Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

A place called Gethsemane.
Mt.  26:36

A place that is called the Pavement. . . Gabbatha.
John 19:13

A place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull.
Mt.  27:33

Gethsemane means "olive press." Here in sorrow He sweat as it were great drops of blood.

It was at Gabbatha, called the Pavement, that they "stumbled at that stumblingstone" (Rom. 9:32).

Golgotha is the place of "a skull." Here He died. The blessed result was His manifestation in resurrection life at Galilee.

He took our place in sorrow, rejection, and death to bring us resurrection life.
--Tom Steere

Thou hast been here, Lord Jesus, but Thou art here no more;
The terror and the darkness, the night of death are o'er;
Great captain of salvation, Thy triumphs now we sing;
O grave, where is thy vict'ry? O death, where is thy sting?

A blessed day to everyone.  I have missed the regular devotionals and you all on New Every Morning.  While I was in the ministry I found it really inspiring to hear how God is working in your lives.  I am now working full time selling second homes in Spain, Turkey, South Africa and Cyprus.  It is really an exciting and fulfilling career, selling dreams; even though it is a short lived victory for the new home owner! My greatest regret is no longer offering a message that offers living hope and an assurance of a permanent home with our creator.

While in Turkey recently I was able to talk to an Armenian Christian, he explained their history to me and I was shocked by the way their plight was ignored by the Christians in the West.  Here in the UK little notice is taken of the Christian voice, however the Muslim demand and get their voice heard and often it is the Christians who are at fault.  Please remember to appreciate what you have and to support the Christian workers and especially your ministers.  When they inevitably make a mistake, show them you appreciate them and help them to be better in their service to God's people; it is what God thinks that matters, not what we think.

Marilyn

Gareth thank you for the reminders that we as Christians need to be more aware of our Christiasn brothers and sisters in other countries. Oh how we need to support our missionaries. Our Women's Ministries have several things that we do for the Missionaries. On f those things is saving stamps to turn into Mission headquarters to to used to buy books for the World Missions programs. We just cut off the 1/2 that has the stamp and turn those in to the WM"S and then we manicure (cut) them to the correct size pack them up and ship them off to the district office in Sacramento.

The Rod from Jesse's Stem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" (Isaiah 11:1-2).

This is one of the great prophecies of the Old Testament, clearly foretelling both the human and divine natures of the coming Messiah. Jesse was the father of David whose line of kingly heirs would eventually be cut off by virtue of their sins (e.g., Jeremiah 22:28-30; 36:30). Yet God had also promised David that his seed would, indeed, establish his throne forever (II Samuel 7:16; Jeremiah 33:17).

Therefore, there must somehow arise a "rod" (literally, "shoot") out of the "stem" (literally, "dead stump") of Jesse's family tree, emerging as a live "Branch" from the roots of this tree. This would eventually be fulfilled in Christ's virgin birth, with the legal right to David's throne transmitted through Joseph (see the genealogy in Matthew 1:6-16), but the natural birth from Mary, a descendant of Jesse and David via Nathan, another of David's sons (see Luke 3:23-32) who had not been in the kingly line.

Thus Christ was fully human from conception on, but the conception itself would have to be miraculous. At the same time, He would still retain His divine nature, for the seven spirits of God (note Revelation 1:4) would be fully present in Him. These seven spirits (actually one Holy Spirit, manifest sevenfold as the Spirit of the Lord, of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge, and of the fear of the Lord) would be fully and constantly present in Him. Of no other man in all history could all this be said. Jesus Christ alone has fulfilled Isaiah's ancient prophecy. "In that day there shall be a root of Jesse, . . . and His rest shall be glorious" (Isaiah 11:10). HMM

Larry Hanna

Good morning everyone.  It is a truly beautiful day here today.  The sky is so clear and the air is crisp and clean feeling.  Pat and I went out to breakfast this morning at the IHOP, something we haven't done for a long time.  She had been couped up in the house since Thursday.  We aren't going to church this morning as Pat doesn't feel like sitting for an extended period of time and the choir is not singing today since it is youth Sunday and the youth are filling the choir.  We may try to get to the library for a few minutes this afternoon.

Gareth, your new line of work sounds interesting.  You must be traveling a lot.  Are these like timeshares you are selling or ownership outright?  Are these resort areas where you are selling?

I know we all will be remembering Jerry today and especially Etta Sue and Jerry's family as they have the funeral this afternoon.

Marilyn, are these like green stamps that are given by stores to be turned in for cash or merchandise?  We don't have any of these stores operating anymore in our area.

Pat, glad your family was able to spend time with you yesterday and help you in several ways.

JudyB

My Condolences Etta Sue and family.

This has been a busy week and this will be a full month.

I have the Gaither's Homecoming Radio on and it is an uplifting 1/2 hour.

