JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

A Sheep's Song
Psalm 23:1-6  NLT

    1 The LORD is my shepherd;
         I have everything I need.
    2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.

    3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
         bringing honor to his name.

    4 Even when I walk
through the dark valley of death,
      I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
     Your rod and your staff
         protect and comfort me.

5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You welcome me as a guest,
         anointing my head with oil.
         My cup overflows with blessings.

6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD
       forever.
What is the most comforting phrase to you in this psalm?

When we allow God our Shepherd to guide us, we have contentment.  When we choose to sin, however, we are choosing to go our own way, and we cannot blame God for the environment in which we find ourselves.

Our Shepherd knows the "green meadows" and "peaceful streams" that will restore us.  We will reach these places only by following him obediently.  Rebelling against the Shepherd's leading is actually rebelling against our own best interests for the future.

We must remember this the next time we are tempted to go our own way rather than the Shepherd's way.

I have been invited to go out for breakfast in the morning.  So I won't be back until later in the day.

The girls behaved very good today.  They played without running and screaming...two rules at Grandma's house!!  Well, there was a time or two the 'walking fast' was almost a run and a time or two when those loud noises could be considered screams but hey, they are little girls.  Fun little girls.

Hey, Al....how did I do today?  I locked and stickied.  If they aren't now then cyberspooks are out and about... ???

Etta Sue:  Thank you for today's devotion.  I have turned to this psalm in the bleakest of times and truely, it is the most powerful promise & it does comfort so much.  There are a few passages in the bible that make me teary-eyed and this is one of them.

karmat:  Pink eye - it seems to be going around in this area as well.  Mend quickly.

Good Morning Everyone...

Getting company later today and they'll be staying for at least one night--possibly two so I have to scurry around and get some things done.

Thanks so much for that Psalm, Etta Sue.  It's so special to me.

Let's sing it...

The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want
(Click to hear music)

Psalm 23

The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E'en for his own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

My table thou hast furnished
In prsence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house for evermore
My dwelling-place shall be.

Good morning, Nards.  That's an interesting photo of yourself you have in here these days.  My wife says you look like a surgeon.  I say you look like a pirate!  Oh well, it's you.  Gotta go, 'cause I gotta get things done today.  Mornin' all y'all.

The Shepherd's Song is one to strength and encouragement,

Ruth Ann:  Congrats on the weight loss.

Marilyn: I enjoy your posts.

Yesterday in the afternoon we had some rain and today so far the sun is out doing its job.
Time for me to go out and water the plants.

No longer rebels!!

June 9

Worship: Worshipers From Rebels
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were
sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
and by the Spirit of our God.
--1 Corinthians 6:11
Sometimes evangelical Christians seem to be fuzzy and uncertain
about the nature of God and His purposes in creation and
redemption. In such instances, the preachers often are to blame.
There are still preachers and teachers who say that Christ died
so we would not drink and not smoke and not go to the theater.
No wonder people are confused! No wonder they fall into the
habit of backsliding when such things are held up as the reason
for salvation.
Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered under Pontius Pilate, died
on the cross and rose from the grave to make worshipers out of
rebels!  Whatever Happened to Worship?, 11
"Lord, we also teach that Christ died so that we can avoid
hell. While that's a great eternal benefit, it seems to me that
we need to capture this truth--that the first reason Christ died
is that we might become worshipers. Thank You for Your grace.
Amen."

Hey Everyone sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  I have been very busy with studying and other stuff.  How are you all.

I have something to announce about another message board, and I hope everyone will see it here because I did not know which board to post it, but feel free to move this.
The message board is Christian's Corner.  I know that there were some members from here that were also members of that board which is why I am posting it here.  Last night it was badly hacked, and all the forums were turned into links to Satanic and Pornographic sites and the messages were made into these things as well.  Some of the members were emailed these horrid messages.  Now the site is simply unaccessable.  So Please pray for you brother's and sisters in Christ at CC.  Also, for those who were members....  Ambariel has set up a new temporary board for us at http://1.myfreebulletinboard.com/christianscorne.html for the time being.

God Bless,
Teresa Dawn

Judy and I had a great breakfast at IHOP....a new one in Anderson....just east of me maybe 8 miles.  Very good.  We both had the stuffed French Toast combo.  I was amazed to get 2 eggs, hash browns, 2 strips of bacon and the stuffed French Toast...2 slices of Cinnamon Raisin Bread stuffed with sugary cream cheese coated in egg mixture and fried...then smothered with Peaches, Apples, Straweberries or Blueberries and topped with whipped cream.  Sounds like a lot but not too much...just enough.  Yummmm!

