Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
John 12:3

A hush must have accompanied this scene for Mary's devotion was truly a noble act of great love.

She acted selflessly and in true worship to her Lord. Out of her flask flowed costly ointment anointing His precious feet.

Out of her overflowing heart flowed worship upon the One she loved. The Lord Jesus was the focus of her worship.

As we remember and worship the Lord Jesus, is our heart overflowing in worship to Him?
—Jim Comte

For what Thou art,
we praise and worship and adore:
To Father, Son and Spirit
be the glory evermore.

Are you at a loss for something to praise God for? How about thanking God for all the things that didn't happen to you today!

Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
You might be a dog lover if:
You have more dog toys in your bed than people.

Ruth

That is a wonderful devotion to start the day with.

No rain so far but is on its way later this afternoon I hear, for now it is overcast and cloudy.
There are many times in the day I thank the Lord for watching over me.
So now it is time for me to head out the door for work.

Ruth
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Not only do I praise our Lord for life today, but I praise our Lord Who IS life today!

The Omniscience of God

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me" (Psalm 139:1)

The marvelous 139th Psalm consists of a prayer by King David to his King, the omniscient, omnipresent, holy, Creator God, the King of kings. In this psalm David reflects on and praises God for His majestic attributes, and by doing so, is driven to introspection.

David claims that God knows when we sit down or stand up (v.2). He even knows our thoughts (v.2). Furthermore, He knows our direction and habits (v.3). He knows our words better than we do ourselves (v.4). In everything, God knows and guides (v.5). "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me" (v.6), David claims, and neither he nor we, trapped as we are in finiteness, can comprehend this omniscience.

Where can we go to escape His omnipresence (v.7)? Neither to heaven nor hell (v.8 ). Not to the air or the sea (v.9). Neither darkness nor light (vv.11-12) can shield us from His presence. In all, He leads and guides (v.10).

Thinking such lofty thoughts should compel us to praise and thankfulness as it did David, especially as it relates to our own creation and growth. God knew us in the womb (v.13) and controlled each stage of our embryonic development (vv.14-16). He knew and planned all the events of our lives (v.16). "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!" (v.17). They are innumerable (vv.17-18).

Reflection on God's holiness makes David painfully aware of his own sinfulness, as it should us. Recognition of God's nature should bring us to a place of submission and a desire for holiness, as well as a yearning to follow fully the omniscient God. "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (vv.23-24). JDM

Good Morning Thank you Pat for the devotional this morning.

Yesterday I took Versal to the doctor, she coughing a lot and said her lungs feel like she has pneumonia. Today I am taking her for  another chest xray that will be 3 this month.

Fay is doing well her wound is finally healed. Thank you Jesus. It has been 6 months since her surgery.

I am ok today, the last 2 mornings I have awakened with pains in my right hip and knee, that hasn't bothered me for quite a long time. Why Now? It is the attack of the devil. My neck doesn't hurt today so he attacks my knee.

Enough of my complaints of pain. There are other's here worse off than I am and I am praying for you Pat, RuthAnn, Al and Judy Mc.

I have put in a new report on Jerry.  Good and bad news.  Click here to read.

I don't think I am going to see Jerry today.  I will wait until tomorrow.  I have two loads of laundry on the line drying.  I have taken the trash to my brother's drive and stopped in with my coffee to talk to Ivalou.  She was heading to her dentist so we had to cut our talk short.  Bright and sunny here today but predicting storms this evening and night.

Will be back later to post the NEM

Hi all,

My allergies are causing a little dizziness in me but I wanted to
stop by and share a bible study message with you.

One of the most prevalent challenges of the Christian walk is the charge to wait upon the Lord.

It sometimes seems to tear against our every fiber to step back and choose not to act on our own in the midst of a storm.

Amid your trouble, do you wait on the Lord, or do you quickly act to alleviate the pressure?

No matter how harsh your storm or how deep your grief or trouble, God is in control, and all He asks is that you trustfully wait upon Him.

David even said that he would do so in silence, not moaning, not begging. Just trusting.

This is not standing idly by; rather, it is a pro-active choice to wait in expectation that God will equip and sustain you during the storm and ultimately deliver you in whatever manner He chooses.

You may want to mark Isaiah 64:4 in your Bible. In moments of struggle, turn to this passage and Psalm 62 as reminders that God, in your patience, is diligently working for you.

Please take care,

Happy Birthday, Nards--(may I share a piece of your
birthday "cake")

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Hi everyone.  Just a quick check-in this afternoon.  I really haven't accomplished very much today as guess I got pretty tired last night.  Just got up from resting for about 3 hours and do feel more peppy.  I have choir practice this evening.

Happy Birthday Nards.

Good to see all of the postings today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NARDS!!  I like your toasty cake!

I had a sleepless night last night, so am feeling really draggy today.  I hate nights like that.  :-\ >:(

I have to make a decision as to what to do about my monitor.  If I call the computer fix-it guy, he charges $50 per hour; and I can get a refurbished monitor for $74.00...........hmmmmmmmmm..............I sure do miss my email----and chatting on MSN or Yahoo.  :'(

See you next time I trudge up here.

Hello everyone.  It rained most of the day here, and is dark and dreary right now.

Time to go for now.

Happy Birthday Nards (Karma's "bestest husband ever)....we KNOW that Karma!!

Al:  I totally agree with your comment this morning.

Marilyn:  You are so sweet to remember to pray for me.  Now I must go to the Prayer forum and see what Etta Sue has posted about our dear Jerry!

I'll be back later.

Janet:  Wish I knew you were not sleeping last night - I'd have called you....I was awake too.! :)
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, here's my second attempt at posting. I told y'all the first time that I got off early (my boss wouldn't let me overdo today). At any rate, my email is back alive again, and I even felt better enough to fix a small but complete supper for Leslie and me. (Thank goodness for a toaster oven and a microwave!!!).

We had crispy fish sticks, pickled beets and a baked potato each. We commented that was a meal like I fixed when the kids were young.

Well, it's time to rest for the evening. I want to get my legs propped up again to try to avoid a repeat performance for the back.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann
