Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

The Value of Humans
Psalm 8:1-9  NLT

1  O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.

2 You have taught children and nursing infants
to give you praise.  They silence your enemies
       who were seeking revenge.

3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers--
the moon and the stars you have set in place--

4 what are mortals that you should think of us,
mere humans that you should care for us?

5 For you made us only a little lower than God,
and you crowned us with glory and honor.

6 You put us in charge of everything you made,
giving us authority over all things--

7 the sheep and the cattle
       and all the wild animals,

8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.

9 O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!

How do you know you have worth?

When we look at the marvels of creation, we wonder how God could be concerned for people who constantly disappoint him.  Yet God created us only a little lower than the angels.

The next time you question your worth as a person or feel down about yourself, remember that God considers you to be highly valuable.  We have great worth because we bear the stamp of the Creator.

Because God has already declared how valuable you are to him, you can be set free from feeling of worthlessness.

Janet ~ Psssst!  I used my Thesarus!

Well, I really forgot this was Wednesday night and I was to post the NEM for tomorrow until around 8:30 p.m.  So I came in here and turn on the computer and my wall light so I wouldn't forget again.

I am going to set the alarm for 7 a.m.  Then shower, eat breakfast and water my plants.  Then read my Bible.  Then make sure the girls have plenty to eat and drink and head out.  I need to put gas in the car and stop at the ATM and then we will head east!  That should get us in Dayton around noon their time so we can get a bite to eat before going to Ivalou's daughter's home.  She baby sits.  Thursday will be the last day of school but Jo babysits for teachers and they have to go to school Friday so Jo will have the little babies AND her four kids, too.  And also rounding up the costumes and fixing hair and putting on makeup for her three girls for the Dance Recital.  Busy day!!!  Sounds like a good pizza night.

See y'all Saturday!

Good morning, everyone!  It's another wet and rainy day here in Western North Carolina, it looks like.  Kristi seems to be okay, with the medicine producing a LITTLE bit of results, but I'm still sort of concerned.  Thanks for your prayers :)

Have a great day!

Good Morning to everyone. Today is a busy day for me I have all 3 of my clients to go to. I am taking Versal to the Doctor this afternoon  and stopping at the store for Fay before I go there late this afternoon.

I have been working on getting the meals  prepared for the pastor's family for the next 2 weeks and have all but 1 day filled up, this Sunday. Maybe I can do it, if I prepare it and put it in the oven before I go to church. I will have to see how it goes. Working 7 days a week doesn't leave me a lot of time to do for others as I would like to do.

Good to here that Kristi's medicine is working. Praise the Lord!

My foot is still bothering me  where I injured it last week. I have to be real careful how I place my foot on the ground. I am able to do my Tai Chi exersises, but  am so wary of going to walk onthe treadmill just yet. I have taken the dogs out to the field to walk but that really irritates my foot.

thats all for now TYL

Edit: I have other people signed up  for the meals. Iam not the one preparing  them.

Thank You, Father, for Kristi's improvement! AMEN!.

Carol

We have a bit of rain today - always a blessing in this high desert area.

Karmat:  Good going!!!!

Sarah:  Sorry to hear that you injured your shoulder.  Otherwise, it sounds like you had a fun time in NM.

Etta Sue:  Love the cute dogs!  Yes, I can imagine Jerry with his sense of humor saying something about you picking him up.

Janet:  Don makes kalidiscopes as well as pens and I notice that all of the kids have kept them in their living rooms.

Marilyn:  It takes so long for a foot problem to heal - and it slows a person down -

Larry:  I always get so irritated when someone in authority goes on vacation or wherever and doesn't pass their authority on to someone else during their time away - like they are the only person in the world to make a decision.  Thinking of you.

Hi everyone.  Another rainy and chilly day here in Florida.  Apparently the forecast is for a continuation of this weather.  I heard on the news that with all the rain it is now a perfect time for the mosquitos to breed.  I went to coffee at the cafe and when I came out I got the security light again and my car wouldn't start up right away.  I waited about 10 minutes (walked over to the Post Office for stamps) and when I came back tried again and it started.  It is very aggravating but at least now know what to do and that is wait.

Karmat and Nards, glad to here that you little girl is doing better and the medicine is working.  Sure you all must have a sense of relief.

Carol, I don't know that the nurse coordinator didn't pass on her authority as I heard from another nurse in her office and she gave me a telephone number that I could call if I needed anything.  I just don't know how quickly the doctors in Birmingham will deal with my case or schedule me for tests.  I understand the need for people to get away and a few days probably won't make a particle of difference.