Since being home I have typed and printed Name, Address, Spouse Name and Phone Numbers list for my high school outing Saturday.

Now I am ready to go recline..... 8)

Whew...finally caught up on all the reading.

I've been away a few days as my computer finally had to be crashed and reloaded fresh again with all my software.  Thank goodness I buy only original software disks or this might have been a problem.

Tuesday evening, I went to listen to "Christian Music in the Park", a program run every Tuesday evening in the summertime and what an enjoyable evening it was!  This is the 5th year for the program, but the first evening I was able to go and sit and listen for the whole thing.  I will have to try and make it a point to go each and every week.

I have also been doing a fair bit of cleaning, and now am going to shut down, have dinner, and then relax for the evening.

oh....Soni, you mentioned being concerned about your "proofs" being scanned.  Would it not be possible for you to "watermark" the proofs for selection purposes and then remove it for the actual enlargement printing?  I don't know much about photography so am not sure if this is even possible.  I enjoyed your photos very much also.  I found it difficult to select a favourite from the ones you have up because they are all so good!

Pat, enjoy your vacation.....it is long overdue, please come back to us rested and refreshed!

Boots

Hi all u all

Good job on the devotion today Etta Sue.  For some reason these devotions always seem to be something we need or have been thinking about.

Good to see you Nards.  I would guess that the head cover you are wearing is something to do with "right to life".  I do think there is a group of musicians that also wear the same type of head cover.

Any way you look real handsome.

I am getting ready to take a trip to Florida.

Larry get on top of the mountain and if you can see to Naples Fl. look for me.  ;D ;D

I do hope you are feeling ok today Larry, and hope you do not get upset, when I am "funning you" a bit.

I will be gone about 12 to 14 days and will miss coming on this site and reading what is taking place.

So wishing all of you a good evening.

Boots
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Boots, I have good eyesight, but not that good.  You live in a beautiful place.  I have never visited Naples but several years ago we spent a delightful week at Punta Gorda and really like the west side of Florida.

Karmat, sorry to hear of the pink eye.  Hope it won't last too long.

Etta Sue, we ate at an IHOP not too long ago.  They certainly serve a lot of food on their plates.  We like the breafasts that they serve.

Sue, the "Music in the Park" sounds like a very nice thing.

TeresaDawn, what hatred must be behind someone trashing a fine website.  Satan certainly was at work.  I do hope things can be recovered.

I have had a busy day.  Had my second blood test to check on the progress of fighting the cancer.  I am to get a letter in a few days with the results.  I am expecting a very good report.  Pat also had a doctor's appointment this morning and will have a followup test as soon as she can.  This pertains to a new problem for her.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional.

karmat

The pink eye seems ot be on the decline at the Shuford house.  I am down to eye drops twice/three times a day, and nards seems to be at the peak.  Hopefully by the weekend, we will be all clear again. :)

Monday is going to be so cool.  It is my little sister's 25th birthday (that does not seem real), and she is on a pirate kick right now, so we are going to Lake Douglas in Eastern TN where my older sister has a boat and  camper, and we are going to have a "Pirate Party."  The kids are really looking forward to it.

As you read this, please say a prayer for my friend Connie.  I will post more details in the Prayer forum.

Tomorrow's FRIDAY!!

Don't forget June's challenge!  I wanna see some pictures!!

Samantha

Evening everyone.

I had my 1 month post op eye checkup today.  The dr said my vision is now at 20/15! PTL!  I haven't been able to see this good in 30 years.  :D  Everything looks so crisp and clear its amazing.

We are counting down the days until family vacation.  Going to Destin, Florida for a week.  I am so looking forward to being a beach bum!

Have a great night  y'all!

Samantha

Destin is awesome!  Or I should say I have heard that it is.  I've never actually been there, but it looks beautiful, and hubby says it is nice.  He is a graduate from Pensacola Christian, and we have been wanting to go to that area for vacation for some time.

Pat

Teresa Dawn, thank you so very much for coming here to explain the situation for our members.  When I was on the site last evening and saw this terrible work of Satan, I wept and went right to our moderators on this site and informed them.

Thanks again and please know that we'll be praying for you all.

Now, it's time to put the cat out and lock the door...
