasn't afraid to tackle any job. Their ad read: "Residential hauling. All types of junk removed. No load too large or too small. Garages, basements, addicts."

Hi y'all.  This is about the third time I've been in here today, but the first time I've had time to post.  I'm sitting here waiting for some xrays to get sent over to my chiropracter's office.  I'm still hurting in the right pelvis/hip area, so I'd sure like them to get moving on this.  Blessings be upon y'all.

Etta Sue

Good evening.  I found Jerry today about the same.  Maybe a little less alert but about the same.  His BP is low.  The nurse took it three times and it was low each time.  As for other things on his vitals, they didn't tell me.  He is getting real weak and tires so easy.  I did get a code word to find out information when I call.  I will see how that works before going to bed...see if they give me any information.  I did call for a nurse twice today and it was 15-20 minutes each time before someone came in the room to see what was needed AFTER I told them on the speaker.  Also when I went in the room, his oxygen mask was not on his face.  Jerry doesn't like it and pulls it off.  I told them they need to restrain his right arm when there isn't a visitor with him and she said they didn't like to restrain their patents.  What do you do then?  Camp out in the room?

Marilyn ~ I have taken Lipitor, Mevacor, Zocor, Crestor, Prevachol, Zetia and probably some other statin drugs.  Mevacor lowered my cholesterol but I was having chest pains.  Nothing else lowered mine until I was put on Vytorin 6 months ago.  It was 167 the last check March 4th and the previous three months I ate everything that didn't move.  No diet whatsoever other than my normal stuff like skim milk, whole wheat breads/crackers, Splenda and such.  So what works for some, may not work for others.  But for me, I would rather take the statin than the other stuff.  My insurance covers the statins...not the flax seed, fish oil and such.

Larry ~ I am praying for you, buddy!  Gotta keep that heart tickin'!

Karma ~ I needed that laugh today.  I think they were playing practical jokes on each other at the hospital but I didn't want to hear about it.  I don't think that is the place to be playing practical jokes.

Soni ~ Yeah, where's some pictures?  We need some new ones of the family.

Al ~ Sure hope you get to be pain free soon.  Like Marilyn says....it is no fun getting old!!!

Janet ~ When you get your jobs done, come on east!!  I am sure I have some jobs to do.  I might even help you do them!!!

Pat ~ Thank you for the devotion today.  What a promise?  I am ready.  Are you ready?  I asked Jerry today if he was ready and he shook his head yes...a very, definite YES!  Sad for me, but happy for him.

Carrie ~ Now that your computer is fixed we need to see more of your posts.  Welcome back, Carrie.

Carol ~ How are things in Colorado?  Are things greening up yet?  Brown is changing to green here...slowly but surely.

Karen ~ So so nice to talk to you this morning.  We need to do that more often.  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!  I know you had a wonderful evening out to celebrate.

Ruth Ann ~ And did you find out about your brain and vein waves...oops! I mean, veins and brain waves.  I too hope you have some.

On the way from the hospital, I called Ivalou on my cell phone and asked when she had eaten last.  Enough time, so I pulled in her drive and she got in my car.  We ate at Red Lobster.  Very nice to have someone to eat out with for almost a month.  Three weeks today, Jerry had his stroke.  God Bless Jerry

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.  I hope that you are feeling some better.

It has been a terribly stormy & windy day, cold too :-\  I went into town to see a Carpet Bowling competition and got thoroughly chilled.  We are going to have the Senior's Games here in the valley this year.  Wish Al was still here as we always thought to enter if they came ....  His passing hs left a big void in this person's life.

This week I am finally going to get the medical scans needed to help determine what is causing me so much abdominal pain.  Hopefully, this will be an answer and things can move ahead.

Larry, I think that you are a very brave fellow and your postings surely do encourage this person to keep a positive attitude.  You are in my prayers.

Tomorrow Amanda is supposed to get some sort of award for a banner she created for the local mall.  She is busy applying for scholarships these days and getting her portfolio all set for advanced art studies.  We are going to attend a classical music concert at the church in the evening, all going well.  It is young classical artists from the island...we have some marvelous talent.  The money will go to improve the kitchen & meeting area of the church.  Good cause.

Nice to see wonderful young folks doing 'good' things. Then we have the  headlines in the paper about 10 - 12 year olds attacking people in the Vancouver Parks, using knives, etc.  Even the police are shocked.  The devil is really on a roll these days.  Dividing countries thro' arrogant politicians, churches thro' untrue doctrine, families, businesses.....and on and on.....and so it goes.  I am listening to the Gaither Gospel Hour in the background and that certainly gives one a lift.  Surely do like hearing Vestal & Howard Goodman singing.  Their music still lives on.

Small Smile:

Two of my nieces, Brittnee, 9, and Jessica, 6, were determined to catch my cat. I knew they'd been unsuccessful when I overheard Jessica exclaim, "I hate that cat, Billy." Then, unbeknownst to me, Jessica expressed that sentiment with a black marker on a closet door.

When Brittnee came over later in the week, I asked her about the scribbled message on the closet. She quickly explained her sister had done the deed.

I asked Brittnee to scrub the marker off the closet, but she refused. Jessica did it, so she should have to clean it, Brittnee argued.

I countered that since she had been with the culprit during the crime, she shared the guilt. "If you go into a bank with someone who robs it, you'll have to go to jail, too," I explained.

As Brittnee begrudgingly scrubbed the closet door, I heard her mumble, "I know one thing. I'm never going into a bank with Jessica.

Pleasant evening and God Bless.

Thanks Janet!

By the way, we have a few hours of free time in Roatan when we leave next Friday. Do you know anything about the Canopy Tou Ziplines?

Marilyn

Something to laugh about.

Show and Tell:

A kindergarten teacher gave her class a "show and tell" assignment. Each
student was instructed to bring in an object to share with the class that
represented their religion.

The first student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is
Benjamin and I am Jewish and this is a Star of David."

The second student got up in front of the class and  said, "My name is
Mary.  I'm a Catholic and this is a Rosary."

The third student got in up front of the class and said, "My name is
Tommy. I am Baptist, and this is a casserole."

Sorry, Ryan, I know nothing about that.  What is it?  Parasailing, maybe?  I did that once, and it is really FUN!  ;D

I came back in to say I'm closing the door a little early tonight.  I need to get some ZZZs!