Etta Sue, hope you will have had a good trip by the time you see this message.  Our silly cat has a habit of splashing out all of his water from the bowl if he gets aggravated.  Sure your cats will be fine while you are gone although they will miss you.  By the way, I liked your devotional thought for today.  Psalms 8 is so rich and glorous.

Marilyn, are you just arranging for others to provide the meals?  That is quite a service and seems to be going on quite awhile.  Our church has a congregational care committee that will take in meals when needed but don't think they do it over a extended period of time.  Don't overwork today.

Tbear, I think you need to slow down a bit.  We miss seeing your cheery postings.  Hope your daughter gets a good report from the doctor today.

This afternoon is Calvin Cove so will be gone an hour or so this afternoon.  Don't have a lot on my schedule so will do some projects here on the computer that I have been putting off.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Larry, How did I miss htat you are in Florida?  Or am i crazy (don't you live in GA?)

Janet

Good morning, everyone!  It is still cool, damp and cloudy here, very unusual Spring this year, but I much prefer it to hot, dry and windy!  ;D

I had a really good workout at step aerobics this morning, and asked Kristi for some pointers to help me keep up and not get stiff next week, as I will be in a painting class all week.  Too much sitting, and lots of temptation to eat!  But so much FUN.

Larry, I had similar thoughts to Carol's about your situation.  Surely someone is in charge?  Too many lives are depending on that, for only one person to have all authority, and then go on vacation!  Hope you are feeling good today!

Liz, I forgot to tell you yesterday that I enjoyed your one-liners.  Some were funny; some too close to truth to be funny, but still thought-provoking.  I appreciate your sense of humor.  (((hugs)))

Etta Sue, have fun this weekend!  We will miss you, but so happy you can go.

Yea, little Kristi!!  You GO, baby, and keep on going, even without the medicine!  Thanks, God, you are so good.

Hey, Nards!  Good to see your handsome face!

Have a good, though busy, day, Marilyn!

Hi TBear!  Yep, life keeps us busy, doesn't it?

Pat, so good to hear you are home safely, and have gotten some good sleep, too.  (((hugs)))

My green tea should be steeped by now, and I am ready for a cup!  ;D

Carol - you mention high desert - where exactly are you?
Y'all - please note that Marilyn has posted a new pic of Marbeth & the painting (bigger).

Larry I am just coordinating the dinner's for the Pastor and his family. It is becsause Michele is having chemo and is unable to to do her chores. We are also cleaning the house and doing the laundry for her. she has 2 more chemo treatments to go, the tumour has shrunk to 1/2 the size it was and is so smallthey had to go in a mrak it somehow so that they will know where it wa/is when they do the surgery.

Apparently Danny isn't a lot of help around the house.  Maybe he doesn't know how to do those thing, Michele sayd she has spoiled him.  :-[ But the congregation is doing a fine job of taking care of them.

Got to go to work now. bye, laters alligators, and all that kind of stuff.

Look and Live
(Click to hear music)

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live." Numbers 21:8

Words and Music:  William A. Ogden, 1841-1897

I've a message from the Lord, hallelujah!
The message unto you I'll give;
'Tis recorded in His Word, hallelujah!
It is only that you "look and live."

Refrain

Look and live, my brother, live!
Look to Jesus now and live;
'Tis recorded in His Word, hallelujah!
It is only that you "look and live"

I've a message full of love, hallelujah!
A message, O my friend, for you;
'Tis a message from above, hallelujah!
Jesus said it and I know 'tis true.

Refrain

Life is offered unto you, hallelujah!
Eteral life thy soul shall have,
If you'll only look to Him, hallelujah!
Look to Jesus who alone can save.

Refrain

I will tell you how I came, hallelujah!
To Jesus when He made me whole:
'Twas believing on His name, hallelujah!
I trusted and He saved my soul.

Well, now I'm a cyber-victim! I had posted a message mentioning almost all of us by name with many comments.

Primarily, though I was saying that the song "Showers of Blessings" was on my mind this morning. And, that not only did Nashville NEED the real showers, but my heart needed to focus on some of my spiritual blessings.

The new parallel translation of the Bible I've been enjoying.

The devotional set the children gave me for Mothers Day.

My friends at my church - my friends online

And for material blessings - that I'm still able to work, etc.

God is so good to us - and I just needed to "skid to a halt" and recognize that!

Y'all have a good evening.

Back from our trip out west.....In five weeks of travel we covered 16 states (some twice)  We had nice weather till we started home.....

Got here after 11 hours on the road.  We were going to stay one day more and relax by the pool....but we couldn't find a swimming pool that was not being rained on.
