Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
1 John 3:1

The young believer revels in this--I was a lost sinner, at enmity with God, and now I am called a son of God, a child in God's family.

Here is marvellous love indeed "that brings a poor, vile sinner into His house of wine."

It, however, is not only for the young, because the more we mature in the things of the Lord, the more we marvel at the wonders of His love.

No matter how old we are in the faith, may we never look on His love in any lesser degree.
--Reg. L. Jordan

Behold, What Love!
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Robert Boswell, 19th Century
Musician:  James McGranahan, 1840-1907

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.   Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.   And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1 John 3:1-3
[/list]

Behold, what love, what boundless love,
The Father hath bestowed
On sinners lost, that we should be
Now called "the sons of God!"

Refrain
Behold, what manner of love!
What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
That we, that we should be called,
Should be called the sons of God!

No longer far from Him but now
By "precious blood" made nigh,
Accepted in the "Well beloved,"
Near to God's heart we lie.

Refrain

What we in glory soon shall be,
It doth not yet appear;
But when our precious Lord we see,
We shall His image bear.

Refrain

With such a blessèd hope in view,
We would more holy be,
More like our risen, glorious Lord,
Whose face we soon shall see.

The Great Divider

"Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division" (Luke 12:51).

From the very beginning, God has been a great divider. On the first day of creation, "God divided the light from the darkness"; on the second day He "divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament" (Genesis 1:4,7). When God first created man, they walked together in sweet fellowship, but then sin came in and made a great division between man and God. Nevertheless, "when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son" (Romans 5:10).

The price has been paid for full reconciliation with our Creator, but "men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil" (John 3:19), so Christ Himself is now the One who divides. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:36).

Jesus Christ divides all history and all chronology. Things either happened "Before Christ" (B.C.) or "in the Year of our Lord" (A.D.). Men are either under the Old Covenant or the New Covenant. Most of all, He divides humanity. "There was a division among the people because of Him" (John 7:43; see also John 9:16; 10:19). These divisions because of Him can cut very deep. "The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother" (Luke 12:53).

Finally, when He comes to judge all nations, "He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: . . . And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" (Matthew 25:32,46). The division is life or death, light or darkness, heaven or hell, Christ or antichrist-and the choice is ours! HMM

Good Morning: Thank you Pat for the devtional this morning. Even as mature Christians we need to be reminded of our sinful past now and then . When are we even not sinners? Only at that moment that we repent and not a moment longer.

Pat you asked what I am crocheting, I am making a Sweater and Hat for the White Teddy
Bear that sits on my bed. I am making it in my favorite color, purple of course, but varigated purple.

I had another bad night with my right knee being so painful, It seems like every time I start to get better in one place another flares up. Getting old is really starting to  bug me.  8)

I just pray that the decompression table (traction) will pull those vertabra apart enough to  unpinch those nerves in my neck and allow the discs to plump out again.

I am looking forward to being in church this morning.

Your crocheting sounds lovely, Marilyn.  I also like purple.  And it's one of the colours I can wear nicely. ;)

Well, Guelph is covered in SNOW!!  Can you believe it?

Pat I have a lot of purple clothes and also wear it well. I didin't even have to get new clothes for the Red Hat Society just the hat, and that was a gift. Although I would like to get someof the official Red Hat stuff maybe a boa or a scarf. Everything is so expensive except the Boa and the Scarf.

Both of the people I take to church are not going today. One is at her daughters house in Oregon. But Versal is still not feeling well. She has bronchitis.

We had a lovely service today, with a guest pastor from Dodge City.  Next Sunday, we will have our own pastor Kurt Coleman and family with us.  I can hardly wait, even though the church has pulled together and even grown during this time of having no pastor.

The church body has been doing a lot of repairs and refurbishing on both the church and the parsonage.  I am going to go help paint inside the parsonage; that is something I do well.  I used to support my family doing that kind of work.  It is harder now (a little) because I am older now (a little) ;) but still something I can do to help bless our new pastors family.

Abby didn't get to come, we all decided next weekend will be better as we will have more time, and they are having their Open House at the store on Friday and Saturday, so that's a good time for Abby to be with Grandma.  :)  I sure miss her, and she misses me, too.  They grow up WAY too quickly!

Darrel says lunch is ready----see you later!

Hi everyone.  Just got up from a nap after attending church this morning.  Our new minister is really bringning very powerful sermons.  He is preaching a series of sermons based on Acts 2:41-47 and the topic today was discipleship.  Our choir sang a very pretty anthem.  Since next Sunday is youth Sunday and they will be doing the service, including being in the choir, we are getting a week off from practice this coming week.

Pat, I think you must have let a little of that cold air get down this way.  It was 34 here last night and we have frost warnings out for tonight as well.  Sure lad I didn't take the electric blanket off the bed.  I just don't rest well if I am not warm.  I expect that Tbear and Etta Sue are also seeing some rain and/or snow and colder weather.  At least at this time of year we know it won't last.