Have a good God day everyone

Ruthie

Hi Judy & John, I would love to hear the Gaither Homecoming album.   Right now I need a new sterio.  I can only play one CD at a time on my computer.   Because music is so important, I think a new sterio would be a priority.   Hope everything is going good for you.

Hi Pat, hope you are not is a lot of pain today.   Would you like a nice massage?!  I was in Keswick yesterday at a Home Show.   I met some businesses that would be a very big advantage to me.  One was massages.  Wow that is what I will get in the near future.  Sound good to you too Pat.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

Janet

Gareth, it's really nice to have you back!  I think it soundls like a nice line of work, too, but, as you said, not the same eternal results in people's lives.  But if you get to travel to all those places, that sounds really fun, too!

Our new pastor preached his first sermon as pastor here today, and did a great job.  We had a fellowship dinner, and I ate too much. I will bet none of you has ever done that, huh?  ;)

Abby is wanting to go swimming, so I promised to take her.  I think she might be the only one in the pool, so I will take my suit just in case, but I am really not in the mood to swim today. (Imagine that!)

Pat, glad you had Andrew and Terena to help with some things yesterday.  I thought about you often, along with prayers.

Praying for Etta Sue and for Jerry's family today.  These things are hard, but for the Christian, not anything to compare with those who don't have that blessed hope of seeing one another again in Heaven.

I must go take Abby to the pool.  See you later.

Larry those stamps are the regular stamps that we put on letters. We even collect the non profit stams that come on some of the non profit mail we all receive. If anyone wants to save stamps and send them to me that would be so cool. I think all the AG churches may be doing the same thing.

So good to hear from Gareth.  We have missed you, dear brother; but happy for you that you are enjoying your new line of work.

I too, was saddened to learn of "the gabbyone's" passing.  (that was what Jerry liked to call himself, on the computer).  He will be missed by so many of us, especially by his family, and his dear and faithful friend, Etta Sue.

John and Judy B., is it a CD of the Gaithers that you are listening to?  I have a couple of their videos and one CD.  I enjoy their music very much....some singers more than others.

Norm and I are just back from visiting our daughter in Kingston, Ontario.  We had one of the nicest visits ever.

I just had a phone call from a friend whom we met on our vacation in Dayton Florida.  She had been trying to reach us all weekend, apparently I had given her my phone number----and had written it down incorrectly.  She persisted, though, and tracked us down by calling "information".  Good thing we are listed in the phone directory.

I missed going to church this morning, so I'm looking forward to watching Charles Stanley tonight at 8:pm.

Marilyn, how does the ministry use the stamps after you send them?   I could save stamps for you.

Janet

Well, Abby had a good swim, me too, I guess, and she went home tired and happy and satisfied with her time at Grandma's.

I too enjoy listening to the Gaither Hour on TV.  It is on here every Friday evening at 8PM.

I worked today, and have just gotten home from a coffee outing with my parents.  Quite enjoyable.

Time to turn off the Computer and relax before bed.

Marilyn

After prayer meeting tonight  was invited to Willa's house for a ham sandwich, well when I got there she just fixed me a big ole plate of ham and all the fixin's that go with it and also a big piece of chocolate pie. I just got home and I am stuffed. I sure hope that Cholest- off works 'cause no matter how hard I try to eat the right stuff there is always something that I shouldn't be eating.

Nite all  Love you all, my precious brother and sisters in the Lord. I mean that.

Marilyn, that sounds so good.  That was so nice of her to do that.

I'm having a bad day today with the spasms so can't sit here long.

Long time... no post...

We've been extremely busy here in Belarus the past month or so.  Teaching classes, getting new visas, getting ourselves registered, getting our car registered, pastoring the International Fellowship, and seemingly 1000 other little things.  But Praise the Lord, all I have to do this week is a couple of reports for Headquarters.

In regards to the stamps, they are resold, and each one makes just a little bit of money, but you add up a little bit of money multiplied by 1000's of stamps, and you start to get some real money.  The link to the site that explains what the A/G does with the stamps is:
http://womensministries.ag.org/nationalprojects/library-fund.cfm.  That will give you lots of information about the fund.  It doesn't take much to do it, just cut out the stamps (from every letter you get), collect and mail to Marilyn (since she has so graciously offered).  As an A/G missionary I then use the funds to buy books for our Bible School library (as well as other missionaries at other Bible Schools).

Hopefully I'll be able to go out and take some pictures this week as the weather is finally getting warmer (we had snow here last week).  We're even starting to see the trees bud and green grass.
A watched clock never boils.

karmat

Cool.  I will try to start remembering to cut out my stamps.  And I will see if I can't get others to do the same.  Then, Marilyn, I will send them to you.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday, and Pat, for you especially.  I hope the pain subsides today and you can relax a little bit. :)