Janet, nice to see you had such a fine retreat.  I am sure you must be a very good painter as you probably apply your artistic abilities to general painting as well.  It is always an exciting time in a church to welcome a new pastor.  Know that this will be a long week for Abby in anticipation of being with you and Darrell next weekend.

Marilyn, sorry to hear that you are having new pains in your knee.  I have to agree that getting older isn't a lot of fun sometime.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional message this morning.

Rachelle, it was good to see you posting yesterday.  It is a lot of work to get a house ready to sell.

Ruth Ann, I was glad to see your posting yesterday and know that your back is getting a little better.  Do hope that improvement continues.

Tomorrow morning I have a nurse appointment at Kaiser.  It seems that when you have a HIV test (which is a part of the tests they do in qualifying you for a possible heart transplant) you have to sign a special consent form and can't do that until you are counseled.  I will have all the blood tests done tomorrow while I am at Kaiser.  Then will try to get the other tests scheduled that I need to have.  My friend Rod is going with me tomorrow and after the tests we will just accidently stop in at Fry's.  :)

Pat continues to do well in recovering from her surgery.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Etta Sue

Running behind today.  I usually post before church but not today.  Too many emails.

Church was wonderful as usual.  Today I took my camera to church and when anyone asked about Jerry, I took their picture.  Then when I got home I ran all the pictures through Paint Shop Pro and them put them on a blank greeting card with the words..."Look who said, 'How's Jerry?' April 24, 2005"  Pretty neat card, I think.  Hope Jerry can see the pics.

Next Sunday we are having Tabernacle Sunday.  A replica of the Tabernacle has been built in the church's back yard.  They are having tours before the refreshments and then Consecration Service will be at 7:26 p.m.  They did this at a church camp once for teenages but this is a first for Park Chapel Christian Church.  I have asked Tony and Charlene to go with me.  The pastors said if you can't make the morning AND the evening service to come to the evening service so they must really be making it spectacular.

I didn't get home until 1:30 p.m. from church today after stopping at Radio Shack and Bath and Body.  After eating a bite, I have been online every since.  Getting tired.

Oh, yes.  A dusting of snow early this morning.  Was 32°F when I left for church...windy and blustery!  47°F right now but I am chilled sitting here in my Computility Room!

Etta Sue, we woke up this morning with absolutely everything covered with wet heavy snow.  During the day, it's melted almost away though so that's good.

Sounds like you'll have a great crew working on the pastor's home, Janet.  I love it when people get together like that to do these jobs.  I bet you miss Abbey.

I'm glad that Pat is doing much better, Larry.  How long will she need to be helped at home?  Is this a long recovery?

Yes, Marilyn, purple for me!  And red if it's cherry red but not orange red.  I also like the old stand-by of navy or black too.

Here's one I really like...

Lily of the Valley
(Click to hear music)

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
Song of Solomon 2:1

Words: Charles W. Fry, 1881; first appeared in the Salvation Army's The War Cry, December 29, 1881.
Fry wrote the lyrics in Lincoln, England, while working with the Salvation Army there.

Music: William S. Hays; adapted by Charles W. Fry

I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.

Refrain
He's the Lily of the Valley,
the Bright and Morning Star,
He's  the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.

Refrain

He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll.

Refrain

SNOW???  That seems so strange, but then......I don't live where it snows much.

I went to church on Paltalk today. :)  Took awhile to find a good room, but then the service was great.  I met some nice Christians.

My son came Friday and mowed my lawn for me.  It was so tall that I didn't know if I could do the worst part.  He used the riding mower (I've never gotten on it)and got it all done.  I just use the power mower and do fine if I don't let it go so long.  This nice weather was perfect timing.

The fuel pump (I think that's what it is) went on my car on Friday.  It died just below my house, and I was able to start it and drive slowly home.  (Thank you, Lord)  I called a place near me and was told they were a month behind!  My daughter said my son in law said he could fix it, but with his hours, I don't see how he could do any more.  I'll let it sit awhile and see if he gets to it.  It would sure save me some money.  I was going to have to put it on a charge card, and I hate to do that.   God knows all about it........ :)

It's pretty quiet here today.  I guess I can't complain......can I?  I haven't posted much lately.  I like to see what you're all doing, though. :)

designtrade

it snowed here yesterday :( im in a rush today and so i promise to post more tomorrow.

karmat

Nita, what is Paltalk?

Snowed here, too.  Not much, but it seems to have blown away during the day (too cold for it to have melted).

I found out today that one of the mobile home/trailors in our neighborhood was busted this week for being a meth lab.  ugh.  Our area is having a real problem with meth.  I call it redneck cocaine.  Had that lab exploded, though, it would have taken out the whole blasted (no pun intended) neighborhood.  <karmat shudders>

So, how are things with ya'll?

Have an awesoem week!!

SmokeytheDog

We had wet snow here in michigan. I posted some photos in my gallery.

We are to get snow tomorrow.  Hope it doesn't stay around for long.

Karmat....how awful!  Drugs seem to be a problem everywhere!

Etta Sue, say Hi to Jerry tomorrow for me.

Time for bed.  Night everyone.
